OOC...now I just have to make up my equipment list.
GM: Ack. I think I captured your IBT. That small post on
Sky knowledge and such is just your IBT? That comment
on gear implies it is sent so making sure.

         From Arawn: [Re: Action]s

OOC: Unali, Kell... anyone else - let me know who plans to
travel to Maren/Ben'dar's and when so I can work this into
           our IBT's
GM: Ack. Wout and Tobie has been kind of quiet lately so hopefully
they'll catch up and let you know.

         From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Arawn turned his eyes in the direction of Kes and her baby,...

           [OOC: Once planning is done...]
         GM: Ack.

         From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
[OOC: Forgot to add this when Arawn offered to assist the
           constables]

"Pyan, I'm not sure of your resources being so new to...
         GM: Ack.

         From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Kell will ride with the group. It is safer and easier and much
faster. Keep it simple. No Ba'ru is fine. There will be time
           later.

Some thoughts on plains and water and such. Isn't there a lot
of water on the plains naturally? The Zen'da use horses and
don't have to haul water. Depending on the plains, it may be
very very wet. Think Iowa. If not that much water, then think
Kansas or Montana - there is still plenty of water for the
animals. There are 2 reasons for saying this - 1. To simplify
things and not focus on planning, but the adventure. I'd rather
spend more time on the adventuring/rpging than planning for
water in a pbem. This is just me. 2. It may fit. With all
the zen'da horses, they have to have a lot of water. Lots of
streams and small ponds and rivers. I never thought of it as a
desert plains (think Arizona) but as the Midwest type of plains.
There. I said my peace. :)

Kell will stay and Z's manor house, since she offered. During
the two weeks he brings 12 bottles of wine to help stock her
cellar, good wine. He can offer to help with other tasks around
           the house.

IBT is in process. Some change from the first version I sent
           but not a ton.

[Wow. Total lack of RPGing in there.]
GM: Ack. No Ba'ru. To me it makes far more sense to go to
to Ba'ru but oh well. Like you say maybe later now that
you are back can have your adventure. :) Though a trade
marathon to save the province is too boring. :) It is
winter and so plains tend to have less water on average.
In my view of the plains its more old west movies with
dry grass and almost desert conditions. The zen'da are
nomads so they do move from place to place so the water
shifts. But most of their water is from wells. When
well dries up water is gone for a bit. This means there
are 99% non static villages. Cetric's place is one of
the rare stationary ones. So given any period of time
the villages all shift. Warriors have horses not every
woman and kid. So there aren't many horses as one might
think. So planning for water is critical. This is why
I gave options. If ignored not my fault. :) As to streams
and such I don't see that based on the map.. No this
is the AZ plains. Maybe fringe on borders there are midwest
plains but 90% is AZ plains. Villages might help with
water but you are also taking water from them. So keep
this in mind for a limited resource. If it snows that helps
water supplies but otherwise it does not. 12 Wines ack.
So I can toss old IBT away or you will make a final copy?

         From Kell: [Re: Actions]
           Kell's 2 weeks in Sivas:
           ....[Deleted for space]
           That's it!
GM: Ack. So this overrides old or is this add to? You posted
this publicaly in case forgot. :)

         From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Yes, sending to the list is fine. No need to ask. J Debating
about horseshoes for all the horses, but that is more mana than
Kell has or can cast. So they will be done a few horses at a time.

One last thing, and this in character:

[While discussing riding and fording rivers and such...
           ---------

So add to IBT create 2 small items to cast Earth Bridge.
Will send a followup email just to you Scott.
GM: Ack. Ah answered my question on posting to list. :)
I did not read the IBT as I process it once I hear its
final so it wastes time with edits/changes. So will wait
for final verifications. But making shoes eh? So that'd
be 40 or so shoes? Last time I saw Will wait for follow
up email though I may have it already. I'm behind.

         From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
"Fremea if you do decide to take a horse, being as you ...
         GM: Ack.

       [New Stuff]

           [Decalis 25th, 1634TH]

           [Cholan's Tavern]
           [Time: 8:07 am]

Z'leyra asks Kell. "Would you make a sustenance object for
me? I can see it being very useful for many years. I will make
for you an enchanted carrying bag...you choose the size and
style. Pouch, saddlebag, whatever form you want. The enchantment
roughly triples what it can hold without adding weight."

"A saddlebag would be perfect!" Kiet then adds. "Also, do
you want food for you or fodder for a horse?"

"As to logistics." Z'leyra states, "To reiterate, those of us
who wish to travel via teleport to Cetric's village will leave
from here on the 8th or 9th. If anyone wishes to meet us there,
I hope your travels go well.

I expect us to head north from Cetric's village on the 9th. I
do not wish to overstrain those that teleport us nor the
supplies we must carry, the supplies for the horses being the
heaviest and bulkiest. So I ask that we limit ourselves to one
horse each. Fremea, you can ride double with me if you wish.
Hopefully the bags I will create will be sufficient to carry
any extra gear needed without overburdening the horses. If I
have time and mana enough I will try to make and enchant some
water containers as well. Unless someone can create water from
           the air?"

To Kiet, "As to the object to provide fodder for a horse, a
thin leather loop might be appropriate."

To all, "Remember it is winter and in the north. Dress warmly
and bring a warm bedroll, perhaps a tent to share. The horses
should each have a horse blanket."

"Also, if we follow the river at all, it will make it easier
to keep the horses watered. We don't have to depend on the
river, as it will be fed by many streams." Kiet suggested to all.

"Seems like a sound idea, especially as we're not in a race
against time. And when pressed we can rely on melted snow, rain
or magic if needed," Arawn commented after Kiet's suggestion.

"And for those carrying feed, I'd suggest a version of elf-
cakes for the horses be brought along as well. Consider them
treats to supplement grass, hay and such, a replacement for
grain. They should prove lighter to carry than grain while
carrying the same nutritional value to the horses. Z'leyra,
are you up for taking care of this?"

In the meanwhile, I'll see to finding a suitable pavilion for
the horses for the worst days. And I also still plan to visit
Ben'dar so if anyone wishes to accompany me to Maren let me
know. But before doing so I'm going to check in with Caladan
and Chion unless Z'leyra or another person has plans to do so.
Their assistance, if they're willing, should help out
tremendously and aid our arrival in the village."

Arawn turned his eyes in the direction of Kes and her baby,
giving an apologetic smile when he met the mother's eyes. With
the party so focused on planning out the journey some of those
present were under threat of being overlooked. Including the
           constables.

"It will be a difficult enough journey with the proper gear,
vastly more so if not," he said, addressing Fukishtu and Lucria.
"It will be my pleasure to see to your needs while we share the
road. Let me know what you'll need and suggestions you might
have. And please don't hold back - even if you're here on
assignment you'll be facing danger alongside us and I'd not
put either of you at additional risk."

"And, along this line," he continued, turning to include the
entire group. "We'll be meeting with at least two tribes, the
Ga'Fel and among the Kameri, and it's often the custom for
guests to bring gifts for the hosting tribe or leader. Aside
from anything traditional that Z'leyra may know of I'd suggest
winter gear - food, blankets and such - to help them through
the season or weapons for the hunt or defense.

We can bring Ga'Fel gifts on the 8th and leave the Kameri
gifts here in storage until needed, at which point I shall
           translocate back to retrieve them."

Fuk looks intrigued but shakes his head, "we both have
experience outside the city. We know our way around the
wilderness. Why we were selected. To be blunt we will see
that Z'leyra will be our primary protection. Not for her
safety but for the final goal of solving this murder."

Lucria nods, "I can live on rations for months. I travel
           light."

Arawn nods and stands seeing Kes heading to the back room
           to probably feed her son.

Arawn wandered over to Kes and her baby, Viktor. Although he
wasn't one to fawn over infants he considered them precious
charges that warranted the best caretaking by others. And of
course, mothers loved to display their children, even if no one
else actually found the stories all that interesting - though
watching two or more mothers trying to one up each others
stories held some brief entertainment value.

As such he allowed Kes to coo over her child for a bit before
offering his own gift, a series of herbal recipes that she
could easily craft to deal with many of the common problems a
growing infant would face, from colic to teething to rashes. He
then performed a blessing of health and happiness over the child
before planting a kiss on the child's forehead and a hug for Kes
           before seeing himself away.

Kes smiles and thanks the Druid. "He smells just like his
dad but has my eyes. I suspect he'll be walking by spring.
Its funny seeing your group. Life moves slow for us but
for you it seems fast. But yet all around you folks like
me and Cholan have families. So when will you decide to
settle down and meet some pretty young elf?"

Arawn smiles and continues a bit more chit chat before
           moving back to the group.

Arawn finds Pyan. "Pyan, I'm not sure of your resources
being so new to our company but if you're in need of anything
please feel free to let me know," Arawn said, giving the
           hunter a kind smile.

Lucria, Kiet and Kell target the discussion on fording
           the river.

Kell adds, "I do know a hand spell to help us cross rivers.
Earthbridge. It can create a bridge across any gap, and unless
it is a very very large river we can remain dry. I can span
about 120 feet with this, although we need to be pretty quick
crossing it. We have to cross single file as it will only be
8 feet wide.' Smiling that maybe there is one less problem for
the group to worry about. First water and crossing rivers, now
just water and food and bandits and blizzards and rogue mages.
Well, maybe still some things to worry about.

Thinking for a moment about this, scratching his head under
his hat, "I'll create a couple of small items to create an earth
bridge. Then we have plenty of time to cross and won't be
drained of our ability to cast." Smiling now and thinking
maybe of making one to sell as well.

Fuk asks, "how long does this spell last?"

Lucria pipes in, "selling this to hikers or those who
climb mountains would gain a profit. Folks who are stranded
by avalanches or need to cross land covered by snow could
           be useful."

"Fremea if you do decide to take a horse, being as you travel
light, perhaps the steed could function as a pack horse?," Arawn
said after the faerry was asked if she'd be taking one. "I don't
imagine you'll be riding it into battle and I or another can
keep back to help protect it in a fight. And I or another could
cover cover or help cover the cost for the horse."

           Actions? Comments?

           Next Update....Friday?....

GM: Another short update per se. I had to work today first
time in a month on a Monday. So I did not start till
5:30. Didn't finish old stuff till 10. Finished emails
by 10:30. Now it is midnight. Just starting 'new' stuff.
And I'm tired. :) Anyways Friday's update MAY be iffy
due to things later in week. So don't be upset if not
update but I'll try. I need to start on IBTs tomorrow.
Since I don't have any confirmations of it being final
IBTS I'll do npcs first. Basically let me know when
your IBT is final. I do NOT read IBT stuff until it is.
As we can see form Kell's (just as an example here nothing
personal) it changes. So I don't read until everything
is settled since its too difficult to keep up with the
changes for this many players. So for now I have IBT
in files to process when its final. First one to say
               its final will be processed.

GM: Items ala Magic Laws: I was lenient for years but
with the Laws of Magic I need to keep things more
realistic. To me a item should be made not 100%
to function but to make sense. A cowl to spin
in a mug to detect poison is silly. But a cowl
for night vision is fine. A belt that shoots
fire darts is weird but a belt to create a shield
makes more sense. See what I mean? A waterskin
that talks to Birds is weird but a waterskin that
detects water is fine. So with this in mind things
like magical bags or saddle bags seems to be stretching
it a bit. I can't place it. But it just seems weird
to have say a bag or saddle bag that holds X but is
tiny It is like the infamous Bag of Infinite holding.
A cheat to me. Just hated that bag in D&D. To me
Kiet's token for food is fine as it has the good
runes on it. But a leather strap for food? Just
seems weird to me. Strap to carry. Straps to hold.
Straps to beat but to make food? Really? Just my
2 brass bits. Something to consider. Laws of magic
is great but abuse causes problems. All magic has
a price as the Dark One reminds us.

Food - Food for horses. I'm no expert but I do own
a horse at a relatives farm. To me in my universe
food is oats, apples, carrots, grain, grass. So
to me eating cakes or bread is not good for the horse.
It might backfire. Horses may not be able to tell
you they are bad off till its too late. Keep this
                 in mind. :)

                  Option: Ba'ru to Village 23 460 miles

Total: 910-950Miles depending on Ba'ru visit

               Sivas to Village by water

River to Village 31 620 miles
River to Village 5 100 miles

                Total: 720 Miles

               Village to Kameran border (roughly)

                Zen'da Plains to Border 43 860 miles

These are rough estimates and I may be off a few
               hexes. These are various options.

So let's say ship wagon/horses by barge up river.
So let's assume a simple barge doing 10-20 miles
per day. Might even do more with good winds. Let's
assume 15 on average. That's 40 days. Ok. So shipping
ahead of time may not be a good option. :)

How about going to Ba'ru and getting supplies there?
Wagons? Horses? That is the closest large city to
the village. If prepare is done at start of IBT and
say a person ships those items (wagon/horses from Ba'ru)
to village then would need only cross 460 miles.
At 25 per day would be 19 days. Almost in the IBT
               time period.

As GM I'm only trying to cover options. You guys have
to do some serious logistics to decide. Mainly the
horses and/or wagon/food. To fit within the 2 weeks.
Above there are some option as well. Chion if in town
could be swayed to help as he could probably teleport
               2-3 wagons in one jump.
