I’m also sorry for not posting much. I don’t know anything about boats so wasn’t really sure what to say.

dorhak stands at the front of the boat looking out over the water. Beg pardon. It’s a ship, according to the sailors, and it’s the bow? Oh, but more importantly, it's Captain Dorhak. Hah! That's a title worthy of keeping. It might even impress some of the kin back home. Captain Red Wall!

he turns away and heads back to chat with Mournath the Navigator. They talk a bit about the winds, the currents, and the ship's condition. The dwarf reaches up to clap Mournath on the shoulder and tells him he's doing a fine job. The first leg of the journey was easy enough. Cruising down to Kasha, even from the sea, Dorhak could see the fine forest on the coast. That should build quite a few boats, er, ships.

The second leg leg was more eventful, and Dorhak realizes there is more to this Captain-thing than just having his own room. Little decisions need to be made with little notice. Who knew these ships were so fragile! Ye gods! No wonder dwarves don’t like the water. Things break, and there’s no way to fix it. Then there was that crunch and whirlpool. Curse Tiamat! Even Ballbreakers strongest ale never got Dorhak so green and dizzy. Fed the fish that day! At least looking on shore Dorhak could see some nice hills in the distance. He wondered if ther was any good mining in those hills.

Then there are the constant costs! Egad! It’s expensive. Thank Goibniu for Z’leyra the first mate. She knows how to be generous with the expenses. Dorhak feels somewhat responsible, being the captain and all, so offers to pay the tug fees.

dorhak doesn’t really have much he can do, though. Yes, making dozens of decisions each day is doing something, but sometimes it’s nice to just go out and bash some heads. Dorhak thinks that maybe he should offer to wrestle the sailors, or the big hulking one that the other dwarves liked. Kiet said that would be a bad idea though. It was beneath the station of the Captain. Still, should Raddok need a sparing partner with mace and shield, smacking around the big human can’t be beneath his so-called station.

OOC- if Dorhak can help Raddok with some mace or shield training that's fine. He's not all that great with it either, but maybe he can get a workout.

dorhak most certainly wants to use the language necklace. At the first port, Kasha, Dorhak wants to use it for learning Bhamotin. What an odd group of people! Still, they kind of remind Dorhak of home. Everyone so proper, and so concerned with propriety. A little too preachy for this dwarf, however.

The complaints about the food fall on deaf ears, but Z’leyra pulls the dwarf aside to explain that humans need more variety. We dwarves are made of a heartier stock, being used to such depredations. He listens, however, and orders the water and food stores be replenished, and then adds some fresh rations as well. A few of the goats have to be replaced as well.

dorhak approves of the supplies that Z’leyra wants to purchase, then Kiet comes and asks about maybe shipping some product to Vahear. It might make us less suspicious, even though we shouldn’t have trouble there. Dorhak approves but tells him not to slow the boat, dammit, ship! The ship with the cargo.

ooc- I hope this doesn’t give Scott any trouble. He said he might post something today.

dorhak does take a small shore leave at vista or looking for Stone that can be used in his sculptures. Also just to check out the general quality of any stone available in town. If there are any exceptional pieces, Dorhak will consider purchasing it.

on to the next port of call?
