Pyan had at times scouting ahead using his skills as a
hunter to avoid normal forest creatures and not to get the Vily back
annoyed at them.

That night before they venture onto the plains to the north
forest mountains he spots something special in the dim light as he
collects fire wood.

Pyan stops at a plant and gets very excited. He shouts out
"A J?d? d? paud?" in his native tongue. He recognizes the
legendary plant from his peoples mythology.

He explains it great spiritual significances and magical
powers. He harvests the plant with the proper rituals to ensure it keeps
it's mystic properties. thou he doesn't have the skill needed to prepare
it for use. he asked Arawn and Z'leyra if they have the skills and will
enthusiastically tell them in great detail about it if they don't seem to
have heard about it even if they try to avoid his advice about the
alleged magical plant. He will insist that is truly if a J?d? d? paud? no
matter how much anyone tries to convince him he has mis identified the
plant or it's magic powers.

Arawn cautions the hunter to be careful as he studies the
plant. He has the skills and tools but harvesting has its own
methods for each plant.

Fremea turns her attention to the last giant not aware
Unali is on his back. She fires her single arrow which magically
duplicates into 6 more. Three arrows miss. Three hit but
bounce off his tough skin. One arrow hits in upper left chest doing
10 points of damage.

Pyan fires his bow at the giant and hits in the lower left
leg doing 6 points of damage.

Arawn selects one of his special arrows and fires his bow at
the giant but it bounces off his tough skin.

Kiet is not happy about the ring not activating. He
decides he must try the other one, though. Unali could be out of
her league alone out there. He decides to aim at the lower torso of
the giant, hoping to keep Unali as much out of the line of fire as
possible. Kiet also decides to move toward Dorhak and Raddok.

The ring on his other hand does nothing again! Rather
it does seem to activate he can see a spark flare up but it seems to be
negated or resisted by the giant.

Raddok is surprised that his ring doesn't fire. He doesn't
see a beam from Kiet's, either. Did the ring use its power or not?
Does he have 1 shot remaining or still have the 2? What happened? He's
very concerned & decides to hold his fire for the moment, hunkering
behind a tree with Dorhak, until the giant in the log-walled fort's
entrance is close enough to try to smash the giant's toes, Achilles
tendon or another foolish (to him) attack that may or may not get him
killed.

At least he wouldn't be alone & something helpful might
yet give him a better chance at actually hitting the creature. He missed
out on the last fight, since it resolved before any melee came his way,
so he would like to get in a few good hits, if he can avoid both the tree
trunks the giant is wielding, and any kicks the monster might make.

But he's still too far away to try anything, unless he wants
to risk using the ring again - & he's gonna wait to see if any fire
beam from a ring works before he tries his own ring again.

So Raddok waits and lowers his hand.

Unali deftly grabs the animal hide of the giant and reaches
the shoulder of the giant. She reaches up and over to try to
straddle the collarbone. But she reaches for what is the loose
string and fumbles trying to stab the giant's neck. Oddly enough her
magical dagger gives her clairvoyance warning to realize she will fumble
but not enough warning to prevent it. Instead of preventing it she
slips forward and over the side of the giant. Sliding down the
front of the giant. She stabs the giants to stop her descent as she
slides inside the front animal hide shirt. Her left dagger stabs
into his chest doing 1 point but enough to stop her descent. With
her right hand, dagger in palm, she grabs the loose string. She
stops a few inches more and sees the end of the string is indeed a
necklace. In the dim light of the awful smelling animal hide she
sees a round object that looks like a talisman. Giants are too dumb
to use such. She realizes this must've been collected and
used. Maybe its some protection even the giant doesn't understand
or just a 'shiny object' to wear. God this giant smells!

The giant drops his tree trunk in his left hand used to bash
his back and reaches toward his front. He grabs the necklace and
yanks. The full strength of the giant pulls Unali upwards with
it. As the giant pultls necklace, talisman and Unali out he grabs
her and tosses her to the right like a rag doll. She lands 12 feet
on the ground but her dagger warns her of the danger and she flips in mid
air and lands and rolls onto the ground. She amazingly takes no
damage because of her tough chainmail as she rolls onto the forest ground
from the 8 foot fall.

As the giant is doing this he charges and lifts the tree
trunk with his right hand. He sees Kimis as she peers over a bush
and he swings on her. The giant hits with his large tree limb
square into her upper right chest doing 6 points.

Z'leyra belts her sling and grabs her great sword rushing
toward the giant with her speed boosted boots. She tries to get in
front of the giant but a large bush is there and so can only get to his
left. She swings at the giant but fails to hit him.

Pyan shoulders bow and grabs his spear the time for missile
weapons are over.

Fremea frowns the giant is near others so firing on him is
harder. But she flies out and toward his back and fires on his back maybe
if she fires over the height about 10 feet up and higher she'll miss
folks. Maybe.

Upus sees Kimis attacked and sees her not seriously hurt.
Angry he rushes around the bush coming to the right rear and swings his
battle axe at the giant's lower leg. He hits but the tough hide
blocks his damage. The last one hits deep doing 16 points in his
back.

Dorhak sees the success in dealing with one giant, even if
temporarily. Still have to determine that. But this second giant
has already gotten clubs in hand. "Hold! range weapons
only!" he doesn’t waste time trying to tell everyone not to hit
Unali.

At least that is what he had planned to say. So fast
how things change. Now he sees Unali appear from his back and be thrown
off and it charge a group. The idea of missile weapons is over. It
will be too close.

Dorhak sighed and draws his weapon and charges toward to
help Z'leyra. He swings and hits doing 14 points to his left leg. Three
arrows miss. Two bounce off. One hits doing 4 points to his
back.

Kiet is right in front of the giant. He activates his
Jump spell and leaps up and swings his tulwar at the giant's neck
hitting! But he does not break skin as he lands back on the ground.

Unali shakes off the shock and daze and stands and charges
the giant. She swings both daggers at the right leg with one
missing and one doing 10 points.

The giant roars in rage and swings his tree to sweep away
the pesky humans around him and instead of humans – the tree limb goes
flying out of his hand 30 feet crashing into t a tree as it slips from
his hands in a fumble.

The giant in a rage kicks out toward Z'leyra and hits her in
the chest with his foot but she is only knocked back a couple feet taking
no damage from the blow due to her chainmail.

Pyan tries to get in a position but the group is in the
way.

Z'leyra's breath is knocked out and she tries to gasp
knowing her luck was in place. She prepares to fire her helmet dart
as soon as she can.

Upus swings on the giants ankle hitting with battle axe
doing 12 points. The giant begins to sway hurt from the damage.

Raddok moves to help the others.

Fremea fires more arrows and the final hit point is done to
kill the giant. It falls between Kiet and Kimis. Kimis takes
a left arm to her back and is knocked down but not hurt more so.

Kimis is helped up and the party notices she is the only one
hurt but mildly. Weapons and sheathed and cleaned as they ensure the
giants are dead. Unali goes to find the necklace and discovers it
broken. Arawn notices the talisman is damaged and seems to have
some protection magic which is probably why the rings failed?

The King notices the talisman and sighs. “A Bes
item! Probably made in ancient times and from that cave. That
means I hope we find our escape from this world undamaged. These
markings show Bes artistry with a touch of Elven runes.”

The party moves into the fort as Kiet warns of the tumble
spell to move far to the side and around. The group ponders how to
get the large trees away from the threshold. Each tree is maybe
200-400 pounds or more. They can be toppled easily but dragging
them away from entrance will be tricky.

The King speaks to Dorhak, “once we enter we may want to
leave a guard at entrance maybe my guard and that Red fella?”

added the Pyan thing on plant now that I understand the context from
Discord. I also included the ZL sling retro as I did not do that.
All in all a good fight for party sigh the giants got no good licks in!
Upus I keep saying Opus I'm sorry! Fixed now. Rushed
experience below should be all. I work longer Saturday so I can
work on update Wednesday or Friday depending on what you do now.
Once you enter the cave. You will see 2 Fumbles. Unali's
acrobatic attempt (thus the slide) and Giant tossing tree away.
