       [Recap]

         From Dorhak: [Re: Old vote]
In game terms, I would grow with the greater magic rules, no
stacking. If you have something that grants S+3 and C+2, and
you get something els that give S+4, your final tally is S+4,
C+2, not S+6 Oh! 2017 no wonder no posts it was quoted from
           old stuff. :)

I vote do it per the rules. One item. More than one and they...
GM: Ack. This post seems to have quoted emails ? I never got
or was CCed. It may be below but I have the entire set of
posts below and did keyword searches. So I doubt I got it?
Did someone forget to CC me if this was in email? :)
Re: Dorhak: Correct. We had a large vote on this last
year on attribute effect rules. We voted and decided it was to
use the rules as is. Old post deleted as it was last year.
It makes sense now. So you were basically agreeing on the rules
             as is. Thanks!

       -------------------------------------------------------------
       [New Stuff]

[Marqi Frisda 23rd, 1636TH; Sivas, Marentia]

           [Tim`: 11:10 am]

When Mournath tells of the encounter with the ship's captain,
and of his regret in killing him, Kiet tries to comfort him
some. "You did well, Mournath. Do not feel bad about his
death. Who knows what further damage he might have done and
who he might have hurt. You did well."

           [Tim`: 11:22 am]

             Ix introduces herself to Arawn.

"Home? Where is that? Perhaps we can help the two of you reach
there safely," he offered with compassionate sincerity. "And, if
it's not a sore subject, your eyes... your vision, how did it
happen? I only ask in case it's something we can treat."

"Home? It's... It was Kll'maun. There's nothing there for me
now. If anything, I want to let the man who took me in outside
of Ba'ru to know I'm ok. His place is what I meant by home,
even if it was only temporary," she frowned when questioned
about her eyes and stared straight at Arawn. "I don't want to
sound disrespectful, but what is it you can do any different?
I'm just thankful I still have eyes there and not just hollow
sockets..." She sighed now. These people did save her, so they
deserved some kind of explanation, "This was done to me by
another shaman when I was only a child, an older man. He tried
to take my eyes. I'll spare you the details."

"If your wish is to return to Ba'ru that can be accomplished
with ease," Arawn said, the sound of an offer in his voice. Arawn
continues, "I am curious though why the shaman wanted to take
your eyes," he then said, annoyance mingling with his concern,
the former directed at the other shaman. "But that might be more
than you're comfortable sharing at the moment. But assuming a
powerful curse hasn't been placed around them I may be able to
regenerate your eyes. I am a druid, among other things."

             Ix glances around before replying.

"I only want to get a message out that way, but it might be
better if I delivered it myself. I wasn't planning on staying
in Ba'ru," while having a message delivered, it might ease Kaz's
worry if she were to go in person so he could see that she was
alright. "No one told me why he did it, but I did hear whispers
among the elders that he thought taking my eyes would make his
visions more powerful. I see things no one else can, and he was
probably envious of that," she tilted her head as she looked
straight at him, appearing to stare straight into his eyes.
"Maybe you could try, but... in all honesty, at this point, I
don't know if I want it fixed. As strange as it might sound,
losing my sight has made me see other things better."

Arawn listens and watches the wolf slightly.

"If it's truly your desire to deliver the message in person I
can help to expedite the process," Arawn offered. "Just let me
           know if and when."

"As to the other, a pity. Visions can come to us in many
ways. Stealing such power is hardly necessary. And I can
understand your hesitance to repair your eyes. Familiarity with
your current state and the heightening of other senses aside,
the intensity of your visions do not have to be tied to
blindness. If at anytime you desire to have your eyes restored
you need but ask. I can divine whether their restoration would
impact your visions and any other gains you feel might be
           linked."

Ix replies, "Whenever is convenient for you, please, but not
too long. I'm sure he's worried about me enough," she certainly
           didn't want to rush him.

Arawn gave a reflexive nod, likely to go unseen by the woman,
but followed up with a verbal response.

"Let us see what the others require of us in regards to the
situation. But once done, hopefully by tomorrow, I'll see the
two of us to the city of Ba'ru and we can journey to your
           friend."

           [Second deck]
           [Tim`: 11:35 am]

Arawn, Raddok and Mae inspect the captain's quarters.

Maelorna enters the room and sighs, 'I'm surprised he didn't
have a cabin boy to keep him company' she grouses as her
imagination didn't have to sink too low, the captain most likely
was like most men, full of themselves and in dire need for
satiation. Ignoring the obvious, she starts to look about from
her vantage point, but quickly gets bored as there appears to
be little of value or worth stealing. Not when her companions
are pawing over everything. She winces as she can see
how unprofessional they are being but gives a mental shrug,
it's their show and she was only along for the ride.

Her thoughts drift once again to the scent of the room, what
sort of 'man' had the captain been. You could always tell a bit
about a meal from the scents they leave behind, from their bile
as they evacuate their stomachs or when their bowels loose their
contents. 'Shut up already, I'm not like that,' she mentally
yells at the voice, which only elicits a soft giggle, 'Aren't
you?' it teases accusingly, 'I see how you look at that one, a
           meal and talk?

That sounds completely delightful, though I know the meal you
would like' it teases, 'the feeling of it's life force coursing
through you as you draw it's desire and lust out'. Maelorna
takes a calming breath and sighs, 'I didn't ask for a running
commentary so kindly shut up please,' she pleads with it.

Raddok watches the red head with keen interest not only due
to her looks but it seems clear there is some internal fight
among herself. The details seem to elude the miner.

           [Second deck]
           [Time: 11:42 am]

Arawn opens the hidden lock box with a piece of jewelry.
Mae is fascinated she has to use tools. She'll have to
find out how it was done later.

Upon seeing the lock box, Maelorna sighs, perhaps another time
once this was over she might try her luck at burglary, after
all one must keep skills in use or they get rusty and worse for
Maelorna, getting rusty only gives a chance at being caught by a
           guild member and more trouble.

[North of Sivas, Sand dunes - hermit's shack]
           [Time: 12:01 pm]

Kiet grumbles as he dumps sand out of his nice boots> and
puts them back on then walks back to the shack.

Pyan looks out over the dunes and says, "Do you think he will
           share the soup with us?"

           [Top deck]
           [Time: 12:50 pm]

As Raddok returns to the top deck with the other two from the
smugglers hold, he feels himself relax in the warm sunlight &
takes a deep breath of the sea air. Then he suddenly remembers
           something he's overheard from a (now-former) Ba'ru crew member &
turns to Arawn. "Are we in Sivas?" he asks, feeling foolish that
he's forgotten which port the ship had docked in. Arawn, looking
mildly surprised, turns to him & answers "Yes."

"That's good, then. This is the city where I had my horse
sent." He turns to Arawn & says seriously, while also looking
about him at the new dock site & the people on board. "I feel a
bit responsible that those dwarves were slaves & that I let
myself stay in the dark about them." He looks around, & sees the
dwarves haven't returned yet. "Now, they seem free to return
home, but what if there's another ship, or more, out there
gathering more dwarf miners for slaves?" He put his gear down
& began to don his armor, but only put on the tan quilted armor,
leaving the leather set & his leather helmet off in the warm
           weather, for now.

He looks at the elf & the red-haired beauty, Mae, and notices
Mae looking around as if her mind was elsewhere. Raddok tells
Arawn, "If you or your friends are following up on this -
situation, I want to go with you. I feel I must help, however I
can. I can carry my own weight in a fight." He scans the horizon,
quickly at the sea & more slowly over the city skyline.

"If you are taking horses, I can pick mine up, if someone will
give me the directions to the stable where I had him shipped. I
could even leave now, while we're waiting for everyone to
           return."

He pauses, then adds, "But I'm sure you all will first have a
lot to discuss, so I'm willing to wait on your decision. What
else can I do while we wait? Do you want me to rustle up a meal,
not that I've experience cooking for others, only myself, but I
can sear meat & wash some fruit & vegetables & maybe boil some
           potatoes, if there are any."

           [Time: 1:02 pm]

Dwarves and Ix bath together after a long sweaty trip.

Ix didn't have an issue sharing the bath house with the
dwarves, bathing with the opposite sex wasn't taboo due to her
upbringing, as baths weren't sexualized. Besides, she couldn't
see them naked, and they'd already seen her. She would have no
issue as long as no one got grabby. She was apprehensive about
leaving Zol'zim alone in an unknown city, but she eventually
relents and leaves the wolf. She pays little mind to the
dwarves, concentrating on getting herself cleaned up. It was no
natural body of water, but she still treated this time for
meditation and cleansing. Of course, while washing her hair, all
present would have seen the pointed tips of her ears. It wasn't
until she was finished washing and had gotten out to let herself dry
in the sun that she spoke to Dorhak, apologizing for not answering
him earlier She squeezes some more water from her hair and flips it
back over her shoulder, "I don't know if I want to go back to Ba'ru,
even though that's where I was taken from. I'm not even
from there...
but I do want to contact someone from Ba'ru. He was very kind to me
and took me in, I want to let him know I'm ok."

           [Time: 1:44 pm]

Maelorna stands a bit away from the group as Arawn talks, not
due to deference or appearance of being near her betters, she
knows that act all too well and can play it. No, her trouble
is more with the wolf and she wants as much space between
herself and that thing as she can to maintain an air of
politeness and give her a chance to defend herself 'Fire darts,
or perhaps summon your own companion, I'm sure that gwyligi
would love to see you again, I promise this time he'll be much
more friendly than last time,' the voice teases.

Maelorna sighs, her crossbow might be more useful and she runs
her fingers over the clip of bolts, she might get one or two
shots off if the Court was with her, or no shots if her luck
continued to hold as it had.

[After everyone has regathered to discuss the information
           they've discovered...]

As information was shared amongst the gathered Arawn did his
best to assist with translations as needed, revealing his
discovery of the ache of coins and jewelry that seemed to belong
to the sailors in the process.

"The sailors who yet live will likely wish their belongings
returned. But for those that were killed," he said, his lips
pursing with displeasure or disappointment as he mentioned the
dead, "I think we should sell what can't be identified as a
memento or item of significance and send the coin to any
remaining family that can be found. I'll take it upon myself
to question the sailors when the authorities allow for it."

News of the metalsmith working on something in the hold
intrigued Arawn, the Alfar wondering if it might be a weapon or
something linked to the mystery set in front of the party.

"When you're ready it might prove interesting to use Akasha in
the hold as well. Whatever was being crafted by the metalsmith
seemed important enough to be done aboard a rocking vessel, a
weapon or an item linked to their mission I'd guess," he said,
addressing the party but referring to Z'leyra in regards to the
           spell.

Damon grins at Arawn, "that box is pretty worthless to sell.
Unless you share the profits with a crew...as I do. Most sailors
send money home or spend it in a tavern before leaving again. Those
rings might give a few copper but not worth selling. They are
simply stored not to keep safe from pirates but to prevent
injury with ropes and such wearing such things."

Damon continues, "as to the metalsmith. You are a smart guy
but no need to waste a spell. It is very clear why he was hired.
To do the big cage in the hold. Yes, chains are much cheaper
but let's face it dwarves are strong. Chains can be broken.
If the guards were not around the hold and they do escape it
would be harder to put down. A cage prevents such things. Plus
           its more...diabolical."

           [Time: 1:55 pm]

Kiet considers the other two, these new people. The big man,
Raddok, seems sturdy enough and is at least decently armed. The
little blind woman is rather odd, with a pet wolf to boot.
Should fit right in with this group. Kiet makes a note to
himself to talk with them alone later. Kiet at least keeps those
           thoughts to himself.

Information is shared among the various members on their
           tasks and research.

Dorhak is somewhat taken aback by the tall dark woman's
suggestion that he 'lead' this...what would you call it?
           Adventure? Mission?

"Lass, are you sure about what you are suggestin'? Ah haven't
been with you all for long, and hardly seen any of you these
           past three months."

Dorhak wipes his face with his hand, making an ugly look.
He's obviously thinking hard about something. "Ahm not used to
leading a group this large. What leading I have done was in
combat and ahm thinkin' this might take a wee bit more than
that. However, I think I must accept. These were my kin they
kidnapped, and we dwarves don't take such slight lightly."

"Alright, then. We have a ship, but no crew. I know a few of
you have experience on these boats, but few of us dwarves have
any such experience. Truth is, going out on the water gives me
the willies! But ah ain't no coward, and some justice must be
done. So...Captain Damon! Do you know of anyone we could trust
to take this boat, and the lot of us, to this island?"

Damon grins and waves a hand to his sailor friends who are
still on board doing clean up duties, "I can furnish a crew.
That is easy. They might do better with coin in their pocket
for the service. But if you need some help I can help there."

To the rest of the people, he says "I have some conditions
for those of you that might join us. First...stop with the
secrets. Our very lives count on all of us knowing and
understanding what each of us is about and what we can do. So,
there will be time enough on board to tell stories. Secondly.
I have heard tales about how some of you rather like to wander
off by yourselves sometimes, and not tell people where you are
going...or even when you are going." He crosses his arms and
faces Fremea while arching a brow. "We'll have none of that.
It may work for you, but eventually someone's luck runs out."

Damon helps tie down a rigging rope with a sailor in the crow's
nest. He looks over hi shoulder. "I like prune juice for
dinner." Then realizes the dwarf means for those who join him
on the trip. "Nevermind I'm not going with you. Then again sharing
           that secret felt good."

"Now, I think I might be able to contribute a fair amount since
they wanted dwarves...and it sounds like some of what we have to
do is underground." He smiles at the thought of that. "However,
any ideas are welcome. Don't hesitate to suggest, just don't be
           impertinent."

Damon walks by to put a tool in the locker he stops and
considers, "sometimes when I'm on a long trip at sea I like
to stand at the front of the ship naked and let the air run
           through my legs and.."

Dorhak ignores the captain as he continues to stammer on.

             "So...who's in?" Dorhak asks.

"So...what supplies will we need? Will we want horses? How
should we get there and where will we land? I rather suggest
floating right up to that little village with our boat might not
           be the smartest thing."

Dorhak quietly waits for the others to speak.

Wow. That old man! Nuttier than a Bhamotin fruit cake.
Infuriating too. Now that Kiet has calmed down, he smiles a
bit. Interesting old coot. Kiet wonders what he is truly
capable of. Still, Kiet almost killed him over the "fancy
boots" comment. The others wouldn't have appreciated that,
           however.

The "Expert", aka the Guide. Kiet wonders what he meant. Is
this someone we have to meet or find? Was he (or she!) already
part of the ships company? A mystery. As much of one as is the
mention of 'the item' and an invasion. Kiet is most certainly
interested in what item could be so powerful that it would
           encourage an invasion.

Finally! Those dwarves are cleaned up. Ix too. Phew! Kiet
didn't know something that small could smell that much.
Having to endure looking at Dorhak was bad enough, but adding
the smell of the others was just too much.

Fomorians! Those bastards! At first Kiet is angry about
learning of this, but it's an anger born of his youth and
experiences. After a moment he calms down slightly, a little
           less likely to burn something.

Hmmm...this does provide a chance to cause them some grief.
Gods know how much trouble this group can be to others. Imagine
doing it to the slimy Fomorians. A gleeful thought, that!
Kiet has been hoping for such an opportunity as this, but so
many of these people have other enemies like Clima, or L'p'nth.
Some of them probably think of them as 'the good guys'. Kiet
knows full well how that isn't the case, but try telling them
           that!

"I'm with you on this one, Dorhak. I can help with the
           ship...I've sailed before."

"We have that smuggler's hold. How can we use that to our
           advantage?"

And, it might just be profitable, too. As have most of our
adventures. Which reminds him, "Unali...you might want to tell
your, um, 'friends' about the invasion mentioned. See if they
know anything. At the very least, they will know to guard
themselves from the Fomorians...just in case."

To Raddok, Kiet says in Donaran "Greetings, Raddok". Kiet
bows slightly. "I am Kiet Sunan. Like many of us, I am many
things. Acrobat, sailor, actor, but more importantly...mage."

Kiet turns to the young, blind woman with the odd name of Ix.
She is interesting, but he wonders how she is able to get around
without help, though he has his suspicions. A suspicion he
plans to check later. Still, he politely bows to her, slightly
more than he did to Raddok. He asks out loud to the others
present "What languages can she speak?" If there is one he can
use in common, he says "I am Kiet Sunan. Like you, I can wield
magic. And capable of many other things as I am sure are you.
It is nice to meet you."

Damon returns from below and taps Dorhak's shoulder, "I also
like drinking goat's milk while eating hot peppers in a nice
warm bath." Then moves on. Dorhak wonders if he can throw
           the man overboard.

Raddok is pleased by Kiet's introduction & replies, also
bowing s lightly. "I, too, have experience in several areas,
although not as impressive as yours. I was raised on an estate &
earned estate management, but have worked on my own as a
teamster, a miner and as caravan guard.

"I want to help, & if I overheard that word "Vahear" right, I
have been there - briefly, & have a standard visitor's map of
the island. "But you have much on your mind. We'll talk more
later. Very pleased to meet you."

Z'leyra will briefly introduce herself. "Greetings, I am
Z'leyra. Primarily a healer, I am from the Kameran and have a
broad range of interests including some skills in magic. Those
I associate with are welcome to stay at the manor I have here in
           Sivas. Welcome, new associates."

"Given enough time I can create another item to magically
assist in the learning of languages...unfortunately the previous
one I made was lost in a river of burning rock."

"Perhaps. But I'm curious nonetheless. I say leave no stone
unturned," Arawn replied. "But I'll see what I can pull up."

The betrayed Mournath speaks up to the others.

'Well, I've spent most of my life on board a ship, performed
most duties and have become a fair navigator. I can certainly
help with the running of this ship, and as far as crew? This
town is new to me, but I'll know what sorts you want and what
sorts you are best to steer clear of. If you'd like we can see
what can be found for a crew in this town and I can give you an
idea of how a man or woman might perform for us.'

Maelorna shifts from one leg to the other as she stands
there listening to the dwarf, 'How dare he! You tell that, no
better yet, let me tell him!' the voice yells out as she
struggled to maintain a pleasant demeanor. She regards the
dwarf and her lips curl into a knowing smile, "Secrets? You
ask much Dorhak, without giving in return, I have many secrets,
which would you like to know? But do understand, any secrets
about myself I give, I expect, no demand you to reciprocate
freely I have no reason to fear telling you anything, but know
that there is one secret that the only one I will tell is him, "
as she nods to Arawn, "Fortunately, he already knows it, I'm
already more fearful of that than having you take your anger and

frustration out on me again," as she smiles sweetly, "Granted,
I wouldn't deny you were well within your rights, after all, 10
months of hunger all within an instant tends to be very bad for
me and the nearest meal, I'm actually happy it had been you I
somehow chose, as I don't think the others would have survived,"
she looks at Dorhak and her smile grows warmer,

Damon leans in to Kiet and whispers, "I'd hear there was a show
in port Doman that had a large dog and a red head." But Mae
continues as Damon shares more secrets.

"As for my skills, I am no seaman, it doesn't mean I'm not
capable of assisting with general labor, cleaning and the like,
I will admit I was trained by the best eroticist and other arts
of pleasure, and no, not just whoring thank you," as she sighs
and almost gives a playful squeal as she can imagine the
handsome captain in her bed. "I can summon, eventually I'll be
able to summon true pets that will have no issues of control,
but fire darts I've been practicing more with. Daggers and the
crossbow that was given to me, I've become a bit more proficient
with. Now for the less desirable skills," as she shrugs, "Yes,
I'm a thief, more like a second story burglar, fortunately
I've not had the displeasure of making the guild in this city
take note of me," as she smiles. "but it was more self taught
due to necessity, years in a bed just to be someone's pet
succubus tends to lead to idle hands and all that," she
           chuckles.

A smile swiftly appeared on Arawn's face as Mae discussed her
more mundane skills, disappearing in a flash afterwards.

"I should add, for those not in the know, that I have some
training as a smuggler, though not to Raban's level. So if there
are any plans to redesign the smugglers hold, let me know. And
can function as a cook... assuming no one has a problem with
           elvish vegetarian fare."

Damon grunts and leans back to Kiet whispering, "did she
just say? Nevermind...I think I'll avoid her."

As Arawn joins Mae and the armored dwarf, along with the
elf's friends, Raddok settles onto the crate he was sitting on
when this whole episode started - when the arrows suddenly came
out of nowhere. He watched them gathering on the deck, and a
busy discussion began. He tamped down on his own impatience,
trying to appear calm and ready for whatever they decided. He
stayed his distance, thinking, "Maybe I've already pushed myself
too hard onto these strangers because of this strange business -
terrible, slavery - but I have no intention of being left
behind, if I can be of any use at all." He felt himself a
good enough fighter to hold his own & was willing to do some
scutt work & try to learn this Marentian language as part of
the job. In fact, due to his life over the last couple of years,
learning the language was likely a priority, if he wanted to fit
in enough to be comfortable with them. "And vice versa," he
           added to himself.

Ix listens and while her sight is bad her hearing is not.
did she just say the woman was a witch that drains like
vampires? Ix looks down and realizes the wolf has been
staring and growling at Mae for a long time and this explains
why the wolf is so nervous.

Arawn continues not translating that bit about Mae being
a succubus to Raddok. Should he or just let the man know
full details - sharing details as Dorhak demands?

Mae continues, "As for my prettier half, I'm learning a bit
more, I can use some of her abilities without having to take on
her form. I can feed now, without having to change, as well, I
can make those I want pets," as she puts a finger up to her
lips in thought, "Well, I haven't truly figured out how to tell
if they're my pet," as she shakes her head and looks at Dorhak,
"Well, tell me, what secrets you want to hear first?" she asks
           with a grin.

Arawn, who continued to act as interpreter where he could,
glanced over at Fremea when Dorhak drew attention her way with
crossed arms and cocked brow. However he said nothing, having
initiated a conversation with the faerry on the topic a short
while earlier. Only when the dwarf moved on to other issues did
           he speak up.

"I'm trained as a shipwright/naval architect and can assist as
both a seaman and backup navigator," Arawn chimed in.
"Regarding supplies, we can figure out the details a bit later
           once the exact route has been planned. Food and drink of course;
arms and armor for those without; and some gear to help out any
swept overboard in case things go poorly, at the least.

And learning swimming for those who can't might be wise while
           we're in Marentia.

As to steeds, we can leave them here. Once we've reached
our destination I can retrieve them. The question is whether
we'll be using a wagon to reach our destination and if the
dwarves will ride within or on their own."

"For our destination I say we look over Raddok's map. The
translated notes mentioned a contact in a tavern in what sounded
like a coastal city. Raddok or the dwarves should be able to
point it out to us and I say we aim there. I doubt the contact
will know who we are and, if we're lucky, we might be able to
impersonate the slavers. Or lacking that use subtler methods to
pry the information from him," he said, glancing at Mae. "And
           move forward from there."

"I can rework the ship's appearance and name a bit in case
there's concern over being identified by any risky parties.
Possibly the smugglers hold as well. And, before finally heading
out, I can perform a ceremony to invoke the blessings of the
           sea gods if you're willing."

Arawn waited for Dorhak and the others to share their thoughts
           before adding,

"Z'leyra, you saw the man who sold out the dwarven village.
Could you use an illusion to present his image to the dwarves?
It's best they, and we, know who he is for safety and justice.
And can you check on what was crafted in the smuggler's hold?
I'd like to know just what this seemingly significant item was."

Damon returns from moving some ropes with a sailor and
taps on Dorhak's shoulder. He leans and whispers, "I also
dream sometimes about Unali, Balrog and myself while..."
Dorhak shoves the man away as this is just getting stupid
           now.

Z'leyra answers, "Aye, I can craft an image. Perhaps you can
hold this necklace away from me while I do so...it tends to
destroy illusions that are close to it. As for what was
crafted...any chains, shackles, locks or bars down there. Seems
that they would be the logical things to be crafted for a
           slaver's hull."

Pyan thinks it over for a bit them speaks up, "Are there any
intelligent monsters that eat dwarfs? I don't know why but I
get the feeling that you weren't being collected for slave
labor. From what I've learned of dwarfs from Dorhak I can't
imagine them being forced to do work they didn't want to do."

Dorhak pales as he never thought of this. Dorhak turns to
Mae as she explains her skills.

The dwarf just shakes his head and sighs. Well, at least
the lesson made an impression. But he is also very over it.

"Lass, what I mean are the secrets of capabilities! So many
of you won't talk about it. But it's dangerous on these
adventures if we don't all know what the others can do. That's
all. I don't need to know about how many tricks you turn a
day. I do need to know what each of us can do...and what we
           know about this situation."

Dorhak looks at the others and says "I'm happy to start. I'm
a dwarf. So, I know dwarves things. First of all, my name. It
means Red Wall. It was give to me by my people because I stood
firm in the face of adversity. So know you that I will not turn
and run. I am trained in the mace and shield, but also the way
of the axe. I can also use swords and halberds." He looks
around and continues "I am a skilled miner and mason (I know
that must shock you!) but also some skill as a woodworker. I
found that useful shoring up tunnels. I am also well skilled in
my family business as a jeweler. I have a rather strong
           inclination with that."

"Oh! I almost forgot. I also finally know how to ride a
horse!" He smiles and looks rather proud about it. "I've
learned over the last few months. I thought it might come in
handy if we decided to go mess with the gods again." He shakes
his head at the thought of that. "I don't know any magic
spells. I don't have any magic weapons. It's just me, and my
shield, and my mace, and my determination to hold my ground."

Kiet listens to the ugly little man, and then to Mae's
response, and then to the Dwarf's reply. He rolls his eyes and
thinks they should just get a room.

However, Kiet has wanted something similar to this. So many
secrets, especially amongst the longest term ones of this
           group.

"Alright Dorhak. I'm in. I am, foremost, a mage. A grey
Elder mage. In my past I drove wagons and learned acrobatics.
I still perform just for fun. I am also an herbalist, actor,
know how to raise horses...who would have believed it
considering my home island...I have been sailor, smuggler...
Arawn, we simply must compare notes...merchant in unsavory
products, and some weapons. I can use shield, daggers,
javelins, and this tulwar. I have a variety of magic items,
including these rings, which could kill just about anyone here.
I also like to make items useful for our travels. I have ways
to create food and water while on the trail. Even fodder for
the horses. I seek to find as many Natural Magic creation rites
as possible. Much of my equipment is magic, so assume it to be
so. The weapons, especially just make killing easier and more
           efficient."

Damon grins, "don't wake up one morning for a morning relief
session and burn the ship down with those things! Ship wood
           and fire do not mix."

Kiet hesitates for a moment, then finishes with "Speaking of
killing, I am well skilled in that art when necessary and we
have a prisoner. But also I can often extract information from
           them. Not my proudest accomplishment."

"I can be more specific about things if you need it"

Damon frowns and turns to Dorhak, "he forgot one secret
he isn't sharing!" He leans closer to Dorhak. "He has
           a thing for snakes!"

Maelorna looks at Dorhak, "It's hard to look past such,
considering my position is tenuous at best. I had given my
word I would not harm any of you, I broke that contract.
However, with luck, we will never be in such a position like
that again," as she sighs and looks at the new comer walking
up to them. She gives a warm smile as she sees Raddok
approach. His words might as well be something Angel's speak
for all she can understand him, at least until Arawn
           translates.

'Ooh, ask him if he likes red heads!' the voice prompts, 'Shut
up, shut up, shut up, damn you, as much as I would love to have
a companion I could indulge with, the last one perished,' she
admonished the voice, even if it didn't matter, she was glad the
others couldn't hear the voice, it was bad enough at times
having to keep from responding in Lilith's command verbally.

"Well, I suppose I could ask a question, I already know the
game, I have to respond in kind. Do you fear my kind?" she
asks sighs, "Ugh, I don't even know if his language has a term
for what I am," as she looks at Arawn, "Or do they?"

Raddok had been settled, sitting on the crate, for only a few
minutes when he realized he should not be keeping himself
separate from the discussion going on only twenty feet from him.
Leaving his pack & horse equipment by the crate, he armed
himself, placing his shield on his back, sword in its back
sheath & mace in its belt loop, and walked over to the group
talking together in some (to him unknown) language.

Approaching the edge of the group, he stopped where the
armored dwarf could easily see him, and bowed slightly, in the
manner of dwarf friends, and spoke to (Dorhak) in his politest
Dwarf Elder. "Forgive my interruption, Master Dwarf, but I wish
know if your fellow dwarves are safely on their way home. I
would also have you know I want to know why I was deceived into
working for - whoever this ship was hired out to. If you are
seeking answers, then know that I do, too, and would accompany
you & your friends on your venture.

"Ask what questions you would of me; I will answer." Nodding
to Arawn, he added, "I hope you will find the map useful."

Looking around the group, he added (first in Dwarf elder, then
in Donaran) "You will want to know about me, but I have
interrupted you long enough. I will wait upon your questions,"
& he stands slightly aside, waiting, and happier to be amongst
this mixed group than keeping himself separate.

Ix listened to the others speak, considering their words.
Perhaps she could join them, if they didn't object to a blind
woman tagging along. She palms her cane and turns her head to
address Dorhak, "I'm a healer, but I'm still learning. And I'm
trained in the sword and spear."

Damon leans in toward Dorhak and whispers, "a blind girl?
First sign of trouble and she is dead. Heck even riding in
a forest she'll knock her head off from branches. You may
want to leave her behind. I'm all for females in a party
           but..."

Arawn, serving as interpreter between Raddok and the
others, translated Mae's question for the dwarf-friend after
           his own reply.

"In its own way. Ones such as you are a rarity but in one
form or another exist in nearly every culture."

           [Time: 2:14 pm]

IT has been several hours since the attack and now the
party is back together. The ship is moved. Captured
are bathed. Clues learned and plans almost ready.

Damon approaches the group, "I forgot to add I like to smear
watermelon juice on my belly and.." Dorhak growls and Damon
grins. "The ship is secure but that man said it should be
moved in the morning. Is this crew fine or do you need to
hire more crew? I can loan 4 of my men but you'll need to
pay them of course. Four should be enough for a ship this
small without cargo. Maybe even just two if some of you
take the Navigator position help out. But if you have to
depart the ship then I'd stick with 4 just in case. I'll
be leaving soon. I'll go fetch the sailors from the local
garrison and take them to my ship. My own ship will depart
in the morning. I'll get the dead dealt with either
buried at sea or burnt. Depends on what the sailors want
of the dead if they know. I have a cargo already for
Cholchara so a extended trip to Ba'ru will be no problem."

All this time Fremea has remained passive and quiet.
At some point Arawn would wander over to Fremea, his demeanor
           placid and features pensive.

"How are you doing?," he asked the fairy. Impulse had driven
her into action, impulse that he had hoped she had conquered for
her sake and for the sake of others. She had been quiet since the
massacre ended and he wasn't sure if she felt satisfaction or
           regret, or both.

Z'leyra explains. "Guys! You are letting a slaver escape! Kiet
and I were chasing him. Now...he is going to be gone before we
can capture him. The crew of his ship were enslaving folk from
this city, abducting them right off the street!"

Unali frowns. She explains a embassy is foreign ground.
just entering it could create a diplomatic nightmare. She
s well aware that some embassy places in Maren City are
magic laden to prevent surveillance and entry. Whether the
Fomorians have such she is unsure. She knows since it
s located here in Sivas not Maren City the capital the
nation considers Fomorian a non-close one. A secondary
nation of importance since Fomoria is so far away the
nation doesn't consider it as close relation as Bhamotin or
          Donara for example.

           Next Update....Tuesday?

GM: This ended up 90% recap and 10% new. There are still some
plans to make. So without further info I'll stop here since
it has been way delayed. Sorry about that. As I posted
in my Time Study it takes up to 75x as much time for me to
make than you to read. I am not saying NOT to slow down
the posts. They just add to the time that's all. I enjoy
               the participation. So what now?

               Things to remember:

               * Fomorian officer left behind by Corona and Marentian
guard. Last known he was there about 3 hours before.

               * Apparently Fomorians planned to take captured workers
for a Mine or Mountain area. Which is unclear. Why
Dwarf and not any old humans is not known?

               * Vahear was destination it seems somewhere along the
                 northern coast.

               * Expert of some sort was supposed to be met by the
Fomorians first possibly as guide to the final
                 destination.

               * Vox strongly suggests the ship leave in the morning so
any 'incident' can be closed. The longer ship remains
here more issues could arise. As a province the
Kingdom disavows any connection an doesn't want the
ship so its a spoils of war.

               * Damon and other sailors will send any ashes (or if body -
very rare it will happen) to Ba'ru with any messages and
                 personal items.

               * Damon can deliver msg to Kaz for Ix but it seems Arawn
and Ix will go on their own assuming this is done after
morning they'll have to find the ship at sea assuming
Dorhak orders ship at sea at sunrise.

               * Sounded like Arawn will personally track down every family
of the dead so he may also need to catch up to the ship
if the ship leaves at sunrise. but then again Dorhak
did order the group stay together. He is leader. :)

               Things to consider:

               * Ship Hold Smell: Won't be nice to sail with that odor
                 still around if used.

               * Supplies and Crew to obtain?

               * I assume party accepts Ix but as Damon points out he
isn't sure if she is more a liability or asset. Same
                 with wolf.

               * There are 13 berths including captain's bed (Dorhak?)
With 11 members at least 2 plus any npc crew will have
to sleep elsewhere. Berths are not comfy meant for
hard sleeping by sailors (aside from comfy captain's bed).

               * Plenty of storage for gear. Smuggler hold is NOT
good for horses as no good ventilation. Main hold
could leave door open but getting horses down stairs
in a tight ship? So if horses are taken they'll be
on deck probably so probably not a good idea?

               * All will speak Marentian but Raddok. So he may need to
be trained or translated. But there is a issue of
Vahear and Fomorian possibly as well?

               * Expert name added to people file. online.

GM: Got 4 hours or so till sunset then all night to get any
gear as needed. At this point we can decide on which
stuff to take and not to take. Some folks have entire
huge lists of items while others have 20 items. You can

               A) Cut/paste items to me which is taken or just add
a * to the very start of the item line which I'll
use a note. If take it all Then just say all and
you're done. If you take 90% of your stuff Send
a short * or cut/pasted item listed of what is taken
or not taken depending on which is shorter.

               B) If other format let me know.
               If unsure ask.

GM: Arawn - Big email coming. Sorry I held it till now.
                 A. Do you take Ix?
                 B. Do you track down each dead family?
                 C. How long you stay in Ba'ru?
                 D. How do you find ship again?
                 Assuming Dorhak okay's the trip.

                 E. Do you still cast the spell or ask Z to see what
                     was done in Hold?
                 F. Do you cast the Divination spell for the Dark
Knowledge spell to question a crew?

Dorhak: Lots of leadership to figure out plan wise.
Assuming you take ship to Vahear or just sell it.
Selling a stinky ship though is very bad.

Fremea - I know we talked in chat but no post. So
hopefully will at least read last few updates.

Ix - Issue is only Unali has ever really seen you fight.
So to the party they may consider you too disabled.
Just keep this in mind for interactions. :) Can skype
                 if questions.

Kiet: hmm nothing for you. :)

Mournath: Technically your not a super skilled Navigator.
(EL40 would be professional). There is one other
party (only 1) that has Navigation. That person is
technically better. BUT if you do take hand as Navigator
you can get practice. So it is up to Dorhak if the
wants you or other PC or a npc navigator.

Mae: Unless feed off a fellow pc/npc you could get
fish or seagulls to feed off if it s a long trip?

I do not have exact trip times yet. It depends on
various factors at this point I do not know based
on plans you or may not take. I think I calculated
a few months back. If I vaguely reclal it was 30 or so
hexes? That might take 2-3 weeks with good sailng. But
if there is magic (thus the factor I can't plan for
until its actually planned) could help speed things.
But let's say a round trip is 2-3 months?

At least for Part 1 of Adventure. :) Once I hear solid
plans I can figure out travel times.

When party sails to Fomorian and invades taking down
the island by themselves that may take a bit of time.
Opps. I shouldn't say that yet.

GM: Next update? Honestly unsure. Tomorrow 5/16 is out
as doc visit will take all day. Thur will be hectic.
Friday I could probably do 1-2 hours but may not be
enough time. Saturday looks like staff will be playing
'we don't want to work day'. So I suspect it next
week. Sorry. Once the trip actually starts more updates
should be possible as it won't be wide tiem spanning
then. Aside from random encounters. But for this
initial planning phase its always slower.

GM: As I get emails I collect and reply at one time. I then tend
to send replies out in 1 file. IF you need immediate reply
that can't wait in subject ilne do something like NEED INFO
ASAP or such. Otherwise I delay it for various reasons.
