          OOC: Sorry for the late posting.
          Jordi buys the needed food for the trip, and pays for the trip.

          He will cast a EL 0 purification to help with the friendly
          currents spell, and then he will cast a luck spell (EL 0) before
          casting the friendly currents spell at higher EL posible,
          recasting it until it works.

          Once the spell effects disappear, he will cast it again, highest
          EL posible, recasting it until it works.  And he will follow
          this pattern until he doesn't has any left mana points, or we
          reach destiny.

          Of course, he won't cast any other magic while in the ship.
          Priority is to reach Caladan family ASAP.

          Returning to more mundane matters:
          "Well, Ben'dar, I'm very good, well, in fact, I'm excellent
           with sign language, so if you want to learn a thing or two, I
           will glady help you."

          (OOC: Ben'dar knows that Jordi is a little bit -to say the
           last-oveconfident about his abilities...).

          (OOC: Jordi's initial idea was to learn more about navigation
           in rivers... is it posible to teach Ben'dar and also learn a
           little bit about it?).

          Jordi will try to speak with Kasha about hiring mercenaries;
          and he will also try to speak with Kasha and Farsekeer about
          military matters, mainly about sieges, coordination of allied
          armies in the battlefield and logistics.  It's obvious for
          everybody who knows him a little bit that he is very fested
          in the topic... in fact, he seems to be trying to memorize
          everything!
        GM: Ack on spells.  Yes on Navigation.  Ack on talking to
          Kasha/Farseeker.  Plenty of time for that.

     GM: I've heard from Unali.  So we'll continue.  I will be running
       Unali as a NPC for a time as he deals with things on his end.

     Sepes 18 and 19, in the 163rd Year [TH]
       Location: Cholchara City, Marentia

     Sepes 20, in the 163rd Year [TH]
       Location: Sea of Cholchara, Marentia

       [The players find a merchant ship that is heading toward
        the distant port of Asichi city.  Caladan, Z'leyra and
        Farseeker all haggle with teh merchant captain for expenses
        and finally its all paid up front.  The merchant normally
        would take a load of cargo back with him but he explains the
        profit of horse carrier is more this trip so hes happy.  He does
        emphasis however that if there is any danger like fire or such
        he is not responsible for any loses in horses. But this is all
        too typical of a merchant's point of view for risk.

        Two hours before dawn the cargo and the horses are loaded.  Just
        as the blue twinge of the rising sun starts to be seen the ship
        - Gallant Traveller - heads out into the deep Cholchara sea.

        The merchant anchors at night near shore since the sea is known
        for fast currents which ground ships on reefs.  During the
        night the crew and players sleep on deck which at times can be
        cramped.  The horses all share the cargo hold where they have
        enough room to walk around just a narrow bit.  At night when
        the ship sets anchor the merchant ship gets close enough to
        shore to lower a ramp for the hroses to wade, walk or swim to
        shore.  This is a must so they can get some minor excercise and
        do other biological things.  This routine keeps the horses happy.
        When they get grumpy Z'leyra and Kasha are known to help soothe
        the animals down.

        The ship begins the long 120 odd miles to the next city on the
        other side of the Cholchara sea.  During the day Thig stays
        below deck.  Finally getting his body back into balance of
        sleeping during day and awake at night.  

       During the first day average temperatures reach 77 which is
       good but it does rain around 8am for a short while which wets
       everyone on deck for a good 10 minutes or so.  

        Night 20 - Around 2:07am

          [The ship is anchored by a tall cliff and the only lights
           around for miles is the ship's lanterns.  On deck this
           hour a crewman, Trembyl and Xian stand sentry.  Everywhere
           else is asleep.  Thig is also awake and flying around
           scouting and exploring the area.  He notices movement on
           the rock cliff that goes about 700 feet high about a mile
           to the North West of the ship.  He flies toward it to
           inspect it and notices a single large animal.  On closer
           inspection he finds its a horse.  He lands and approaches
           it and finds its not a normal horse but a sleek male Fay
           horse.  Both creatures eye each other in the inky blackness
           of night.  While Thig has seen fay Horses before he is surprised
           to see one in this area and this far east of their nromal
           stomping grounds.  While its not rare its a honor to spot one.
           The horse seems unafraid of Thig and continues to graze before
           Thig lifts off and returns to the ship.  He doesn't report
           what he saw that night however.]

     Sepes 21, in the 163rd Year [TH]
       Location: Sea of Cholchara, Marentia

       [Ship continues sailing.  This day turns out on average cooler
        around 65 as a mountain breeze hits the ship.  In the distance
        the party can see a minor sleet storm near some hills but it
        never hits the party.]

     Sepes 22, in the 163rd Year [TH]
       Location: Sea of Cholchara, Marentia

       [Most of the day its cloudy as the ship continues.  The top
        temperature for the day is 77.  But its rather cold in the
        morning.  In fact around 9am a sleet storm hits the ship.
        It is a mix of snow and small hail stones.  It batters the
        ship but most are protected under make shift tarps or below
        decks.  Only 2 or 3 crew actually remain on deck and have
        to battle the storm.  The storm lasts for about 20 minutes
        and the snow covers the ship but is a very thin layer only.
        Its obvious this means fall is here and winter storms may
        be growing in strength.]

     Sepes 23, in the 163rd Year [TH]
       Location: Sea of Cholchara, Marentia

       [The weather is better today with only morning heavy fog which
        burns off quickly.  For the most part the day is sunny and
        clear with highs in the 70s.]

        [Around 6:08pm that night the ship spots 3 fast moving merchant
         ships, of Marentia it seems, in a small voncoy.  They are
         heading south likely toward Cholchara city or further south.
         The ships are moving a bit faster since they are being rowed.
         They are not flying any danger flags so the captain ignores
         them and lets them pass without any interference.]

     Sepes 24, in the 163rd Year [TH]
       Location: Sea of Cholchara, Marentia

       [Clouds move in to make it mostly partly cloudy with highs in
        the mid 70s.  Around 7:16 a quick 1 minute rain storm occurs
        which is so fast by the time the players take cover its over.]

     Sepes 25, in the 163rd Year [TH]
       Location: Sea of Cholchara, Marentia

       [The day stays sunny and clear but cooler with high around 68.
        The captain underestimated travel time due to the spells Jordi
        casts and finds his ship arrives in Asichi port early around
        8am.  The city is bustling with activity on the docks where
        about 40 odd craft are berthed of various sizes, shapes and
        purposes.  All of the city but Farseeker has never been here
        so its a new place.  But theres not much time to explore the
        new city.  Caladan sets out immediately to find a river barge
        as the day is still early.  Theres no need to stay when the
        day is so young....]


     GM: Sailing report for your information only.  Jordi helps cast
       spells to make the ship faster during all water travel.

        This is a distance of 120 miles from Cholchara to Asichi city.

       [Four hours later Caladan finds a single river barge.  The
        captain is found in a tavern slightly drunk.  But after he
        sees coins he stirs up and gets his crew ready.]

       GM: Party is now in Asichi.  The last civilized place the
         party may see for a month or more.  The party will have
         4 hours for any last minute things.  Gear is alreayd planned
         for so nothing to buy at this point unless you need to.
         For friday's update we'll move on and up through the Zen'da
         river on the barge.  

                        ------------------------

       [During the trip Jordi spends time with Farseeker and Kasha
        alot talking about the military including topics on formations,
        strategy, tactics, small unit procedures and history.  This
        peeks the interest of the party who is curious as to why all
        the questions.]

     Next update Friday...

     Six days pass for the update.  We'll likely do 4 more before
     the end of friday's update is over.

     Website may be back up.  As I type this its being rebuilt on
     the servers down south.  The main server died.  ISP is moving
     files from one server to another.  So as of this update the
     website itself may not be 100% complete.  I'll work on it in
     the next couple days and should give you more ino for next
     update.
