Raddok has had too much, & not nearly enough, time to plan what he might do that would have any effectiveness against such a gigantic creature. Why, he thinks, if it gets much closer, just falling forward could cause it to be able to strike the ship! Or cause a crashing wave, which might be almost as dangerous, as close as he & the other ship members are getting to the stern rails. How long are it's arms? If he falls forward with his arms outreaching he could grab the ship nearly any moment! Raddok resolutely prepares for the worst & tries to banish that thought away.

He feels no special coordination with the other fighters & feels that Arawn must have cast his war-enhancement spell at those who are at the moment the most useful, that is, the mages and the flyers (especially those that might be both), and Raddok prays to any god listening that Arawn's spell has been effective. He is glad that reinforcements have arrived at the stern rails & that the seamen seem as eager to fight as everyone else, and can aid in protecting the wheelman.

At the giant gets closer, Raddok he himself cannot damage the giant very much, although he can contribute to damage already done - but he has now reconsidered his strategy (which had been only to attack as best he could). Now he feels that Mournath & Z'leyra, now just to his right, might need his shield more than his mace in order to continue their plans, and he moves in front of them to protect them as best he can, shield raised and ready on his left arm, with mace held in his right, but ready to reinforce his hold on the shield if needed.

Unless someone orders him otherwise, he's as ready as he can be, and he's listening for advice from those now behind him.
