[Location: Middle Katai Plains]
[ Mountains west of Pamau]
[Time: 1:25:06 pm - Turn 1: Phase 2]
Fremea turns in the air to aim at the Shaper but finds Raban
should be able to deal with her. It is too risky to fire on
him so she shifts to another Vong Warrior nearby. She aims and
fires on Warrior #11 but fails to get close to the warrior.
Strie'bog turns to the Shaper #2 in the south and fires his
longbow. The arrow flies true and swift hitting her in the
middle left ribs but does only a minor wound of 5 points.
Raban notices Shaper #1's Orb is starting to form some shape
and reaches with his right hand to grip the mushroom soft
tissue. He yanks as hard as he can and rips the orb from her
shoulder. The Shaper gives a slight yelp but seems to take
the pain. Raban throws the Orb behind him and stomps on it
with his large booted right foot.
Unali slashes forward both her daggers at Vong #1. The magical
dagger stabs him in the left shoulder doing 9 points while the
normal dagger impales him deep in his crab armor in his center
chest but the armor is thick so takes only 6 more points of damage
to the deep thrusts.
Farseeker turns to see Unali and Ben'dar fighting one. There is
another Vong approaching but finds the Shaper #2 that Strie'bog
just fired on is a good target. He charges toward the Shaper
and swings his great sword. The thick blade slices across her
upper chest doing 12 points of damage.
Chion thrusts his sai toward Vong Warrior #3 but fails to strike
the agile warrior.
Ben'dar turns away from helping Unali and charges Vong #16
coming from the west. He raises and thrusts his spear but
fails to make contact with the warrior.
Arawn tries to flank Vong #3's left side and does it halfway.
Arawn tries to swing his magical sword fast toward the side of
the Vong but he pulls high and his amphistaff blocks the blow.
Arawn can tell his friends are there but doesn't see that Lin
and Caladan are leaving his area.
Kell sees Arawn trying to flank to Vong #3's right side. Since
Chion is facing him head home, Kell tries to flank him on
the left side. Kell ducks slightly and thrusts his magical spear
at the Warrior. He impales the gray headed creature in the left
mid section doing 17 points of damage. Kell grins at the revenge
for his arm though this one isn't the one who hurt him. It is
good to give payback. Course he knows for most normal beings
this type of blow would've killed them, at least punctured
a lung. But that blasted Crab armor seems to be helping in
that regard.
Captain Lin rushes toward the two outcasts and the shaper.
He notices one outcast block his way to the Shaper. This
forms him to get dangerously close to the edge of pit. Lin's
sword thrusts high and to the left stabbing the Outcast #3
in the left upper chest but not near his heart if there is
a heart there. Lin notices the fool has no weapons or armor.
This is when all the Vong Warriors react at the same time.
Vong #1 thrusts at Unali and fails to hit her.
Vong #16 swings at Ben'dar but also fails to hit the barbarian.
Vong #4 charges toward Farseeker attacking the nearby Shaper.
The warrior stabs Farseeker in the left mid-chest doing a minor
3 point wound past his heavy chainmail.
Vong #5 charges to help Vong #4 and swings at Farseeker behind
him doing nothing past his tough chainmail on impact.
Vong #6 and 7 hear the nearby Shaper's orders and runs westward.
They don't realize the door is also under threat but figures to
head on the west side of the cave.
Vong #8, 9 and 10 rush northward toward the mysterious mist
and the giant attacking the Shaper.
Vong #11 sees Raban attacking his Shaper mistress. In a feat
of anger he flanks one of the humans and beams him in the elbow
with a spiked leather elbow ring. This causes the human to
yelp in pain. The warrior stabs at Raban but Raban's tough
armor the amphistaff fails to penetrate to the giant.
Vong #12 thrusts at Kiet who has backed away but due to the
humans crowded around Kiet can't back too far away. The
amphistsaff slashes at Kiet but no impact is done.
Vong #13 decides to release his Voxyen at the new threat and
drops the leather leash and issues attack orders.
Vong #4 turns toward Kell and stabs at the merchant but fails
to make his quick move.
Vong #14 finally sees a threat and moves from the wall. He
comes to guard the Shaper against Lin. The warrior thrusts
his amphistaff at Captain Lin but fails to make impact.
Vong #15 also sees the sudden threat finally moves toward
Ben'dar. The warrior thrusts his amphistaff and fails to
make impact on the warrior.
Z'leyra moves deeper into the smaller inner cave inside the
pit cave. With sword in hand she notices it branches left and
a bit further north. She notices there are humans either sitting,
standing or laying down. Some seem dazed or confused. She
quickly checks the nearby walls for Vong traps.
Caladan sees Captain Lin under attack by a warrior and an outcast.
He also notices the Shaper in that area is rather calm. He peers
clsoer and notices she is holding some small instrument. He isn't
sure what it is. Then the hair on his neck raises slightly as if
in danger sense. He looks behind him and the nearest Vong is
being attacked by Arawn and Kell. Further back a Voxyen beast
has been set loose but its looking toward the Mist around Fremea.
Caladan looks to the right toward the pit and then notices a
flash of movement. His eyes aren't as good as others but the
forms are something he saw earlier in the perch cave. It seems
those flying creatures are moving wildly about. Not only that
there seems to be a few heading his way.
Kiet in the middle of the fight finds himself trapped by
one nearby warrior, the shaper under attack by Raban and another
warrior who just hit the human. He decides that the Vong don't
care about the prisoners. He directs with his arms and hands
to the humans to back away from the battle as best they can.
Will with Tulwar in hand and dagger in other hand to parry any
possible blows turns to the Warrior nearby. He thrusts with
his tulwar The tulwar hits Warrior #12 in the left shoulder doing
5 points past his tough armor.
Shaper #2 sees Farseeker being attacked by two of her warriors.
She feels more confident and pulls out her coufee. She swipes
the bone dagger toward Farseeker's back but fails to hit the agile
warrior as he ducks one warrior.
Shaper #3 moves toward the west alongside the two warriors she
just ordered to move fast.
Shaper #1 lost her coufee when Raban grasps her neck and
ripped the Orb from her. She is weak from damage and isn't
trained to fight. But she knows this is her last chance. She
desperately tries to slash her clawed hand against Raban's face.
But in her weakened state she fails to land the slash.
Shaper #4 having summoned the R'ythan beasts to this area
with her bone whistle pockets it back it back into her gown.
She then pulls out a hand held device of some sort.
The last Voxyen beast charges toward Raban to help the Shaper
under attack. The 8 legs run as fast as a beast of its odd shape
can. As it moves it howls and bays at the strange mist, toward
Fremea. It knows something is there but can't get there. Instead
the beast tries to bite the giant but in the quick attack fails
to make contact with his leg.
Outcast #1 notices the Shaper and two warriors charge past
him. He finds this interesting that he isn't ordered as some
body shield or suicide victim. He remains still as he considers
his next action.
Outcast #2 and #3 near Lin realize the warrior nearby could
strike them for their cowardice. They decide to prove their
value to the Overlord. As if in one mind the two outcasts push
forward. One pushing Lin back and one to the right in an attempt
to knock him off the pit ledge. The first gets Lin off guard and
does push him backward. The second one fails to get enough force
to affect Lin. But it only takes one of them to knock L:in back
and stumble over the edge. If both had been strong enough Lin
would've surely been tossed further out. But in this case Lin
tries to slide into the fall and grabs desperately for stone,
water or sand. His sword falls to the ground as he instinctively
claws the ground. Below him Lin notices the pit bottom is some
30 or so feet away. Falling there might not kill him but the
problem of getting back up is a factor. Lin realizes his mistake
in his haste to kill the Shaper. He grunts as he tries to pull
as hard to a stone that is lodged into the edge. But it will
only take one of the three Vong to dislodge him.
Human #1 finds Farseeker the strange bulky man fighting the
Shaper. He panics and backs away about 15 feet southward. His
survival instinct cuts in more than fear for death at the Vong.
Human #2 decides to stick near Kiet maybe he'll draw the Vong
rather than him. But Human #3 and #4 move away from the battle
and toward the edge of the pit south of the others.
Zhou decides to help the humans back. But as he does he notices
three more Vong are heading this way. He draws up his sword ready
to help defend the humans if needed.
Suddenly Kell's demonic pet comes out of some hidden area and
charges the Vong that Kell is fighting. The small ferret begins
to bite the Vong on the leg. But his thick leg leather is too
much for the small pet.

[Time: 1:25:09 pm - Turn 1: Phase 3]
Caladan in a quick thought could fire his Composite Bow at
the flying creatures. He might get one or two. But then he
notices Lin fall and yelp in surprise. He quickly allocates
mana for a spell.
Strie'bog aims and with good angle decides to fire on the
Shaper attacking Farseeker. The arrow flies but goes behind
the female Vong into the pit.
Fremea hovers in the air above her mist. She turns to the
shaper but could hit Raban. The beast attacking Raban could
risk hitting him. She aims at the warrior below but could
hit Will. She raises a bit and aims at the Vong that once
held the Voxyen beast a bit to the north. Firing the bow
the arrow impacts onto the ground a few feet from the Warrior.
Caladan toward the direction of the Outcasts and shaper. He
raises his right hand palm out and speaks a few quick words. Then
almost instantly a large fireball shoots out from his hand and
moves toward the group of Vong. The fireball overtakes the
Vong position. Caladan knows their resistance is high. But
if he distract them to give Lin time it will help. He also
knows the fireball height is well above Lin's position below
the edge. Suddenly the two Outcasts burst into flame and incinerate
instantly falling to the ground in a smoking heap. The warrior
though has higher resistance and the magic doesn't affect him though
his clothing is starting to smolder and catch on fire in some places.
The shaper's gown bursts into instant flames and she becomes nude
as the fireball doesn't affect her actual body. A smoking pile
of ash floats up from where her clothing was. Her high resistance
prevents the magical fire to do damage. The fireball continues
past them for another 30 or so feet.
Raban grips the neck of Shaper #1 and twists pushing forward
and to the left. The neck breaks and the Shaper slumps to the
ground dead.
Unali swings both daggers at Vong #1. While both make their
targets on the creature they do not penetrate his tough armor.
Farseeker tired of the fun thrusts his great sword at Shaper
#2 and impales her in the middle chest. As he does he places
a leg forward and pushes the shaper forward over the side of
the pit. As she falls she slips off the bloody dagger and falls
down the steep slope of the pit to her death.
Chion slices his sai at Vong #3 now under the attack from that
creepy beast Kell likes. The sai slides just past the warrior's
left cheek but fails to hit.
Ben'dar stabs his magical spear at Vong #16 but fails to make
a full blow on the creature.
Arawn tries to slip behind Vong #3 again but the warrior is
using the wall to full use. But Arawn goes slip to the back
somewhat and thrusts his sword doing a minor 3 point wound to
his lower right back.
With the ferret helping to distract the Warrior, Kell stabs
forward with his magical spear. It impales deep on the lower
right chest just above his waist doing massive damage (3x what
is needed) killing the warrior instantly.
Captain Lin struggles to hold onto the slippery boulder about
the size of his head. He tries to grip the pit edge with his
free hand but dirt falls down onto him. As Lin looks up he sees
the fading fireball move past. He could feel the heat above
his head and is not sure what just happened. But now suddenly
the two Outcasts have moved away or he can't see them. In
his brief glimpse he can see the warrior's leathers smoldering.
In fact as he looks the vest falls from his chest and the crab
armor shows in plain view twitching. To the right, Lin can
see a now naked Vong female a bit dazed from the look of it.
he is disgusted at the look as the right breast has been removed
and replaced with coral implants in some cruel joke for body
image or their farce of divine worship. All over her body are
large patterns of tattoos. Lin can finally tell the Vong aren't
so much different than humans. Lin continues to struggle to get
over the rim of the pit but his footing keeps slipping.
The Vong all react to the threats around them.
Vong #1 thrusts at Unali and the spear snake head stabs slightly
into her left arm doing 3 points of damage.
Vong #15 slices at Ben'dar but the amphistaff goes wild and
forces the warrior to almost fumble forward.
Vong #16 makes quick contact on Ben'dar's right armor but his
dragon armor protects him.
Vong #4 and #5 both see Farseeker kill the shaper. They use
change to strike at his back. Both amphistaves hit the large
military man in the left and right center back. But his chainmail
protects most of it giving him only a 1 and 2 point wounds.
Vong #6 and #7 move westward on the southern edge of the pit.
Vong #8 rushes north and charges Raban which just killed the
Shaper. The warrior thrusts his amphistaff but fails to hit.
Vong #9 and #10 charge after #8 and gets to the group of
Raban and Will. The nearby humans are grateful they are not
victims.
While the 3 warriors approach from the south, Warrior #11
thrusts at Raban but fails to hit the large man.
Vong #13 thrusts his amphistaff at Will but the Vong snake-staff
is deflected by Will's dagger away from his body.
Vong #13 which released the Voxyen beast charges toward the
new group to his south. He enters the fray and thrusts at Raban.
But the Vong weapon fails to make contact.
Z'leyra steps a few feet further into the alcove. She takes
quick glance on the humans gathered around to see if there are
critical issues. But for now she doesn't act in case there are
hidden Vong or traps.
Caladan is happy with his fireball results. Though if they
were all humans the other two would've been dead. He glances
at Lin and finds him stable but needs to get to him fast. He
glances up to the swooping flying beasts. He frowns when he
notices them moving his way and realized he saved Lin but may
have been set a target by that Shaper in some fashion.
Kiet decides this place is not the best to be in such tight
corners. With back to the pit and now 4-5 other Vong around
him and some more coming its not beneficial to be around.
Will slices his Tulwar against Vong #12 who just attacked him
moments ago. The blade doesn't penetrate much beyond his thick
armor but does a few points of damage.
Now the remaining Shapers all act.
Shaper #4 is a bit shocked by the sudden damp nature to her
skin as she stands naked with not a shred of cloth to her now
due to the fireball. Her head is lacking of hair so there was
nothing to burn. But in other strategic places the hair there
is now a twist of vapor. She looks down to her hand to the
hand held weapon and finds it a bit warped from the heat. She
shrugs and finds it useless. Upset she orders the Vong warrior
to pickup the one over the edge. She ignores the warrior's
need to put out the flame on his own clothing.
Shaper #3 glances to see the fireball. She realizes she has
underestimated the threat. If only she could warn the others to
get reinforcements. She hurries westward.
The last Voxyen bites forward and clamps down on Raban's left
leg doing only 1 point of damage but does draw some blood.
The last Outcast notices that the Shaper isn't directing him.
He decides to run up the slope to the darkned area the
party teleported from. But just as he climbed the slope the
right hand perch guard fires a slew of razor bugs toward him
and they fly fast. Piercing through his back the bugs bore
deep inside his skin and then explode. The outcast stumbles
and falls off the slope dead.
Human #1 continues to run southward away from Farseeker's battle.
Humans #2, 3 and #4 decide the new Vong are too much. They
shove Kiet aside, almost shoving him over the edge. Passing
alongside the acrobat they move north to where there is no Vong.
Z'leyra determines the prisoner area seems secure and clear. She
finds two sections. One jutting west and one north. The one
north seems to be a holding area with no doors or thing to
block. Inside the cramped, smelly and dark area are 12 assorted
humans. They seem to be alive but in poor health or hungry.
Z'leyra checks the left side briefly and finds there are some
artificial stone cells that seem to hold about 5 humans. in
the center of that area are 3 Embrace of Pains. Each torture
device holds adult humans of around 20s male, 30s female and upper
teen male. Those in the torture device are all bound by the
devious devices and devoid of clothing. The Healer figures it
could take time to see who is in need of help.

GM: Did 2 phases this time. Would've been out last night but
storm prevented work while computer was off. Now I'm
off Friday so Thursday will be a late night. Means good
chance of a update Thursday night. I still need to update
the Experience chart with what has gone on so far. Will
do that likely wednesday. If time will do some of the
next phase or two then and rest Thursday.
GM: If you've not outlined actions it will be either random or
undefined. Like Kiet its hard to do such without specific
spells casts or not wanting to actually fight. So unless
stated there isn't much to do for some characters.
GM: Basically there are 6 Vong warriors + Voxyen vs Raban, Will,
Fremea, Kiet and Zhou. There are 3 attacking Unali and
Ben'dar. two attacking Farseeker.
GM: Rough sketch of prisoner area B where Z'leyra is below.
Did a rough description (above) and map (below). Can
go into further details as needed and as folks explore
closer. This is just a quick glance only.

Details:
Pit: 50-60 feet deep in most places. Minor lichen allows some light
from below. There are maybe 100-150 bodies. There are three
times that in estimated body parts.

Ceiling = 60-80 feet above pit top.
