>         [Time:
>1:23 pm – South-East of Ma'Dor]
>   The creature turns to Pyan and blinks it does this a few
>times as if focusing on the hunter or using some other form of vision
>spectrum or sense.  It lumbers toward Pyan and ends up 2 feet
>away.  It could bite his head off but instead sniffs the hunter.

Pyan has time to doubt the wisdom of his actions as the creature approaches him, but being from one of the so called savage civilizations he us is use to negotiating where you don't know is the other party is going to attack you, you just don't show that your weak enough that their attack would be a concern. Pyan maintains his composer thou his skin becomes goose flesh.

>   The creature turns to Dorhak and stares and sniffs.  It
>raises his head and roars and charges.  Dorhak draws his shield and
>braces.

Pyan ignores the other happening in the chamber not even turning a eye, just waiting for a reply to his pleas for help until the creaute charges off.  Pyan doesn't look to where the creatures is chargeing, it will sort it self out soon enoughm ensteads his looks around the chamber and evaluates the situation.

>   Then suddenly the suits above all in unison jump off their
>ledge and land on the ground with a loud clank of bone and metal.
>All the size of dwarfs with pole arms or maces and shields.  Those
>who see them notice glint of bone between joins in the armor that show
>they are either dead, skeletons or magical creations.

Pyan thinks that they where smart enough to know that Dorhak passed the tests and recognize him as the new guardian, though would they recognize a bunch of non-dwarfs as his friends? Pyan prepares to do battle with the armored figures

>         GM: A fun
>spot to end? :) Exit blocked by tons of rock.  Magic to enter the
>cave is still probably up and so magic to leave is probably useless –
>Arawn guesses.

We have two expert(maybe not experts by dwarven standards but by any other mortal race's)  dwarfs with us to help clear the exist and there is that stone to water spell that Arawn is always going one about how it's going to ruin the landscape.

>    From Pyan: [Re: Actions]                    Pyan really wishes he still had the language necklace on him that time the old man talked and
> everyone seemed to understand him as if he was speaking their language. (I really wanted to try it but figure He would have
> returned the necklace by then)
>
> GM: Ack. You mean Velf talking? Raddok translated for all to understand. As to necklace I
>think the slots time were all up.  :<  The voice I found now.  Basically the voice was speaking in every native tongue so each >understood personally.  So Kiet-Lemasan, Unali-Katai, etc.

No not Velf. I was refers back to

Game Update #27 - The Old Man of Winter.....
[Northern Thaliba - Forest]
[Decalis 3rd, 1634TH]
[Time: 3:27 pm]

Party has passed many folks for the last 5 or so hours.
But up the road a single man is walking toward them.  As
he gets closer it looks like a man in his 60s with gray
beard  He is wearing a dark black coat and brown tunic
and warm pants.  He is wearing a small floppy hat that
          farmers tend to wear.

Kell reminds the group is time again to dismount and
let the horses rest 10 minutes.

At about 50 feet away the party notices he is walking
with a wooden walking stick.  He has a small backpack
on his back.  It seems the old man is humming a song of
          some sort.

At 10 feet he nods and waves.  "A good day to travel!"
The man has a bit of a back slump as if bad back and a
ligth limp on his left leg.  His green eyes shine brightly
as he approaches.  "I head this way to Malnon every
5 years.  Got family there.  It isn't usually this
cold but I started out later this year due to..."

Kell rushes over after giving his horse rope to Kiet.
          "You okay old timer?"

The man bats at Kell's hands.  "I'm fine...Keep looking
          into that material."

Arawn and Fremea notices his aura change.  To Arawn he
sees it more defined.  It was a golden blue tan aura showing
a bit of age and excitement.  But now it seems to show
orange and brown.  Concerned Arawn reaches for his sword
by instinct but remains in place.

Kell looks confused by the comment and backs away.

The old man looks down at Fremea, "Some are not happy by
the relic being around.  Some are watching you with your
kids and believe you are on the good path."

The old man moves toward Unali and whispers in her ears.
Unali looks a bit surprised and nods.

Confused the party begins to fan out not knowing who
          or what this man is.

The old man looks at the dancer Zabyra.  "Short term
goals are fulfilling but the road twists and turns.
One must set the path to the destination.  It is the
journey not the destination that matters."

Z'leyra blinks as she just heard Rogizini but the others
seem to hear the words in Marentian?  Zabyra is also
happy to hear her native tongue.

The old man walks to Pyan and stares at him for a few
seconds.  "Hunters need to be quiet but a man in the
woods needs to make noises to scare bears."

Pyan looks to Kiet and is confused.  Why his this man
          using his native tongue?

The old man turns and faces Arawn, "Destiny is the river
that flows.  But rivers can be distorted by the movement
of the earth.   Going upstream can be risky but in the end
the end is always near.  The White Dove is alert but the
          Raven is watching."

Before the Alfar can speak the old man turns to Kiet.
He smiles, "The Air is always around you but watch your
          feet for snakes abound."

The old man turns to Corona who is sitting on one of the
grain bags being carried by the taken bandit horses.  "That
one does not belong here."  He scowls and then turns away.

The man turns to Red Shirt, "is stealing from a merchant
worth feeding the poor?  When the merchant has the power
to feed the entire poor family?"

Then the old man turns to Z'leyra and lifts his stick
as if to berate.  "You must choose.  Lack of Faith in no
service is just as bad as no faith.  An octopus can handle
many things by his arms.  But if he depends on his sight
and not his mental ability then he will die quickly.  Which
court of gods do you serve as primary?"

Why would this man be asking her alignment to the gods?

The old man stands and stares waiting for his answer.  "Well
          I don't have all night."
        From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Just out of curiosity, was Kiet hearing the old man speak in
Lemasan the whole time, or just his part about the snakes, or
          none of it?
GM: Ack.  No.  The old man was oddly speaking in a supernaturla
tongue that sounded native to each person at the same time.
The main native language that is.

> To which I belatedly replied: > Pyan looks to Kiet and is confused.  Why his this man using his native tongue? It takes a moment since he is use to everyone talking Omavor, but Pyan is even more confused when he realized that the other seem to understand him. "Is he using magic to communicate?" Pyan doesn't say out loud but his thoughts instantly turn to the necklace which was explained to him as giving the user the ability to communicate in the way that people are trying to use on you. 'If only I hadn't returned it...'

--- It is with books as with the fire in our hearths; we go to a neighbor to get the embers and light it when we return home, pass it on to others, and it belongs to everyone.

Now a small army of automatons are itching for
battle.  Will try update Monday since I work next Friday it will
have to be Monday or delayed by days.  Map is below since its near
1am I will generate what weapons the sits are holding later.  The
suits are chain or plate which is rare for dwarfs.  For light in the
cave the torches are above the suits on wall at same spots about 15 feet
up.  They light up about 15 feet in diameter.  If questions let
me know.  Had to handle a few emails for this update so I'll handle
when I can.
