     [Recap]

From Fremea: [Re: Teaching Raban spells]
          [*** Raban's email deleted for space ***]

When Fremea hears Raban asking to be taught, she inwardly thinks
to herself, is she good enough to actually teach this man. What
if he turns on her, though he has done everything he can to
protect her. For a little bit she struggles with herself and
then finally speaks up, "Raban, it would be my pleasure to teach
you the powers, though I am not sure I am worthy enough to be
          called a teacher."

          Re: Neutral magics]
Fremea wonders out loud, "What are neutral powers? I have never
heard of such things. From what Arawn talks about, everything
          is aligned to something."
        GM: Ack.

                        --------------------------

        From Raban: [Re: Spells/Armor]
          [*** Fremea's email deleted for space ***]

Raban smiles happily, "Frema, I am sure you would be a wonderful
teacher. But I am sure it is not difficult to teach a spell, you
just need to tell me what you were taught. But if it requires
use of Sidh language then I will have some other problems as I
do not know that one yet. I will be able to return the favor
someday, as I have little magic I can teach you right now."

          [Re: Neutral magic]
Raban answers, "I worship a neutral Goddess. The Neutral powers
came about because there were many that thought the various wars
between Law and Chaos, Sidh and Kotothi were destroying all that
exists. Balance stands between Law and Chaos but may side against
others. Elder stands between Sidh and Kotothi but may side
against others as well. Neutral stands between everyone in effect
and attempts to reign them in, to limit wars and maintain the
balance of nature, to protect existence. It is a difficult place
to stand, but most often we are called upon to work against
Chaos or Kotothi as they tend to be the most combative and
destructive. But the call is not just to fight but to heal and
to rebuild if needed. For Bards it is often to teach against
such violent acts as well. That is part why I do not like to
hurt things if I can help it, but sometimes it is necessary.
Because together they became a new alignment, they could also
create their own magics. I can learn any Neutral, Elder or Sidh
magic as well as my Bardic spells, which shows Bards are closer
aligned to the Elder sides than some. But there are those once
of Chaos as well as other unlikely alignments that have chosen
to become Neutral, it can be quite surprising."

<Raban knows a lot actually due to memory training but I did not
look it up for this reply, still should be close.>
        GM: Ack. Good explanation!

                        --------------------------

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra suggests to Raban to take their offer of decent magical
armor. It may be awhile till she can make armor for him....and
          armor DOES wear out.

If Unali's dagger needs repair Z'leyra can take some time from
making sling bullets to fix the dagger.
        GM: Ack.

                        --------------------------

        From Raban: [Re: Actions]
Raban sighs, he will miss out on the fun of standing near nude
while Z'leyra measures him for the armor...
"Then I will do as you suggest, Z'leyra. But does magical armor
get ruined that easily? It seems such a waste for that much
effort not to last. So what type of Armor would you suggest I
have them make? One reasonably comfortable and flexible yet
durable enough to last a while.
I have only worn leathers I made for myself and obviously they
were not much help other than to stop travel damages like
          thorns."
          [*** Z'leyra's email deleted for space ***]
        GM: Ack.

                        --------------------------

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra answers "It would take me nine days of effort to make you
a set of leather armor, longer if I made it artistic. The evening
it was finished I would enchant it and you would have a set of
leather that equals normal chainmail in protecting against damage
from weapons. Chainmail, even magical chainmail, does wear out.
Each blow that gets through tears a rent that weakens the armor.
The stronger the armor the more it takes to weaken it. Against
skilled, strong or lucky opponents armor may be weakened so much
as to be nearly useless. When I have time I shall have to repair
          my own armor."

"Again, I suggest that you get as good armor as you can get. You
saw how long your normal leather armor lasted, chainmail or its
equivalent would both protect more and last longer...magical
plate armor might last a lifetime of combats only rarely needing
          repair."

"So no. It would be better for me to use my time elsewhere than
to make and enchant leather armor. You can get chain or better
armor from the folks here. Currently I do not have time to make
the armor that I think you should have."
          [*** Raban's email deleted for space ***]

     [New Stuff]

        [Apris 6th, 1634TH. 9th Day of Adventure #4.
[Location: High Elder's domain - Citadel, Dark Lands, Forest]

        GM: Fremea's IBT actions...

[Fremea rests on the days back to the Citadel. Having spent
out most of her magical strength for the flying island.
Several in the party give their thanks and gratitude for her
control of the Seker and Glyph. Without her the party might
have failed. The party knows they worked well as a team
and everyone did a great job to prevent disaster.]

[By Apris 7th the morning starts fresh for Fremea in the
Citadel. Fully energized and regained strength, she plans
her attack on the Dirasa. Having spoken to Oby on trying to
learn of any information about the Dirasa and their lair, he
sends Zhou to find those answers. The last few days since the
party left from the Chaos Domain, Arawn has been teaching
Fremea Scimitar skill so she can try to use her newly found
Elven sword. This training will continue on for several more
days up to and including Apris 12th. By then she seems to
have a good understanding of the basics of the sword.]

[Morning of Apris 7th, heading to the Inn for day sleep, since
she is sun-shy after all, she finds a horse with no owner seems
to be following her. Fremea walks a few paces forward & stops
& the horse does the same. Glancing back the horse nods its
head and wiggles his ears. Fremea shrugs and moves on as the
sun is coming up, now around 6:35am. After another minute
the horse continues to follow her. She turns and with hands
on hips senses outward to find the horse is normal. It isn't
a wizard changed into a horse. The horse approaches slowly
and stops a foot away. Fremea knows she could fly the rest of
the way to the Inn and avoid the horse but something draws
her to pet the horse. She touches his head and the horse
shivers slightly. After a few minutes she realizes the horse
is just a bit lonely. Soon a guard comes and takes the horse
explaining it got loose from the stable. Fremea whispers to
the horse she'll visit him soon if he is still there, then
             continues to the Inn.]

[Before treasure is divided up and sold in the Dark Lands,
Fremea makes a last minute claim. Seeing her dagger damaged
she needs the Elven sword that isn't claimed. She got the
other one but the non magical one has enough material to
fix her dagger with. Arawn explains the secret of Elven
manufacture shouldn't be done lightly without caution. The
Armorer is watched all the time he is melting down the sword
to repair the dagger. What is left of the alloys is made
into more Elven arrow heads for Fremea since she is done
to a few in her quiver. The Bowyer spends a few days making
those arrowheads not knowing they are Elven alloys.]

[Impatient two days pass when Zhou finally returns with a book
for Fremea to read. But when Zhou learns she can't read it
he reads the information to her all that they know about the
Dirasa. The information was written by a long dead scholar
a couple decades ago. Indeed the creatures are Kotothi
but not all powerful. A good blow could kill each one by
most good warriors. They are not strong but quite agile
since they can fly. Compared to most creatures their hide
are light for most weapons. They have low magical defense
and can number as much as 4 in one area. As far as the Scholar
could determine they aren't supernatural summonable creatures.
The scholar from what he could tell in hiding-study was they
are quite stupid at least 3 times less intelligent than humans.
Just slightly more dumber than even dogs. But they seem to
work out of pure instinct. Scholar reports they were night
creatures and meat-eaters. The creatures deity seems to be
Nebeth the Serpent deity and consort of Kototh. At that
Fremea cringes and grits her teeth. The vile creatures even
have some divine love and observance is disgusting. The
book describes them but Fremea knows it already having been
attacked by one. On average they are only 1 foot in length.
They have banded green and red with white wings. Their fangs
and claws are their main weapons. At the next part Fremea
perks up. The scholar had to spend years to learn this other
information. Seems they can sense Sidh within a quarter mile
maybe a mile but likely only a quarter mile. When they do
sense them they are compelled to attack. Fremea can use this
to her advantage. But it makes sneaking up harder for both
her and Arawn. Their fangs have death poison that is
especially potent for Sidh creatures. Fremea also learns
Faerry can't sense them nearby with their own sensing ability.
The foul creatures were made especially to kill Faerry and
that upsets Fremea. Fremea then learns they like nests in
mid-level height trees. Some might prefer small holes in
trees or the ground and bushes. The scholar doesn't know
their terrain of choice. But he mentions usually a pile of
bones can be found near their nest of small creatures after
they discard them. Fremea thanks Zhou and asks him to fetch
the two guards she asked for earlier, a tracker and one a
             forest guide of the area.]

[On the way away from Zhou, Fremea goes to the Inn to fetch
her gear ready for the attack this night. She realizes it is
near lunch around 11:37am and feels a bit hungry these human
timed meals seems to have gotten to her. Going on the west
side of the Citadel's dirt path to the front gate she notices
a group of 17 humans assembling about. Hiding behind a tree
she hears Zhou and guards speaking to the group. She quickly
learns they are agitated by the Kll'Maun, specifically the
Soraun, crossing into their domain at the south border and
causing trouble with hunting of their game. Some blame even
the Sorceress behind it and demand justice. Zhou eventually
quiets the group and they disperse. Fremea takes note of the
situation and continues to the Inn.]

[Zhou reports that the guide has been called away but he will
be back that night. Fremea sad acknowledges and knows they'll
be awake tonight. So tomorrow they hunt, bright and early in
             the morning.]

[Two hours before sunrise Fremea finds Arawn, the tracker and
the guide ready by the Citadel gate. While the three mount
she decides to fly. The guide reports hunters have seen
bone piles south east of the citadel about 5 or so miles. He
knows the place and will take them there. Cautious and alert
the party move onward. Soon twilight breaks to the morning
rays of sunlight. Knowing the Dirasa will be heading to their
lair for sleep the party prepare. Soon the first pile is found
but no creatures or lair. Ten minutes later another pile is
found but this one of a large deer obviously a bear or larger
animal kill. Frustrated it takes another 25 minutes before a
third pile is found. This time its small animals like birds,
snakes and rabbits. Knowing they must be near the party backs
             away and plan their action.]

[Knowing that the creatures can sense Sidh they haven't
attacked yet means they must not be able to sense Sidh while
sleeping. Fremea explains the guards are to help if they need
to. Arawn and Fremea approach quietly and soon discover a
large mass of plant growth near the side of the tree about 22
feet up. Fremea explains she'll go attack and draw them out
if needed. She knows this is her revenge, not Arawn's. She
wants to do them harm for what they did to her. Arawn isn't
dumb with his empathic ability he can sense her intent as
well but knows these creatures should be destroyed.
Especially if some foul wizard got them and used them against
             other Sidh.]

[Fremea casts a concealing mist spell and soon is blocked by
human vision but not Arawn's. Fremea draws her dagger and
flies up as quietly as she can to the branches. The fool
creatures must still be sleeping. Landing on the thick branch
she notices the creatures must be in a hole inside the tree
itself, a deep hole. She could down the tree or burn them out
but knows that is a quick death not a painful and slow one
they deserve. Creeping along she notices there are only 3 of
the beasts. The one she killed might've been part of this
hive. Creeping up to the hole. As she gets within a foot of
the hole she hears the branch creak and some of the twigs and
gathered up plant growth begins to fall.]

[Suddenly one creature rears up and howls an alarm. Fremea
moves forward and swipes her dagger at the mid section of the
one who just sounded the alarm. The dagger swipes across the
creature's left shoulder and does 4 points to it. The
creature claws at her chest just under her chest but fails to
penetrate her armor. At this distance it got a lucky strike
but the others shouldn't be able to see her. By now the other
two wake up and Fremea turns to one that isn't hurt. Groggy
and confused she grabs one of them and flings it over her
shoulder out the hole to fall down below, after forcing its
head hard up against the top of the hole making it dizzy
enough not to fly. A second later the dazed creature falls
just below Arawn's foot and Arawn stabs it in one wing and
stands on the other wing. He cuts one wing off. Meanwhile
the 3rd creature tries to find Fremea but is lost in the mist
             that fills the hole.]

[The wounded Dirasa stops moving and suddenly falls flat on its
back, leaving only one Dirasa left. Smiling Fremea enters the
hole and uses a small lasso she setup earlier with her cord to
capture the tiny creature around the mid section holding its
wings tight against its back and only allowing one claw to
flail. She yells down she is okay and will explore the nest.
She drags the lassoed creature closer and carves off his wings
and then the small ends of his hands that serve for claws.
Smiling she says a few words the creature can't understand but
sounds like a taunt and grabs the thin neck. She squeezes
tighter and tighter and sees the creature flail for breath.
She releases her grip and lets him get some air then tightens
again doing this game for two more tries. Finally tired of it
she twists the neck and kills the creature. The one on its
back doesn't seem to be moving but she notices it is still
alive. Down below Arawn finishes off the creature with one
quick thrust of his sword. Not even a big threat.]

[Arawn glances up but only sees the rear of Fremea out the
hole still moving about alive and taking a bit too long.
Inside the large tree, Fremea examines the wounded Dirasa and
notices his eyes are glaring. She wonders if Nebeth or Kototh
could be seeing her now through those eyes. She vows not to
let their evil live longer than they deserve. To prove her
point she slices the creature's throat and kills the creature.
Fremea sighs, not so much a threat when not ambushing a Faerry
are they? Of course if one were woken up and ambushed chances
were low for survival. Fremea wonders if she should've hunt
for them at night to at least have a challenge. She looks
around the hole and finds feathers, bones, bugs but no
treasure of value for her or others. She tosses both bodies
down below. Flying down she tells the tracker to set a fire
and burn them. They will not be used for evil materials by
folks like Itom. She glances down at her bracelet that Kiet
gave her and knows if she had used it the hunt might have been
fun and even a challenge. But since they were cornered the
item would have been useless. She recalls the private talk
they had and before she burns the bodies takes a scale from
one of the creatures. That she will keep for herself and
not out of her sight if she can help it. Not in these lands
at least. After awhile the four return back to the Citadel.]

[Returning back that afternoon Arawn returns to his own projects
and Fremea is happy to rid this domain of the foul creatures
but wonders how many more might be out there. Later after 4pm
she explores the small merchant market set outside the
Citadel. This sight isn't uncommon around the Citadel on
certain days. But today she notices two merchants are
plotting to get rid of another merchant, a simple egg dealer,
by treachery. Believing she is just a simple girl too stupid
or immature to understand she overhears the conversation. She
can understand only part of the conversation but finds they
will plant a egg of a creature in his basket and let it hatch
and attack some person. Then the guards will kick him out so
they can take his place selling eggs. She watches one of the
young men place the brown egg among the elderly egg seller's
basket while the other man distracts him. Walking back to
their stalls selling meat and hides she decides this isn't
fair. She could tell the guards but they might not believe
her. So she decides to pretend looking at the eggs and deftly
snatches the egg. Feeling the warm egg move as if its about
to hatch she quickly makes her way to the man selling the
hide and leather finished goods. Waiting for her chance
she slips the egg into a pouch and backs away. Soon after
five couples visit the stall. One lady decides the pouch
looks interesting and examines it. Having cracked the egg with
her fingernail, Fremea smiles as the egg shatters further
under the shaking of the pouch. The creature a lizard like
creature jumps on the lady and she screams. Confused the lady
tries to get the lizard like creature off her and finally does.
But not before her husband gets into a fight and punches the
merchant out. Soon guards arrive and investigate and the
guards boot the hide merchant out of the market for a month.
Fremea continues on her way knowing that no one was hurt and
a old man's business was saved. The good merchant, the
egg dealer is left alone. The bad men the meat and hide
dealers have their plot ended by Fremea.]

[That night near the end of the day for her, little after 5am,
Fremea decides a final walk of the night before going to bed
is good. Even this early in the morning there is always 10-20
people around the village and lake always roaming around.
Magic and magic training it seems never stops in this area.
Near the lake south of the Citadel she notices a group of
25-30 folks. Large for this time of night. They seem to be
watching something in the lake. When she nears she discovers
a Wizard and his apprentices are re-enacting some great duel
in the lake. Based on the mana level she can sense from the
duel it is toned down so it must be fake. Listening it indeed
is some fight between a Law and Chaos wizard on, around and in
the lake. She wonders if this is a normal ceremony or just
more training. Eventually the "law" wizard, an apprentice of
around 18 years old, fells the "chaos" wizard with a sword
that emits a energy ball of lightning.]

[Two days later on the 12th, mid-afternoon after 4pm, Fremea
is checking her new friend the lonely horse. When she hears
a noise in the stable and discovers a young girl about 13.
The girl seems nervous and upset and it takes Fremea a long
time to get close to her. Eventually Fremea discovers she
is a runaway from a nearby Law Domain. Her brother, 17, had
killed her cat accidentally when a spell failed. Fremea
who seems to find children, especially lost ones, more to her
liking than adults sits and talks to the girl for several
hours. Eventually Fremea is able to persuade the girl to
return home. Fremea recalls stories the party told her about
others failing in her group. Jordi making sound like it was
amplified 20 times when he did anything. Z'leyra when she
tried to study a item and was knocked out. Among other
things. If powerful people like them can then certainly
apprentices can. Fremea convinces a guard to escort the girl
home and ensure the boy and girl make up. The guard is not
sure how she snuck past the front gate. Maybe the girl has
some inner power she doesn't even know about.]

[Those who notice Fremea around the Citadel notice her playing
around the markets a couple days. She is in disguised as a
girl child and is trying her skills in this area. Some miss
her but those who know Xian and his disguise skills realize
it is her with some concentration.]

[Apris 13th, around 4:30pm rounding the corner of the Citadel
grounds outside on the west road, Fremea runs into the meat
merchant. The one who tried to ruin the egg seller. Fremea in
her human girl disguise notices the wagon is moving away from
her north to the village. On it sits some crates of meat and
from her senses must be magical cooling to keep the crates
cold for the meat. Looking to the Citadel towers the guards
don't seem to be paying much attention down below today, since
the Elder is still gone. She flies toward one tree on the
west side of he road in a round about fashion so not to be
seen. Hidden in bushes she watches as the wagon approach
with its sole driver. As the two horses near she casts Sleep
mist and the horses drive through the fog like mist. Being a
merchant not magic user the merchant only thinks it to be
smoke or fog. But suddenly the two horses stop and soon fall
asleep. Standing in the middle of the road. The merchant
tries to whip them awake but can't wake them. Confused soon
the merchant runs off to get a guard to help him figure out
what is going on. That's when Fremea exits the bushes and
quickly flies to the wagon. Not seeing anyone on the road
she opens the crates to the open air. Flying off just as a
peasant begins to walk south from the village she scares a
flock of birds in the nearby woods toward the wagon. When
the birds who aren't scared for long notice the meat they
land and swarm the wagon. Soon with bird calls other birds
come and raid the wagon's food. Fremea watches sitting from
             a nearby tree and smiles.]

[The morning of the 14th, Unali and Chion notice Fremea being
escorted into the manor house where the Elder lives. She
is taken by Zhou then Oby meets her at the door. She doesn't
exit for almost 45 minutes or so later.]

[The night of the 14th, little after 8pm, Fremea is sitting on
top of the east wall. By now the guards have been informed of
her presence and know she isn't a threat. She notices though a
group of 11 patrolmen form up on horses, full armor, torches
and weapons. She counts about 11 of them and she notices them
head east. If it weren't for the fact the meeting was in the
morning she would follow and see what they were up to. It
isn't common to see patrolmen about, usually one or two. But
this large group is unusual. Then she realizes the Elder must
be back. She turns and looks at the manor house and the Tower,
his workshop, the tallest building in the area. That's when
she notices a light in the tower faintly and realizes he must
be back. She knows that no one is allowed near the tower
within a good 50 feet. The guards in the nearby sentry tower
would take care of those who tried it. She glances about and
wonders what the next day will bring about for this group of
             mixed adventurers.]

GM: Next time Unali's adventures hopefully....

                                ---------------------

        [Apris 6th, 1634TH. 9th Day of Adventure #4.
[Location: High Elder's domain - Citadel, Dark Lands, Forest]

[When Raban asks to learn from Fremea some of the spells he
has seen her use in the past, she is concerned. For years
she was beat down physically and emotionally and that causes
a lack of self esteem. Could a simple Fae like her teach
a giant of a man her magic? Sure he has tried to protect
her but what if he uses the knowledge and betrays her like
so many human adults have? After a long mental struggle
             she finally replies.]

Fremea: "Raban, it would be my pleasure to teach you the
powers, though I am not sure I am worthy enough to be called
              a teacher."

[Raban smiles and knows that everyone has to learn from
             someone even the first teacher.]

Raban: "Fremea, I am sure you would be a wonderful teacher. But
I am sure it is not difficult to teach a spell, you just need
to tell me what you were taught. But if it requires use of
Sidh language then I will have some other problems as I do
not know that one yet. I will be able to return the favor
someday, as I have little magic I can teach you right now."

[Few minutes later Fremea speaks on neutral magic that Chion
             spoke about.]

Fremea: "What are neutral powers? I have never heard of such
things. From what Arawn talks about, everything is aligned
              to something."

Raban: "I worship a neutral Goddess. The Neutral powers came
about because there were many that thought the various wars
between Law and Chaos, Sidh and Kotothi were destroying all
that exists. Balance stands between Law and Chaos but may side
against others. Elder stands between Sidh and Kotothi but may
side against others as well. Neutral stands between everyone
in effect and attempts to reign them in, to limit wars and
maintain the balance of nature, to protect existence. It is
a difficult place to stand, but most often we are called
upon to work against Chaos or Kotothi as they tend to be
the most combative and destructive. But the call is not
just to fight but to heal and to rebuild if needed. For
Bards it is often to teach against such violent acts as
well. That is part why I do not like to hurt things if I
can help it, but sometimes it is necessary. Because together
they became a new alignment, they could also create their
own magics. I can learn any Neutral, Elder or Sidh magic as
well as my Bardic spells, which shows Bards are closer
aligned to the Elder sides than some. But there are those
once of Chaos as well as other unlikely alignments that have
chosen to become Neutral, it can be quite surprising."

                                ----------

[Z'leyra plans her own projects for the next almost two weeks
and finds she may not have time to do Raban decent armor.
She tells Raban the bad news and he should take the High
Elder's offer for armor. Raban sighs, knowing that he'll
miss the fun of standing near nude while Z'leyra measures
him for the armor. After all he isn't sure some tailor tape
is that long for certain parts.]

Raban: "Then I will do as you suggest, Z'leyra. But does
magical armor get ruined that easily? It seems such a waste
for that much effort not to last. So what type of Armor would
you suggest I have them make? One reasonably comfortable and
flexible yet durable enough to last a while. I have only worn
leathers I made for myself and obviously they were not much
help other than to stop travel damages like thorns."

Z'leyra: "It would take me nine days of effort to make you a
set of leather armor, longer if I made it artistic. The
evening it was finished I would enchant it and you would have
a set of leather that equals normal chainmail in protecting
against damage from weapons. Chainmail, even magical
chainmail, does wear out. Each blow that gets through tears
a rent that weakens the armor. The stronger the armor the
more it takes to weaken it. Against skilled, strong or lucky
opponents armor may be weakened so much as to be nearly
useless. When I have time I shall have to repair my own
              armor."

"Again, I suggest that you get as good armor as you can get.
You saw how long your normal leather armor lasted, chainmail
or its equivalent would both protect more and last longer...
magical plate armor might last a lifetime of combats only
              rarely needing repair."

"So no. It would be better for me to use my time elsewhere
than to make and enchant leather armor. You can get chain or
better armor from the folks here. Currently I do not have
time to make the armor that I think you should have."

        Next Update...Monday...

GM: I'm 5/9ths done with the IBT actions. So half way there. Plus
we will have two new characters and I have to process them when
I find the time (har har). One step at a time. Next is Unali
and I've started her process. Hope to be done by next update
for her results! At this rate in theory Unali done Monday.
Z'leyra likely basic results by Friday. Her sheet takes a
couple days to edit. Arawn week of 23rd and Raban maybe late
the same week. Finish up the two new characters and in theory
we could start adventure 5 by April 1st. In theory. We all
know how those things go. I still need to actually design
the adventure from my basic outline...:< Gotta also figure out
the Sidh thing if Raban can learn the magic without Sidh
tongue. Can't recall the wording of the rules. But I'll
handle that for his IBT period.
