I deal with it more or less the same way Burton does. And yes, that means
that characters get lots of exp in shield. even more, as after most heated
battles we tend to forget if those hits were shield hits or normal hits
and, as a result, characters tend to get shield expertise even when they
didn't receive a shield hit. But you can blame that on bad
administration/gm-ing.
