GM: Ack. Just one minor correction. It was south not north.
In the map I list /I\ = North its a arrow of sorts
so top of screen is north. :) This is 99% of all maps
I do. BTW.

GM: Ack. Arawn retracted his statement in email for lieu of
other actions in email. So based on this you did not
hear it. But I will do some rolls to see if you figure
it out based on his eyes and mannerism. Ok. Did not
pick up the cues. But I did a Int Roll and you recall
the Vong thing. So I'll allow it. :)

[As Z'layha doesn't understand Marentian he'll repeat this in
Kameran in the next phase if she's still unable to move/free.
He'll skip including her in the spell this phase because of
this.]

[Audience Room - Current room]
Arawn, so focused on gaining control of both the whistle
and himself, nearly smacked his hand to his forehead for
missing Mae's control of Zin. It was too late now, her thrall
now translocated alongside the other shape-shifters, but he
trusted her to take full advantage of her newly acquired
mastery. And hopefully Zin would survive - answers and guidance
would prove most useful if they were to escape the divine
prison and perhaps end this threat in a proper manner!
Maelorna regards the herculean action that Arawn performs as
he takes possession of the whistle. A warning registers in her
mind as her toy, Zin, is transported to the north of the cavern
with the other shifters. 'Damn it, I'm not going to lose you,
not yet at least.' as thoughts of watching his last moments of
life fill her with a cold comfort.
She curses in Lilith's Command at the interference of her
desires and spotting both the blood on the altar as well the
dagger. Using her wings to help her leap over the altar to
grab the dagger, wanting a weapon she knows how to use.
Her next thoughts and actions are of the group and she knows
it's going to hurt them. She leaps, trying to fly as best she
can over to Fremea and yells out to Zin, "Slow them down as you
can, my love." she instructs him, hoping he will be able to
survive even that endeavor. She can't bring herself to look at
the Fae in her eyes and reaches about her neck to feel for the
nodule and once found, grips it firmly, "Hold still, it's going
to hurt," she warns, "but I think I can rip it off, mine somehow
ripped itself free."
Dorhak sees Mae fly over the north east edge of the altar
and lands next to Arawn. The Dwarf wonders why she just
didn't walk the 4 feet?
God of stone and silence! That weird redheaded human
isn't really human, but a demon! Are the rest of these
"humans" also demons? Dorhak considers these remarks.
Arawn is almost startled by the sudden leap-fly-lunge
movement of Mae when she lands right besides him. But
he is so focused it doesn't show on his face.
As Mae leapt towards the altar, reaching for the dagger -
made of the shifters own flesh and hopefully effective when
used against the rugged beings - Arawn made his way towards the
party. In one hand he held the whistle, in the other the gently
swirling orb that was the Cyrx.
Arawn pondered whether to risk the whistle, recalling the
tune that freed Kiet but knowing that a false note could prove
disastrous, or to invoke safer, but slower, magical methods.
'Slay the Tame, Fremea!,' he thought to himself, recalling
how she did so on the Vong devices in the past. He would have
done so himself but he was still too far away to catch the
others. Still, there were other things he could do as he
rushed closer to his companions, watching with concern as the
shape-shifters closed in on his allies.
At least this is what he had planned. To yell out to
Fremea. But even that would take critical seconds away
from other actions. With 5-6 seconds before the shifters
could attack it could be too big a risk. So he only
considers this in his mind. Hoping that maybe Fremea
can sense through his eyes what he hopes for her.
Whistle or spell... which to choose?
Fremea has been thinking that a lot of this does not seem
real, that she is just caught in a nightmare and none of this
exists, accept one of her companions minds. But, she does play
along with it for a bit and works on freeing everyone and
taking care of these creatures.
Once the bug is removed for her neck, she can finally cast
something. She has been itching to take care of these creatures,
since she could not fly. She already knew what to cast, but
Arawn still has not called it out. With her fingers loose and
her sidh tongue wagging, she cast Slay the Tame. But she
recalls from her Vong attempts to kill the torture devices
in the caves. The living creatures holding even one of her
own kind.
Fremea focuses but the anger builds. Being held yet again
as a slave. Surely Mae should be also going crazy at this very
thought. But Fremea hates this feeling. But she recalls
Arawn's teaching and controls her anger.
A moment later and Arawn had made his decision, hoping his
choice would prove a wise one.
[Phase 1]
Arawn processes the scene in the south. There are 9
being held against 4 shifters. But the quickest spell
he could do is at most 5 people. But who is the most
vulnerable? Who could take a hit and live? Arawn
reqrets the idea of choosing. But he has no choice.
"Translocating everyone to Kiet! Don't resist!," Arawn called
out, hoping the others would allow his magics to take effect.
Arawn hopes that those closest to the shifters would be
in more risk. So he chooses. He concentrates and hopes
the spell works.
But nothing happens!
Fremea casts the slay the tame spell but she glances
at Dorhak and Kell but they are too far away at 15 feet.
But as she ends the spell the spider-bug pops off of
her neck. It jolts Fremea from the surge in a bit
of pain. But is mild As the blood trickles down the
back of her tunic she unfurls her wings finally!
All but Zin runs forward.
Shifter #2 transforms into a large two handed bull
almost like a minotaur but with two sets of horns
at the top. It extends large sharp claws for hands.
The creature swipes both claws at the back of Fremea
with one missing but the second claw swipes in her
lower left just above her waist drawing blood doing
1 point of damage It is a good thing she is still wearing
her armor.
Shifter #3 turns into a large 4 legged beast with a
long single tusk. It roars and charges Mournath. But
the tusk does not hit the sailor.
Shifter #4 at the same time as his other 3 allies moves
toward Pyan. But this time he remains in his current
humanoid form. He lunges for the back of Pyan and slices
a line with one claws on his back drawing blood for 2 points.
Zin re-orients his bearings and moves north west to
the red head demon thing.
[Phase 2]
Arawn curses under his breath. The shifters are faster
than he expected. Now three of his friends are under
attack. But there is hope. Fremea seems to be free.
Arawn sees Z'layha relatively safe but repeats his
warning in Kameran. But he now has targets to choose
from to keep them safe. He chooses Dorhak, Unali,
Pyan and Kell. But who for the 5th target? This leaves
Unali, Z'leyra, Fuk and Z'layha. Fuk might be just far
enough to avoid immediate attack. Unali and Z'leyra
are strong people and should handle attacks. So he
chooses Fuk. Suddenly all 5 appear by Kiet. He had
hoped to move toward Kiet to help free them but
he could not cast magic and move.
Z'layha can now move some of her fingers.
Fremea twirls around and leaps to the air. She knows
she has no weapons but she is a weapon. She stares
at the bull creature and leaps onto his back. Twisting
with both hands she twists one of his horns and then
moves to his eyes. Her fingers pierce the eyes and
the shifter screams. She knows the shifter could just
probably re-form new eyes. But it is something.
Bull-Shifter #2 bucks trying to get Fremea off her
back. But she is so small it is like a elephant getting
rid of a fly. It decides to claw upwards with both
claws. One misses but the left one scrapes against
her left breast giving only a light touch as the armor
protects her.
Tusk-creature-Shifter #3 charges Unali but Z'layha
yells out to warn her and this startles the shifter
and his tusk misses her by a half inch.
Shifter #4 moves toward Z'leyra. The shifter claws
both times at her and one misses her side. But the
other does hit but her armor protects her.
Oblivious Zin moves past Tusk-Shifter and moves north
right toward the altar. He ends up about 10 feet south
of the altar looking at Mae.
Kiet is getting very annoyed at not finding his other
ring. He is wearing one but where is the other? He
continues to spill sling projectiles and bag contents
all over the ground. Then suddenly he is surrounded by
five others! But they just stare and contorts their
faces trying to free themselves. He hopes they are
not after his gear!
Fuk yells at Kiet who is only a foot away. "Dagger in
my mouth!" Fuk figures if the acrobat will not do anything
he'll at least kill with his head. At least its better
than this so called entertainer.
[Phase 3]
Actions? Comments?
Next Update.. Wednesday...
GM: I will just do 2 phases. Mainly to allow new actions.
I will do the next update Wednesday afternoon starting
around noon EST. Hope to be done by 8pm ESt. Since
I have a podcast that night I help with. Darn. The
shifters had SUCKY rolls. I'll hope for better next
update. So next update will be short again.
I assume Arawn will try to translocate the rest toward
Kiet (Unali, Z'layha, Fuk, Z'leyra). If those folks
do not want to go let me know. Unless actions or changed
Arawn will try to use the whistle and hope he doesn't
cause brains to explode. :)
GM: Arawn - I assume go with emailed actions. Whistle and
try to get the last toward Kiet (aside from Fremea).
Sadly first spell failed which was super rare. If
you need phase 4 stuff let me know
Fremea You are free. Your post didn't say what spell
to cast once free? Want to brawl or use martial
arts or a spell?
