       [Recap]

         From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra goes over to where the clothes had been left and starts
searching for any sign of the clothes, saying "The person ...
         GM: Ack.

         From Kell: [Re: Actions]
           [Time: 10:30 am]

[Did you really name an NPC Fuk? ... :) ] Ha'Kell approaches
the taller man, "That is a very interesting name. ...

Kell is no tracker, so he won't even try looking. He will
start to intone and gently wave his hands to cast a few
spells. "Stand back for a few moments please, do not....

           [Cast Luck at Max EL.
Then cast Detection at Max EL - detection for clothes/scraps
of cloth that are not on a person, on the ground or plants.
           If it fails, try again.

Then cast Detection for Wolf hairs. If that fails, try
           again.

At any time in those, when Luck runs out, cast it again before
           the next Detection spell.

The duplicates are to be sure the spells are cast
           successfully. ]

He then gives the results for all to hear.
GM: Ack. Well blame Alex on name. :) As a GM I'm bad on two things
Names and Voice acting (ie strange accents, etc.). So I had
Alex come up with most of the names you've seen. :)

         From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra will motion folks back and back up herself to let...

Z'leyra remembers her minimal knowledge of the Tracking
spells and considers the 3 day time limit.....long since passed.
She ponders time and spells. She considers that she is still in
Ticasi. And decides that she should try to get what clues she
can in the next few hours.
GM: Ack. 3 day limit on tracking?

         From Kell: [Re: Actions]
If the first Detection spells don't find anything, Kell will
try a third set. Detection for Anything from a Wolf Shaman -
hair, nails, clothes. [I didn't think of this first, so neither
           did Kell]

If that casting fails to find anything, he will move along the
path the wolf took and try again. This time only casting
Detection for things from a Wolf Shaman - hair, nails, clothes, etc.
GM: Ack. Detection is a bit more specific than generic. Keep this
in mind. Detection for say dinner wear is too vague. Looking
for tin plates is specific. Detection is a bit cheap so will
refine the search a bit for you. I considered email you but I
wanted to get this update out. :)

       ------------------------------------------------------------
       [New Stuff]

           [Ticasi]
           [Decalis 24th, 1634TH]

           [Ticasi Moneylender shop]
           [Time: 7:08 am]

Kell takes Arawn's hint about the court. It's time to go.
He ends with, "I'm sorry, we have a short appointment. I will
try to return this afternoon to talk about it more. Thank you
so much for all your help!"

Arawn and Kell start to the door. The clerk grunts and
gets back to work. Folks talk about deals then disappear
just another fancy face trader who smiles too much. The clerk
           shakes his head in dismay.

           [Tiren's house]
           [Time: 10:30 am]

The new strangers introduce themselves to the party.

Ha'Kell approaches the taller man, "that is a very interesting
           name. Are you from here?"

The man appraises the half elf up and down. "My family was
from Gom originally. My full name is Fukishastu. But I figure
folks can just use Fuk as its shorter and easier to recall.
Most call me chief or hard-hand."

The half-elf glances at Kiet wondering about that nick
name and the chief grins. He continues, "a certain Gomese
hand to hand fighting style I've learned."

[Woods south east of Tiren's place]
           [Time: 11:38 am]

Z'leyra finishes her Akasha spell and looks around the woods.
She now knows the person is at least a shape changer or one
with spells. The spell did not indicate use of magic at least
openly unless the green Z is innate or a natural then there
           would have been a sign.

Looking for the clothing, saying "The person shape changed,"
she frowns..."into a wolf here and may have left clothes on the
ground. While the clothes may have been found in the meantime
and taken away, if we can find even a scrap I may be able to
use it to help trace the killer. Oh yes, the horse that had
been ridden was seen in the last Akasha but not this one."

"The horse had been black with a thin white stripe on the
lower left leg. No brand. A typical looking saddle that had a
mark looking like a circle with a half square. We can try to
trace the horse and perhaps get a clue."

The chief constable frowns, "why chase all these clues? I
thought our prime suspect was your twin sister? We need to
           go find her."

Suddenly a noise from the right comes and a constable comes
into view. "No camps or fire in these woods! Too many
homes are ar-" He notices the chief constable turn around.
           "Sir?"

             "We are investigating something."

"Fine sir. I'll just head back to my horse unless you
           need support?"

             "No. Thanks you."

"Wait." The bounty hunter raises a hand. "This saddle
might be tracked. While there may be 3 or 4 dozen saddle
makers in the province the real good ones are here in the
city. There are only six that I recall. In my bounties I've
had to look for such things."

The Chief turns to the bounty hunter, "Actually only five
now. I think Redalf's shop closed a year ago when he got
sick and hurt." He glances over at Z'leyra. "if you think
this is warranted fine. But I was under the impression we
would be heading out today." He turns back to the young
constable. "I do need help. Where is the nearest messenger
           shop?"

"Four or five blocks I believe north of here."

The Chief nods, "fine. I need you to fetch 5 fast runners
or riders. Bring them here and we'll assign their mission.
I need ones who know the shops in the city well."

The constable salutes and runs back to his horse.

Kell starts to intone and gently wave his hands to cast a
few spells. "Stand back for a few moments please, do not
bring any clothing or wolves near." he asks the group before
           he begins casting.

Z'leyra will motion folks back and back up herself to let
           Kell cast his spell(s).

After looking around using her Tracking and Forest Survival
skills Z'leyra calls Lucria and Fuk over. "As you heard,
when I cast the Akasha spell I saw the killer no longer had
           her horse with her."

Using her finger she sketches out the mark she saw on the
saddle. "Do you think that either of you could find out the
owner of the horse and saddle from that mark and the
           description of the horse? Today?"

"We will have to try tracking this person, not an easy task
nearly two years later even with magic. A couple hours spend
getting a clue may help. I get the impression that I will only
be welcome here in Ticasi if we track down and capture the
killer, which I want to do anyway. We shall have to leave
           soon. Tonight or early tomorrow."

The two men stare a few moments and seem to show no expression
when she ends, especially on not coming back without the killer.
The chief looks to her, "will you actually bring back your
sister for justice? We are both here to see that done. If you
will not or can not let us know now. As to the mark I have some
ideas. Make 5 copies of that sketch please."

Z'leyra remembers her minimal knowledge of the Tracking
spells and considers the 3 day time limit.....long since passed.
She ponders time and spells. She considers that she is still in
Ticasi. And decides that she should try to get what clues she
can in the next few hours.

Kell tries to recall what green Z was wearing. It looked
like cloth and some leather But he is no expert. He could
ask Z'leyra as she has some skill in tailoring but she is
busy making sketches. Then he recalls that Fremea makes her
own disguises and is skilled as well. He quickly confers
with Fremea on what type of clothing. Fremea agrees it must
be cloth not even heavy cotton and some leather belt and
boots. Kell nods and figures he'll need probably two spells
           for the clothing.

Kell knows there is no visual cues on Luck so will not know
if the spell works or not. But detection to the Sidh has
a faint fog like cone that moves out from the caster so it
can be seen. Usually various colors depending on what one
is searching for. He casts the luck spell and then the
first detection spell for Cloth Clothing. He knows he has
only 60 feet so has to turn and scan. There is nothing seen.
He casts detection again for leather and again finds nothing.
He knows from the look and from what the chief said the woods
are 3 square miles. Doing it in 60 foot chunks will take a
           long time.

Arawn nods to confirm that the spells did work. But at
least for the immediate area there is no sign of clothing.

Kell knows this is like looking for a shoe string in a
manure pile of a chance much less a needle like most say.
He casts again for Wolf objects like hair and scans the
area. Nothing. He ensure where the wolf went from Z'leyra
and moves that way and recasts. But still nothing.

Frustrated the trader gives up. It has been 2.5 years.
Simple wind or animals or even neighbors could've been here
and taken such things away. Maybe even the wolf came back
and got what she left behind?

The party starts to scan the area by their eyes for a area of
about 250 feet in every direction. The young Pyan does fine
a garment of some sort in the north west about 150 feet away.
Kiet explains it is a scarf. But Unali tells the hunter it
is a young girl's training garment for her chest. The red
faced hunter drops the soiled garment. Guess some boys
and girls came playing in the woods.

           [Time: 11:47 am]

The constable with 6 young boys on city horses arrive.
The constable points to the woods and trots off north.
The boys dismount and guide horses to the woods.

The chief exits the woods and hands each a copy of the
sketched mark. "I need you to go to the saddle shops and
ask if they have seen this mark. If so come to find
us." He gives direction's to Tiren's place. He then
points to Z'leyra who is wandering around looking under
bushes. "She will pay for your time."

One boy says, "I don't know any saddle places."

The bounty hunter asks if he knows of one shop. The kid
shakes his head. The bounty hunter asks if he knows the
cobble shop on Palais Drive. The kid nods as it's a famous
shop with a glass in front so folks can see the work. The
bounty hunter tells there is a saddle shop 3 stores on
the left from there. The kid nods and the others join up
and divide up sections of town.

Z'leyra comes and watches the boys leave. So that was
the plan? It does speed things up but it might've been
just as fast - and cheaper - to do it but it is clear the
men want to get on with things.

           [Time: 12:19 pm]

Hammerhand sighs and walks to Z'leyra. "I think we won't
find any clues here. It has been too long. There is plenty
of evidence of animals and kids in the area from trash to
that dead bird with the sling in its body. I think we need
to head back to Tiren's place. Wait for the boys to come
back with info. Once they do we should get lunch and maybe
follow up on their leads. If they have any. The house has
no food as its almost vacant. But we can at least wait there."

Kell hears Hammerhand and is happy that someone else has given
up. He didn't want to be the first. He explains that he needs
to do some last minute shopping. Aside form one item it should
be fast at most a couple hours. He'll check Tiren's place and
if can't find the party will head to the Inn.

Kell moves to his horse which he still had from the ranch
last night. It helps to ride for sure while others walk.

           [Time: 12:32 pm]

Back at Tiren's place there is only a couch, the magical
painting and a small table with crates that can serve as
           chairs.

Hammerhand notices the party looking at the odd painting.
"I couldn't see taking it to my place. I will once this
place is destroyed. Unless you would prefer to have it?"
He looks to Z'leyra. For the party he demonstrates the
magic. The wood frame is 3 feet by 3 feet so riding with
it will be a bit tough. Could cut the canvas out but that
might destroy the frame which is where the magic is. Her
uncle taps a small gem on the middle right frame section.
The first still image is of Tiren when he became councilor.
The second is of Tarnack, Tiren's father. He is dressed in
a nice leather riding tunic as he sits on a horse in some
woods. The next is of estimated pictures of her brother
and sisters. When it gets to her twin sister the chief
and bounty hunter stand up and examine it closely. While
it is a estimated not actual painting - from descriptions
and not memory of an actual person it is not exact. But
it does indeed seem to be Z'leyra. Her sister is standing
with a large gray wolf at her side as Z'leyra might have
recalled. But she is only 16 in this image not as Z'leyra
now. This has to be what Z'leyra recalled. Finally the
last image of the nice painting was of Z'leyra when she
got her Healer's degree. Finally it recycles back to the
           Tiren image.

"You are free to take it if not I'll store it until
you come back. I know he had jealous friends on how the
magic was done. I have no clue. It could be a illusion
or just preset pictures that seem to show, I don't know."

The group look to Z'leyra to see how long they should
wait here. Some try to do small char with the new men.

           [Time: 12:40 pm]

At the market Kell asks every single merchant he sees
if they know of any ebony sellers. But as expected no
one seems to know of such.

In minutes he finds a wood shop and picks out a oak
that seems to be in good shape. He finds one that is
8 feet long but it has what could be a bit of rot. But
the other one that is good is 6 feet long and can be
shaped and trimmed for a item. The oak piece will have
to drag a bit but he figures he can place it on his spear
sheath. It might drag slightly on ground but he has to
trim out what he wants regardless. He pays the wood
           cutter the 8 BB.

At another shop that sells books he finds a small blank
journal style book. The clerk says its worth 3 Copper
but Kell haggles it down to 1. The book is 6 inches by
           5 inches.

           [Time: 12:53 pm]

The first two boys return to Tiren's house with negative
reports for Z'leyra They normally charge 1 silver each but
since they have horses only charge 5 copper each.

           [Time: 1:06 pm]

Kell enters a alchemist shop and looks for vials. After
the spider poison fiasco he may want to be prepared. That
is if they ride back another month.

The clerk has all that he needs and for what he buys advised
to get a leather case to hold the vials He shows one that
can hold 20 vials. The case even has a way to slide the vials
inside securely into a niche on the sides. It is 3 Copper and
is well done. The clerk argues it is water proof but would
not suggest tossing it into a river. So light rains might
be fine but not saturation. Clerk says it is 3 copper which
is a steal based on the design. It even comes with a small
tin key and lock. The case is 20 inches wide by 8 inches tall.

The clerk explains there are no brass, copper or silver
vials the best closest is pottery ceramic. But Kell buys
9 8 ounce vials of crystal design with cork. He Buys 6 8 ounce
glass vials. He pays the 17 copper (mostly due to the glass)
and 4 brass bits for the vials.

           [Time: 1:16 pm]

A third rider arrives at Tiren's place. He reports one shop
has made that mark in the past. He gives directions. Z'leyra
decides this is worth 1 full silver.

Hammerhand sees that she is eager to move on so suggests, "I'll
stay for the last 2 riders. Go on. Chances are the other two
will not find it, as I'm sure shops will not try to duplicate
each other marks. It is like horse branding it is not done."

           [Time: 1:21 pm]

Back in the market Kell is on the search for his last
item a gem to use. Each place he asks if there are decent
gem shops. But most are jewelry or gems that are not possible
to enchant - flaws or such. Finally on a tip he enters
a shop which is the 6th one in his fast rush.

The clerk notices him looking fast from case to case. Most
are already in gem form. Kell knows enough of enchanting
gems that it must be a Jewel so it can be then cut down by
hand of a wizard and jeweler to make it a gem to enchant it.
A gem already the size is too late to enchant. Then Kell
recalls he has no actual Jeweler skill so he looks to the
           clerk for help.

"To enchant correct?" Kell looks surprised but the man
nods. "Many students come to find such for their studies
to play on. They are expensive for most students. You
need a large flawless with brilliant clarity to do any
spells. To make a nice item then just get any gem in any
           case here."

The clerk shows Kell two jewels gently placing them on
the glass case on a velvet cloth. "This is Carnelian is
fits what you want. It is worth 30 Silver uncut." Kell
peers at the jewel it looks about 60% of typical size so
its above average in size. "This large baby is a Carbuncle
that is normally worth 80 silver." Kell staggers a foot
back for that price? Course the jewel does is large probably
in the upper 90th percent of the largest such jewels. Making
           it easy to cut.

"Tell you what I'll sell both for 90 silver." He smiles
and Kell knows the game. Kell racks his brain trying to recall
what each type does spell wise. If only he heard Z'leyra
drone on about magic gems rather than rolling his eyes.

           [Time: 1:40 pm]

Z'leyra and the others who join her head to the saddle store.
She questions the owner a man in his 50s with light sale
           and pepper beard and hair.

"Yes. That's my mark. I change marks every month. We
get together once a month and share our marks so we don't
duplicate each other. After the feud 32 years ago we
do that now. Let me check my book. Just a moment."

he heads back to his inner office and some look at the
fine saddles and tack. Hand made rather than quick assembly
line style places in some cities. Good craftsmanship.

The man returns with a thick book and opens it to a page.
"This was over 2 years ago. I almost forgot it. I was using
the half square that year. This would be mid year. Yes
           I made it."

Z'leyra asks if he keeps records of sales. The man shakes
his head. "I might keep them a year. But its too much
paperwork. So it was probably trashed over a year ago. Sorry."

A woman in her 30s approaches from cleaning a newly made
saddle. "Dad. I seem to recall something. There was a guy
came in and said his horse was stolen and was wondering
if his saddle had returned. I guess you were out of the
office. But we never got a saddle returned."

The chief constable asks, "do you know his name?"

She shakes her head. "Sorry. I seem to recall him
though. He had a very ...large mole on his cheek poor
           guy."

The shop owner nods, "I recall him now. He has paid
for at least two saddles in last five years. I can't recall
his name now either. But he has a ...thing for the
tailor's daughter. He had to come back three times while
we adjusted his saddle as it was..." He leans closer to
the chief so not to embarrass the women. "Chaff a bit in
the ...certain parts." He leans back and gives directions
           to the tailor's shop.

           [Time: 1:43 pm]

Hammerhand sees the last two riders and as he figured
there is no report. He pays the men the 5 copper each
from Z'leyra. Then he looks and does a stroll around
the vacant house before this place will be destroyed
           for the new school.

           [Time: 1:53 pm]

Z'leyra and the others enter the shop. They ask the
           tailor who is very busy.

"..what?...daughter?..what?" He continues to work on
a nice dress taking pins form his mouth. "She is
           over there ask her...."

The girl in her late 20s nods. "That would be Silas. We
did date for a year. But he has...issues." She winks to
the women who seem to understand but makes the men shift from
foot to foot in unease. "Not talked to him in months."
She gives directions to his place but then says, "he'll probably
be at work. He works as a librarian at the Writing School
           Library."

           [Time: 2:02 pm]

Kell exits the market and heads to find the group at
           Tiren's place.

           [Time: 2:17 pm]

At the Writing School Library the group waits outside while
Z'leyra and the chief enter. It might be too noisy for the
           entire group inside.

Soon the mole man - the librarian is found. The chief
can't help but to stare with hand on dagger in case it
jumps and starts to attack a very weird looking mole.

"Yes. I recall. It was stolen by the south gate.
I was just about to come back inside the city. I was
hmmm...watering a tree...and suddenly the horse was gone.
I had to walk back to town. I complained. But those
idiot constables could not find it."

The Chief constable not in uniform but normal dress
           smiles faintly.

"Well I searched and searched. Three days later a merchant
found me with the horse. I had left a very expensive book
from Bhamotin in my bag. But it had papers on my name and
he found me. Course the merchant claimed the money was missing
when he found it." The Mole shrugs (I mean man). "If only
the guy knew it was a expensive book! I later sold it to a
shop and claimed it was stolen from this place! Fate helps
at times eh? Sorry I couldn't help further."

The man with the mole that seems to grow every second moves
away. The chief grumbles he'll have to visit this man later
and in uniform. He looks to Z'leyra, "now what?"

           Actions? Comments?
