Fremea takes a couple of deep breaths. Is Varange bluffing, just to get her to touch the pedestal? Is he just really wanting this piece to bring the Fae on better grounds with the Elves and the humans? Obviously her mark will not work on him, but maybe she can use the same trick he used on her. Just in case he tricks her.

"Yes, I will take the piece and my parents. I do not wish to harm you as you are Faerry and I truly do not know what has been going on. It is a bad idea to keep the assassin in the dark, and I am not talking about just you. Why would I report anything to the Royals? They enslaved me, took my parents away and turned me into a ruthless killer. One thing I can thank everyone for though, is that I decided to become more than what everyone wanted me to be. Even you." She walks to the pedestal, hovering her hand over it. "If you cross me and keep in the dark, I may not be able to protect you. You are an amazing General, stop acting like a spoiled brat."

She waits for the slightest acknowledgment that he understands she is taking the piece and her parents and then places her hand on the mark.
