OOC:

[The gifts were done in IBT technically given to the village days before...]

NP. I must have missed that he had given them already when I re-read the post prior to sending. Arawn had wanted to present them when the party was on hand as he wanted it to be a gift from the group. But no worries on this as long as things don't come across as Arawn grandstanding.

Arawn, ever eager to hear the likes of legends and prophecies, sat as the reverant child, committing the Zen'da legend to memory. And although full of questions he kept from letting them spill forth, instead allowing himself only a few lest he tire or insult the Zen'da. And as they continued their exchange he couldn't help but find himself thinking over the other doomsday predictions he'd discovered over the years, both in the mortal and immortal realms.

Men often simultaneously feared and waited with eager anticipation the passing of such prophecies. They stood afraid of the darkness and suffering of the final days yet held faith that in death they would find peace in the domain of the gods. So, how terrible then when the gods themselves whispered of immortal passings, for what afterlife awaited them?

[Not sure if the Blue Bugs/Ezam might have been brought up during the party's interaction with the tribe but if it is...

During his time melded with the Vong World-Brain he had caught glimpses of some of the few remaining vong trapped in this world. Weakened in power now they could still pose a threat and he couldn't help but wonder if a connection of some sort existed between them and Ezam, if not the L'P'nth government itself. He shuddered to think as to what terrors such a union could produce and once again found himself pondering the cause of that nations sudden exodus.]

Hoping to avoid Lucria's previous captors as well he asked,

"Do you recall the name of the tribe? If so, Cetric might be able to advise us on how to avoid or handle an encounter with them."

[When Waluf is introduced as the party's guide]

Arawn greeted the zen'da guide with much warmth and thanked him and his steed for the sacrifice of their time.

"If you're in need of anything, please don't hesitate to let us know. You do us a great service and I would not be a poor guest to a warrior and his steed."

6:48 am

[An edit to the post as you indicated that the tribe has already received the gifts during Arawn's IBT] -

When Z'leyra presented the medicine kit to the shaman he added,

"And this as well, a good utility knife to balance out the other. May it serve it you well."

He then handed over a sturdy blade, of excellent craftsmanship but simple design to best suit daily use by the humble shaman having made a note of Cetric's comment when he had accepted Arawn's prior gift.

He then turned to include the party before continuing.

"The winter is harsh and has only just begun, the months ahead challenging all of us to survive and grow strong. Some of us will set out on a quest in the harshest of seasons, through dangerous mountains and unknown lands to uncover mysteries of the past in a search for justice. I would invoke the Ice Warrior (Payan) that he might bless us with guidance and protection to see us through to our mission's end.

And if it's acceptable," he said, looking to Cetric. "I would also call upon this blessing for your village as well that they might find the season more bearable," he continued, settling into silence to await the Zen'da elder's permission.

[If Cetric/the village approves Arawn will perform the Ceremony in the village with all interested present. If permission isn't given and Cetric wants the ritual done elsewhere Arawn will perform it away from the village in an appropriate area]

Arawn stood in the center of a circle formed from those in attendance. Dressed in druid attire he held a bowl in his hands, filled with water blessed thrice-over by the touch of sunlight, dawn to just before dusk, with pine cones and leaves of holly nestled at the bottom. The strength of summer and the power of winter rested within the humble vessel over which the druid began to pray. He spoke, first in the primal language of the Sidh before moving on to the susurrant sibilation of the Wood before moving on to the language of the Zen'da. As he did so he moved clockwise about the gathering, holding the bowl to the sky at each cardinal location. Held in one hand was a switch of pine with which he sprinkled the holy water upon the assembled.

"Hail, the Ice Warrior! Hail, the Marshal of the Wild! Hail, the seeker of justice, great Payan! Bless this water and those touched by it that they might be blessed by your hand. While the land prepares to slumber, when cold and ice bring others to a halt, you walk the land in untouched strength. Grant to these people your strength and wisdom to see us through this season.

And as you seek justice for the ancient wrongs I implore you to guide the shamaness, Z'leyra, as she seeks the same for suffering and wrongs laid against her. Grant us the strength to make it through snow and ice, hardened by winter's embrace so that we might help her. And may her goal resonate with you that she might walk in your footsteps, walking a path blazed by you, most high Payan!"

Arawn fought the immediate urge to rush to the horse's side but the ebon serpent barred the way. It reeked of taint, it's venom deadly, and he allowed Corsaya to keep her distance as he assessed the situation.
