     [Recap]

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
"An honor to meet you, A'kril Mantos." Z'leyra inclines her
head slightly. "Your trespass into the air over the lands
controlled by the greatest known human wizard attracted his
attention. He sent us to see who was so rude to do so without
his permission, or if necessary to control this floating island
so that it does not endanger that which he values."

"Until you can satisfactorily explain this trespass I believe
that we shall retain our weapons, though thank you for the offer
of temporarily relieving us of their weight."

Z'lerya then translates for those of the party that did not
          understand the language spoken.
        GM: Ack.

                        ----------------------------

        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
Ben'Dar glares back at the armored man. It is clear they will
be locked in combat in the very near future.

He whispers back to Caladan in Zen'Dali, "But violence has
already been done against us several times since we arrived in
this place. By pets of these men no doubt."

Upon hearing the dialogue between the bearded man and Z'leyra,
Ben'Dar's eyebrows go up in surprise. He hadn't expected
negotiations to last this long. When the translation is provided
by Z'leyra, Ben'Dar snorts at the bad joke of giving up his
weapons. He nods in agreement to Z'leyra's mention of the
castle's trespass into the Wizard Ga'sha's lands. He mutters
in Marentian, "Remind these fools that we have already been
attacked several times in this cursed place. We should kill
          them where they stand."
        GM: Ack.

                        ----------------------------

        From Raban: [Re: Actions]
[It took a while for things to final get through Raban's thick
skull, but it was quick enough. Smiling like nothing is wrong he
          says...

Raban (to others in Marentian so they dont understand) "Dont
repeat what I am saying, just act like you are explaining things
to me. These people are not who they act like they are. I am sure
they have never been of more than moderate importance before.
Maybe at most a low placed noble and someone of fair military
rank, but I doubt even that. Definitely not someone you would
entrust a place like this too. Also the one acting like a noble
is hiding a small object under his clothing at his waist.

He thinks he has a major advantage over us, likely that the metal
man makes him invincible, not his own abilities." <I should have
said that faster, but that can look suspicious too.> [Raban
continues to act 'dumb' (acting?) and satisfied with any reply,
knowing many assume such of him anyway.

<To the smarter people out there... Its a fair chance that the
object controls the metal man or more or is of other importance.
Any pickpockets?> <Warning: Raban could misinterpret things too,
but some things he can be quite accurate about. LOL >
        GM: Ack.

                        ----------------------------

        From Fremea: [Re: Actions[
Fremea steps back to a more natural position after Z'leyra waves
her down some and talks. At this time, she realizes that this is
not her best skill and steps to the side towards the wall she
noticed, motioning Kiet with her. Just close enough to point it
out to him, though not at all obviously.
        GM: Ack.

                        ----------------------------

        From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn restrained the urge to sigh when he heard the parties
reply to the man, though Raban's words lingered in his thoughts.
This is not how diplomatic negotiations would have begun in the
courts of the upper realms but he had held his tongue too long
and now lost the chance to ease into things. Perhaps, though, it
might not be too late to salvage things before it turned
unnecessarily ugly. A look crossed his face that hinted that he
was not comfortable with escalating the situation and he knew he
would likely be the only one to comply to the release of weapons,
a risky maneuver if it was a trap but he felt confident in his own
abilities to fare without them. Carefully undoing his sword, bow
and arrows he placed them at a central point between both parties.

"My apologies for the intrusion, Master A'kril, we were unaware of
your presence here." He nodded slightly in respectful
acknowledgement. "If it would ease you I will release what I have
so that we may talk, though I cannot speak on behalf of the others.
          May I have a seat?"
        GM: Ack.

                        ----------------------------

        From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet laughs at the demand to disarm..."Ha-ha-ha-ha....no." (face
laughing at first, then switches to serious at the "no".) Kiet
will follow Fremea as motioned and whisper "What's this about?".
I'll keep my eyes on the two gentlemen not of our party.

If the swordsman reaches for his sword again, I want to use the
Abandon spell on him at the highest EL I can use in one phase. If
the gentleman with the suspicious bulge tries a spell without
first our communicating party members saying it's OK, then I
will cast the highest EL Entangle I can use in one phase and wrap
up that sucker (throw the rope at him).

IF they both make their moves at the same time, then Entangle
the supposedly un-armored one...the other players can chop up
          the bodyguard.
GM: Ack. Problem is he could reach and unsheathe the sword in a
second or two. A phase spell takes 3 seconds. Also the other
man could cast a spell in his native language and you have no
clue if he is just cussing at you guys or casting a spell. So
how would you know if its a spell? :)

     [New Stuff]

        [Ma 2nd, 1633TH. 5th Day of Adventure #4.
[Location: Chaos domain, Dark Lands, 9 Miles up, Flying Island]

        [Time: 10:18am]

[A'kril introduces himself and Z'leyra follows up as protocol seems
         to dictate in these situations.]

Z'leyra: "An honor to meet you, A'kril Mantos." [Z'leyra inclines
her head slightly.] "Your trespass into the air over the lands
controlled by the greatest known human wizard attracted his
attention. He sent us to see who was so rude to do so without his
permission, or if necessary to control this floating island so
that it does not endanger that which he values."

[As Z'leyra speaks a sparkle in A'kril's eyes become obvious of
disdain and arrogance. A sign of ego Z'leyra and Raban have seen
in many situations. An eyebrow arches at the word "rude" and a
smirk that tells so much in one movement more than words can
ever do. A smirk seen by vile thugs before they slice open a
elderly women for the few copper she might have. The smirk that
tells a noble has total control over his slaves and can do what
he pleases to them. Z'leyra continues knowing all this and hopes
         to balance the situation.]

Z'leyra: "Until you can satisfactorily explain this trespass I
believe that we shall retain our weapons, though thank you for
the offer of temporarily relieving us of their weight."

[Without looking away for more than a second or two Z'leyra then
translates the last minute or two of conversation.]

[Ben'dar continues to stare a stony face at the armored man who has
yet to address the party. It seems he doesn't know the language of
the Sidh or cares to speak. Ben'dar has seen the type of man
before. He seems obviously protective of the bearded man. When
Kiet tried to move forward he got into a stance that clearly showed
he didn't like the approachment. The man must be the bearded man's
personal aide or bodyguard. That type of man is above the average
grunt and tends to be a well trained fighter. Ben'dar's adrenaline
begins to start at the thought of a worthwhile challenge.]

[As Z'leyra taunts the bearded man Ben'dar whispers back to Caladan
         in Zen'dali.]

Ben'dar: "But violence has already been done against us several
times since we arrived in this place. By pets of these men no
          doubt."

[Caladan sighs at the comment. Since Caladan was resurrected by
Cetric it seems he has become more for life and the moment rather
than always heading head first into reckless battle. Caldan
wonders if his own pet snake accidently bite Ben'dar would he kill
Caladan? Pets are protective of masters and the spirits that guide
them. Cetric may be alot of things but he always taught Caladan
that life should be respected if can. Of course Caladan has had
his share of murder of animal life in self defense of course.
Ben'dar has noticed the wizard become more withdrawn since last
saw him. Ben'dar notices Caladan is starting to act more like the
talk-talk Arawn than the kill first and talk later Farseeker.
Ben'dar wonders if Caladan's mental abilities have changed from
his life changing event. Ben'dar's thoughts come to the present
when he hears Marentian from Z'leyra.]

[When Z'leyra translates the conversation so far Ben'dar raises an
eyebrow in amusement and surprise. Ben'dar snorts at the silly
idea of releasing weapons. Why is it bad guys always try the
same thing? Is there some secret society meeting place with rules.
Rule #1 Have big ego. Rule #2 Trap or ambush your enemy at all
cost. Rule #3 Once captured it is good idea to explain your evil
plans before you kill them. Rule #5 Kill your enemy with pain and
torture if able. Rule #6 Obtain a evil face or laughter for your
reputation. All the same these bad guys. Ezam was the same way.
Tempt Chion with ego and power. Try to capture the body in
multiple ambushes and then try to kill them. Ben'dar wonders if
there is some rules for good guys to follow aside from Thwart Evil
Plans and Bad Guys. Ben'dar nods in agreement to Z'leyra's
mention of the trespass into the Dark Lands. Ben'dar replies
back in Marentian in a low mutter.]

Ben'dar: "Remind these fools that we have already been attacked
several times in this cursed place. We should kill them where
           they stand."

[upon hearing the translation Kiet begins to laugh at the joke
          of releasing weapons.]

Kiet: "Ha-ha-ha-ha...." [then turns serious] "no."

[A'kril glares at Kiet with a smile like a predator about to
eat the prey it just caught.]

[Raban listens to the strange Sidh language and seems to get a few
words like the bearded man's name, meet you, air, land, and value.
but the words in between aren't known. Elf Sidh can only do so
much for the supernatural sidh tongue. Then something is
mentioned about weapons. Raban is glad when Z'leyra translates
the full conversation. Raban smiles as if happy to be in this
warm and nice place. Raban speaks in Marentian to the party.]

Raban: "Don't repeat what I am saying, just act like you are
explaining things to me. These people are not who they act like
they are. I am sure they have never been of more than moderate
importance before. Maybe at most a low placed noble and someone
of fair military rank, but I doubt even that. Definitely not
someone you would entrust a place like this too. Also the one
acting like a noble is hiding a small object under his clothing
at his waist. He thinks he has a major advantage over us, likely
that the metal man makes him invincible, not his own abilities."

[The armored man listens to Raban but seems to show no sign
of knowing the language. He only gives the tall giant a brief
          glance during the speech.]

[Unali listens to Raban's word and finds it fascinating but
the iron man is not here. Not a big factor at this time.
She turns her attention fully to the armored man.]

[Fremea listens to Raban and Z'leyra talk and translate back and
forth. She realizes this isn't her area of expertise and backs
off talking for now. She creeps a bit toward the wall where
she noticed something interesting a minute before. She looks
to Kiet and motions him to the wall as well as discretely as she
can. She uses her right wing to cover her arm so only Kiet
can see it and points to the wall and looks at him in the
eye. Kiet tries to look at the wall for a second then looks
away in case the men are watching. Kiet follows Fremea to the
wall but looks a bit confused. He whispers to her.]

         Kiet: "What's this about?".

[Kiet glances to the wall but doesn't see what Fremea does and
glances back to the two men alert to their antics.]

[Arawn flexes his fingers in concern at the discussion the party
has taken. Threats and rude comments doesn't make things
go well for peaceful talks. By now gods would've killed the
          mere mortals for such comments.]

[The bearded man turns as Z'leyra translates into Marentian the
previous conversation. He strides slowly as if in thought
toward the fireplace and pokes around a log to shift the fire
a bit. The fire poker could be a weapon but looks so less
ideal a weapon to the sword on his hip. The armored man remains
still while the bearded man turns his back on the party and
moves a log to prevent smothering of the fire. Patiently he
places the fire poker back into a stand at the side of the
fireplace in front where a tiny ash shovel and tools are for
cleaning. He stands up and uses his right hand to touch the
mantle over the fireplace for leverage. He stares at the fire
as Z'leyra finishes up her comments in Marentian. Arawn steps
forward to speak but suddenly the bearded man whirls around
and a sneer is on his face. This causes the party to immediately
tense in readiness for battle. But the man simply speaks in
a high tone of clear anger.]

A'kril: "You dare speak to me like this in MY home? You say there
is a powerful wizard below us? If he was so powerful why
would he send barbarians and creatures." [He waves a left
hand at Fremea] "to this place? Why not handle it himself if
he was so powerful." [the last word is icy as if in clear
sarcasm.] "How can you say one person owns the air? No one
owns the air and I can go where I please and how I wish. You
trespass on my land and you claim I invade this petty land?
You dare claim this wizard sends you to stop or control this
island?" [He gives out a loud laugh] "You will not give up
your weapons and you claim I'm rude? The audacity of all
          things sacred."

[Z'leyra cringes at the obvious yelling but not so much at the
tone or threat as to giving away that the Elder is all powerful
to strange people. Knowledge is power and if such information
got out to strangers what could come of it? But then again it
is not a secret he is powerful just rumors swirl as to the
         details of his power.]

[Unali moves a few feet closer to the wall section she detected from
her quick scan of the room. The seam is very subtle and well
hidden but her trained eyes from Aren'a quick crash course in
intrigue seems to have worked out. She inches along the wall
slowly as the conversations continue. She glances over to the
armored man who has only said a couple of words and studies him.
He tends to keep his gaze shifted from person to person but mostly
stares or glares at Ben'dar, who glares back. From Unali's quick
study she figures him to be confident through his own combat
training or confidence from his armor. That tends to be deadly
but confidence in skills can lead to bad situations and long
combats. The way the man holds himself clearly tells her that
he is always battle ready and likely in a position to always be
on guard. Based on that conclusion the man must be A'kril's
bodyguard. Bodyguards tend to be the better of normal grunt
guards and better trained. Making him a worthy enemy. The way
he barely seems to need to draw his weapon out indicates he is a
         quick draw and read.]

[Unali tries to scan the wall with one eye behind her cowl. With
the other eye she maintains contact on the armored man. A'kril
seems not to care about this side of the room at all. But for one
Ben'dar's ruthless barbarian nature is handy. The armored man
seems to watch Ben'dar more than Caladan and Unali. Using this
she stretches down to shift her boot. At one point that does
draw attention to the armored man but she digs in with two fingers
as if pulling out something or cleaning it. the armored man
looks back to Arawn and the others and Unali glances to the
seamed wall she figures to be a secret door. With her right
hand she combs her damp hair as if to string it out and make
sure it is dry. Doing so she glances left to the wall and looks
for any sign of device to open it. After almost 10 seconds she
finds one section of wall that seems less dusty than the others.
Inching closer the section may be a couple finger widths and
ring size as if a finger or thumb is used to push against it. She
figures that might be the device. Unali's attention is drawn
to the right again when Arawn makes a sudden change of tactics.]

[Arawn steps another foot forward but hides his emotional revulsion
for the sudden turn of events. He glances at Z'leyra but she
doesn't look back. If only he could get her attention to stop.
He makes a mental note to teach some diplomacy. Arawn realizes
this next moment or two could determine blood and death shared
on both sides. It is still unclear if these strangers are
evil or not. Arawn knows evil is relative in this plane of
the true worlds. It isn't clear cut like in the upper realm
courts. Evil is subjective to one's point of view. While
evidence seems to indicate this man is likely chaos oriented
he may be so ancient or in some way maybe his great ancestors
were that the border isn't so clear cut. Back in the time
before alignments there were no clear sides just one happy
cosmos. Before the God Wars there could be no distinction of
who was good or bad. Sure the pets like Ben'dar says did attack
but were they defending the place or just here on a hunt or
here sleeping the day? They all could fly so maybe they
were just passing through? Arawn decides the risk of coming
out of this peacefully is best. If these men were to die the
knowledge of the long dead civilization would end. These
men could be a living example of history not even known to
the so called great thinkers of Ticasi. Arawn bows his head
and holds up a arm to silence Z'leyra who now glances over.
Z'leyra unfastens his sword sheath and places it on the ground.
He then pulls his buckler, quiver and bow and places them onto
the ground. This immediately makes the bearded man stop speaking
and look surprised. The armored man looks to A'kril and seems to
wonder what to do next, clearly not expecting this move. Arawn
speaks in Sidh back to A'kril.]

Arawn: "My apologies for the intrusion, Master A'kril, we were
unaware of your presence here." [He nodded slightly in respectful
acknowledgement.] "If it would ease you I will release what I
have so that we may talk, though I cannot speak on behalf of the
others. May I have a seat?"

[Arawn places the weapons and arrows onto the couch and continues
to speak. As he finishes the bearded man nods in some confusion
at this sudden turn of events. Arawn decides on a place to sit.
The couch looks good but is close to the men. In order to relay a
clear respectful distance from the men to help show his deference
he sits in the far right chair.]

GM: Since didn't say where you were going to sit down I figured
on the above protocol. If in a friendly situation would've
            sit closest.

[A'Kril watches Arawn sit on the satin seat and then looks over at
the others to see if they release their weapons. When they do not
seem to follow suit his upper lip twists a bit.]

[Arawn folds his hands on his lap in a peaceful gesture and waits
for A'kril to respond. Behind him he notices Fremea looking
nervous and confused by the new turn of events.]

[Being aside Arawn Ben'dar glares at Arawn as he places his weapons
on the couch. What is it with Elves? Jordi was like this, wanting
to talk than fight. Talk stars wars, battle ends them. When Arawn
sits down he grips his pike in some disgust at the almost lack of
concern for his own being. Why would he just sit with no weapons
in a strange room. Could Arawn be under some spell or something
that makes him a bit crazy?]

[Caladan notices Arawn's attempt and stands tall rather than leaning
on his staff. He knows he ins't as skilled in diplomacy like Jordi
or even Arawn it seems, but talking to other tribes on the plains
is enough to know this situation is about to flare up. The others
are too overconfident it seems in this matter. Two vs the party
is no match but the bad guys are also overconfident. That means,
even Caladan knows, that they have something in their favor. He
shakes his head at Ben'dar, Z'leyra, Raban and Kiet all seeming
to taunt the host into a battle.]

[Fremea continues to try to get Kiet's attention but it seems he
is too interested in the party to notice the seam he sees along
the wall. She becomes shocked when Arawn gives up his weapons
and heads to sit down. Maybe it should be better to protect
him rather than back up near the wall?]

[Unali hears the translations and is amazed to see Arawn just
surrender to the host here. She may not be a master spy like
Suresh Nambler but she had enough training under Duke Aren's staff
to know surrender for a spy is sure death. No. Not a good thing.
But it may take time to figure out what is going on in this room.
Unali is aware enough that the bad guys are overconfident in their
body language. Sure the metal man could take out a few of the
party with ease but surely it has to be more than that? The closest
party member, Caladan, is too far to whisper what she also detects
in the room. Unali finds that she can do without a weapon or two
if it requires diplomacy. She quietly slips off her bow and
scimitar and places it with a clink on the glass table. But
not so far as to get at a moment's notice. The armored man
notices this but A'kril seems to fascinated by Arawn. Unali
knows that her daggers are probably more deadly than her
scimitar or bow in most situations.]

[A'kril Mantos looks to Kiet then to Arawn who sits down. A
few seconds pass and both men stare at each other. Then the
         man gives a boastful laugh.]

        A'kril: "You I like."

[Arawn smiles glad to get this reaction. A'kril turns to the
fireplace and shoves his heads out to warm them. Then he
         shakes his head.]

A'kril: "But your friends waste my time. You are clearly the leader
of this group but they do not follow your actions. They taunt and
boast themselves for their own ego. You seek peaceful means to
          this intrusion to my home."

[Suddenly he raises a hand to his head as if a headache comes to his
mind. Arawn tries to lean to the right to get a good look at his
face. He isn't moving his lips as if casting a spell but seems to
be thinking. Could he be an innate caster? He nods his head as
if in reply to something. No. That isn't the move of some caster.
Arawn has seen that reaction from Thig when using Telepathy.
Fremea has also seen that from Thig. Not a good thing. This
man is either getting a telepathic message or sending one. Yet
he isn't casting a spell. A'kril glances to the right at
         Arawn's seated position.]

A'kril: "You killed all my guardians?" [His face becomes ice
in a glare of rage. A'kril turns around and speaks something
in his own language. The Armored man hears it and it seems
to be only 2-3 words. A'kril steps forward and lifts his hands
up but doesn't begin to gesture as if casting a spell.]

[As A'kril speaks outside a muffled clank is hears as if the metal
man seems to be moving away from the door.]

         A'kril: "This can't be tolerated."

[Arawn notices A'kril's left boot is slightly raises on its heel
as if about to step forward. Then A'kril seems to repeat a
movement of pushing the foot up and down. Before Arawn can figure
it out a click is heard in the room. Then another click.]

[Suddenly the two north doors open and a figure in the halfway is
seen holding a loaded bow in his hands and pointed into the center
of the room at the party. Their faces are blocked by shadows and
mostly below the waist is only seen. The doors open into the
north hallway. At the same time 8 feet in front of Unali's
position on the left wall, a secret wall section shifts to the
side and a man holding a sword is seen in the dark hallway. As
with the others the room light seems to only show his stomach
down. Fremea facing south and looking at Kiet, Arawn, the men
and wall turns when she hears the secret wall section she
detected moments earlier move to the side and reveal another man
with a sword. Beyond is pure darkness so only from knees down
is seen but the sword penetrates into the room and shines from
the fireplace light. Fremea holds her dagger expecting something
like this but not quite this fast.]

[Arawn glances over his right shoulder and behind him to the man
holding a bow right on him. He sighs as he realizes the man
must've triggered some floor mechanism to open the doors and
secret walls. But how did he warn his troops if he wasn't
expecting the party? Arawn sighs and realizes the man did earn
and touch the mantle twice. Concentrating back onto the fireplace
Arawn leans slightly down to look under the mantle and notices
something shiny a gem of some sort which probably is the device
          to warn his troops.]

[Ben'dar growls lightly at the new threat from the door on his
side of the room. If he moves now toward the armored man he
could be fired on but his armor would likely protect him. But
if Caldan were the target he could be hit. Things have changed
but still not all that drastic. More men means more people
          to just kill.]

[Fremea glances at the man standing in the threshold of the secret
wall section. His sword seems to be normal but the stance is
battle ready. She hears the door open up behind her but doesn't
look away in case the man stabs her in the back.]

[Kiet turns to the right and sees the swordsman and now knows
what Fremea was apparently trying to tell him. his choice to
attack the other two men are now hindered by two other men
the bowman and swordsman in this area.]

[Raban glares at the bowmen and figures he could move before they
fire, he hopes. But Fremea could be in trouble. He glances
tot he left and sees Unali might not be seen by together man
so she could be safe. He figures Z'leyra's armor might
protect her from the bowman leaving Fremea likely the least
to be safe for now. Behind him he hears muffled clanks and
it sounds like muffled speaking. He wonders if Chion is
          talking to the metal man?]

[Unali sees the man in the threshold of the secret wall she
detected a few moments earlier. She clings to the wall so
not to be seen. She doubts she is by the man and his sword.
But now she knows why A'kril was overconfident. Reinforcements
have now arrived. She wonders what other tricks he has up
          his long sleeves.]

[Z'leyra sighs and sees the new threat in the room. It seems this
is the part where the bad guy brings up his final threat to have
the party release their weapons. But she is surprised to see
that almost 4 minutes have passed in talking to A'kril. Longer
          than Ezam if she recalls.]

[A'kril steps back a foot and then turns to Arawn.]

A'kril: "You people disappoint me. I'm afraid in order to talk
like civilized men we'll have to talk when things are better."

[A'kril speaks a few quick words but doesn't gesture with his
hands as if casting a spell. He seems to bark a command. He
          glances toward Arawn.]

A'kril: "I will save you for last. So we can talk like civilized
men. Your people can still stop this by releasing their
weapons. If not they will die."

[At the bark of his command the bowmen raise the bows in taunt
fashion and the swords are raised in battle stance. The
armored man places his hand on his sword ready and seeming
          eager to draw it.]

[The party figures the man is either bluffing or willing to see
who will take the first strike.]

[Outside in the foyer it sounds like a muffled voice is heard but
not that of Chion's but another person - almost low pitched like a
         female's?]

        Next Update...Monday...

GM: You guys could still disarm you know :) But if you need to
fight it looks like who will blink first. Keep in mind how
movement has occurred in the past combats. I have to work up
new movement charts this weekend for the bad guys in case you
guys do decide to fight - I might be shocked! :)

GM: Arawn keep in mind your sword, buckler, bow, quiver are on the
couch (I figure ee23). That's about 12 feet away to your
weapons. Unali you still have your daggers and sling I figure
but the scimitar/bow/quiver is on the glass table (NW corner,
            only about 3-4 feet away).

GM: Facing Notes on each character at below.

GM: Delay - Busy week. I had a lot of behind the scenes stuff
to research and prepare for. Here is some information though.
            I have taken 9/11, 18, 20, 25, 29th of this month off. So those
days will be good for working on update early to avoid TV show
conflicts :). Mondays will be Heroes, MiddleMan, Terminator for
example. So I may work on updates a day early if possible
(Sunday/Wednesday). So good to have posts early if possible.
I know folks are busy so as soon as folks can that's fine. I
can still do lots without folks doing actions so I will do
some prep work ahead of time either way. I'll know more
on the last 3 months of the year later. But this is the time
of the year when I have only 3 or 4 day work weeks. Since I
save all my time for the last 4 months. :)

GM: Unali - Your map position is a little rough. Your actually
between rows ee/ff 3 feet south of the door. You figure
your not seen. Your back up against the wall and so not
to be seen. So technically 3 feet from the man not 2.
