-offering- of one's a daughter in marriage. Which was
done and -returned- with you here. It is
understandable why you cannot marry another. But -you
have returned with the gift- as the test required.
Even if it must be relinquished due to your prior
marital status."

He'll wait to see if it sinks in to Cetric's little
brain... smiling all the while...

And he's thinking as well "Good thing you didn't know
what the heck you were doing old chap..."
