Admin Notes: Added Kevin to Roster. Welcome!

       [Recap]

         From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]

         GM: Ack.

         From Dorhak: [Re: Actions]
Dorhak isn't taking his eyes off the newcomer since she ..

Without relaxing noticeably, Dorhak says in zendali ”if I
give you "my words, then only one profits. If you give..

I owe you a description of Dorhak.
GM: Ack. BTW we have IC- In Character and OOC: Out of character.
Typically I and others can figure out which is what. But
if unsure can use that IC:/OOC: Stuff. Like that lsat line
on description would be OOC. As to a Intro/description you
can share that info and I can even add it to the intro
file for folks. I've not updated it in a while but its still
             around online.

         From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra asks Arawn to help her study the Healing Mist spell
as they travel. She hopes to put as much time as available to
both her and Arawn into studying the spell while they travel.
GM: Ack. So is this your official IBT?

         From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn will happily agree to continuing training Z'leyra in
the Healing Mist spell. He'll set aside his personal training
and focus on training Z'leyra until she's learned the spell or
indicates that she's done training, whichever occurs first.
GM: Ack. Well mini IBT is fine for the hours involved in that
riding you can share the rites/words/gestures. So the
time is there. Then at camp can spend a hour or two testing
what you learned. So it depends on what you had planned
for IBT? Let me know and I can say if you would have the
full time to do so as well.

GM: Ack. I LOVE this stuff Wout!

         From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn demeanor remained calm and approachful even ...

"We're quite happy to see you here, old friend!," ...

[As a PC I'm sure Influence Checks
aren't going to be overly useful when dealing with Unali but
in an effort to help reduce Unali's paranoia Arawn would take
advantage of his Influence Chance/Rhetoric and Elven Empathy
to try and calm her down]
         GM: Ack.

         From Pyan: [Re: Actions]
Pyan moves closer to the dwarf to get a better impression
of the newcomer. Since he doesn't appear to under stand
Marentian Pyan will greet him in Omavor, "Hello. I'm ...

         GM: Ack.

         From Kiet: [Re: Actions]
Kiet goes over to Kell and asks him quietly, "What is...

OOC...I've started a new job that leaves me with somewhat less
time than usual. So, my posting here is really, really late.
Sorry Scott! Anyway, I'll be trying to improve my current
connection capabilities. On the plus side, no more travel
           for months at a time.

Once we get moving, Kiet would like to ride up even with
Unali, close enough to try to make a quiet conversation. "So,
what's going on? You seem so much on edge that your knives
seem like clubs in comparison. What's bothering you?"
GM: Ack. Last comments ignored as one party isn't moving yet
and you know :) Email coming.

       ------------------------------------------------------------
       [New Stuff]

           [Janaq 15th, 1635TH]
[Zen'da Eastern Plains - River Sich edge]

           [Time: 7:19 am]

A cold silence and a chill runs through the party as Unali
stares down the group with eyes that can could frighten a
dragon. Some notice her arms tensing as she holds the dagger
           at the ready.

Not wishing to annoy the gods and spirits Z'leyra had
considered the possibility that one or more of them had wanted
the dwarf to join the party, thus the invitation and leaving
           it up to the dwarf.

In Zen'dali Z'leyra says. "Dorhak. I have a necklace that
once per day can give the wearer a chance to learn a language
that someone is speaking. With your permission I would use that
necklace to learn your native tongue, and then over the next
few days you could use the necklace to try to learn the
languages of several of our party. If you agree, then I will
have you speak your tongue for a bit and I will see if the
magic worked. If you don't agree, well we will have to speak
Zen'dali to communicate with each other, not the native tongue
           for either of us."

"Do you have the skill of riding horses? We travel about 29
miles a day. That would be a very long day if walking. We may
be able to have a pack horse carry you."

To everyone else. "We have many miles to go, Unali, welcome
back! Alright everyone, make sure your gear is strapped on
           and let's go!"

Arawn glances back to the Shaman and wonders why she isn't
getting what's up with Unali? She has known Unali for over 3-4
years yet she can't see the change?

Unali flits her eyes toward Z'leyra wondering why she is
talking to the dwarf. Did they replace her with this small
           hairy thing?

Dorhak isn't taking his eyes off the newcomer since she is
still fondling that dagger. He hears the comment about the
language necklace and thinks about it for a bit. He doesn't
really like the offer much. It's an odd request.

Without relaxing noticeably, Dorhak says in Zendali, "if I
give you my words, then only one profits. If you give me yours,
           we all profit."

Arawn can't help but grin slightly at this. Is this a
dwarf that knows philosophy or does he just speak that way?

Dorhak answers about riding a horse. "no, I don't know how to
ride the beasts. They aren't very useful in the mountains."

Pack horse? Pack horse? "What? You want me to hang off the
beast like a bag of grain?"

Fuk grunts and sighs. He learns to Lucria, "he can't even
           ride or have a horse."

Lucria nods, "he isn't riding with me without shaving that
flea trap and taking a bath."

Fuk shakes his head, "I doubt he can ride with nay of us.
It would off balance everything. Some." He points to Kiet
and Kell. "Are so tight that not even a few pounds can be
added." He finishes this in a small whisper so not to annoy
           others.

Dorhak is undecided, and not sure why. He's not really happy
to go back to Kameri but not really happy to go on alone. But
if the woman in black (not sure yet if she can be called a
lady!) is a good example of these folks, then maybe it's not
           so safe.

Then Dorhak looks at the dead Griffin some 30 or so feet
away. Those things could pick him up and get some nice
pleasure out if. He is so hairy that maybe they'll think him
           a horse?

Dorhak sighs loudly.. "I don't want to go back but it's
better to have companions. If you can figure a way to let me
stay with you I'll go with you."

Lucria whispers to Fuk quickly. This causes Fuk to raise an
eyebrow. His instinct as a constable kicks in. "go back?
           To the Kameran?"

Arawn seems to ignore the others and studies the dagger
maiden. Why is Dorhak so hostile? A heavy axe beats a
dagger. Does the dwarf become worried on that or that
the Unali is on a large horse that could stomp him?

Arawn steps a couple feet closer when Unali switches her
gaze to Fuk and then back to Dorhak. Now Arawn is only about
           10 feet away.

"Perhaps it's just the ride then but you just seem a bit
on edge," Arawn said, drawing attention to Unali's continued
grip on her dagger with a flick of his eyes. He smiled but
when she made the comment about being creeped out by open
spaces he just looked at her in a scrutinizing or perhaps
knowing manner for just a moment before letting it pass. He
then greeted her horse in its own tongue before joining the
conversation between Z'leyra and the dwarf.

Arawn recalls that Unali can't understand the horse tongue.
Maybe Arawn can convince the horse later to gently dump
her so they can deal with her? Arawn can tell even the horse
seems on edge as it doesn't lower his head to graze. But
           that is an option.

"Assuming Dorhak decides to accompany us, why not have him
use the necklace first? Once he's learned Marentian it should
ease communication. I don't see a reason for us to wait another
day to begin open conversation," Arawn suggested.

Unali grits her teeth. Now Arawn is talking about this dwarf
going with them? She wonders why she came if she would be so
           easily replaced.

Arawn grinned politely when Dorhak voiced his concerns about
being strapped as gear on one of the horses. As she speaks
he gestures to those who can understand to group up so he can
           do a quick chat.

"No such worry, good Dorhak. Z'leyra was just suggesting that
you might be able to ride on one of the pack horses, as we do.
I would offer you a ride but Corsaya is a bit particular about
           whom she chooses to bear.

Kiet looks around, did he say pack horses? Where are they
on the other side of the river? Z'leyra ordered no spare horses.
It is now 1 horse per person. Did Arawn pack a pack horse in
           his bags?

You've been welcomed and if you decide against this, is
there another place you'd rather be? If not, then at least
join us until the morning. You'll have shelter, food and a
warm fire while you make your final decision."

Unali grabs her dagger quite a bit stronger, knuckles turning
white, as Arawn mentions that she seems at edge. When Arawn
speaks to her horse, she gives her horse the spurs and rides
away some 20 feet, muttering: "I knew you don't want me here.
There is no need to turn him against me. Stay away. STAY AWAY."
and she pats her horse as if needing reassurance.

Kiet frowns and steps back. She is not herself. Kiet begins
to murmur a few words and gestures lightly. He nods. the
           nods again and then frowns.

Arawn turns away and raises his hands in a gesture of peace.
Then turns to the others and gathers all but Dorhak who is
still staring at the wild woman. Arawn quickly begins to
whisper to the group about Unali.

Kiet listens to Arawn warn about Unali and smiles. Could
the Alfar not realize it? Could he have one on the Elf?
           Arawn turns back to Unali.

Arawn demeanor remained calm and approachful even as Unali
reacted, spurring her steed away. He sensed that words alone
would not prove sufficient to ease her paranoia though he
chose a few to hopefully ease things until an answer to the
           dilemma presented itself.

Unali glances up and sees Corona circling. Why is that
bird getting too close? She glances down at her sling. She
could probably take him out with a shot if he gets too close.
But then something in back of her mind says the eagle never
           miss treated her badly.

"We're quite happy to see you here, old friend!," Arawn
said, exuding as much warmth and ease as was possible to help
smooth her rippled and ragged being. "Feel free to join us
           when you're ready!"

Unali seems to listen and the words seem to flow like music
out of the Alfar. This makes her wonder where Raban is and
her mouth seems to flicker at the handsome man. Unali then
hears Arawn and for a second or two relaxes her hand and raises
it a half inch off her dagger. Then she sees the Dwarf kick
dirt and places it back on the dagger.

Arawn notices this and realizes the dwarf is the big issue.
Maybe if he can lower his axe and relax his battle stance
           then Unali might relent.

Pyan moves closer to the dwarf to get a better impression
of the newcomer. Since he doesn't appear to under stand
Marentian Pyan will greet him in Omavor, "Hello. I'm
Pyandalgor." Then smiles politely holding out hope that the
           dwarf will understand him.

Arawn is glad to see Pyan distract the dwarf. Now to figure
out a way to help Unali.

Pyan goes to Kiet and asks in Omavor "I haven't known her for
long but does Unali seem usual to you?"

Kiet is startled as the hunter has spoken more today than
has in weeks. Maybe Unali should go crazy more often. But
Kiet looks at Unali, Pyan and then Dorhak.

Kiet is examining the dwarf somewhat. He's seen few of these
little beings, although he might think of this one more of as a
           'thing'. He's not sure yet.

Z'leyra was pretty fast to invite him to the party, and Kiet
is not really comfortable with that. However, he does trust
Z's judgement normally. Also, Kiet doesn't know of any
reputation the dwarves have for deception either.

At least he is smaller than is Kiet himself! The only other
person Kiet doesn't have to look up to is Fremea, but she has
to be grounded for that or he still has to look up!

Kiet says in his own broken Zen'da. "Please, Dorhak. Join us
for the short trip. I will offer to feed you from here to The
Kameran. I would like to learn more about your kind."

Fuk steps forward, "does he have a horse? If not him walking
           could double our trip."

Kiet goes over to Kell and asks him quietly, "What is with
Unali? She's acting pretty odd. She looks like she wants to
scrape Dorhak off her boots or something."

Kiet already knows what is up but wants to see if Kell is
around as he has taken Pyan's place on the non speaking side.

           Actions? Comments?

           Next Update..Friday??

GM: Sorry for no update Friday. Started super late Thursday
and ran out of time. Tried saturday but with 4 hours
sleep I was too brain dead that night. So here goes. I
was hoping folks would decide how Dorhak is traveling? No
pack animal. Shifting gear to ride with another could be
very problematic. So what now? Anyone have spare magical
               flying pants?

I LOVE the whole Unali thing. I know this is slowing things
down but we still can't move until Dorhak figures out if
running really really fast or the horses moving half speed.
But I want to do Kudos to Wout on the great role playing.
Its some of the best I've seen in YEARS. A indeed for sure.
There is a reason to it and hopefully will be soon depending
on how things go from here.

So options for Dorhak. Walk slow (speed of what 12 miles
per day?) run fast maybe get 15 and get exhausted? :)

I am off Thursday so I'd like posts/actions by Thursday
no later than noon EST so I can start. If all done by
Wednesday great but can take Thursday. Last Thursday I
got some late posts and that did delay things.
