Bit more research.  

Last we emailed each other was 5/3.  He told me about his serious issues he thought with medicine stuff messing things up side effects.  I won't go into detials on thsoe issues but sounded serious.  He was going to get new drugs he hoped.  

That was last I heard from him.  Then 8/11 I emailed him again but no reply.  

David found a Obit for him but nto sure if its him or not.  I seem to vaguely recall him being an electrical eng. guy but I cna't confirm it. i checked my old emails going back to 7 '08 about 224 emails.  I did keyword scans but no such info on family members or HS or school or job.  So not sure if its him.  I'm tempted to call his sis if its her in town here to see but I'd likely just scare her off.

John McDaniel Hooten, 52, of Lincoln, died unexpectedly Friday, June 24, 2011. Born in Birmingham, Ala. on October 16, 1958. John attended Herscher High School and then graduated from Norfolk High School in the top 10 in the class of 1976. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at U.N.L. in 1981. John helped in raising Zacharia, Joshua and Jeremiah Gillander.

Survived by his parents, Jerry and Joan Hooten of Welaka, Fla.; loving partner, Rhonda Gillander of Lincoln; brother, Scott Hooten of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Cher Selvey of Jacksonville, Fla.; many nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Wadlow Rozanek Funeral Home, 5200 'R' Street, Lincoln with Rev. Wayne Alloway officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to John's favorite place: Henry Doorly Zoo, Cats Complex, 3701 S 10th Street, Omaha, NE 68107. Share condolences at www.wadlowrozanek.com. I see only 1 John Hooten on Yahoo people for he city I'm giong on John's pnp app which said his city.  As of 8/08 so 3 years.  So unless he oved away I sadly think it must be him.  

Sigh...

He was a good guy and good player.

Should I try to get his sis on the phone and freak her out ?  If I can confirm the email addrss  we'd know for sure.
