     [Recap]

        From Ben'dar: [Re: Prisoner Chat]
          Conversation with Ser'manda:

          [After leader pleads for horses]

At this point, Ben'Dar takes a step forward, with a menacing
look on his face. He growls at the leader and says in Zen'Dan,
"No, it's not right. What would be right is for us to have
killed you where you fell asleep on the battlefield. Then
the wolves could eat all of you! You are a sniveling coward."
He spits on the ground at the leader's feet in utter disdain.
Glaring at the other surviving Ser'manda warriors, Ben'Dar
          adds,
"You all are. Now I see why you are outcasts. No respectable
Zen'Dan tribe would accept whining dogs such as you."

Ben'Dar stares at them each, one by one, expectantly, hoping
one will leap up to fight him. If one does, Ben'Dar will toss
him his weapon and the fight will be on! (Meaning Ben'Dar will
toss the Ser'Manda warrior's weapon to him so the Ser'Manda
warrior will not be at a disadvantage.)

(Ben'Dar is aware that he and Tef'wo are still covered with fresh
gore and blood from the slain Ser'Manda warriors. He hopes that
this will not deter any of the survivors from an act of honorable
          bravery now.)

(Ben'Dar thinks that if the Ser'Manda warriors wander back into
their tribe with half their number dead, whining about how they
just got beaten in battle and as a result let a group of
strangers continue across Ser'Manda lands with impunity it's
not going to earn them a whole lot of honor among their people.
The only way they can truly regain their honor (in Ben'Dar's
way of thinking anyway) is to either triumph in battle or die
honorably while trying. And while he has feelings of anger
and violence toward them because they attacked him and his
friends, he does recognize that they are fellow Zen'Dan
warriors and he wishes that they will have honor as all
           Zen'Da strive to.)

If none rises to the unspoken challenge, Ben'Dar snorts,
"That's what I thought." Turning on his heel, he will stalk
away from the prisoners and have nothing more to do with them.

While he doesn't like the idea of giving them any of their
horses back (in Ben'Dar's opinion, taking care of their dead
and getting back to their tribe is their problem, not the
party's), he will not oppose Caladan's decision. This is
Caladan's quest and the Ser'manda are his neighbors, after all.

(OOC: Sorry, I had to inject some barbarian belligerence there

Just ignore all this if it will create a big headache for you,
GM. I don't want to disrupt the game flow too much.)
GM: Good actions/role playing. It fits in. They would all get
angry, red-faced. But being tied down they can't do much.
They however aren't stupid enough. They are almost 4 to 1 odds
even a fool wouldn't fight those odds.

        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
At the river - No big changes to Ben'Dar's plan:

Continue out into the river on Tef'wo, get to Farseeker as
quickly as possible, position Ben'Dar/Tef'wo in between
Farseeker and his attacker, kick or skewer the attacker to
make him back-off away from Farseeker. Grab Farseeker by
the hand and have Tef'wo run out of the river, Ben'Dar
          dragging Farseeker along.

While doing this, Ben'Dar will yell to Farseeker to let him
know he's there and to let him know to grab on to be pulled
          out. Something like,
"Farseeker, hold on! I'll pull you out of here!"

If it is impossible to pull Farseeker out, Ben'Dar will just
attack Farseeker's attacker(s), skewering with his spear and
letting Tef'wo kick the crap out of whatever enemy is in the
water. But his highest priority is getting to Farseeker and
pulling him out of danger as quickly as possible.

(OOC to the party- If one of the wizards in the group has a
good light spell. I have a feeling that fighting these slimy
water guys is going to be real tricky without more light.)

(OOC again: Still working on getting telephone to my house.
My home email should be up and running within a week or so
           (fingers crossed).)

Just had a thought-if it's easier for Farseeker to grab the
haft of Ben'Dar's spear instead of Ben'Dar's hand he'll reach
that down to Farseeker instead. Yeah, that would make a little
more sense, since Ben'Dar's got a long sturdy spear on hand!
        GM: Ack.

        From Chion: [Re: Actions]
If/when Chion can get ahold of Farseeker he will cast
waterbreathing (freshwater from water powers list) on himself
(while holding Farseeker) and hold his breath unless he goes
under. That will allow Farseeker to breath freshwater. If he
cannot get ahold of him he will try to kill the nearest attacker
          instead.
        GM: Ack

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
When Z'leyra reaches the edge of the water she will loudly
beseech in the Tongue of the Sidh "Please release my friend,
he did not know he had to ask permission. We apologize for his
use of the water without first getting your permission."
        GM: Ack.

        From Jordi: [Re: Actions]
As Jordi reaches the water (OOC: Almost at the same time as
Z'leyra), and he realizes the situation, he inmediately turns
to the companions, and begins to yell:
"Don't attack it! Don't attack it! It's not an enemy, and can
           be convinced to release Farseeker!"
(OOC: I imagine it's enough for two phases).
If we have more time, Jordi will try to convince the creature to
          release Farseeker without harm.
        GM: Ack.

    [New Stuff]

Sepes 36, in the 163rd Year [TH]
Location: River Sch (E) Riverbank, Zen'da Plains, 198 Miles
North of Asichi City - [Around 5:30am -

        Turn 2: Phase 2

[Chion and Thig allocates mana for a spell]

[Thig casts a spell and flies over the water.]
[Chion casts water breathing on Farseeker.]

[Ben'dar maneuvers his horse toward the flailing activity
in the water. He heard Caladan yell out something
but wasn't sure what he meant being too much in hard
concentration. He bends down slightly on the horse to
the left. He whips his spear around to probe the water
as he tries to get Farseeker's attention. Just then
a flicker from the nearby torch lights the water up just
enough to reflect. Ben'dar sees Farseeker and 2 others
around him. Ben'dar can see forms but can't see much
of them. Ben'dar dives the spear down toward Farseeker
so he can grab it but just as farseeker reaches out he
           is pulled under the water..]

[Caladan dismounts and tells the others]
Caladan: "Don't enter the water. Your safe here."

[Xian stays walks toward the others..with his torch..]

[Z'leyra runs up and meets the others. She then yells
           out toward the water...]

[Jordi also yells out to the party not to attack them.]

[A odd noise is heard under the water like a squeal or
bark? Then suddenly the flailing in the water stops.]

        Turn 2: Phase 3

[Ben'dar reaches down and grabs Farseeker with a hand
just as chion also does the same.]

[Chion helps Farseeker up and onto the horse hanging
over. Farseeker is not moving....Chion then turns
           to watch the water...]

[Seconds pass....Ben'dar gets Farseeker out of the water
and back on the ground with help of others. Z'leyra
inspects him. Thig states theres 6 of them he has found
with a mind spell. Caladan stands and eyes the water
as chion exits the water slowly...]

[Suddenly a tall elven women raises up and above the water
from waist up. She has grass, weeds and reeds all
over her body. Caladan stares at her for a minute. Then
before Z'leyra, Jordi or Thig can say anything to them
she dives back under the water.]

        [Caladan turns to the group...]
Caladan: "Asrai. I've heard of them in the river but
never encountered them before. I saw floating reeds
move too quickly against the current. It had to be
them or something else. I then saw the skin ..rather
the head of one in the water. It confirmed it. I've
heard they have taken children and small animals inot
the water. The elders say they only wish to be left
alone. They don't wish to attack unless they have to.
We must be near one of their lairs. We should back away
from the area. At least from the water. They won't
exit the water so our camp is safe."

[Meanwhile Z'leyra inspects Farseeker and finds a small
chest wound. but right now Farseeker isn't breathing
at all. Its clear he may have drowned. Xian comes up
         and helps Z'leyra]
Xian: "Damon has shown me how to help drowned victims."

[Xian with help lifts the body of Farseeker over onto
his stomach. Then with help lifts farseeker up onto
his knee where the lower stomach area is on the knee
and the other ends (legs/head) hang down. With the
other knee on the ground Xian pushes down and this
creates the body to convulse forward in one big motion.
A few seconds later water spurts out the mouth and seems
to empty the lungs. Xian with help again lowers the
body down this time on his back. He turns to Z'leyra
and moves away so she can help him further. Z'leyra
finds only a light pulse and light breathing but it seems
to be fading? Theres no time for Healer skill so she
decides on a quick healing spell. She lays hands down
and states the words. Farseeker's stomach wound starts
and then completely heals. Z'leyra checks the pulse again
and it starts to strengthen. She nods that hes getting
         better.]

[With help Farseker is carried by horse back to the camp
where he soon wakes up and wonders what has happened.
Its explained. Its explained the camp is safe as they
won't exit the water for fear of death. After about 20
minutes the camp settles back down while Farseeker rests.
Its learned that he still has a scar on his stomach. Thig
explains the asrai likely have touched him and no healing
can heal him. Only a regeneration spell will do. Thig
explains in the morning he'll cast such a spell to help
         Farseeker.]

     Actions? Comments?
     Next update Monday...

Ok. I know. A bit late with update. Heres schedule of
     events. Tomorrow/Sunday I'll type a supplemental update.
We'll move the party on toward the next few encounters.
Then monday I'll have a action needed update for that
encounter. One of those hetic weeks.
