        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
          Seeing no ned to hurt or be hurt by the hounds or dragon Z'leyra
          yells "Lets leave! Mist it and run! Someone help me haul the
          priestess!" Then she starts dragging the priestess out of the
          room away from the new critters.

          Fighting with the dragon and firehounds is a diversion that
          reduces the chance of successfully completing the mission. They
          could inflict losses that might make the difference in our next
          encounters (if any) with the Climans. While slaying them gives
          experience it doesn't bring us closer completing the mission.
          As low on mana as she is, Z'leyra isn't an even match for a 
          irehound (one-headed hellhound) let alone the dragon.  As
          wounded as our best fighters are, I doubt that we could deal
          with the critters without taking unacceptable losses.  Finally,
          these appear to be ward guardians or summoned critters. possibly
          they will vanish after a time and we might even be able to come
          back later, bundle up the tapestries and take them with us.
          Might be quite valuable. :)

          OOC comments.
          Z'leyra will fight bravely enough if there is reason. She sees
          no need to engage the dragon and firehounds in combat. They
          might fight each other, or they might attack us. She prefers
          to take the loot (thus dragging the priestess) and go. Hopefully
          someone has grabbed the staff - she has been too busy to check.
          Also, Chion should be dragged or carried by those near him. Yes,
          one door is unclosable. Thus we should proceed past the next and
          close it behind us. Hopefully they won't be able to open it.
          Maybe they will vanish after a time.  If we cannot exit without
          fighting...well then we fight.  If so, and she is still
          invisible, she will do back attacks.
        GM: Ack. 

        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
          OOC question:  Just a technical thing...Ben'Dar stepped on the
          priestess after hearing Farseeker, but I don't think Ben'Dar can
          speak any Marentian.  I think he only speaks Zendali... unless
          he's picked up some Marentian in the short time since he was
          rescued?  Either way, he was probably more than glad to stomp
          on top of the priestess.  :-) BTW, I think you're doing a great
          job with the adventure, especially the fights.  I've never
          played a PBEM before, and this is really cool.  Keep up the
          good work!

          OOC:  I'm sure everyone is more than willing to fight these
          monsters...but do we need to?  We've killed all the Climans and
          have accomplished our goal (I think).  Why not retreat back
          behind the stone/metal secret door and wedge it shut, trapping
          the dragon and dogs inside?  If we really want to get back in
          there, we can just wait a few minutes... I can't imagine that
          these monsters will get along - they'll probably fight amongst
          themselves and when there's only one left (probably the dragon,
          injured), we go back in and finish it off.  What do you think?
          Also, I seem to remember that there are some other members of
          the group with fairly massive injuries.  I'm worried that if
          we just do a frontal assault on these monsters, we may lose
          one or more people.  Thoughts?

          Ben'Dar grins ferociously at the sight of the dragon and at the
          prospect of more battle.  His warrior's blood is running hot in
          his veins right about now!

          From Ben'Dar's vantage point, the tapestries where the monsters
          have appeared are partially obscured by the pillars.  Ben'Dar
          was looking at the Northeast one, so he probably hasn't even
          seen the dogs yet.  But I'm sure he can see the dragon, even if
          it is partially obscured by the pillar!

          Ben'Dar would heed Jordi's warning about the dogs, but unless
          Jordi yelled it in Zendali, Ben'Dar probably won't pick up on
          it.  Ben'Dar charges the dragon as well, unless it becomes
          apparent that the party is fleeing instead of fighting; in
          that case he will act as rear-guard, trying to hold the
          monsters at bay while the rest of the party retreats to a
          safer place.

          As he charges the dragon, he will probably notice the hell
          hounds eventually through his peripheral vision.  If the
          hounds attack before the dragon starts to move and he sees
          them as the more immediate threat, Ben'Dar will veer off to
          the northwest to engage the hellhounds first.
        GM: As to language your correct.  However, Zen'da has been
          friendly with Marentians for a long time in terms of
          formal allies to even wars with them.  There is bound to
          be come common words even you might understand.  The main
          word you did understand is step.  Now, with that assumed
          it could  be understood you got the general jist.  At least
          that's my excuse.  :)  Thanks for the compliment on the game.
          I'm working on the second one it won't be as BIG as this one
          but more role playing oriented than taking down a mountain :)
          Ack.  Charge dragon.  God help us all :)

        From Jordi: [Re: Actions]
          Jordi kills the priestess with his sword; he follows the old
          saying of "the good climan priestess is the dead one" to the
          letter.      (OOC: just a doubt... doesn't Jordi attack the
          priestess before the diplomat?)
          Then, he looks to himself, worried by Neva's reaction to his
          wounds.  Fortunately, Neva seems to be okey, and her reaction
          to Jordi's wounds is "normal". Jordi is considering kissing
          her, when the alarm starts again.   He quickly locates the
          sources of danger, and quickly charges towards the dragon,
          while saying:   "Get rid of the hounds, I will distract the
          dragon."  Once Jordi is near the dragon (that seems to be
          still adjusting      to this new environment), he will cast
          another Concealing Mist spell.  His idea is to keep the
          dragon at bay, while the rest of the group kills the hounds;
          then, the entire group will be able to attack the dragon at
          better odds.
        GM: No.  Wi is just slightly faster than you.  You move immediately
          after Z'leyra.  Technically though you have the killing blow.
          As he knocked her out and you finished her off.  Ack.

        From Unali: [Re: Actions]
          Seeing Jordi run back, Unali decides to go for the hounds.
          Daggers at the ready, she hopes to get lucky and take one down
          before they really realise where they are.
        GM: Ack.  

        GM: I must say you 3 are either insane or crazy.  Even I would
          not run straight at them.  Sure they are a bit groggy from
          being summoned...even Farseeker at full strength could handle
          any ONE hound easilly and probably kill the dragon with some
          time but man you guys are brave :)


      Time: Estimated  7:21am-7:36am  - Morning Day 22

          [two seconds earlier]

          [Neva and Jordi lean close for a quick kiss when she sees in
           the NW corner the hounds.  Just as they get half an inch
           closer she pulls back and gaspe.  Jordi turns around and
           as he does sees the dragon before Neva points to the hounds.]

          [Jordi looks at Neva and smiles confidently.  Then he turns
           and pulls his sword out again and charges toward the dragon
           before Neva can react..]
          Jordi: "Get rid of the hounds, I will distract the dragon."

          Neva: "No!  You'll be killed!"

          Z'leyra: "Lets leave! Mist it and run! Someone help me haul the

         [Thig bends over Chion and casts his Forgetfullness spell.
          He speaks in Marentian and quietly but outloud to forget the
          last 30 seconds.  He then smirks and leans closer to his ear
          so only Chion cna hear and whispers another thing..]

         [Farseeker sighs and decides this room is too dangerous.  He
          quickly decides retreat is in order...he yells out.]
         Farseeker: "Escort the diplomats out.  We'll keep them busy
           until everyone has left!  Everyone out now!    Able fighters
           divide up and keep the creatures busy as best we can!"

         [Tactical combat time and event now.  Back to 2 phases per
          update as no one has objected to that.]

         Turn 1: Phase 1

         [Mana Allocation]
           [Caldan allocates mana]
           [Jordi allocates mana]

         [Missile Fire]
           [Triest loads his heavy crossbow but is blocked from good
            angle so will have to move to position.]

           [Neva knows Jordi is his own man so grabs her bow.  She
            is in effect closest to the hounds than most.  She
            loads and quickly shots off a arrow at one of the hounds.
            But it misses by a good 3 feet.]

         [Magic Effect]

           [Caladan heard stories of dragons that climb out of fire
            pits so he asszumes fire doens't hurt them.  But these
            dogs he has seen surely are just dogs ..well big dogs..
            so he chooses them as a target for his fireball.  It
            goes out and impacts squarely on the trio of dogs.  For
            a second as it explodes on them he smiles...but then the
            fire dissolves..and he grimaces...not even a burnt hair!
            His face goes from glee to sheer horror then doom that
            he himself is doomed being so close to the hounds..]
         [Melee & Movement]

           [Farseeker runs forward toward the Hellhounds....]
           [Trembyl runs northward past a confused Sava...]

          [Unali dives to the left and then runs northward past
           the pillar and comes up to one of the groggy hellhounds.
           She swings both daggers.  The right dagger misses the
           beast entirely but the first slashes the hellhound's
           left dag severely cutting massive amounts of muscle
           doing 13 points to the creature but it still is alive.
           It just gives a shrill hound like yell of pain..]

          [Ben'dar jumps up and then charges NE past Kasha/Cholan
           and Neva.  He then stops and turns around only about 25
           feet from the dragon.]

          [Wi looks at the creatures and unsure of what to do.  Sure
           he has been trained by the best Knights in the land but
           even they would not go up against a large creature alone.]

          [Kasha turns to Cholan and points to Chion.]
          Kasha: "Get him outta here."
          [Then Kasha runs toward the dragon's direction.  He passes
           by Ben'dar but doesn't end up to the dragon yet.]

          [Cholan shakes his head and grabs his Axe, ignoring Kasha,
           and runs toward the hounds...]

          [Z'leyra begins to drag the priestess and heads for the door.
           She ends up near Sava who jus tsees the priestess moving
           by herself...?]
          GM: Dragging a body -1 to PMR.  Get help it'll be normal.

          [Jordi ends up about 10 feet from the dragon but notices
           in his excitement there is no mist around him.  His
           spell has failed!]

          [Suresh heads toward Chion and prepares to lift him up
           to carr him out.]

          [Ris grabs the body of Shah and drags him away.  He
           ends up at the blasted hole to the room..]

          [Xian climbs over the back of the throne and does a
           running jump off it.  He lands on his feet and near
           the fallen staff.  He reaches to grab it.  As he
           does though a jolt of blue energy shoots out and
           throws him up in the air and then down 10 feet away...
           his breath is completely knocked out of him as he
           impacts on the ground on his back...]

          [Amin and Dax don't understand all the words.  But they
           know fighting humans is one thing.  Fighting sudden
           creatures that appear out of no where..they don't
           understand and don't want to get close.  They turn
           and run both toward the exit of the room.]

          [Aren sees Xian fly and impact on the ground and
           near him he heads toward him and stops to check on
           him but does not find any obvious wounds...]

         Turn 1: Phase 2

         [Mana Allocation]
           [Jordi reallocates mana]
           GM: Figured you'd want to do this as fighting a dragon
             in open is suicide in some cultures.

         [Missile Fire]
           [Triest having moved now fires at the hounds between
            Farseeker and Unali.  But the bolt misses completely
            too high.]

           [Neva fires another arrow and hits one hound but with
            only a minor 1 point hit.  The hound doesn't even yelp]

         [Magic Effect]
           [Jordi sees mist form from his body and expand out about
            20 feet in every direction...he smiles..]

         [Melee & Movement]

           [Thig smirks and then hovers.  He heads north to see what
            he could or shouldn't do...]

           [Farseeker charges one hellhound and swings.  Since the
            hounds are still groggy he gets a slight bonus but
            even with that he hits easilly doing a massive 33
            points of damage.  The great sword impales the large
            beast and it falls dead to the ground.]

           [Triest turns and heads south..]

           [Trembyl heads further north...]
           Trembyl: "Don't touch the staff!"

           [Unali swings again.  Both daggers this time impact but
            the right doesn't penetrate the heavy hide.  The other
            does but only a minor cut..]

           [Ben'dar runs forward.  He sees mist ahead and sighs...
            more mist...but he enters it and stops when he sees
            a large form ahead...the dragon.  He tries to spear
            whatever is in front of him but misses whatever he
            was aiming at..]

           [Caladan looks at Trembyl in surprise and heeds his
            warning and heads south..]

           [Wi ways his options and decides to run...]

           [Kasha enters the mist and finds a large form in the
            distance as well.  He does a overhead bash with his
            mace with both hands and hits the dragon's left wing
            and slices it greatly in a shattering blow doing
            an amazing 22 points of damage to the beast!]

           [Cholan ends up besides farseeker and Unali and swings
            down his axe at the one Neva hit with arrow and does
            7 points of damage to it.]

           [Z'leyra ends up another 20 feet further to the door
            with the priestess.]

           [Jordi attacks the dragon wish his sword hits but doesn't
            penetrate the thick hide.]

           [Suresh carries Chion and heads south...]

           [Ris drags Shah's body out of the room...]

           [Xian sits up and shakes his head then stands up with
            help of Aren..]

           [Dax and Amin head south more..they both end up
            in the doorway.  Dax would've helped Z'leyra but
            only sees the priestess on the ground.]

           [Aren helps Xian up...]

      Ok.  As far as the creatures....The hounds are alert now at
      the end of this phase.  Due to all being hurt and one killed
      they WILL react next phase.  Keep this in mind if your near
      them.  They will react between likely Unali and Neva's movement.

      The dragon is still sluggish but having been hurt bad by Kasha
      will likely react sooner now.  On the ground he is slow and
      sluggish but if he gets in the air he'll be faster than many
      in the group.  On the ground though he'll likely move last.

      Jordi. Your mist covers Rows A-D and Row E5 those 2 spaces.
      Thus you, dragon, ben'dar and Kasha are among the mist.

      Most are retreating but if you continue to fight let me know.
      If actions change let me know.  2 phases.  Unless things
      become drastic like a death I'll do 2 phases.
