         Game Update #18 sequence (file #103)

         Admin: A small numbering error.  In my 
master file file this should be #17  so I must've 
added 1 too many #1.  So in my master file #15 
will be #15+16.  So last was 17 and this will be indeed 18.

            From Rocky: [Re: Actions]
                 Rocky keeps slinging at trolls 
that are dangerous...and will switch to shield and sword if any get close.
            GM: Ack.

            From Varo: [Re: Actions]
                 [ooc: Movement & actions stated 
here may take more than one turn, depending on 
movement & action speed. What happens during this 
update will determine if she changes her plans or 
not. There seems to be several options, but Varo 
follows her plans as outlined here as far as she can.]

                 Varo is very concerned at seeing more trolls coming from the 


  If Varo can see what might be a body (C) 
directly north of her, she will run to see if 
it's alive, praying to Ernalda under her breath 
for the entire run that she is able to stay 
hidden & safe, so that she’s able to help. She 
then turns & fires her self-bow from the point 
that she’s has now reached (the fallen figure, 
if she can move that far) & fire her bow at Troll 
#1 (@ T16), then try to advance to the window on 
the south side of the cabin so she can try to see 
the child within & the little one’s status.

  She will follow as far as she can on this path 
north to the possible body (C), & as soon as she 
finds out if it is dead or alive & if alive & 
human &/or troll’s victim she will cast a 
Healing Spell on that one before leaving toward 
the southern window (although she will fire at 
the troll before she heads that way). If it turns 
out to be a troll & alive, she will shoot it 
point blank, since her bow is ready, then pull 
another arrow out to use on troll #1.

  However, if she cannot reach the 'body' on this 
turn, she will turn fire one arrow at the troll 
(#1) & then continue north to find if it is a body.

                 [If the DM determines she cannot 
see the body (but I believe she can see it), she 
will move north slightly & then fire at the troll 
& run to the southern window, crouching down to 
sneakingly, cautiously peek inside.]
            GM: Ack. Yeah Humans move 8 m per 
turn which seems slow to me in RQ combat.  If you 
move 3 m per or more +1 Strike Rank.  So will 
make you move later in line up. That's how 
movement affects turn.  You can see body.  Its 
definitely not troll.  Issue its in open so not 
around bushes or trees.  Crossing back west to 
the cabin may be harder as the trolls might block 
you to window.  BTW those new trolls came from 
north side of cabin outside not from actual 
cabin.  Door has not actually opened yet.  To 
clarify both points. ;) At 8 m per turn that's only 2.5 hexes.

            From Juno: [Re: Actions[
                 Juno casts  MULTIMISSILE(1) on 
his bow he fires to the closest troll threat.

                 In his military training 
school, the Seargent would say, "Save 


                 If we advance then he cast  
MULTIMISSILE(1) on his javelin and fires one to 
the closest troll threat. Once melee and we 
charge he draws and will use his spear and shield for this close combat.
            GM: Ack.

            From Mournath: [Re: Actions]
                 As long as Mournath's sniper 
position is secure, he'll keep firing from the 
tree. If the tree is approached, he'll drop to 
the ground at the last possible instance and draw 
his sword, casting Boladesharp to prepart.
            GM: Ack.

            From Varo: [Re: Actions]
                 If Varo finds the 'body' on the 
ground is a troll & she fires an arrow into it, 
she will follow with a javelin thrust. She will 
use the rapier if she enters a melee situation, 
but hopes to be able to stay with her self-bow otherwise.
            GM: Ack.

            From Varo: [Re: Actions]
                 Varo, before moving north, will 
indicate with her hands pointing to herself then 
pointing north, & ducking to a crouch before moving.
            GM: Ack. I figured.  :)

         [New Stuff]

         [Windsday, Fertility week, Storm Season, 1625, Genertela, Glorantha]

         [Time: 10:10 am]

         [Round 3]

            Rocky pulls another sling bullet into 
his sling and aims.  Too far to fire at those 
around cabin so only has 2 targets.  The Garden 
troll or the one with the disabled leg. He aims 
at that disabled troll and hits in the left arm 
and even with his tough arm armor does 1 point of damage.

            Klorgar fires his bow at Troll #2 
“garden troll” hits him in the left leg again 
already hurt there and the troll collapses and does not move.

            Jaren glances at Varek who 
nods.  Jaren then raises his weapon, “lets go! 
Charge!” Then moves north to the cabin leaving cover of the forest.

            Juno sees Jaren break from the forest 
but casts his spell on his bow.  He can still fire from cover.

            In his military training school, the 
Sargent would say, "Save the best for 
last."  Juno thinks perhaps we kill all the 
outliers then save the last attack for the one at 
the door or the others inside since that seems to 
be the crisis center for this hostage crisis?" He 
uses his hand to motion to all the players in the 
group and puts his two fingers up to his eyes and 
points to the door and shrugs his shoulders and arms awaiting what to do next.

            Razgar sees garden troll fall and 
turns to face others but sees only the disabled 
troll (#2).  The other trolls around side of 
cabin not seen yet.  He fires and the arrow misses the troll.

            Mournath sees Jaren break free 
insanely moving to the cabin and figures the old 
man Varek ordered it.  So he climbs down and moves to edge of tree line.

            Varo is very concerned at seeing more 
trolls coming from the cabin. “Ernalda, I pray 
you keep that child safe until we can reach her!” 
she says, and looks quickly around to see if any 
more trolls coming from the woods to her east.

            Varo moves east/NE toward the body 
she spots and fires at Troll #1 who is disabled. 
She gets a critical hit even while moving (great 
shot) hitting him in the already badly damaged 
right leg and the troll slumps back likely dead.

            Rocky sees no one else in range and 
belts his sling and pulls his shield and other 
sword.  He stands and moves past the edge of trees to help support Jaren.

            Klorgar swings west hearing noise and 
raises is bow only to see Mournath climb down 
from a tree.  There he is!  Klorgar turns back 
and moves north toward the dead troll to check him out.

            Three of the trolls that came around 
corner of the cabin from the north side move 
south.  The door guard stays in place.

            Mournath smiles at Klorgar and also moves north.

            Razgar moves north as well to help the others.

            Varek remains in the trees to “guide” yes to guide the others.

         [Round 4]

            Varo moves closer to the body and 
does a wild shot at the door guard troll but misses.

            Juno fires his two arrows at the door guard troll as well.

            Rest of party move northward. Except Varek who leads by cover.

            The 3 trolls continue moving south 
with shields in hand (2 holding shield 3rd in 
middle covered by buddy's shields.

            Varo reaches the body and discovers 
it is a Elf.  Based on his ears and skin 
color.  He has been badly beat probably by the troll clubs and is indeed dead.

            Suddenly Varo hears a twig behind her 
and sees the boy behind a bush.  “No.  Is that Zusk? He must've tried to help.”

            Juno fires again but the door guard 
is covered by his pals so he fires at the trolls 
holding shields.  But both missis go high and he misses on both arrows.

         GM: Actions? Comments?

             Next Update...Monday?


         GM: A semi quick round 4.  Did not list 
everything as getting late (10pm) so wanted to 
get this out.  I took some liberty for unit 
cohesion to move folks forward north.  If you 
prefer to remain in previous spot behind forest 
edge say so. Also will assume still holding 
missile weapons as you move forward.  If you 
switch to melee let me know.  I figure if enemy 
is in melee range 1 round ahead then I’d switch 
to melee weapons.  Keep in mind trolls move half 
as slow as you guys so about 13-14 feet (1 
hexing) per round.  You guys about 2.5 hexes per 
round.  This assumes full movement.  There is no 
indication the trolls have any missile 
weapons.  But their large kite shields are good 
cover.  I will assume you may switch weapons if 
not fired missile that last round 4.  If you do 
that's a free switch so say so now. If you keep 
bow and switch round 5+6 that's +5 to strike 
rank.  Per 3 m of movement that's +1.  So 
switching and full run would be a +7 to any other 
SRs so just keep in mind as you plan actions.  If 
don't understand let me know.

         GM: Klargar – Assume still holding 
bow.  You are about 1 round to the water 
basin/trough for horses (like a bathing 
trough).  Could use that as slight cover but its 
only about 4 feet high.  Could move on to the 
south wall (no windows just fireplace on that 
wall) then fire as trolls pass SE corner.  Let me know.

          Varo – Body is definitely beat 
up.  Skull based in and chest caved in half on 
left side.  Not much to heal.  You are 
technically in open no trees the boy is about 8 
or so feet behind you in cover of a bush.  Your 
about 60 feet from SE corner and the 3 trolls.

         Razgar – Near Klargar about 32-35 feet 
form south wall.  You got same options as Klargar?

            Rocky – about 70 or so feet south of 
water well.  So about that far from the 3 trolls 
at SE corner.  Assume can do a couple more slings 
before melee but depends on where I roll 
direction for trolls to go.  Assume Arbalest left 
in bushes and you are in the open now.

         Juno – next to Jaren.  So about 5 north 
of Rocky for same options.  You can continue the 
bow and 1 round out throw javelin will assume 
that.  Keep in mind the movement math and such.




         GM: 130 Miles out – personal note for me.
