            Kiet wakes up at the alarm but 
doesn’t immediately know what it’s about.  But 
it’s dark and he can hardly see.  He first drops out of his hammock as quietly
as possible an casts EL1 Infinite Sight on 
himself and takes cover, grabbing his shield and sword if handy.
            Assuming it works...By Tiamat's ugly visage!  What
is this thing!
            For the first time this trip Kiet 
wishes he had his javelins.  This thing is too 
big to blast off the ship with the rings.  It would just
burn and take the ship with it.  So grab what's 
next best?  No!  Wait...an idea!
            Kiet mumbles quickly "Ben Nez forgive 
me" in the language of the Wind.  He
begins to draw mana to cast a maximum EL 
Elemental air pact using the words of The Wind. 
Once the pact is made, Kiet then draws power to cast a maximum EL
lightning bolt, again using the language he’s 
tried so hard to learn.  If this leviathan beast 
isn’t dead by that point, cast another maximum EL lightning
bolt.  Continue until the threat is over.
            Assuming he's still alive after the 
encounter, he is quiet and subdued.  In fact, he 
is clearly embarrassed.  And a
bit sad.  He had hoped to not use the gift of 
this language until a summons or fist encounter 
with a sylph.  His level of respect, reverence and regret are
what foster his embarrassment.
            Kiet will allow any that need it the use of his healing dagger.
         GM: Ack. Good post. I like how you go 
beyond the simple use of action to add flair - 
rping to it.  Then to add the mythos / 
religious  side like Arawn adds character.  Very 
good.  BTW I see no reason why wouldn't have javelins. :)



         From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
            First casting on herself the highest 
EL Clairvoyance spell that she can cast in one 
phase (not using staff). Then if in range Z'leyra will cast a Fire Dart
(through helm) at the creature. If not in range 
she triggers the speed of her boots, gets in range and casts the Fire Dart.
         GM: Ack.

         [Time: 3:02:00 am]
         [Phase 1]

            Kiet wakes up at the alarm but 
doesn’t immediately know what it’s about.  But 
it’s dark and he can hardly see.  He first drops out of his hammock as quietly
as possible and casts EL1 Infinite Sight on 
himself and takes cover, grabbing his shield and sword if handy.

            Fremea flies to point blank range and 
fires her bow.  The arrow goes flying fast and 
hits but bounces off the creature's tough hide.

            Kiet casts his spell to see better 
but nothing happens.  He curses at the failure.

            Z'leyra casts her clairvoyance spell and hope it works.

            Corona continues to sleep in the 
crow's nest with a belly full of fish making him very drowsy.

            Unali wakes to wet slurpy noises and 
peers at the creature only a short distance 
away.  It looks like a large bloated cow standing 
at 4-5 feet depending on if creature raises his 
body up or lowers it to deck.  Though the neck is 
8 feet the spine does not allow but only 5 maybe 
5.5 feet high to raise the head.  The true bonus 
is under water where it can angle his body for 
the full 8 feet. But here gravity 
interferes.  The tail is also 8 feet but is low 
sweeping only maybe 3 feet off deck at any one 
time.  That leaves the fat bloated abdomen which 
is 8 feet long and 4-5 feet high depending.  It 
drops water and mucus from fish kills and oil 
from its own skin.  The stubby legs are 3 feet 
but gravity demands the body which is probably 
300 on low side as much as 400 pounds on high 
estimate but looks to be at least 350 
pounds.  This does stress the ship decks 
somewhat.  Boards creek and moan under the 
weight. The legs end in stubby almost useless 
webbed animal like feet like those of a 
cow.  There are then protracted fins on the head 
and abdomen which allows its streamline form to 
swim fast – as fast as 40 feet per second in the 
water.  Unali and any others who peer at the creature see all these details.

            Unali rolls off her hammock and grabs 
her dagger sheathes – always at the ready.  She 
stands and draws the magical dagger from Z'leyra 
and hopes it will warn her like a faithful 
companion.  Without thinking she charges the 
beast.  There is no time to think and with Zepp 
probably dead she must distract the beast.

            Unali leaps onto the large back – 
which is large enough for 2 full adults to st on 
– and stabs downward her daggers. The surface is 
very slippery and her skills and magical daggers 
help to allow hits.  The first dagger does 10 and 
the second does 6 past the creature's tough 
hide.  The beast bellows a gurgling almost dolphinistic squeal of pain.

            Arawn wakes and sees the beast.  But 
the pain of Zepp hits Arawn the most. Then Unali 
charges and angers the beast by stabbing 
it.  Arawn grabs his sword and shield eager to go help Zepp.

             Ardrackle wakes up and grabs his 
sword, though very hesitant to help against this 
beast he hears Zepp scream in agony.  He runs to 
help out and ends up next to Arawn.

            Brutto wakes up and stands something 
is wrong and he decides to kick Finn awake as he 
grabs his sword ready to head out of the cabin.

         Zepp grabs his wounded side and sees 
this mess of teeth over him.  How did this thing 
get on ship?  A bit sick he instinctively rolls 
off the hammock and tries to crawl a few feet away to safety.

            Pyan wakes up and hears muffled 
noises but isn't sure what is going on. Maybe 
that crazy dwarf is doing another drill or 
Zol'Zim is chasing Mae again causing havoc?  Pyan 
grumbles and grabs his spear, bow and quiver.

            Mournath finishes ringing the bell 
and sees Zepp crawling away from the beast.  A 
fellow sailor down needs help.  He raises his spear and runs to help.

            Raddok rolls over and continues to 
dream of a great gold mine find.

            Barbosa wakes and grabs his mace and 
shield.  Seeing Raddok smiling he nudges the 
miner awake and heads for the door of cabin.

            Dorhak wakes up heart rate climbing 
from the alarm.  Leaving his comfy and warm bed 
he grabs pants, mace and shield.  He smiles wryly 
thinking that the odds of ever having magic were 
so remote not that long ago.  He opens the door 
to his cabin and sees others entering the hall.

            The small dragon – maybe juvenile – 
sees the tasty sailor crawling away. Sure 
something is on his back but fish do that in the 
water as well.  Pain is there but hunger is 
greater.  He cranes his head down to Zepp to take 
another bite but the sailor rolls away just in time.

         [Time: 3:02:04 am]
         [Phase 2]

            Corona wakes and leaps to the air and 
begins to circle the ship trying to figure out what is going on.  .

            Fremea aims but sees Unali on its 
back. She turns to the head but see Zepp too 
close so turns to the creature's tail and fires. 
But again the arrow bounces off the tough hide.

            Z'leyra triggers her Firestone in her 
dragon helm – ironic helm made from dragon hide 
used against a dragon – and aims for firing.  She 
has a chance to hit the sails, Arawn and one 
sailor.  Then she could also hit Unali on its 
back and kill her.  She could miss and hit 
lockers and set the ship on fire.  Yet with this 
in mind she fires.  The bolt of fire shoots from 
her helmet narrowly missing Arawn by half a foot 
and hits the tail of the dragon doing 12 points of damage.

            Kiet doesn't see by his spell but now 
his vision is better due to the fire on the 
beast's tail.  Fire?  Kiet gets a good look at the beast.

            By Tiamat's ugly visage! What is this thing!


           For the first time this trip Kiet

            Unali feels a flash of heat behind 
her as the beast begins to buck from the fire. 
Lucky for him its the tail so he can stomp out 
the flame and its tough hide helps. Unali wonders 
if Kiet is trying to kill her with those 
rings!  She stabs again but with less force due 
to bucking and fire shock.  The first dagger 
doesn't penetrate his hide and the second one 
only does 1 more point of damage.

           Arawn makes the 12 feet to Zepp and 
leans down.  He drops his sword to check Zepp's 
condition while keeping his shield to avoid those 
teeth. Arawn figures he'll live but is losing a 
lot of blood with a 3rd of his life gone already. 
Looking over his shoulder he tells Ardrackle to help move the sailor.

           Ardrackle rushes and grabs Zepp and 
begins to lift/drag him away from distance.  At least 15 feet or so.

           Zepp grabs  Ardrackle's arm with a 
bloody hand and grins, “death by seafood!”

           Brutto is first to the hallway and 
rushes to the stairs and enters onto the top deck.

           Finn finally grabs his sword and heads to the hallway as well.

           Mournath rushes toward the beast and 
is relieved to see Zepp for now out of 
danger.  He thrusts his magical spear at the 
beast and hits in the rump but his tough hide blocks force of the blow.

            Raddok finishes getting his gear and 
heads to the door and enters the hallway to the stairs.

            Pyan pushes past Raddok and enters 
the top deck and stares at the beast.

            Barbosa rushes past Raddok and exits 
onto the stairs and gawks at the beast.  Who summoned this thing?

           Dorhak sees all the others exit rooms 
and get to the stairs before him.  At least he 
passes Raddok and is faster than him.  Dorhak aka 
“Red Wall” isn't a coward!  But once on deck and 
sees this beast almost 5 times his size he wonders about that.

           The beast turns his head and bites 
Mournath in the right middle ribs doing 4 points 
of damage past his ring mail.

         Actions? Comments?

         Next Update...Thursday/Friday?

         GM: A fun update 2 of the good guys are 
wounded.  Err.  Wait.  Good for dragon not for 
party. :) Next week I'm off 5 days (M-F) and 
following Xmas week only 4 days (M-Th).  Then its 
only Tue/Wed off.  Sadly all my vacations are 
gone. Then it'll be 9 months in 
September.  :<  So updates may be erratic but 
will try to do them Monday and work on them Wed 
and try Fri.  But those end of week updates will 
be hit/miss.  Probably best to Saturday and 
Wednesday but we'll see.  Next update is phase 3 
and 4.  If get enough posts can do it on Wed but 
if not then Thur/Fri.  I believe all but Mae/Ix 
are on deck now.  But those at stairs will take a phase or two to get to beast.

         GM: Arawn – Got email will answer this week.

             Raddok- Got note on language stuff will do after combat.
