          After listening to Zhou, Fremea will stay in the wagon being
          the "good" daughter she is.

          She will cast Sonata if there is a good place to do it.
          Hopefully this will allow the coral stuff to get out of the
          Barroness.
        GM: Ack.

        From Raban: [Re: Actions]
          <If I recall correctly Raban is down enough to kill some people
          even if it is a scratch for him, so yes he should get healed some
          before we run into more trouble.

          <And if he has enough mana left, he can heal others as well if
          they need it.

          <Question to others: Raban still has a Bless running as they last
          days. Do you think this is more risk for the group? Bless is
          likely much rarer here and would not be used by any mages or
          wizards that visit so it should only be picked up with generic
          sensors.

          <Raban is likely to be quiet for a while as he thinks over all
          he heard, there appears to be no right answer
        GM: Ack. EL0   All others have not said they need healing so
            I'll assume natural healing.  As to Bless it is a aura
            spell so those with natural senses could sense it if attuned
            for it.  But on the generic sense you know from your Bardic
            training that no bards simply visit here without great risk.
            The network of bardic communication is far more efficient
            than for Wizards.  Rumors and warnings can spread up the
            bardic network fast.  As a result the Bards stay clear of
            Katai.  While Bards are mostly to common folk storytellers
            or entertainers many know them to be users of magic.  So
            they are easy prey.  Those that visit Katai tend to
            be Bard Poets or pure Bard Musicians.  So you are right
            most detectors would not be used to finding a Bless spell.

          Kiet laughs and takes the reins once more, saying nothing else,
          but just encourages the horses to move along...."H'yah!"

          Z'leyra will spend half her available IBT time teaching wound
          treatment/ bandaging techniques.

          [General Knowledge version of Healing skill, half cost] She will
          spend the other half learning Tailoring skill from Will.
        GM: Ack. Who is learning this first aid?  Just a generic
            teaching session? 

        From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
          Arawn nods his head respectfully. "If something so unfortunate...

          Arawn agrees with Zhou that the baroness should be treated here
          and hopes that he will gain some insight into the best possible
          cure once morning arrives and he's had a chance to commune. He
          worries that teleporting her while she carries a Vong organism
          within her could prove a high risk, both to herself and to the
          teleporter. If Fremea ends up casting Sonata and Arawn is aware
          of it he'll mention that Rua send that the growths react in
          different ways to different sounds or energies and it might be
          best to avoid casting the Sonata until he's had a chance to cast
          Wisdom. If she does cast it he'll keep an eye on the baroness and
          move quickly to pull her out of the range of the Sonata spell if
          she begins to react in an unpleasant manner to the Sonata.
        GM: Ack. Fremea has planned to do the Sonata.

     [New Stuff]

         [Julis 26th, 1634TH]
         [Location: Middle Katai Plains, Shantou Province]
         [          20 Miles south of Shantou City       ]
         [          Old Shantou Carnival Grounds         ]

         [Time: 3:50 pm]

           Back at the carnival grounds while the others discuss the
         merits of two parties, magical items and to use the wagon or
         not, Raban prepares to heal himself.  Raban quickly casts
         a simple healing spell upon himself to heal his light wound.
         A wound that would be serious to Fremea but a mere scratch
         to Raban.  He quickly passes his hand over the wound and speaks
         the magical words.  The green energy from his hand begins to
         work quickly and heals the wound completely.

           Will aka Sun Tzu soon realizes the party has decided to
         maintain the current situation with the wagon.  When Farseeker
         gives his opinion on tactics he replies.  "He who is prudent and
         lies in wait for an enemy who is not, will be victorious. Strategy
         without tactics is the slowest route to victory.  Tactics without
         strategy is the noise before defeat."

           "Strategically we must be united but tactics will often require
         that we divide our forces to be able to surprise our enemy. The
         more things we are prepared for the fewer will surprise us. The
         opportunity to secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own
         hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by
         the enemy himself. "

           Farseeker's eyes glaze over.  "What language was that?  Sounded
         pretty.  You must be spending too much time with the Professor."
         He smiles and glances briefly over at Whitney.  

           Arawn considers Farseeker's words.  He seems to take the words
         seriously but Farseeker may have implied a sick joke.  Arawn nods
         his head respectfully.  "If something so unfortunate were to occur
         then I would prefer to be brought to a sidh stronghold, perhaps
         the faerry mound in the Vassa. The sidh will know what to do. But
         if transportation is an issue I am sure that Raban or Strie'bog
         would be able to go over the proper procedures for a burial."



         [Time: 8:17pm]

           At camp the party rests and sleeps.  Some practice skills
         or fashion their gear.

           Around the campfire Kiet is seen quietly casting some spell
         but only those with the mana senses see the aura of a shield
         spell active.  Kiet then notices the looks of the Sidh and
         decides more privacy may be needed.  He stands and asks Ben'dar
         to escort him out into the plains as guard.  Both men walk
         into the darkness and Ben'dar can't see but can hear Kiet
         cast about 6 more spells before both return to the camp.

         [Julis 27th, 1634TH]
         [Location: Middle Katai Plains, Shantou Province]
         [          30 Miles south of Shantou City       ]

           The party wakes up a bit bone wary and tired after the Vong
         battle.  Most regain their mental strength after a good breakfast.
         Today the party travels 30 miles down the highway.  The skies
         are overcast and temperatures range from 60s to as high as
         83 or so. So it is not as hot as it has been in the past.  

           Morning arrives and Will finds himself healed a bit from his
         wounds but finds his energy level seems the same a bit drained
         still.

           Ben'dar wakes up to inspect his wounds and finds even with
         Z'leyra's treatment the wounds are not one bit healed.  They
         seem even a bit redder.  Z'leyra helps to treat it again in
         case they are infected.

           Caladan wakes up to inspect his own wounds and finds the good
         treatment to work.  The wound is completely healed.  

           Farseeker wakes up to find most of his wound has healed but
         a very minor scratch which he leaves unbandaged now.  

           Chion wakes up and finds his energy is much better.  He
         feels no drainage at all.  The leech from the grounds must
         have been very minor in energy attacks.  

           Kell wakes up and his head doesn't ring as much as it did last
         night at camp.  He didn't take physical damage but a massive
         subdual hit by one bounty hunter in an attempt to knock him out.
         But that non physical damage has worn off by now.  he still
         feels drained a bit of his energy though.  Even his right arm
         which was limp during the whirlwind battle doesn't tingle as it
         did last night.  

           Strie'bog wakes up to find about half of his own wound has
         healed at this point.  He gets Z'leyra to treat the wound again.  

           Unali wakes up to find some of her wound has healed but it
         remains a light wound.  Z'leyra helps to treat it again in case
         of infection.

         [Julis 28th, 1634TH]
         [Location: Middle Katai Plains, Shantou Province]

           The party plans another 30 miles of travel today on the highway.
         The usual road traffic is seen from the lone peasant walking to
         the pilgrim large groups on a mission to some governmental
         function or something.  It is overcast today and a heat front
         rolls in from the coast.  Low temperatures are in the 60s but
         the heat gets intense and slows things down.  At some points it
         goes to triple digits at the least 100 degrees.  This causes the
         horse and those in the wagon to seek rest from movement and
         drink plenty of water.  

           Morning arrives and this day Will finds himself completely
         healed and no sign of his previous wounds show.  He removes
         his bandages.  But he still feels his energy has not recovered.

           Ben'dar wakes up today and removes his bandages and becomes
         happy to see his wounds have healed finally greatly.  There
         is just a minor scratch left which is not a big deal.  It is
         even not worth treating.  But Ben'dar is still depressed his
         leather armor is destroyed.  

           Farseeker wakes up to find even his scratch is gone and fully
         healed now.  

           Chion wakes up feeling almost good as new.  With his major
         teleports he has recovered much of his mana back quickly.

           Kell wakes up but finds he remains a bit drained energy wise.

           Strie'bog wakes up to find the Vong wound healed all but a
         very minor scratch.  Not enough to even treat at this point.

           Unali wakes up to find her wound has completely healed. 

           Z'leyra wakes up to find she feels stronger with her energy
         drain from the Vong leech seemingly healed fully.  

         [Time: 2:44pm]

           The heat has made road traffic slack down from the usual
         dozens on the road to a slow trickle as folks seek shelter
         in nearby villages or the tree they can find.  Most farmers
         are not moving this late in the day due to the heat.  It has
         to be in the mid-90s now.

           The last large group to pass the wagon was a group of 4
         entertainers on horses who were grumbling about going to
         a new town for a job in this heat.  That was a good 20 minutes
         ago.  Now there has been no sight of others.  Until now.

           The highway itself radiates heat and the usual plain mirages
         and heat illusion plays tricks in the distance.  The wide terrain
         less plains allow one to see for miles with the naked eye.  Ben'dar
         and Kell ride up front in sentry duty about 100 feet ahead of
         the wagon.  Fremea is inside hiding in the sweltering darkness
         from the blazing sunlight.  Arawn is also inside at this time
         with Unali and Zhou.  The sun shy are especially vulnerable to
         this intense heat and sunlight.

           In the distance a large group of horses is seen in the south
         coming in the same direction.  At about 500 feet from the
         forward scouts the group of horses slow down.  They seem to
         recognize a wagon as a rich merchant or a noble.   The horses
         decide to ride off the highway and go east of the road.  This
         is not unusual as many do this.  Most defer to the noble wagon
         or the rich merchant.  The only ones that stay on the road
         and care less tend to be military or patrols or those of the
         same or higher rank.  Most peasants simply step or ride off the
         road to give the party a wide berth.  The only ones of lower
         status that do not defer are those with large wagons that find
         it difficult to ride off the road.  But even still they try
         to give the party a wide berth.

           Up ahead the scouts notice the horses are all being rode on
         by males.  They seem to have a person or two on the saddle
         with them.  Again this isn't too unusual as some peasants
         ride two to a saddle.  As the groups close in the riders
         ride about 30 feet off the road to the east or left of
         the party.  They soon pass the scouts and the scouts watch
         them.  The men are dressed in modest but not expensive
         looking simple cool tunics.  All have swords and daggers on
         their belts.  Some riders have bows and quivers.  Weapons aren't
         unusual as well as many in the Empire have them.  But for a full
         group to have them must mean this is a hunting group?

           The scouts and soon the party notice most of the men glance
         briefly at the party but do not make full eye contact.  Some
         talk quietly or whisper things.  Those with keen eyes notice
         some of the men are scarred on their faces.  But this is again
         not so unusual as many farmers and peasants get scars from
         their daily life.  

           The group of 12 men are now alongside the wagon with the scouts
         again about 100 feet ahead of the party.  It looks like at least
         3 maybe 4 have bows but most have light looking swords.  A couple
         of horses seem to have sagging leather bags.  Some have backpacks
         that are slightly stuffed looking.

           All this is not so strange as it has been seen before.  Though
         12 fully armed is a bit odd.   No.  The odd thing is 3 of the
         horses have females behind the men.  One is a lady in her
         30s it looks.  The other 2 are girls in their late teens
         it looks like.  Two of the girls look forward not ever looking
         to the party.  But what is odd is that one girl who might be
         16 or 17 glances briefly at the party and then at the men
         around her.  She repeats this a few times.  When a horse to the
         side of her blocks the party's view she is briefly lost in the
         group.

           When the girl is seen again she quickly glances to the party
         and makes eye contact with Kiet and Z'leyra on the top of
         the wagon. She then mouths something and glances forward.  She
         then looks back and mouths something again.  The look on her
         face is that of sadness.  Those who see the silent mouthing are
         Farseeker, Kiet, Z'leyra and Raban.  When the girl does the
         mouthing again a third time those who see it finally realize
         what she is saying.  But as they realize this a horse blocks
         the party's view.  One of the men reaches out to the girl and
         speaks softly to her and then glances to the party.

           The girl mouthed, "help me!"

         Actions? Comments?

         Next Update...Monday...???

         GM: Some minor errors still being worked on from the Vong
             experience/expertise chart.  Some skills or spells I
             didn't post.  One was Two Weapon Fighting for 2 folks.
             I do tend to forget this skill like shield sometimes.
             Please keep me honest if you see it missing and remind
             me.  I do tend to forget this skill and will try not in
             the future.

         GM: Short update for now.  I wanted to do the first night's
             camp stuff more - the treatment of the baroness.  But
             I ran out of time.  I will try that in the next big
             update.  You may also notice I didn't cover notes on
             Fremea and Arawn's IBT/status.  I have to work on those
             later as they have some things I need to work on first.
             Arawn/Fremea if you need a mana report for this update
             let me know and I can try to push it through to you
             this weekend.  Keep in mind the next 2 days I'll be
             on a mini vacation.  I won't get to email till Thursday.
             Because I usually work on update early and rushed
             Thursday I may not have time to do a full update Thursday.
             So if one comes out it might be small.  If not then it
             will be a full one on Monday.  This gives you time to
             react to this first highway encounter.  If I get motivated
             and don't fall asleep I'll try to work on update and
             some emails over the weekend.  If I can.

             Fremea your fully healed but Arawn had some damage and
             will cover his posted previous actions to heal those later
             in the next update or so.  I'll try to send emails
             to you guys on current status if it makes your actions
             needing that info.  So stay tuned.  I will try to
             at least get to you two guys Thursday before anything else.

             Technically the first 2 days of IBT are over magic wise.
             Mainly for mana purposes.  I can rework the numbers though
             if needed if you insert new stuff.  I have dates and notes
             in each sheet so can track it.
