     [Recap]

        From Raban: [Re: Actions]
[Raban is fairly sure he cannot hurt the red streakers, but this
Gargoyle may control them. The Sword's spell is definitely a
problem, but one that can be overcome if the Gargoyle stays put
           a little longer...

<I don't think Raban has seen the Streakers changing form as they
are behind him. So original action is still fine for now.>
GM: Ack. Yes probably seen one out of corner of eye but not
when they go into physical form.

                -----------------------------------------

        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
Ben'Dar drops his pike and nocks and arrow to his bow. He'll
begin loosing arrows at the red creatures, while staying close
to Chion and Kiet. If one moves in close to attack him, he'll
switch to his fighting dagger, but otherwise he'll remain
stationary and keep up a barrage of arrows.
GM: Ack. I forgot about your belt. But I had recalled the number
rolled and redid the math. Even with belt it didn't help.
So the paralysis is still in effect. :<

                -----------------------------------------

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
As Z'leyra readies a max EL Dispel/Banish Chaos to cast at one
of the beasts thru her staff when it is in range she realizes
that she'd made a mistake in not casting her Orient Self spell
at a higher EL since that would have made subsequent spell
          casting faster.
        GM: Ack.

                -----------------------------------------

        From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn looks back and forth between the cat beasts and the
gargoyle. His spell seemed to have failed and things weren't
looking good. He hoped that things would resolve a bit more
peacefully but it looked like that wasn't going to happen unless
the creatures were planning on capturing rather than destroying,
appropriate to some degree considering their choice of actions
to date. Still, it wouldn't do to take the risk and be wrong.

Acknowledging the deadly threat posed by the cat-beasts he decided
that the Gargoyle King posed the bigger threat. With each person
paralyzed or slowed the easier the rest would be to pick off.
Hoping Raban could reach the king Arawn yelled,

"Z'leyra, spell didn't take! Raban, try to capture the leader!"

With that he reached out with a spell of his own, trying to twist
          the Gargoyle King's form...

OOC: Arawn will try to cast Transmutation at EL 2 (or higher if
it's needed for the spell to reach him) while using the Sidh
          Tongue to raise it.

          In the following phase;
If the spell succeeded Arawn will cast Armor on himself and move
to defend the fallen, if they are attacked by the cat-beasts. EL
with sword will be defensive - If the spell failed he will recast
it, unless fallen party members are in immediate danger in which
case he will cast Armor and move to defend them, as listed above.
GM: Ack. But didn't mention transmute into what? :<

     -----------------------------------------------------------------
     [New Stuff]

        [Ma 2nd, 1633TH. 5th Day of Adventure #4.
[Location: Chaos domain, Dark Lands, 9 Miles up]

        [Time: 9:38am]

[Z'leyra quickly begins to channel mana energy through her body
and into her staff as a focus. Still in her shamanic trance she
         prepares for a spell.]

[Ben'dar drops his pike with a wet plop to the ground. He quickly
draws his bow and grabs a arrow with his other hand. He then nocks
the bow and with some effort pulls back. The paralysis still seems
to weaken his movements a bit. As he does he glances at the tall
forms in the mist. He can't see features but the shadows and the
shape of the forms seems to be apparent. Both seem about the same
distance 50-55 feet away. Unali is to the east of Ben'dar so he
turns north with some effort and aims at beast #1, now in physical
form. He fires even though visibility is difficult in this area.
The shot goes high and hits the beast in the neck doing 4 points
of damage to it. Ben'dar hears a dull whine and figures he hit
but doesn't know if it was good thing to make the beast mad at
         this point in the battle.]

[Z'leyra points her Staff at Beast #2 and quickly speaks the words
of a high Dispel spell. But a second after the spell the beast's
form seems to still be there.]

[Corona dives through the windy clouds with a east not seen by
the gargoyles, as if used to flying on thermals. He dives toward
the second beast and fires a couple lances of fire from his eyes
at the beast. It hits in the left arm and sizzles a small hole
only doing 1 point of damage though.]

[Fremea twists like a soaring jet right in a spiral and then comes
up behind the female gargoyle. Still in visible she aims her body
toward the creature. Holding her dagger straight she goes for a
wild stab at the creature as she flies to the left of the creature.
At the last second a gust of wind moves her body lower from a neck
shot to a lower abdomen/back hit just under the left wing. The
dagger penetrates and does the quick final 2 points needed to
kill the creature. She falls without a whimper to the ground.]

[The Gargoyle King smirks if a creature of its kind can even do
such a thing, then thrusts his sword at Raban's right chest middle
section. The sword impales Raban through his now shredded armor
and skirts against 2 ribs but the damage is only 4 points. Minor
for Raban but serious for his armor.]

[The Firesnake continues to prod Caladan to see what is the matter
with his master. In a protective gesture it finally gives up
and curls around Caladan's neck in case he is needed to defend
         the downed Zen'dali wizard.]

[The beasts give a blood-curdling scream-howl that breaks the
quiet air. Then both charge forward toward their targets. One
charges for Ben'dar. The second one charges west toward the
general direction of Z'leyra and Unali. Both don't reach their
targets yet. Now closer their forms are humanoid with cat
heads and smeared with rotting, stinking slime.]

[Unali sees Raban grunt by something likely being hit by the King's
sword but from her angle can't tell. She feels the large giant
can handle the king even wounded. But if she leaves her position
the three would have a north-west corner of this impromptu defense
circle open. She pulls out her second dagger and prepares for
combat against one or both of the beasts if they come. When the
second beast charges she turns to prepare to defend herself. She
knows if she leaves toward the second beast she'd give up her
circle zone and make the circle weaker.]

GM: In this case I figure defense is better since didn't know her
            actions specfically.

[Arawn frowns at disappointment of his spell failure that might have
stopped this battle. He glances to the left and sees one beast
seemingly taller than Raban form into something about 50 feet away.
He hears Raban grunt to some damage and turns back and figures the
King and that magical sword is the biggest threat, not knowing the
ability of the beasts at this point. He considers his next move as
         he warns the others.]

Arawn: "Z'leyra, spell didn't take! Raban, try to capture the
          leader!"

[Z'leyra curses silently at the luck of her spell or maybe this
place. Maybe its overall magic is forcing her magic to drift from
success. Even with her staff, luck ring, spell level and high
magical ability she fails! Z'leyra rumbles to herself. She frowns
         knowing this could be bloody.]

[Raban grunts at the pain of the rib shattering thrust. He has
had worse but that was close to the heart. Arawn yells something
about capturing this beast? Raban grunts again at the thought.
First he has to hit him. With some effort he raises both hands
up and tries to grapple the beast. His arms goes forward as does
his body seemingly on its own. Raban's large forms dives toward
the creature and both gauntleted arms dive below the creature's
arms and under his wing bone struts. Raban seeing opportunity
completes the move he even wasn't planning. Instead of a simple
bash it turns into a bear hug. With massive pressure, even
weakened by his paralysis, the creature's breath escapes in a
puff. Eyes bulge in surprise by the King. Arms connect and hands
grasp fingers intertwined. Then Raban closes the gap, now
smelling the foul creature up close. The stink of blood, gore,
and hot sweaty leather in his nostrils. Raban hears bones, mostly
ribs, cracking under the pressure. Then a thought comes to Raban
and he does a leg sweep and trips the creature backward. The
King begins to fall with Raban in tow. With a loud thud the King
hits the ground and is immediately knocked out. Raban rolls to the
side and lands on his left wing also gasping for some air in his
weakened state (and the lack of good air up here). Raban turns
to see the creature's eyes closed and smiles. The magical sword
falls to the ground with a minor plop.]

                        --------------------------

[Z'leyra knows she has only one more chance to stop the beast coming
her way. She reforms new magical energy for another spell.]

[Arawn sees Raban and the King fall. He figures Raban has done
a good job and decides against his transmute spell. He changes
         to a Armor spell allocation.]

[Ben'dar knows the beast is faster, even with his paralyzed state.
Ben'dar could fire again at point blank or be able to use his
dagger to fight back. He rather defend himself so decides not to
         draw another arrow.]

[Z'leyra points her staff at Beast #2 and speaks the words again
to dispel the creature. With a sudden pop the creature simply
winks out of existence. Z'leyra smiles at the banished beast.
         One down, one to go.]

[Arawn casts his Armor spell quickly and a blue aura shines around
         his chest.]

GM: Since no EL assume EL0 as always. Also since not in ICQ
couldn't clarify this. Based on actions posted to defend
fallen I figure you'd want to defend Ben'dar is pretty much
            "fallen" in status?

[Corona flies over the group but decides against attack as the
         beasts are near friends.]

[Fremea sees the King fall to the ground and sees also Raban
fall wondering if he is hurt. She flies back toward the two
and lands a few feet away.]

[The Firesnake sees the cat beast approach and lurches up and begins
         to hiss a bit.]

[Beasts #1 finishes the run toward Ben'dar and swings both slimy
arms toward Ben'dar. At the same time his head tries to bite
Ben'dar but the head misses. The arms do not. They hit Ben'dar
in the upper left chest but his dragon armor protects against the
         strike completely.]

[Unali looks right and sees Beast #2 banished and smiles at Z'leyra.
Then runs west jumping over the form of Chion. She runs behind
the first beast and begins to back stab it. The magical dagger
fails to hit but the second normal dagger hits the beast in the back
center left area doing 4 points of damage past his tough hide.
If he was a normal human would've been more devastating area but
         being taller not as bad.]

[Arawn moves the 10 feet toward the Beast who is attacking Ben'dar.
He thrusts his sword at the creature's right side under his arm
and the Elven magical sword impales deep into the creature doing
20 points (8 of which is only needed to kill the beast). the
beast begins to fall. The beast falls to the right straight for
Arawn. Both collide and Arawn is knocked down under the slimy
         beast but takes no damage.]

[Z'leyra sees the beast fall on top of Arawn and rushes over to
help to try to lift the beast off.]

[Ben'dar doesn't draw his dagger since the beast falls and goes
with some effort to help Arawn.]

[Raban sits up on his elbows and looks to see the group heading
toward Arawn he thinks (hard to see in the mist). He glances
to see the King not moving and considers grabbing his sword
to use on the red things but doesn't see them.]

[Fremea quietly walks up to the King and kneels down. She
slits the creatures neck to finish the beast off.]

[Unali, Z'leyra, Arawn and Ben'dar help move the dead beast
off Arawn. Unali realizes the slime could be like that on
Clima and begins to use her water to wash it off Arawn in case
         it is acidic.]

[Raban gets to his feet and sees the King bleeding and not
breathing. He doesn't recall doing that neck wound but
shrugs and heads to help Arawn up with some effort.]

[Chion, Kiet and Caladan are checked but are unhurt just knocked
out, seemingly in a catatonic state.]

        Actions? Comments?

        Next update...Monday...

GM: Combat Time: 4 phases - 12 seconds faster than I expected for
the beasts. But got lucky - darn it! There is
                         always next time!

GM: Paralysis ends 21 seconds later for Raban and 3 seconds after
that for Ben'dar. Arawn's armor spell little but about 12
seconds and quickly ends. Fremea becomes visible within about
45 seconds after the end of combat.

        GM: Item Damage/Notes:

                Player Damage Notes
              Fremea -1 FV Dagger
              Ben'dar -1 Arrow
Raban -1 AV [pretty much useless now]

              Note:
              1) Congratulations - Fremea +1 EL in Invisibility
                 Also +1 to Dagger Skill!
              2) Congratulations - Arawn +1 Armor spell EL
              3) Congratulations - Unali +1 Dagger EL

GM: Crud, miscalculated. The Dispel spell would've taken 2 phases.
I was off one column. But due to time I don't have time to
rewrite it. I'll admit this mistake and just call it since the
dispel was planned 2 phases earlier and a high OS would've
increased the speed. For sake of this combat I'll let it slide.
Hope no one gets upset. Rather admit my error and fix it if I
            had time than not. :)

        GM: Player Status

                Raban 73% [Moderate]
                Caladan 84% [Light]
                Unali 93% [Light]

Note: All 3 of you haven't been healed today yet.

GM: I need to know what to do with the fallen three. Will likely
have to dispel the silent terror effect on all 3. Then
only Forgetfulness and Eye of Mystery are the only spells that
will cure the terror. Otherwise they'll be catatonic till
the next dawn. That means the party will be trapped up here
till dawn. Let me know the plan.

GM: King Sword - Raban is closest he could claim it. But if let
me know who wishes to take it as loot. First come first
serve as usual. Debate and haggling allowed as always.

GM: Assuming the trio can be awoken up then I'll move the party
on and forward unless plans are otherwise.
