[notes for GM: I keep forgetting Raddok was given a metal helmet from the treasure hoard he got the bracelet from. I now figure his armor weight with only the leather armor (quilted left behind), but allowed for the heavier helmet. I’m not sure if I had specified he had adopted wearing the metal helmet or not (I meant to, but doesn’t matter weight-wise; please let me know which you have listed.) I also assumed the full backpack weight as originally given with all the food items he started out with. I figure he’ll be carrying his share of any food/water supplies gathered by the others, so used that weight. I figured his clothes, armor, mace & shield, fighting & throwing daggers (which he really doesn’t use in fights), & his backpack & all gear from the original list adds up to 70.85#, give or take 2#. Stat-wise, I figure he can carry, with his StB added, (104+35#) 139#. This is where my thinking is for this update as written.]

Raddok sees Kiet’s head-shake when Z’leyra offers again to do Soul Sight for Raddok. When Kiet sits on the floor, Raddok thinks the magician is aware of something wrong. But since he’s sitting, it’s not dangerous. Puzzled, Raddok tells Z’leyra “Thank you. I really want to know. But I had better go get those supplies we need. I thought I had my rope with me, but I left it behind us in Vahear & we may need more than my climbing rope & Opus’s. So, I had better see what Crix has in his storeroom first. Maybe we can find a quiet time tomorrow, before we break our night camp, since we seem to want to get started today. I think we’re in a bit of a rush right now. Thank you! Tomorrow, then.”

Raddok gathers Barbosa & asks Crix where the supplies he offered for the crew are located, mentioning rope, mining tools, lamps & oil. He will go with Crix & gather as much as the group can comfortably carry. He thinks that maybe they should have an extra pick & shovel along – not just one of each. He already has a backpack, but Dorhak also wants another one for someone else to wear, maybe Barbosa?

He does some quick figuring, & is glad he left the quilted armor and greatsword behind. He figures he’s carrying almost 70# of armor, weapons & gear with his backpack now. He could manage another 30#, but that would be getting close to his maximum & the weight could hinder his ability to fight - or to run, he smiled wryly - unless he had time to drop the backpack, which seemed (considering recent events over the last few weeks, he chuckled) unlikely. He didn’t mind carrying his weight, certainly (again he chuckled, winking at Barbosa when he saw him looking at him puzzled), but there was a point that became impractical. He decided that if he wanted an extra pick and shovel & maybe even an extra climbing hammer, not just the one of each Dorhak asked for, Raddok would have to carry them himself. He had always worried about dropping tools during a climb, & had the habit of tying small cords to each tool that could be tied to his belt, but things still can break at the most awkward times. He began to think that extras were needed as a backup. They would tie onto his pack easily. Whoever carried the other backpack could also carry a set of the tools Dorhak wanted. Unless Dorhak specified otherwise. Raddok would prefer his own choice of the shovels & picks available for his own use. Every miner had his favorites, with the best weight and balance for the user. Raddok leans over to Barbosa as they look over Crix’s supplies & says, smiling, “Even the best miners can drop a tool now & then. Good to have extras.”

Raddok will gather 100’ rope, more if requested, plus extra lamps & lamp oil, & any other gear Dorhak requested, or that Raddok sees in the storeroom that he feels useful, including the two shovels & 2 picks. He will collect his own gear, weapons & loaded backpack together & place them where Dorhak wants everything gathered together. Raddok plans to use his mining skills, so he’ll have a pick & shovel tied to the outside of his backpack where he can easily get to them. If he’s told he must carry the extra tools he insisted on bringing, those may or may not be as easily accessible, but would also be tied to the outside of the pack, but he hopes that someone else with any mining skill will want to carry the extra set of tools, including a climbing hammer, if Raddok finds one in the storeroom. When he has a moment, he will check out, clean & do any repair on his gear & weapons as needed.
