Fremea watches the others debate about casting spells. After
Z asks, she looks with her senses and knows that this is a very purified
place that could also have wards and other potentially bad effects on
spells not aligned with its purpose. "I don't recommend casting here
at all, but do as you wish." She then notices others saying good bye
to Barbosa, she just catches his eye and nods to him, wishing him good
journeys. She did get used to his stink, and it will be good to not have
to deal with it anymore.

She will gladly leave to get back home, as her family must
be wondering why she has gone so long again.

"Alright then! Except for Z’leyra and Raddok,
once we open the portal, everyone else thru the portal as fast as you can
manage. Back to Marentia." Dorhak is eager to return.

He looks over at Kimis and Upus and says, "You two are
going to be hard to explain. I highly recommend you be
exceptionally careful once we go thru. None of us know how you will be
received at our home. I understand you not wanting to go to your lands,
more than you might think. But this is a one-way trip. I doubt
you’ll be able to change your minds. "

Kimis looks at Upus after hearing a translation, “I never
considered that. I saw what the dwarves thought of us at the Kril.
The humans may not appreciate us. “ She looks more sad.

Kiet considers this. Fremea still hears the demon yell
but with Kaylle in the city some are getting more used to the fae.
Maybe the Diumagi could wear cloaks and hoods? Maybe some illusion
magic could be used or disguises?

Kiet thinks about what's going on, then realizes he does
have an extra resource available.

In The Elder, he asks, "Windwall! Quickly
please. Is there anything you can tell me about this place?
Is there anything you can do to help us all safely get through the
portal?"

The armor does a subtle laugh in Kiet's mind. Then speaks to
his mind, “watch that first step it is a doozy as the humans say
it. As to this place....there were rumors. Of
Sidh strongholds during the war. Doesn't that presence here
understand the war has been over for eons? During the wars before
man was uplifted the Sidh and alliance forces moved great armies from
place to place. Since the gods could not predict this that was a
major blow against them. To the Sidh of this era the gods were the
enemies. At least many of them not all. As to your worry on
entering the portals. The time lost is not a ...how do you humans
say it. Not a big haggle? No. Not a big deal. Based on short
time here at most a half year is lost? We did spend a month on that
smelly ship so what's 3-4 months? My old masters have been in many
shops. I vaguely recall there are 3 or 4 items that could deter the
age affects. Bezoar, Jade and Pearl. I seem to recall blood
from a beast can as well. IF there are magic I am no expert.
I'm sure there are magic spells that can help.”

After that, Kiet will announce any results. Then say,
"Will it help to have a volunteer go through the portal first?
If so, I would be willing."

"Okay, no spells. Let's go!" Says Z'leyra as she
heads for the gate.

"Let's go indeed." Unali pipes up. "Marentia,
here we come." and she turns dials again to show their destination
one last time to show the King.

Upus says, “if I have to go to my home land I'll be dead and
tortured first. I spent a lot of my childhood afraid. I escaped to get a
better life.”
He looks to Kimis and says, “what do you want to do ?”

Kimis grins and nods to the strange glowing circle, “where
you go I go.”

When Z'leyra says no spells & starts forward, Raddok
grins & follows her toward the portal, giving a brief wave &
smile back to Barbosa & the Bes.

The portal shows a heavy forested area but there are no
signs of life other than a bird or two. The portal then shifts to
Marentia again and the park. King holds the portal using the crystal
Unali suggested.

“God speed and safety.” The Bes King says.

The party seems hesitant to be the first to pass
through. Several tense moments pass and finally Kiet shrugs and
steps through. He moves out of sight. The portal is showing that
park of heavy greens of healthy lawn. Trees are seen on left and
right some distance away. The sky is full of puffy white clouds and
the sun seems to show afternoon.

Arawn glances back to where the portal was which is another
area of trees to the south. What did the Avatar sense He
wanted to stay to find out but was also feeling the urge to leave as he
felt he mgiht've been trapped or worse if left behind.

Those who got bits and pieces wonder if that was the inkwell the Avatar
was talking about?

The party was in the lower world for just 27 hours.
But that could be a lot longer in the middle world. It is assumed 1
lower world day is 100 middle days. But scholars have debates that
time variations exist. A area here could be only 10 days but
another LW area could be 300 days. So if the eggeheads are correct
it could be 110-120 days.

Arawn looks the same with no real change. His pearl
torc helped him to have less affects from the time.

Dorhak also looks the same but it seems a small clump of
more hair on his messy beard. His stomach groans not so much for
food but for ale. This causes a massive gas relief and those standing
behind him become victims.

Fremea looks the same though her body aches slightly as if
flying for weeks on.
<x-tab> </x-tab>
Kiet looks the same with no change other than slight stubble
on his cheeks. After speaking to his armor he dug into his bag to
pull out a necklace to protect him.

Pyan is the first to show signs of time past. A beard
seems to pop up in seconds. His hair is much longer maybe a inch
and his nails seem to be a bit longer.

Raddok is showing signs like that of Pyan with the hair,
beard and nails. Upon hearing Kiet about the jade he eagerly looks in his
pouch to find a bracelet from loot found. But the party confirms
the jade has no magical value as its too small. So did not protect
him.

Tsia shows sign of longer hair and slight change in finger
nails. But she also seems to twitch a bit and shake. As if a
inner fight is going on but she bites her lip and seem sot get it under
control.

Unali hearing Kiet's report reaches into a pouch for a
bracelet and that helps to protect her from the effects. So there
is little visible effects of age.

Opus and Kimis both seem to show visible effects of the
age. Hair for Opus grows a bit more than usual maybe a inch while
Kimis maybe a half inch. Opus does not show a full beard as Pyan
but more signs of a mustache? Maybe they grow hair different than
humans.

But Opus and Kimis do feel their wounds suddenly disappear
and close up fully healed.

Z'leyra is still disgusted losing her bag from the Shifter
Fake Kiet kicking it in the fire. She has gear like cages and
pouches for the items but sadly has no material sot help her from the age
effects. So her hair also seems to grow a inch or so longer.

Everyone is feeling a feeling of hunger and thirst.
But there does not seem to be any biological effects from the time shift
than that.

The day is warm maybe in the 80s with the sun probably
around 2 or 3 pm? As the party stepped out of the portal which was facing
west the north is to the party's right. There the open field shows
a statue Unali spoke of about half a lie away. There are no other
people here at the park at least that the party can see. Now the party
faces west toward the small grove of trees. To the east or rear is
the same style of light forest/woods. A light breeze picks up the
scene of fresh grass and the sound of birds.

Finally back home for most but how long has it been?

Just as another exchange of gas seems to escape Dorhak he
starts to growl at his hunger but is stopped.

A voice rings out, “about time you show up!” It seems
to echo in the area and hard to track. A form of clipped
Marentian. “Been waiting 2 days! Did you guys panic and wait?
Whatever. So let's get this over with.”

To the west in front of the party a man in a blue tunic and
tan pants appears. “Wow. Who are those ...what are those....”
The black haired man his 20s seems to stare probably at the
Diumagi. “Whatever. Let's not panic here. Remain in
place.”
<x-tab> </x-tab>
“Before you use magic or some arcane skills look on the
ground there about 20 feet from you. I'll wait.”
<x-tab> </x-tab>
The party looks and spots a gray plate about a child’s' tin
eating plate on the ground. “Now look to left, right and behind go ahead
I'll allow it but no
magic please.”
<x-tab> </x-tab>
The party sees about 15 feet away to the sides is a very
hard to spot object of white color. It looks like a cube. “Don't
try to sense them. It will back fire. We were prepared.
If we detect doing so things will go badly. Let me demonstrate.”
<x-tab> </x-tab>
The man reaches to his left and pulls a woman to his side
and in front of him. She is gagged and waring a blue dress of middle
class style. Her hands are bound and he holds a dagger to her
throat. “Sure you could probably teleport to me or teleport me away
but not before I kill her. So hear me out.”

“You small ugly one...yes you. Raise your
shield. Above your head. C'mon we don't have time to waste.”
HE presses dagger into her neck and she begins
to sob.

Dorhak raises his shield sky face up.

“Count to 3.”

Two. Suddenly a arrow is seen zooming toward the
party.

Three. The arrow seems to go straight for Dorhak but
curves up then a wide arc an down and impacts into Dorhaks' shield.
Dorhak lowers his shield and yanks the arrow out.

“The small winged ...thing may recognize that as a guided
arrow. I have enough friends in the woods that could kill you twice
over all of you before you flinch. So let's be civil here. Do
I have your attention now?”
<x-tab> </x-tab>
Fremea frowns and stars to ever so slightly read the
object cube to her right. It begins to glow purple and she stops.
<x-tab> </x-tab>
The voice continues, “that was expected. You had to be
heroic! So we'll keep that as first and only warning. I will
let this fine lady ...baker...mother to 3 and caretaker to a old mother
free unharmed if you just do one tiny favor for me.”

Blue tunic man watches as several in party white knuckle
weapons. “He didn't want you killed yet. So this is all I
ask. You obtained items from your small vacation. It is clear
that our friends failed to obtain those items. Place the object
that looks like a ink well and the journal that was encrypted on that
plate. I will come forward and free her once I leave the cover of this
wood. She will run to you safe. My archer friends will stand
down. All you need to do is place those 2 items on the plate and
step back to your current position. That's it! Easy huh? We
will leave and you can go pig out at a tavern. What do you say?”

Unali knows where those items are and so does Arawn.
She glances at Arawn to see his reaction. Arawn did read the book
as best he could and tried to memorize some of it. But should they
risk a innocent woman for the book?

Granted its not the hurricane book but seems to be more
important than figured and so the Avatar in the cave seemed to
determine.

The tin plate is about 30 feet away. The tree line is
about 60 feet behind and 40-50 feet in front. To south it is about
80 feet away.

The man shrugs, “I know what guarantee do you have I’ll let
her go. My word as a gentleman? A show of good faith?” The
dagger slips down and cuts her rope hand bindings and her arms dangle
free. Then the dagger goes back to her neck. “This is a
simple trade. This does not have to go to blood shed.”

Dorhak knows technically his rule as leader ends once back
in Marentia. But he could do one last order for the road?

The Final Scene. Planned what 2 years ago? A good place to
stop. Votes are over. I will announce results next update. If
items are put on plate I’ll do update Saturday. If not then maybe
Tuesday. Depends on if have time. Tue/Wed will be busy with
taxes and a couple other things. So if not tue/wed maybe week from
