         OOC:  anybody have anything on the care and feeding of a coufee
         dagger? Post from Kell on actions..
       GM: Ack.  The dagger is a bone dagger.  It may be primitive but
           it fits to their tech level of natural things (no metal).  They
           are still quite deadly and sharp though.  I typed up a bigger
           description in the Items file/link on the website (#22 item).
           If interested. So no need to care or feed them.

         [OOC - To clarify and make sure stealth isn't broken, this was a
         daydream until the last two paragraphs.  Just for something to
         add, and cause I wanted, needed a change right now.  Hope it was
         fun to read.

         Coufee dagger?  Doesn't it take cream and sugar?  :-) ]
       GM: Ack. I enjoyed the scene.  Nice imagery.  Wish I could see
           more of it like a certain game you run? (Subtle hint).   I only
           changed some of the names since were closer to the people and
           not the others.

         [Augado 10th, 1634TH]

         [Time: 12:51:23 pm]

           Kell begins to chant very quietly, gesturing with his hands
         slowly and methodically.  The chanting is a very grating, grinding,
         earthy sound that most have no idea what the crazy half-elf is
         saying, or why he's saying it.  Fremea can sense the mana
         gathering around Kell, large amounts of mana, more than usual for
         most spells.  Whatever it is, it's fairly large.  As the mana
         gathers and swirls, the colors blend well into the cave, almost
         as if the mana is coming from the walls and earth surrounding the
         attack force.

           Finishing with a small flourish Kell grins his assassin's grin.
         Time to really rock this cave to it's core.

           Chanting again in the same rock-like fashion, Fremea watches as
         this time even greater mana is pulled to Ha'Kell.  His chanting is
         very quiet, and Arawn can only hear because of her keen ears.
         Other's aren't sure if they're hearing Kell or some slight shifting
         of the cave around them, perhaps the start of a cave-in or just all
         the earth shifting, finding an easier and safer resting place.  The
         mana grows and grows, coalescing into a small point containing a
         large impact.  The point grows at a steady pace, pulsating and
         becoming more than a point, almost a chalice or cornucopia size
         and shape.  Suddenly Kell pauses, looks up from his chanting,
         scanning the area.  Reaching out and taking the energy, he flings
         it towards the largest group of Vong, those at the north-western
         area.  Fremea can see the mana spray out in a fan, then converge
         on the other side of the lake and just seemingly disappear.

           Nothing seems to happen.  Silence as Kiet and Kell watch Fremea
         take down her shaper.  Nodding to each other they continue with
         the assault group, moving quietly and watching Unali's back.

           After ten or so seconds, Kell starts chanting yet again,
         grinding granite into powder with his voice, bringing quartz out
         of sandstone, and crushing the sandstone into powder.  Fingers
         barely moving, the half-elf focuses intently, both on his voice
         and fingers, and looking across the lake towards the large Vong
         group.

           Fingers flying now, faster and in some obscure fashion, it take
         s only seconds for the intensity to abate.  Chanting for another
         few seconds then pausing, raising his hands and gesturing across
         the lake at the largest Vong group, Kell finishes with what sounds
         like a boulder bouncing, smashing into a thousand shards.
         Watching this, Raban and Chion know something may happen, but
         what?

           Captain Lin raises his sword toward Kell once he hears the
         chanting.  As others stare at Kell for his strange behavior
         to break stealth they don't notice the Captain moving.  Once
         Fremea finished off the Warrior they also turn to watch the
         strange Half-Elf.  Fremea can notice the large increase of
         mana around the trader.

           Captain Lin now realizes full well these heretics are here
         among him and they must die.  He charges Kell eager to end the
         magic user swiftly.  But once the earth opens up and swallows
         the Vong he stops in mid-stride.  Captain Lin seems to finally
         understand that maybe a charge on him isn't good.  

           Less than a second later the earth starts to shake and bounce,
         everyone's footing becomes treacherous.  The floor begins to move
         up and down, side to side.  In front of the group, going directly
         away from Kell and towards the large Vong group the cave floor
         suddenly splits, opening up into a large chasm over 4' wide and
         15' deep and dropping several Vong inside it.  The water from the
         lake begins to pour into the chasm, ripping away all the growth
         nearby.  If this continues, the entire lake will be affected,
         hopefully killing the growth.  As long as the walls don't collapse
         onto everyone...

           As the earth continues the shake, the Vong looking around in
         wonder, suddenly there is a small mana explosion, for lack of a
         better term. Watching as the mana Kell threw to the Vong first,
         that mana explodes! Appearing in a mili-second, two very large
         mounds of rock and dirt become real.  The Summoning of the Earth
         Elementals completes, and these piles of destruction begin
         pounding the Vong into dust, as the lake continues to drain into
         the chasm, growing fields loosing the necessary water as Shapers
         and Guards both begin to panic.

         [Time: 12:51:23 pm]

           Nodding in satisfaction at a job well done, watching the
         wholesale destruction of the growing pool and the Vong, Kell
         shakes his head. Daydreaming like that in this intense time leads
         to problems, or deaths!  Shaking his head again, refocusing, Kell
         watches as Unali finishes the shaper and pays closer attention as
         Unali waves the group on.

           Forward creeps forward, holding his spear and shield at the ready,
         with a wand in his shield hand, using his all his sense as much as
         possible. This is no time to get caught by some stupid trap!

           Fremea with her keen eyes moves westward after scoping the
         eastern side of the lake.  She can't spot Unali as she is virtually
         invisible in the dim light. But she does faintly detect some blades
         like Farseeker's great sword showing they are waiting.  Fremea
         figures Unali is still acting since the Shaper in her area is still
         standing.  Fremea figures Unali is still getting into position for
         the first strike on the Shaper.

           Now that Z'leyra is visible and back on the ground she explains
         the small portion of the area she scouted. Fremea takes the quick
         report and moves on figuring out her next target.

           Fremea moves about 80 feet west and waits a bit to scan the west.
         She is concerned about the torch about 30 feet further away.  It
         shows all the way to the water edge.  This makes it very hard to
         sneak by.  She knows it is a huge risk but she decides to just
         douse the torch out.  She gets closer and tosses a pile of dirt
         onto the torch and pushes it down to the ground.  She glances
         north to the other side of the lake to see if there is a problem.

           After watching the north side the Vong there do not seem to
         be yelling or moving fast.  Either they don't care about the
         loss of light or it is common place.


         [Time: 12:52:13 pm]

           Now with the torch out the nearest torch is almost 200 feet
         away to the west.  This section of the cave is very dark. The
         light glow of the lake water itself seems to only give the
         way for the Shaper to work.  

           Fremea waves for the others and tells them it should be good
         to creep forward.  But she continues to take the lead.  The
         Shaper to the west is about 140 feet away.  She creeps to the
         dark south wall and watches the Shaper.

           The Shaper doesn't have a snake hood on and their typical
         gown is missing.  This might be a shortened tunic version of
         clothing for the Shapers.  The Shaper is tending to a growth
         of Orbs.  It seems she is using a small blade to shave
         some leather like structure away from the orb like it must
         be a second skin.  Fremea isn't sure if it is a full coufee
         dagger or a simple tool.

           While Fremea studies the Shaper the others creep along the
         south wall.  The full darkness is easy to elude their full
         movements.  Will and Kell move forward in the group.  The
         others trail behind.  Z'leyra and Will can still communicate
         as that spell is still active but may not be for long.

           Will and Kell watch the warrior in the distant north walking
         away toward the north side.  He is about 100 feet away.  They
         figure the Shaper will be dealt with Fremea.  

           Will studies the warrior and creeps west.  Ahead of Will and
         Kell is a dark niche or wall area.  Z'leyra warns that when
         her dark sight was active she saw alcoves in the area.
         But as Will slows to study the dark area his eyes do not adjust
         as quickly as a Sidh.  A form lunges from the niche and races
         toward Kell.

           The warrior thrusts his amphistaff toward Kell but Kell twists
         just in time.  With Kell's better vision he saw the blow just
         a tad before it came.  The amphistaff slams into Kell's shield
         and bounces off with no effect.

           Kell quickly reacts and thrusts his magical spear toward the
         Vong warrior hitting him in the middle right chest and does
         a few points of damage. 

           Moments ago Will wasn't in the stalking and hunting stance.
         But now with some renewed confidence he feels better to use
         dagger than the tulwar.  So he has the dagger in hand when the
         Warrior attacks.  Will swings at the Warriors right neck as best
         he can based on the blur of gray he can spot in the almost total
         darkness to his eyes.  While the blow was meant for the neck
         it lands in right shoulder and does 11 points through the heavy
         armor.

           The warrior thrusts at Will this time and misses the man by
         a few inches.

           Kell thrusts again the magical spear does a moderate wound on
         the warrior's left arm.  Blood spurts in various places but
         the Vong seems unfazed by the pain.  In fact the strange creature
         seems enhanced by it.

           Will swings again at the Vong's neck and this time hits him in
         the left shoulder doing a minor wound through his thick armor.

           Kiet considers using a rope to entangle the Vong but its so
         dark he isn't sure if its the Vong or the others nearby.

           Raban charges past Kiet and Zhou and tries to spot the Vong in
         the darkness.  It helps that they have larger heads and gray
         so its easier than humans.  He guesses where the Vong is and
         punches forward to the rear and right of the warrior.  His right
         fist impacts on the warrior's lower back and crushes a few ribs
         and does internal damage.  The warrior slumps to the ground from
         the damage.

           At the same time the warrior lunges from his alcove the Shaper
         turned around to hear the noise.  She hears the rustle of
         movement and what must have been Kell's spear sliding against
         the warrior's amphistaff.  Standing up and tall she glances
         backward.

           Fremea loses her chance to ambush the Shaper and realizes
         something is going on behind her.  But she can't leave the
         Shaper from her eyes as it too dangerous.  Fremea runs
         the few feet toward the Shaper in hopes to land her good strike
         but the dagger is too far wide in her haste.  She misses and
         the small Fae laps up the pond water around her boots.

           The Shaper startled by Fremea's attack drops her tool into the
         water and reaches down to a pocket of some kind.  A small object
         about the size of a large ball is seen.  The shaper reaches up
         with her left hand and begins to massage it.

           Fremea with her good eyes figures the ball could be a bug or
         worse yet a small Orb or light or other weapon.  She doesn't
         want the team to lose stealth by a Vong warning.  Fremea acts
         on instinct and does a twist and thrusts with her right food.
         The Shaper goes flying backwards into the Orbs and into the
         shallow water.  The ball goes flying somewhere into the water.
         The Shaper seems to be injured from that simple move and
         Fremea is surprised.  Her training of martial arts under
         Arawn must've worked better than she realized.

           The Orbs around 30 or so go bobbing back and forth as if
         in a rough wave when the Shaper hits the ground.   The Shaper
         seems startled and dazed as she tried to get to her knees.

           Fremea goes in for the killing blow but the Shaper sees the
         the blade and ducks just in time.

           But then Fremea sees a form behind her and a blade swings
         near her side.  The blade, a sword, impacts onto the Shaper's
         right side and does a massive strike.  The Shaper falls to the
         water as blood pours out.

           Fremea turns around to see Captain Lin behind her less than
         a foot away.  Slightly surprised she nods and then twirls back
         around to ensure the Shaper's throat is finished with a quick
         slice of her blade.


         [Time: 12:52:50 pm]

           Fremea glances across thw water and to the western edge.  The
         Vong on the other shore and the nearby warrior doesn't seem to
         hear anything or react.  She stands still for several long
         seconds in hopes the Orbs don't yell out.  She finds they
         only wave back and forth.  but they don't seem to open out in
         their "face" like mode.

           Fremea glances to the east and notices the Shaper in that area
         is now gone.  No sign of the others at this distance but he
         figures Unali has made her move and went forward.

           Unali moves northward and waves the others to do the same thing.
         For Unali's black clothing she is hard to see.  But for the others
         who follow behind they have to crawl on the ground for some
         way to get past the next torch.  The torch is seen by others
         to the west so it is too dangerous to knock out.  So one by one
         each person has to crawl by for the 10 feet or so to get back
         into the darkness.

           Unali ends up around a rock area and watches the Shaper and
         Warrior closely.  While the others cross over in the darkness
         some ensure the area is not full of Vong.  Arawn uses his eyes
         to scan for any alcoves.  But finds the place is empty.

           Unali finds Arawn nearby and gives a quick sign language
         call to the Alfar, "wants to join to take out the Shaper and
         Warrior over there?"

           Unali plans a joint assassination attack on the warrior. If
         successful Arawn should break the fall of the warrior, to reduce
         any noise, and Unali will continue to attack the Shaper,
         hopefully also an assassination.

           Fremea finds the next obstacle in the way, the nearby torch.
         The group is huddled together and no Vong is hiding in the
         nearby corner.  but The torch is a clear beacon toward the
         north guards.  The warrior that was in the south has moved
         up north and is facing those at the door.  It is unclear if
         he is chatting or not.  But the warrior is about 90 feet
         away from the warrior and the 2 entrance warriors.  

           Fremea figures the next thing will be to take out those two
         or now three warriors.  If just one exits the cave through
         the door or whatever it is, it could be a disaster.  Once
         that is done the others on the north shore should be trapped.
         At that point those will be dealt with openly rather than in
         stealth unless another plan comes up.

           On the north east corner Unali also considers these options.
         She hopes to take out the nearby warrior and shaper but then
         will have to deal with the others.

         Actions? Comments?

         Next Update....Monday...

         GM: Was a bit sick so couldn't finish the update last time.
             This is a small update per se but there was a lot of
             behind stuff done.  I'm working on a experience system
             to make life simple.  I'll talk about that next update.
             But I did get bogged down so had to get some stuff
             behind scenes covered.  May be a small update but
             it was a lot of work.  I plan to go to work in bit over
             a week.  So I may be getting back into the groove of
             things.  This could affect the Thursday updates as will
             lose 2 hours of work that night due to needing sleep.
             Now I'm up to 3.  But will be 1am after that point.
             I also hope to get new computer so will take some time
             away.  So some things may be erratic.  But I hope a new
             update for Monday for sure.

          GM: Just a reminder.  Just saying you will do something like
              "attack X" or "ambush Z" is fine. But unless its more
              detail I'll do the basic stuff. The more risk and detail
              you include I'll act on.  If you forget to check the
              corners then things will happen.  Plenty of time has
              gone by no one mentioned those details so Will/Kell
              were attacked as a result.

         GM: I asked if folks wanted coordinates in the story or not
             last time.  So I removed them from the details since
             no one commented on them.  To me it does look odd but
             adds to spice.  But either way is fine if you can follow
             along on the map.

         GM: Fremea's team - Around the edge at roughly O5. The torch
             is at L5 about 30 feet away.   Torch light is 2 rows/columns
             in every direction around it.  So this is as far as L8 or so.
             Making creeping by hard especially with 3 guards at C3 or so
             about 90 feet away (Vong 7-9).  So you'll need to figure out
             how to get close to the Vong.  The next torch is at F2. 

             Unali - Unali/Arawan roughly at D53.  Other people are by
             that area.  Torch is at A34.  But one just around the
             other side of the wall at D51.  Anyone going around the
             corner will be seen. The torch and water area is only about
             10 feet before the Amphistaff growth at F51,  So the
             problem of that light will have to be dealt with as well
             before one can attack the Warrior and shaper at C37.
             The two are about 140 feet away.  So that will have to
             be figured out.  Let me know of plans.  

             Vong 7,8 Facing East/Right.  Vong 9 Facing West/left.
             Vong 5 facing north/Up, Vong B facing south/down.
             Other vongs facing various directions.

             If need more info let me know will answer over weekend.
             No active spells active.  Time is synched up for both
             groups.

   Light by torches go as far as 30 feet but usually 20 feet around
