         [Recap]

            From Raddok: [Re: Actions[
                 [Ma 9th, 11:59 AM]
(OOC to GM: this is a wordy
update; please feel free to edit out what seems to be repetitions)

Raddok's mind was still a bit dazed after the morning’s long

GM: Ack. Posted it all since unsure
what is good to lose and not lose.

            From Fremea: [Re: Actions]
                 Fremea wonders if there really
is any need to be here, as the

GM: Ack. A good post love the double meaning.

            From Opus: [Re: Actions]
Opus is ready for any adventure
anywhere he is not sure of much

GM: Ack. That is one thing I should
say. For these updates stuff is in Dwarf
Elder which you do both know. Since live in a
dwarf nation. ;) So for this area its dwarf elder
unless like Kimis does below or others state
otherwise like Marentian then you will understand it. Good first post.

            From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
While trying to be alert to dangers as any bodyguard should,

            GM: Ack.

            From Dorhak: [Re: Actions]
Dorhak sighs at the request. He
knew there was something not

            GM: Ack.

            From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions[
                 Z'lyeyra's head jerks around at
the mention of demons. Striding

GM: Ack. Congrats you are post #1000!

            From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
                 Kiet listens to the Eastern
Lands lecture with rapt attention.

            GM: Ack.

         ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
         [New Stuff]

         [Ma 9th, 1636TH]
         [Time: 11:59 am]

Raddok's mind was still a bit dazed
after the morning’s long lesson on the various
cultures & countries of this Western (Eastern? -
he was now thoroughly confused what to call it)
land they had been ported to. He now bitterly
regretted having not had the opportunity as a lad
to learn to read & write. His father’s estate
manager, however, had secretly taught him numbers
& principles of estate management, but the boy
Raddok had rebelled at learning to read the
official documents involved with it, since his
father had refused to acknowledge his existence.
Although the staff all accepted Raddok as a
legitimate heir, the only one in direct descent,
the young human child had always just ‘blurred
out’ during those reading lessons, and snuck out
to run around the estate, talking to various
farmers, loggers, miners and other staff employed
to run the various enterprises that made his
father, a Legionnaire, a rich man (if a
fairly-often absent landowner). He liked the
people, but stayed out of his father's sight once
he realized that his father would turn his back whenever Raddok came into view.

All he could do, without any means to
record the information they had all received, was
try to remember country names that seemed to be
good folks & those that sounded good to avoid.
But he felt rather overwhelmed by the end of the
morning, with no way to write it all down. He was
briefly bitter about it, but realized quickly
that there were a lot of sharp minds among his
friends, and they would have no hesitation about
sharing their own views of what they had heard.

If having the tome had brought them,
however inadvertently here, maybe this was a home
for it – of some sort anyway. But he felt that
the more experienced members of this group he had
joined, might have gleaned more from all the information they had been given.

Raddok was more than ready to hear
them all out before making any decision of his
own. Between them, there was a lot of information
that might help make the decision for their next
movements, and whether or not the tome went with
them, or stayed here in whatever vaults this besamar community offered.

            Raddok still felt some discomfort
here, despite his familiarity with dwarven
dwellings and dwarven works, but maybe it was
just the ancient presence of giants. The folks
here certainly seemed to accept his own weird
group, and he had become fond of his new friends,
as oddly mixed as they were. And now they seemed
to have enlarged by one or two more members.

Raddok laughed to himself. Does this
bunch always gather up such strays as they
venture out in their search for justice in various parts of the world?

Fremea wonders if there really is any
need to be here, as the dwarf drones on and on
about all the land stuff. She does think that
there could be a point to some of this, then he
goes on again to another place. So boring. Then
he mentions the Fae and she does listen a bit
more closely, she always thought there had to be
more places, but she was not given that during
her 'training'. Then he moves on again, and she
just starts to look around the large library. She
thinks of the library at home, and wonders how
Kaylle is. Her face softens as she thinks of him,
and hopes to see him again soon, maybe for another dinner or lesson. She sighs.

Then Fremea notices the weird human
looking at her again, and she tenses some. Why
does this being stare? If they weren't guests in
the place she would just ask, in her own way.
Showing her smile, not smile at that to the
human. Ugh! Etain and Arawan! Why did they teach
her to behave in other company this way, to wait
for the right opportunity and to be respectful?!
She shivers a slightly, realizing that they are
done with the information and the dwarf is
getting a bit weird, something Arawn said. Of
course he did. They are asked to go with the
other dwarf, these ones all look a bit the same
to her again, only no beards, still so weird.

They are finally brought in the dwarf
court, not sure what that is called here, and
still these humans are with them too. Why? Gods,
she needs to be able to fly around and think,
maybe she could come up with what is going on. As
they enter the court, her hand goes to the
dagger, sensing more tension than before, she
looks around wondering what is about to happen
and prepares to do what she was trained for. Then
the tension is released as the other dwarf tells
the guards to leave and for the party to sit. She
calms herself and looks at the other humans,
still wondering why they are there at all.

The dwarf tells them the king is
missing and asks for their help. Damn, why don't
they just pick a new one and be done with it. Not
like royalty really is all the important. They
always seem to make dumb decisions. A flash of
the scene on the roof of the library pops in her
head of being bowed to and called Queen. She
shakes her head. "Fine, let's just go find this
king of yours." Under her breath, 'not like it
seems to matter.' "Though one question, I
understand why our group is here, I am not clear
on why them?" She uses her head to acknowledge the other humans in the room.

Crix nods, “a valid question.” Kimis
seems to grunt as she is curious as well. “If
the tome bought you here. There is a bigger
destiny...” Fremea rolls her eyes whenever folks
mention destiny its like this super special thing
but its not that big a deal. “...that maybe
things are linked. Maybe Bes or others have a
hand in this? This is why we've not demanded the
book back. We are in desperate desire to
safeguard it. But it has to be your wish. As to
them.” He turns to face the two orange eyed
humans. “You spoke of fleeing your land. This
is something not normally done if ever. I would
dare to say you are the first to leave your
area. I'm sure you had a valid reason. But if
you are here to flee and explore this is a way to
do so. Saving the king would go a long way to
having the respect and duty to protect you from
your people. This sanctuary ...” They crinkle
their nose and clearly don't understand the word
so Crix rephrases. “Our hospitality would be
boundless. Plus...you clearly do not fit in here
well. That will take time. Saving the king
would make you honored guests and heroes. You
are not obligated to help. None of you are. But
if not we only ask you ...keep this silent until it can be resolved.”

            Kimis grunts, “heroes...get...stuff.”

Crix shrugs, “this could be arranged.”

Opus is ready for any adventure
anywhere he is not sure of much what is being
said, but he has heard of the word cave before .
He is just ready to leave his home. He does have
some fear of going to a cave. He seen the scared
looks on the faces as they talked about a cave,
but he just doesn't want to be back home.

If Kimis wants to go, he will follow
her anywhere. He slowly raises his head and
shrugs his shoulders to Kimis in a fashion that
behooves confusion. He then blows her a kiss. He
is just glad to be here, anywhere but home and
with Kimis. Far far far away from home as one can get..

All of a sudden his thoughts flash to
the past and a angry scowl crosses his face as he
lowers and rapidly scratches his head in a deeply
nervous fashion. Embarrassed by this he stops and
hopes no one notices, and tries to look natural.

Kimis nods, “I go. Just one
question. If king dead do we still
.are friends?”

            Crix nods, “of course.”

Kimis smiles and turns to Opus then
speaks in her native tongue only he knows, “We
use them and have fun. You wanna?”

While trying to be alert to dangers
as any bodyguard should, Z'leyra listened and
appreciated the lecture. She has enjoyed learning
her entire life and liked that the speaker was enthusiastic about his subject.

Dorhak sighs at the request. He knew
there was something not right. He looks back to
Grix (no, Crix! That's it!) and says, "yes, I
think we will need to discuss this. Especially
since some of these people have not agreed to join the crew."

Kimis leans to Opus and whispers, “what is crew?”

Crix nods and bows, “certainly. Just
tell the 2 guards outside to fetch me when you
are ready.” He moves to the door, “they are there
not to keep you here but as their normal duty as guards.”

            after Crix leaves, Dorhak
continues. "Bah! I’m not sure this place is
secure enough for the Tome if they can’t keep
track of their King! On the other hand, I’m
inclined to help with this. We need help to get
home, and there should be some reward if successful."

"Be warned, however! If they go to
this extreme to keep the loss of their king a
secret, it wouldn’t surprise me to have them try
to keep us permanently quiet. As in betrayal and
death. If they give us rewards, the kril will
wonder why us foreigners are being so honored."

"Before we begin, I want to make
certain at least one of you magic slingers can
deal with demons. They are one of the biggest
dangers in the tunnels. It’s why the priests are needed in a dwarf Kril."

Kimis frowns and narrows her eyes,
“daemons? If they can be hit with a axe they can be dealt with!”

            Barbosa considers this all, “the
reason I came here was to regain some

..honor. I was never a dwarf in high regard
back home before I was captured. Many picked on
me. Doing this...if they even believed
it...would possibly change that. I almost died a
couple days ago. What else can go wrong? I'm game.”

Z'leyra's head jerks around at the
mention of demons. Striding over she softly says,
"I am not the world's expert on demons, but I do
know an enchantment that can help protect against
them. Given a few days I could make and enchant a
brooch, belt or bracer to help the wearer in any
encounter with chaos creatures such as demons.
Given a week I could make three or four such items."

Kiet listens to the Eastern Lands
lecture with rapt attention. This is more
information about this area than he even knew
existed! It’s not like Kiet had any expectation
of knowing about this, but all sailors
talk. Some tell kraken tales, some just shark
tales. But there were always rumors about this
area, just no details, and all of it third or
fourth hand. Now there are details
enough...enough to get himself killed back
home. Those secrets were enforced, if the rumors were true.

            Afterward, finding out about the
Besamar king missing, Kiet begins to think about
the details necessary. First of all, we have
three unknown 'companions' joining us. Some
dissemination of abilities and experiences are
needed, and just from the Red Ones and our
one-eyed thief, but the rest of us will need to
cough up info for them to hear. Fremea should love that part.

            Probably before that, the language
issues need to be removed. Easy, though. There
is also the question of food, water, and how do
we see in the dark. Even the elves and dwarves
can’t see in total dark...and neither can Kiet
even with his night sight spell. He wonders how
long he can keep that spell going now. Hmmm. It’s been used every night watch.

            Kiet hasn’t spent any time
underground. He doubts he will be of much use,
but there'll be two Dwarves plus Raddok. Maybe
even Pyan can put his trailing skills to use.

Hmmmm...food...Kiet wonders if his little toys will work.

Barbosa sees Z'leyra stand and move
across the room. Guess seating is over. He turns
and looks around. “So I gather...Myself, Dorhak
and them.” He nods to the red skins. “Are wanting to help out. Any others?”

As Barbosa speaks, Kimis also stands
drawing reflexes from some like Fremea and Unali
to reach for now missing weapons. She moves
toward Fremea. She kneels down on her haunches
to be eye level. Then glances around. She
whispers in her native tongue then when Fremea
looks confused to Dwarf Elder. When Fremea
doesn't seem to understand that – she has been
using Raddok to translation this entire trip –
she glances to Raddok and coughs. Kimis frowns
and Opus moves to her side patting her
shoulder. Kimis stands and scowls. Kimis
repeats louder and Raddok translates. “You hear
to watch me? I grew up among you but I grews,”
Raddok keeps that word spelled correctly,
“up! You will not...not..let me be and I'll let you be!”

         GM: Actions? Comments?

Next Update – Tue/Wed. Depending on what day I haw free.

GM: Dorhak has said ok for quest. But
I'll see if others want. Once Dorhak gets Crix
back in we can move on. Will try either Tue or
Wed depending on spare time. I think I may have
solved the email issue. ISP spam got some
emails. So spam is fully disabled. If not who knows!
