       [Recap]

         From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra lies on the deck staring up at the sky. After ....
         GM: Ack.

         From Arawn: [Re; Actions]
Sorry for the delays in posting everyone. I had sent battle
choices to Scott a while back (before the fight actually
started) and didn't have a chance to sit down long enough to
adjust them for the previous update or to reply to anyone.
Would have loved to translocate Arawn to the prow and have
Repel Evil hopefuly send the giant fleeing (but nice save
everyone - just got to see to Z'leyra now). But up for 48
hours, work and then two birthdays since the last update -
and now finally getting a chance to rest like a normal person.
Anyways now to adjust to the situation at hand.?
           ---
Unali: Nice idea on flight and such. Send me a direct email
right away next time and I'll be happy to work something out.
And maybe we can come up with strategies over the next
couple of weeks for you to close the gap in similar future
           situations.?

Z'leyra: Communicating with Scott on best option to heal you
as I'm not sure how close to death vs unconsciousness Z'leyra's
at and want to minimize risking your death by making the
mistake of delaying a phase or 2 for healing to kick in
(Healing Mist heals each Turn, not Phase, so checking on this
for you along with other options)
--
Once I'm done communicating with Scott I'll have a proper
          post for Arawn:)
GM: Ack. No problem. Since I figured you'd be at the same spot
for 4 phases (under magic rules of casting/movement)) I
did what I had to do with the info I got. :) It worked out
though. If the SG got repelled likley would've submerged
and simply sunk ship and left to come back for snacks.
Now a EVIL gm would not have given any hints and le
you risk the death. Based on initial plan it would've
killed her for good. So being evil at times is not
             so good for players. :)

         From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
At least Z'leyra tried to gasp out 'ouch' but she was ...
         GM: Ack.

         From Raddok: [Re: Actions]
           Serious questions:
Raddok, standing over Z'eyra to protect her with his shield,
can see the chest wound & a hole there & knows it's potentially
           fatal. What

is not stated so far is how large the hole is.
He has a leather helmet which, upside down, can block a larger,
hallow hole, & a mace that, doubtfully, can block up a smaller
hole, if it's weight doesn't cause more damage, or his bare
hands (taking off his armor would take too much time). [OOC:
            personally,

I believe he would use his own hands, maybe fisted, to try
to block off the hole, until something better offers.] He knows
the chest hole has to be closed, but has nothing else
available. His healing kit is I n the locker with his padded
armor (& he wishes he was wearing it - that may or may not
help block a wound like this.) So he has options nearby, but
now has only his hands, which may or may not help.

OOC: Can I/we get more specifics? (Sorry, I'm a retired nurse,
            so the questions pop up)
GM: Ack. Very good question/comments. There was 2 situations as GM
I had to consider. Z's health, party's health and ship's
health is one. Now by then Giant was still alive. What
if he just reached over to grab Z for his net? No chance
to help her she'd be dead now too long for help to come
to her. So by blocking her you distracted the option of
that and reduced such a chance. You'd have to be taken
first or as well. So you protected her life doing so.
Sure a blow by his trident would've done little on the
shield. But it would've helped as distraction. The second
issue is the hole as you say. Sure he classic hand on wound
and yell 'medic' in movies. Might've worked. If you had
some training. That's hollywood. While in most cases it
might've given time. But in this case there was no time before
death. I as GM know exactly how much time. But what if
you had done MORE damge? Death would've been faster before
Arawn could help? So while I understand the urge to help
it might've been worse. The only true healers left are Fremea
and Arawn though both are limited on humans. So by doing
the blocking you did far better than helping But in the s
spea if you want to help I CAN do that. Keep in mind burning back
on a giant to help Z would've been a big bullseyes without
a mace to block. :) Good post though.

         From Arawn: [Re: Actions[]
Kneeling beside Z'leyra Arawn was careful not to adjust...

"I need a medic. Apply pressure here...," he directed...

OOC: If anyone has the Healer (Human) skill and wants to assist
that would be great as it'll work alongside magical healing.
Otherwise he can verbally direct them using his own Healer
skill. Arawn will simultaneously be casting Healing Hand at
max EL on Z'leyra. Would do both but Arawn's is worried this
might take too long as Z's running on very limited time.?
" she stabilizes then he'll check on Finn. If she still
seems unstablehe'll risk a Healing Mist at max EL while
tending to her with Healer skill (and asking someone to grab a
           healer's kit).
         GM: Ack.

       -------------------------------------------------------------
       [New Stuff]

           [Apris 10th, 1636TH]
           [Time: 2:26 pm]

Z'leyra lies on the deck staring up at the sky. After a
few moments she gathers enough strength to gasp "...ouch....".
She awaits the green mist that she expects to soon enfold
           her.

That is she hopes she speaks or was it a dream?

Kneeling beside Z'leyra Arawn was careful not to adjust his
position overly much. The seal created by the mystical
field surrounding him pressing down on the puncture seemed to
help but would only afford her a few more seconds of life. She
seemed precariously close to death's door and despite his
medical training his lack of both tools and knowledge of human
anatomy meant that magic was liklly her best option. Healing
mists, regeneration and like would take too long leaving him
with a quicker if less thorough magic. He just hoped it would
           be enough.

Sensing Raddok and other others clustered around the
shamaness the alfar called out while preparing his wand.?

"I need a medic. Apply pressure here...," he directed as he
invoked a prayer of healing, dismissing the shield at just the
           right moment.?

Z'leyra's eye flicker for a half second or two as
she sees Arawn kneel over him. Why is his hair sticking
out like that. He just looks plain silly that way! Then
again her own body seems to tingle for some reason.

At least Z'leyra tried to gasp out 'ouch' but she was too
weak and fading fast. She tries to use sign language to say,
"Block hole in chest" but fades out into unconsciousness
           before completing the signs.

Raddok drops his shield on the deck and rushes to a locker
            to grab his healing kit.

Mournath hears Arawn ask for help and drops his bow
and kneels next to Arawn t help hold the pressure. He
has no medical training as well But he also had no
            training in taking out giants.

Arawn notices Z'leyra fall into unconsciousness and
feels her pulse all but fade away.

Nearby Barbosa rappels down the rope to grab Finn
who is also knocked out. Fremea and Unali help place
Finn around his neck as the large dwarf tries to climb
using his sheer strength. Fremea also helps to hover and
go upwards to hold Finn in place.

Zepp, Dorhak, Kiet and others help haul the rope up as well
to help the dwarf get higher. Barbosa grunts as the waves
splash against the ship wetting him. Dwarfs do not like
           water much.

As Barbosa climbs Unali releases the rope but places
it around her was it. She can climb up later. She
glances at the sinking giant and the large bubbles
that pop up. A large pool of blood oozes up making
the area a nice place for sharks soon.

Raddok opens the locker and grabs his kit. Then
rushes back to the others working on the probable dead
           Z'leyra.

As Arawn calls for a medic at the same time he reaches
over to the hole in Z'leyra's chest and casts a spell
while speaking to others. Gray magical energy shoots form
his right hand into the chest hole and heals 8 points of
           damage.

Z'leyra checks the wound and it is now smaller then a pinky
fingernail size. It healed much but it seems that Z'leyra
may be stable for a few seconds. Arawn doesn't know humans
all that well but figures 6-9 seconds before she crashes
           again.

Raddok kneels and opens the kit. Arawn rummages inside for
the knife and gauze. He ensures the wound is not cluttered with
bits of trident metal and plugs up the hole. Heknows the
Healing Hand will prevent infections for the next 2 days
if this fails so cleaning the wound is not super critical at
           this point.

Nearby Finn is hauled onto the deck by Kiet and
Dorhak. Zepp then helps Barbosa to the deck as well.

Barbosa turns around at the water and pales as much
as a dwarf can. "Wait..did I do that?" As he realizes
what he just did just jumping over the side of the
ship to save a human he barely knows. His knees seem
to buckle as he realizes this and leans against a railing
           post.

Arawn shoos the others away as he prepares for the
next spell. While the Mist spells would do nothing
to the others if it backfires it could harm them.

Arawn speaks to the others as he tends the wound
to move away and then casts the Healing Mist spell.

Z'leyra flutters her eyes open enough to see green
snow falling around her and then buzz as it hits the
energy shield around Arawn. That's funny looking.
But why is it snowing this late in the year? Then her
           eyes close once again.

Soon Arawn realizes that the mist is working but also being
countered by some internal bleeding. Or maybe its the actual
wound itself. Just as the mist seems to heal the bleeding
seems to counter and that healing away. Frustrated Arawn
begins to pray and chant. He knows Z'leyra has her own luck
ring on and decides he needs help as well. Arawn estimated she
had 50/50 chance of death. But can he risk yet another
super Healing hand to help her? Surely there is still a
50/50 chance. But he finally decides that it is almost
mandatory as to counter out the internal bleeding. He
casts another healing Hand and this time concentrates t
           to the inside the body.

This time the hand heals 12 points of damage and closes
up the wound in her chest. But he knows there is still
internal tissue damage. Probably 40% damaged so far at
this point. But maybe as high as 60^. Human bodies are
           so weird to the Alfar.

By now Unali has climbed onto the deck.

Those around Finn find the man has s2walloeed water
and Fremea helps. But Zeepp has seen this before and
punches Finn's chest once. Then twice. Soon Finn
coughs up water and gasps for air.

Arawn glances over his shoulder to see Finn doing good.
Then realizes Z'leyra's pulse is getting stronger. Finally
the mist is dong its thing. Normally Arawn figures the Mist
would take at most 3 minutes. But in this case it takes
5 full minutes as it was being countered by the bleeding until
           Arawn fixed that.

Z'leyra finally wakes up after her head gets a whiff of
Raddok's socks near her head. She sniffs the air and
then looks around the green snow is gone. So is the
hair sanding on his head. Then wonders why cart or
carts of many ran over her.

Dorhak stands over Z'leyra with hands on hips and
growls. He mutters something about this is no time to
be slacking there are duties to be done! Repear of
the wood railing and such. Dorhak doesn't like two
of the crew resting this time of day!

           Actions? Comments?

           Next Update...Friday/Saturday...

GM: Z'leyra lives for now. Finn is only bruised by Zepp's
hits but will be fine. The night is coming and I'm
almost out of time. So will end update here. I wanted
to do a bit more but will try Monday afternoon. Experience
                and character sheets are updated.

Next update we will have a rumble! Kiet vs Unali on daggers.
I already have the dialogue pretty much. But I figured
if folks want to take bets let me know! :) It is a First
                Blood battle. Not to death.

That was a good battle about 20 seconds or so. There
was about 1200 odd experience earned. Congrats to
Fremea and a few others. See the mana report in
links section for the current updated experience
                and CEL increases and such!
