GM: Ack. Like how a simple
interaction like this is role playing. Keep it up and hope others do it.

in learning Dwarf Elder she probably would have

         [New Stuff]

         [Ma 7th, 1636TH]
         [Time: 1:10 am]

Kiet is happy to help the Captain
heal up. He seems to be a decent sort.

            He thinks about this ridiculously
huge giant. Gads, what treasure could he
have? But how would you find it? It could be
anywhere. And you certainly couldn’t teleport to it without a reference.

Kiet wonder what the others think about that...

Arawn collects hairs from the storm
giant for later use. He then checks any pockets
but finds noting but lint and the above average
great sword already mentioned.

Arawn stares at the giant and murmurs
about finding the lair. It would be easy but
getting there exactly would be tricky. Unali
hears Arawn's murmurs and comments.

"The last Storm Giant I encountered
had a large floating castle in the sky where he
lived lavishly. But it was well guarded by all
kinds of creatures. I remember at the time we had
a good fight in the courtyard. That has been
years ago. How time flies." Unali finishes
cleaning her dagger on the giant's pants leg.

                 ----------------

         [Ma 8th, 1636TH]
[Time: 12:40 pm – Kril Bes – Capital of Besam]
         [Before Dorhak heads further in]

            When Arawn overheard the besamar
compliment the presence of the Sidh among the
party the alfar smiled, his eyes twinkling when
their eyes met. Waiting until after Dorhak had
left he made pleasant with any besamar willing to speak to the party.

Between rounds of banter he asked,
"I've heard of the besamar but have never had the
pleasure of your people's hospitality. I
overheard that elves have been here before and
that the sidh are favored here. Is that true? And
are there elves nearby??" He paused before
adding, "Pardon the questions but I'm new to these lands and this world."

The Besamer is silent for a few
moments, “we will ...have to discuss that
later. Once things are resolved here.”

[Time: 12:42 pm – Kril Bes – Capital of Besam]

            Kiet doesn’t mind being left
behind. It gives him a chance to look around and
just rest. Walking all the way up here isn’t
exactly his forte. That’s why we use horses. At
least he’s spent plenty of time in mountain areas though.

Tsia watches Fremea as they wait at
the gate and tilts her head curiously, "What is
it like?" she muses "to fly with such a small
body? Is it hard?" she holds out her hands
imploringly, "I do not mean insult," she offers
quickly. Trying to get her face to soften from it's normal glare and scowl.

"I have longed to be able to fly, it
might have helped me escape from my family, but I
had not known of any such as yourself, then
again, I do not know if they would have helped," she gives a grimace.

Fremea has some flashbacks of people
in streets or ships calling her demon simply
because she had wings and looked different. Such ignorant folks.

Fremea stares at the one eye woman
with a startled look. No one ever asked her how
flying is. Especially a human. She never thought
about it before, it just always was and is what
she does. "I do not know any different. It has
always been that I do fly, can you think of what
it would be like to walk with a different body? I
can only say it is a pity that your kind has no
concept of flying, cause then I would not have to
hid my abilitye so others are not scared of me."

She pauses a moment in thought, damn
you Arawn. She remembers her own escape for a
moment and thinks how it would not really have
matter if she had flown or walked to get out, she
just know she had to leave, even if she didn't
understand that she could have made difference if she stayed.

"Yes, flying to escape is useful,
though sometimes it is best to be hidden instead.
You are exposed when in the air, no real place to
hide and if you are slow there are many things
that can catch you." She remembers that lesson
well. She shivers. "It is best to master all your
tools that you have, even if that is only
walking, or running. And if you want to learn new
ones, what would you enjoy learning?"

            Fremea then smiles a
bit. Remembering the half-giant Raban who could
actually fly. Course he was half human. She
wonders where the Bard is today somewhere back in
Donara she figures. Such a odd relationship to
have a 4 foot wee thing like her befriend a 8 foot 400 pound man.

Once in the Kril, Unali will relax
and sit at ease in the shadowy halls of the
besamer. The Captain feels it is best to have the
book guarded here, and clearly Arawn doesn't
oppose that thought, so she bows to their
decision. She looks around when the group enters
if there are any clear weaknesses in the defense
of the Kril. At least the door seems impressive
enough. But it is not so much a large army that
she would worry about, but more a lone thief.

                                 --------------------------

[Time: 12:48 pm – Kril Bes – Capital of Besam]
         [Inside Bes Kril]

Gnorf departs back to the gate.

            Raddok accompanies Dorhak through the
huge halls in wonder. Surely these besamer didn't
always build such huge spaces. They must have
found these caves and converted them for their
own uses – and did a marvelous job, efficiently
placing similar workstations together, so
resources could be delivered to various central
points as needed, and need not have to be
delivered 'scattered all over here & yonder' as
his father's foreman used to say. What made these
passages? Giants? Dragons? Oh – they had just met a giant – duh!

Raddok Became alert upon hearing the
word runemaster. He had only heard that title
once before, and that position, among the dwarves
in the mines along the borders of Donaran, had
been vacant for a long while. The previous
Runemaster had died, and they were waiting for a
replacement to be sent to them. Such skilled
masters were rare, he had been told, and
occasionally moved between the various mining
colonies if really needed. Although, more often,
the petitioners traveled to where the runemaster
lived. At least, that was how he understood it to
be, from explanations given to him in the past.
Being as this place had a king, they were better
able to have a runemaster, too.

Raddok hoped what he remembered being
told was correct, or he might make a blunder. He
might anyway, and hoped his experiences back in
Donara would give him the proper amount of
courtesy needed here. One never knew what to
expect day to day, did one? He was glad to let
Dorhak take the lead, & just listened to their
exchange, nodding his agreement to Dorhak's story.

Dorhak heard this is a runemaster and
straightens up a bit. Hopefully the human,
Raddok, understands the honor which is his
today. Not many humans are so blessed.

"It’s a bit of a long story. Far too
long to start from the beginning. I am the a
Captain of a vessel my companions and I claimed
in lieu of payment. These companions are my crew
(except for the crazy one-eyed human
female) Well, unfortunately, we were forced to
help a human that had found an abandoned dwarf
kril. He couldn’t get past the wards. I was
barely able to bypass them alive.

"This human then runs off ahead,
completely heedless of the danger to him or us,
and we took chase. We catch him attempting to
steal one of the kril
treasures. Thieving! Naturally, we try to stop
him but in doing so, he set off another ward
(actually, two) but it delayed us enough for him
to escape thru a magic portal to your land,
here. You see, from what we’ve been able to
cobble together, we are many, many leagues from our homes far in the west.

"We were able to follow the thief
thru the portal, and arrived in time to find him
dead. We were attacked by some disgusting
Kotothi which we dispatched, but also found there
were other humans waiting for the thief. They
gave him his final reward. Well, that still
didn’t pay my kin for their imprisonment, so we
went after the murderers. We finally caught up
with them but, before we could deal with them
fully, Gnorf and his people found us with them
and thought we were other, what were they called,
oh yes! Barn raiders. No, wait! Harn raiders.

"The thought we would be part of
these Harn is repugnant. And insulting.”

“Well, it turns out The portal
brought us far beyond our lands and to yours. We
seek any help to get us back home. I have to get back to my ship.”

The runemaster nods, he seems to
glance behind the two to some point in the
room. Then back to Dorhak. Raddok takes a split
second to pretend to clear dust from his eye and
use side vision to glance at the area the Bes
looked. The walls are spartan but Raddok does
notice a gem glimmer in the candlelight. Could
it be magical? Could the two be tested by magic?

The runemaster nods, “Gnorf has said
such. I have some questions. Where ..what land
was this kril or cave? What was the human
searching for some reward you speak of? What was
in the cave and the wards? You pass over
“imprisoned dwarves”? Gnorf would've surely said
ships can be found in Harn to the north. I'm
sure he'd suggest going there if needed a ship.”
He waves his hands open to his side in a what can
we do for you gesture. “What can we do for you
no water for ships exist for miles. I need the
info above so I can give our Archivist to
research. There may be details in our records to
help. What did this reward look? Ike would help as well.”

A Bes female enters with a tray in
hand wearing only a loin cloth and a simple pouch
around her hip. She places the try of food and
ale on the table and leaves right after. The food
include fruits, peanuts, nuts and hot breads.

Outside at the gate Gnorf and several
Bes follow. Gnorf greets the others as the large
huge gate slowly rises gain. Gnorf slides under
and bids the party fare well as he collects the
two remaining horses to head down to the dwarf village below.

The Bes who follow bring food and ale
for those who wait and wish to partake in the
treats as the same in the conference room.

         GM: Actions? Comments?

             Next update...Saturday?

GM: A short update. I already said lair
was too late. But did get an email about it
before I said that technically. If a way can be
figured out AND a majority want we can go to lair
let me know vote wise. With 11 of us need 6 for
majority. Dorhak will have to reply then we move
on. Though, a lair action could result in deaths
so it could affect future timeline. ;) Will try
for update Saturday if I have time but if not
then Tue/wed. Rather have votes soon but no later than next Tuesday thanks.
