<The smash heads together maneuver sounds so easy in the stories,
but Raban has never gotten it to work. At least this time the
heads did not come off first...so messy <Fun scene ;)
GM: Ack. It worked halfway. But with two targets moving and weaving
it is harder than it really is for doing right. But you're
a bit big for Curly, too quiet for Moe so maybe larry?

[Julis 26th, 1634TH]
[Location: Middle Katai Plains, Shantou Province]
[ 20 Miles south of Shantou City ]
[ Old Shantou Carnival Grounds ]
[Time: 2:38:36pm]
Fremea aims with her back to the front of the house at the last
Vong outside. It is only about 8 feet away and she has no problem
hitting the warrior in the right shoulder doing a massive wound
causing the arrow to penetrate through to the other side. It
does the final damage to kill the wounded Vong but no cold effect
seems to go off as his magic resists but it isn't needed. The
Vong goes limp onto the ground.
Inside Z'leyra reloads and raises her sling. She fires at
the fleeing Vong down the hall at a greater distance now. The
bullet goes flying down the hallway 25 feet and hits the Vong in
the lower right back doing a minor wound only.
Will with arms crossed watches the fight in the hall and is
eager for something to do. As he considers this he suddenly
falls to the floor becoming solid.
Raban sees the last Vong fall and jogs toward the house door.
He steps toward the downed Vong and steps on his chest and
murmurs something like "sorry." The weight of the giant
seems to finish off the Vong if he was just knocked out before.
He ducks and enters the house first and immediately doesn't
see anyone but just a room that might be a lounge or living
room with a fireplace and sitting furniture.
Unali thrusts forward with her dual daggers and the magical
dagger hits the Vong in the neck doing massive damage killing
him before the other dagger lands in the upper center chest
doing more but not needed additional damage. The strike kills
the warrior before he hits the floor. She glances forward and
sees a door to the front and right. If she recalls the female
is in that room and the other is the storage room if she can
understand the layout Z'leyra relayed to Will.
Farseeker shifts to the left a foot and then brings down his large
great sword to his right downward and then using a arc he sends the
blade back up building speed and force with the blow. He hopes
to simply slice the Vong's chest but the blade goes high as the
Vong tries to block with his staff. The two handed large sword
goes above the warrior's left arm and hits him in the neck.
A half second later the head of the Vong goes tumbling left and
down the hallway. Black blood shoots upward and Farseeker kicks
out with his foot to force the body and gore to the other side
of the hallway. He glances at Unali has black gore and blood
bits on her left side of her black clothing. Of course in her
black clothing its hardly noticed. Farseeker gives a sheepish
look and a "sorry" expression. Then his blade lowers to the
ground and he eyes it with dismay. That must've damaged the
sword.
Inside the bedroom Chion can hear something tumble and fall
in the hallway. He wonders if they are playing some kind of
ball game outside. Tired of this cramped room he thrusts forward
with a fake then pulls back and thrusts again at his true target.
The sai dagger hits Vong #1 in the lower left abdomen and does
the final damage to kill the warrior who is already damaged.
The warrior slumps back against the west wall.
Ben'dar nods to Fremea in thanks and quickly heads inside to
join Raban.
Kell runs toward the house as well.
The last Vong in the house turns to see Ben'dar and Raban
enter the house. He knows things are bad and he is likely
trapped. He charges Ben'dar and thrusts his amphistaff but
fails to hit.
Will heads over to the shaper to check her out and sees
she is not breathing. The headdress is still attached and
he notices the snakes aren't moving as fast. In fact only
one seems to be alive still and its seems sluggish. He
turns to the bed and then to the door and heads there. He
notices the two Vong there are dead and shakes his head.
Caladan, Whitney and Strie'bog head toward the house.
[Time: 2:38:39pm]
Raban finds the room and house cramped with only a 6
foot ceiling he has to duck and its annoying! He can't
fight in a place like this. Ben'dar is in front of him
and in the way. But there is a chair he could move to get
to the Vong. He lifts the wooden chair and finds it goes
up a few feet but the area is too cramp to move it behind
him. Grumbling he simply throws the chair at the Vong.
the chair hits the Vong in the right arm and chest sending
him toward the north wall. The chair now destroyed flies
apart in many pieces. The Vong goes tumbling to the wall
and up against it. It would appear the Vong did take some
good damage.
Z'leyra fires her sling but as the Vong is thrown up against
the wall she misses.
Ben'dar charges forward and thrusts his spear at the Vong but
the warrior is trying to dodge and get back up so fast the spear
fails to hit.
Kell charges with his own spear and impales the Vong in the
right chest doing the final damage to kill him as he slumps
to the ground.
[Time: 2:38:42pm - 2:38:52pm]
Over the next ten seconds the house is searched and there are
no more Vong alive or hidden. On the second floor the two other
bedrooms contain prisoners. Where Chion was the adult elderly
male, the assumed caretaker himself, is alive. He shows signs of
bruises, cuts and welts likely from beating or torture but is
in otherwise fair shape.
The bedroom next to him the adult female, likely his wife,
is sadly dead. It is unclear if Z'leyra or anyone could've
saved her if they got to her first. She oddly shows a lack of
torture but seems to have possibly died from heart failure as
she is in her late 50s maybe 60s. She shows sign of possible
heart failure like spots on the eyes or maybe even being
strangled? it is unclear from the quick inspection. But
it is clear she is beyond hope.
The second floor other rooms the bathroom and storage are
empty. Downstairs only the one Vong Raban played bar brawl
with the chair is there. The rooms on the first floor is
a small office, storage area/closet, kitchen, dining room that
could fit a good amount and a living room with fireplace where
the group entered.
All in total there were ten Vong warriors and the female
Vong in the caretaker with three prisoners
Outside the horses clump about 30 feet from the house around
Tef'wo and graze on the grass.
To the distant north Arawn and Zhou work on the female. With
Arawn's horse there Zhou covers her up with a blanket for now
but makes her as comfortable as she can. Arawn soon realizes
that removing the coral could be tricky. It is not known what
it will do to the body. Her chest alone cold be a major work
if it is removed and she might not make it after that. She
is stable but her pulse is weak but not critical. Zhou
turns to Kiet and yells, "If you see Z'leyra send her here."
But on the wagon that now faces north away from the house
Kiet sits on the wagon and looks around. By now the others have
entered the house and assume to be doing well but it is unclear.
No one has left the house yet. He begins to consider the day
so far and figures some inside are probably tapped out with
their magical energy especially the scouts. He considers
"at least it could be worse but its over now." As he sighs a
bit of relief he glances to the east. Then bolts up in the
seat and glances. There in the distance is a humanoid running
toward the west. He appears to have come from the small
building that the party skipped near the end of the road in
the east. He is waving his arms and running fast. Then
a second later another humanoid exits the small structure.
This one seems to be running as well. No. Kiet soon realizes
that the two a good half mile away are running this way but
the second seems to be chasing the other?
Kiet considers going to get Unali's bag to get her spyglass
but one time someone tried that and she didn't seem to like
that and she could kill him with a good flick of her wrist.
That might not be good to go about her personal gear. He
considers Fremea's spyglass but it is inside the wagon likely.
Kiet squints and then soon realizes a second later that the
two humanoids are Vong. Their distinct gray heads seem to glisten
in the sunlight and show that non-pale skin humans have. So
why is one Vong frantic seeming and being chased by another?
Kiet then turns his head to warn Zhou but as he twists
he suddenly notices another odd thing. In the north west
in the distance behind the north edge of the barn is a dust
cloud. As his eyes adjust to the glare of the sun in that
distance he notices a large group of horses round the edge
of the barn and round it.
Kiet raises a hand to his forehead and squints and counts
the horses. One...two...five...seven....ten...twelve! These
horses are clearly being controlled by humans.
North of the wagon Zhou glances up to see the riders suddenly
come around the north end of the barn. Where did they come
from he wonders? The field out here is wide open and can
see for miles. Unless they used the sun as a shield and the
blocking of buildings like the tall barn? He squints as
Arawn talks about something but he loses concentration as he
counts the horses. He speaks over Arawn and says. "Horses!
Katai men coming!"
Arawn stops his check of the female and glances over his
shoulder to the north. He sees the riders and notices with
his slightly better eyes though blinded a bit by the sunlight
they are all wearing the same clothing or at least same style.

GM: I've removed the other map to use this new map of the
situation. Keep in mind the large scale.

GM: Just when you thought things settled down huh? :) There
is a reason for this that will eventually be clear. I
did not hear of any words on the holiday so will do a post
Monday night. I got this update out early and did the
extra phase of action to end the house combat. Since
this is out early you get extra time to flee or consider
your moves. :) Happy Memorial day!

Note: Building E to G is 250 feet between buildings. Arawn/Zhou and
female are about 150 feet north of building G. Wagon is about 50
feet south of that roughly.
The horses are about 400-500 feet away. If an average horse goes
60 feet per phase it will take 20-30 seconds for them to arrive on
the scene if my math is right. For the Vong they are 3,600 feet away
roughly over half a mile. So if they run fast it will take them 5-10
min if they tire out and slow down.
