        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
          Once Ben'Dar puts out the fires on himself, he rushes over
          to calm Xian's horse, and will administer first aid to the
          horse.  (Assuming others will give first aid to Xian...)
        GM: Ack.

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
          Z'leyra will quickly patch (use healing skill on) those who
          got injured, using her burn ointment liberally. After
          checking that those injured hadn't had magical healing in
          the preceding 24 hours she will either cast healing on them
          herself or let others who wish to cast healing do so. After
          the magical healing she will again patch any still injured.

          Z'leyra mentions that "Apparently we are in pursuit of a
          magic user who able to set a magical trap at places we will
          be. Divination, time travel, however. We either have to
          figure some way to blind or outguess him or be extremely
          wary of more traps. Any suggestions?"
        GM: Ack. 

     -----------------------------------------------------------------
     [New Stuff]

         [Decalis 16th, 107th day since left Marentia, 42nd day of
          Adventure #3 of the 1633rd year [TH].]
          [Location: Pavassa Forest - Sacred Forest - Sacred Forest]

         [Time - 8:15am]

         [As the party begin to panic slightly from the shock and
          sudden attack no one saw coming it quickly becomes
          organized chaos.  Ben'dar begins stomping out fires of
          his clothing and gear.  His clothing seems to be smoking
          but not on fire.  Ben'dar curses at the lose of his whip.
          Especially since it was made and given by a cousin who
          died from sickness in his youth.  This makes Ben'dar
          angry at the dishonorable attack.

          After circling the tree to inspect for further magic
          Thig takes to the air.  As he hovers he drops his belt
          and gear to lighten his total load.  He then flies up
          and up toward the tree tops.

          Z'leyra dismounts off her horse and grabs her satchel.
          She rushes over to Xian who is wriggling in pain from
          the fire blast.

          Unali places both hands on her daggers and eyes the forest
          for any person or movement.

          Chion uses his boots to stomp out fires on the grass so it
          doesn't spread and burst into larger fires.

          Arawn goes to Xian's horse and places hands on it to calm
          it down to help it.

          Strie'bog dismounts and grabs his shovel from the horse
          and runs with Farseeker to the burning bush.  While
          Strie'bog shovels dirt to stop the fire the other uses
          a blanket to smother the flames.  Both know the danger
          a bush like this can easily spread and cause a huge
          forest fire.

          Trembyl also goes around the perimeter to help stomp out
          further fires from the blast.

          Unali looks up into the trees to ensure no one is hiding
          among them.  Course if its forest folks she might not
          spot them as others might.  As she looks up she notices
          Thig unfurls his wings to full wingspan.  As he reaches
          the top he lands on a limb for a few seconds and casts
          a spell to go invisible.  She then sees the limb recoil
          from movement as she guesses Thig takes to the air again.

          Z'leyra takes out her healing materials and begins to
          work on Xian.  His clothing is smoking but its amazing
          its not on fire.  In fact burn sores only seem to show
          on exposed skin like face, hands, arms and neck.  The
          blisters begin to show on the skin from the intense
          damage.  Z'leyra quickly figures out the burns on Xian
          are intense and half killed him at least.

          As the burning bush begins to be put out smoke pillars
          up to the forest canopy.  But Thig using his wings
          begins to dance, juke and jive.  Using his wings he
          creates winds at the canopy and the smoke dissipates.

          Ben'dar goes to Xian's horse and helps Arawn figure
          out how to calm the horse.  Blisters also begin to
          form on the horses body and legs from his right side.

          Z'leyra applies her burn ointment on Xian and then
          performs some first aid procedures with the ointment.
          Z'leyra taps her drum and then seconds later casts
          a Healing spell on Xian.  Within a second or two the
          blisters shrink and leave the skin all together.  When
          the spell is over there are no more blisters.  Hopefully
          the first aid and ointment will prevent any blood infection
          from the burns.]

          [Xian wakes up and stares at Z'leyra.  He checks his body.]
          Xian: "Thanks."

          [Z'leyra moves to Xian's horse with her gear.  In this
           case it takes 2 bottles of burn ointment to cover the
           larger area of blisters.  Again after drumming she
           casts her healing spell and the blisters all disappear.
           Ben'dar and Arawn help the horse to its feet.]

          [A minute later the grass and surrounding bushes are
           all put out.  It takes another minute to end the
           fire of the bush.  Z'leyra gathers her stuff as
           Xian checks his horse out.]

           Z'leyra: "Apparently we are in pursuit of a magic user
             who able to set a magical trap at places we will be.
             Divination, time travel, however. We either have to
             figure some way to blind or outguess him or be
             extremely wary of more traps. Any suggestions?"

           Farseeker: "You okay Xian?"

           Xian: "Yes.  Why do these things always happen to me?"

           [Three minutes later after the fire is put out Thig
            finally lands as his spell ends.  He sits on the
            ground slightly dizzy from his flying.]

           Trembyl: "What were you doing?"

           Thig: "Trying to dissipate the smoke.  If the enemy
             is further north of us and set this trap to spot
             any approach its best.  If they saw a single few
             plumes of smoke they know we are here.  But with
             the overcast skies and hopefully enough wind I
             caused it was thin enough they likely didn't see it."

           Farseeker: "Clever.  A trap and a warning."

           Trembyl: "Did you think you got all the smoke?"

           Thig: "Don't know."

           Farseeker: "We better move on then.  If they can teleport
             here we should be long gone and moving."

           [As the party mounts up and picks up gear some look around
            the ground and tree for tracks but find none.  There are
            signs of water where snow maybe a day or two melted.  So
            the tracks might've melted away in a previous snowfall.]

           Thig: "I will lead the party.  I suggest we move in a
             single double column for best results.  If there is
             more magic I will try to sense it.  Arawn can also
             try to do some of it."

           [Within another 2 minutes the party is off again.]

           Thig: "The trap must've gone off from movement.  Its
             amazing Ben'dar didn't burn while Xian did.  Guess
             the luck of the draw.  It could've been worse and
             had half the party burned in that blast."

           Farseeker: "Then why travel in double columns?"

           Thig: "We don't know if there are more traps and their
             numbers.  For detection only.  The first two riders
             should be at least 10 feet away from the second
             row though for safety."

           Farseeker: "Why didn't it go off with creatures or why
             not refire?"

           Trembyl: "In Bhamotin I had heard a Wizard who turned to
             be a Thief created magic like that.  Its a variant of
             the enchantments and such spells.  Though Wizards have
             been doing such magic forever many wizards place them
             on chests or buildings.  Many folks use them like that
             to stop pursuit.  Quite clever spells in that regard.
             They tend to be single use spells."

           Xian: "Clever would not be my word." [Xian grumbles.]

           [Another 16 or so minutes.  Thig raises a hand.]
           Thig: "Stop!"

           [Thig inches forward and points to a bush.]

           Thig: "Another one it seems.  Spread out."

           [The party spreads out a good 30 feet from the bush.
            Thig takes to the air and throws rocks from increasing
            size to the bush but nothing happens.  Thig stands
            and stares trying to figure out the magic but is
            troubled.  He finally puts down his gear.]

           Thig: "I'm going forward."

           Farseeker: "Wait-"

           [but Thig steps only one foot forward and casts a spell
            before the other foot moves.  He then nods and speaks.]

           Thig: "I just did that to figure out my immediate future.
             It looks like it causes..it will..it would have...cause
             a Terror like spell.  We've seen that on Clima plenty
             of times.  We could easily avoid it though.  Unless
             anyone wishes to approach and end the magic?"

           Trembyl: "It would be a shame for others to stumble against
             the spell."

           [Actions can be inserted here if folks wish to do something.
            Either way the party will eventually move on.]

           [The party heads north after giving clear path around the
            trap spell.

           [After another 20 minutes or so Thig stops the party
            again.  Trembyl in the second row dismounts.]

           Trembyl: "This one is an illusion.  I can see straight
             through it."

           [Trembyl studies the bush and tree for a few seconds.]

           Trembyl: "There is a trip wire that seems to release
             a spear that way.  it would likely only hurt those
             walking.  That seems to be the illusion just blocking
             the view of the tripwire and spear."

           [Trembyl picks up a rock and throws it toward the trap
            wire.  After three throws the wire is hit and the
            spear flies toward the tree but hits no one.]  

           [Again actions can be done here but either way the party
            can easily avoid the trap and move on.]

           [The party continues northward.]

           Xian: "I just worry about other traps that might be
             in the area for the Vassa that might be in the area."

           Farseeker: "We can't go on the plains or we'll be seen
             before we get there."

           [Strie'bog explains that most Vassa do not live within
            a good 5 miles of the forest edge for obvious reasons.
            Namely that of Humagi raiders.  Since these traps are
            less than 2 miles from the edge there is likely never
            to be any in the area except hunters.]

           [Corona flies near a tree and reports to Z'leyra that
            the party is now due west of a cabin like structure.
            The party figures that must be what they saw.  The
            party dismounts.]

           Trembyl: "Best leave the horses here so they don't
             warn them we are scouting.  I'll stay here with
             the horses."

           [Quietly the party creeps eastward.  The sun is facing
            the party so its slow moving as Thig and Arawn check
            for traps.  Those with forest survival and combat
            training like Farseeker also check for simple more
            mundane traps.  But none are found.  The party notices
            the plains now only about 25 feet ahead.  the party
            creeps up to the edge and peers through the thick
            bushes and trees.]

           [The party studies the cabin for some time.  Based
            on what Corona has prewarned the party the following
            is learned:

            There is a single wooden cabin like structure only
            150 feet away from the forest edge.  There is
            a large and burning campfire to the south of the
            cabin.  A railing in the west of the cabin has 10
            tied up horses.  Another horse with a mounted rider
            seems to be far to the east moving about slowly
            as if on patrol.  There look to be standing around
            the cabin edges watching the forest and plains.
            One man is standing at the trailing tending to
            the horses.  Other men are sitting around the
            campfire.]

           [It has been a few minutes since Corona did a aerial
            view which is dangerous in itself since he could be
            spotted.]

           [As the party begins to creek back into the forest
            deeper a black crow squawks from a tree and flies
            up and out into the plains having been scared by
            the party. The crow came within a few feet of
            Farseeker in its escape.]

           [As the party gets out of sight of the forest edge
            everyone stands and moves quicker.  The party
            begins to discuss plans.]

           Farseeker: "Only a dozen or so.  Shouldn't be that hard
             to deal with."

           Thig: "But we don't know who or how many are in the
             cabin."

           [Strie'bog closes his eyes and concentrates on the
            balalaika.  He moves in a circle and the sensation is
            strong at this point even more so than just 20 minutes
            further south of here.  Strie'bog is convinced his
            mother must be there in the cabin.]

           Xian: "Look at the cabin?  It looks freshly made.  The
             sap on the cabin hasn't dried or hasn't been cleaned
             up like its been there long enough.  Usually animals
             and weather would clean it up quickly like on
             Strie'bog's home."

           Thig: "If she is there it makes sense.  If they move her
             further away from the forest she dies.  Yet there
             she is in limbo not in the forest or outside it
             either."

           Thig: "Look Humagi to me."

           Farseeker: "Notice the ground?  Very dry dust.  Means
             walking around picks up tracks and movement easy.
             Not a good thing for stealth. So what do we do?"


          [Time - 10:05am]

          Actions? Comments?

          GM: Map is below as of what is seen at the forest edge.
            Anything in east of the cabin not seen by the cabin
            itself maybe outdated information.

         GM: Remember beside the combat plan you can do actions
             for the previous 2 traps if you want.  I would
             like to start the combat if the party actually
             decides to fight that is (who knows you could always
             just leave!?) by next Friday.  This gives a full
             week of planning actions. 

            Note: Sun - Position is now in the North East side of
                        the cabin at about 30 degrees.  Thus
                        it will shine on the party coming east
                        but not be a problem for those looking west.

                  Weather - Cloudy and cold 50s temperatures.
