OOC: It seams to me that it would be to the overall good to maximise the
abilities of the party members to not only get into trouble but out of it as
well.  If my calculations are correct from a height of just over a 1000' you
could see about 40 miles to the horizon so a couple of hops would put us
well out to sea. If you needed more expertise, a few el 0 hops to get you up
to el 7 could save our bacon latter.
