     [Recap]

        Post from Will: [Re: Actions]
OOC: I thought that Will was probably to far away and to involved
to be of much help still hes open to suggestions. It seems to me
that rescuing the human and stopping the shaper form using the
orb are both priorities. We have already let one Vong escape and
the clock is ticking. The human could give us the edge in
information that may help us get to the next phase of the
operation ahead of the curve and still surprise them. Of course
if the shaper alerts the entire complex then all bets are off. If
the vong could at least be delayed and Will be alerted maybe he
          could still be of help.
        GM: Ack.

        From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Kell thanks Z'leyra with much appreciation.
          And a hug. :)
          -----------------
OOC - Ya know, Ditto from Kell. He's too far away to change
anything. Unless the time warp happens to restore Ha'Kell's arm,
in which case he' ll impale the Vong in the face and attempt to
help the human and prevent contact.

I didn't get any inclinatin there were humans/slaves/captives in
the room. Flog the dwarves more!
GM: Ack Dwarf in question was flayed.

        From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
Just had a chance to read the post and I'm working on other/new
ideas but for the time being but, seeing as the element of
surprise is gone as far as this chamber is concerned, perhaps if
someone calls out to the rest of the party regarding the last
          human....

(Arawn may do just that but, as he's invisible, he's not sure if
he wants to ruin his chances of taking out the orb by alerting
          the Vong to his presence:)

And don't worry, there are several of us the dwarves failed to
alert- the dwarves are gonna get flogged but good!
          ---
          I is- no quotations:)
          ----
Yup. Just hoping someone who's not invisible and not trying to
take out an orb is up for doing it:)
          -----
          Fire away! :)
          ------
          LoL.

Maybe if we're luck this is all still part of your dream sequence.
If we're extra lucky you'll wake up in bed back in the DL and
find out the adventure was just a really bad dream.
GM: Ack. Quoted sections removed of course for space. Sadly,
I also tried to think of something and little gave way on
the realism front. But I can adapt to those who make mistakes
            under my service.

        From Will: [Re: Actions]
          Yelling couldn't hurt.
GM: Ack. Assuming folks see them. Since they were in shadows
I used this aspect to note that folks didn't see the humans
            till too late.

        From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Guessing this is all OOC. OOC Scott, hear me! Ha'Kell is
up for stopping all communication and keeping surprise. Not sure
how much he can do right now, he's busy bleeding.
          ------
Sweet! I can grouse and complain and tell all the jokes I want.
          This rocks!

Maybe I can even delay trying to work for a few more minutes...
          -------
I lean towards surprise is gone now too. Sadly. See, shoulda
just let Kell earthquake the whole place, and bet that gold too.

Jokes. My brain is just too tired to dredge up anything except
          maybe some blonde jokes.
How many blondes does it take to screw in a lightbulb. None, she
          calls Daddy.
What do you call a blonde between two brunettes? Confused.
What do you call a brunette between two blones? Translator.
          I won't go on.
          -------
ha! Now that would be a downer. All these actions, just for a
          dream.

"Like waking up after a quart of Jack Daniels and a few bad
sausages" - anyone know where that comes from?
GM: Ack. Now you tempt the dwarves doing their jokes. But due to
thier error in transcribing the update I've banned them for
this year. Plus water downed kool-aid and not ale for a month.

     [New Stuff]

         [Augado 10th, 1634TH]
         [Location: Middle Katai Plains]
         [ Mountains west of Pamau]

         [Time: 12:56:32 pm]

Kiet concentrates on his magical rope now inching up the leg
of the Vong warrior. He smiles that this is likely the first
actual use of the rope trick to work. Minor issues and timing
failed other attempts. He waves his fingers toward the hands
of the gray headed creature in delight. The rope slinks up fast
and tightens around the wrists of the warrior. The rope then
tightens like a tight noose drawing the hands closer together.
The Vong is startled and tries to flex the amphistaff in his hand.

Raban glances briefly to see the Vong warrior entangled by the
rope. He figures Will can finish the Vong and decides to look
about. He spots Unali and Farseeker in the distant north. But
he doesn't spot Arawn or the humans. For the humans the growth
of the amphistaves in the water are blocking his view as well
as the area is in full shadow. He glances north to the entrance
to see Fremea and Captain Lin standing against a wall. He
doesn't like Fremea alone with the sneaky Katai. He bolts for
         the north to join them.

Unali for the last few seconds has seen the humans. She has seen
two slaughtered by the warrior. But she knows there is nothing
she can do as it would take 10-12 seconds to get to the last human.
Sometimes one must continue the mission. Even the Shaper is just
beyond reach right now. She hopes Arawn will decide the right
thing to do. Guessing where Arawn is she runs forward and ends
up behind Farseeker. Unali shoves and thrusts her two daggers
at warrior #C which bumped up against Arawn. The magical dagger
hits on the right shoulder doing minor damage. The normal dagger
does massive damage almost 3x as much as the magical dagger.
This combined dagger is just enough to kill the warrior out right.
The second dagger took some damage from hitting the warrior's
         right arm and bone.

Farseeker can see one warrior killed by his left side vision but
doesn't know if it was Arawn or Unali. But he grips his great
sword hard in both hands and thrusts at the warrior #E in front
of him. The large blade impales the warrior in the upper left
chest just below the shoulder. The blade impacts deeply and does
enough damage to kill the warrior in one blow. The blade does
take some damage but still holds together.

Chion turns to the trapped Vong and walks toward him with his
sai. Chion swings his small blade but the Vong ducks and
dodges the blow and amazingly the blade fails to hit him.

Ben'dar continues westward a bit upset that he is not in the
thick of things and killing Vong yet.

Arawn brain gets into hyper mode as he tries to figure out his
options. It was only a couple of seconds that he really got a
good eye on the humans. He regrets that he didn't know of them
earlier or acted first. He considers using some shadow magic
to deal with the warrior and shaper at one time. But his brain,
which is not a mere mortal one, considers the odds. If the
spell fails the human would die. The Shaper would warn the
full base and then everything is lost. He could instantly
teleport to the human and save him only to lose full stealth
to the shapers orb. Is one human worth possibly hundreds
of others that might be captives? Could he risk hundreds that
could be slaughtered before the group even left this cave?
Even at hundreds if the group is defeated when stealth is
lost you lose up to 7 million lives in this empire and the
world? Is one life worth that much? His mind reels in
pain as he considers the options. His mortal side says all
live is sacred but is one worth millions? Could the party
deal with possibly hundreds of Vong fighting us if they
are warned? Even their powers might not be that great. The
spell is the best option yes but what if it fails? The
Shadow warrior might even miss the targets to save the human
and the critical orb. Then the human life wouldn't be worth
saving. In great mental stress he pleads for help for his
situation and maybes his parents will help. It happened
once in the fire on the library room in the castle. A miracle
worked to save books. But even that could fail. He can't
depend on his parents every time. In his super intelligence
that could match the full power of his mental prowess he considers
all this in a fraction of a eyeblink.

Arawn decides the risks is too great. Happy that Unali kills
the one Vong near him, he moves. Drawing his magical sword he
charges the Shaper. He knows he is 4-6 seconds to the humans.
But if he can stop the Orb maybe he can save the human and the
entire party. Using his martial arts he raises his buckler on
his arm toward the Shaper's forehead. The blow is light not
meant to damage but to daze. With his other hand he swings as
best he can to the orb. Just as the Orb seems to unfold to
make a shape like a Vong head. The blade slices through the
mushroom like texture of the Orb and slices it sheer in half.
The Orb's top goes flying toward the ground and near the
water. But the same time the blade slices off two fingers
of the shaper's hand. He glances to the orb and notices the
face seems to distort and dissolve. A noxious odor and
smoke like material exits the bottom of the orb which is still
         in her hand.

Kell backs away and reaches for his arm. He knows that
the others can deal with the trapped Vong. He moves toward
Z'leyra and hopes she can save his arm yet again.

Captain Lin studies the "bleeding" Vong door. He figures
this could take too long. He scans the meaty texture of
the animal like structure. He places a gloved hand on a spot
then another spot. Nothing happens on tapping the place.
Then he slaps a third spot with a slight white spot. The
door seems to open up like a mouth from both sides. One goes
left and one goes right in two sections. As soon as the
door opens a foul stench is detected by both Lin and Fremea.
Lin is a bit hesitant to move through the door.

Vong #D killing the humans pauses. He notices the door
opened and wonders where the guards went. He'll have to
kill the humans there. Then he smiles and remembers the
one human left. He swipes the amphistaff and slashes across
the old man's chest. Then he turns happy of his duty and
         sees Farseeker.

The entangled Vong tries to free himself with his sheer hands
but the ropes are just too tight. With trained muscles he
flexes the amphistaff attached to his arm and makes it into
a snake form so it can do something soon.

Z'leyra puts her sling on her belt and motions for Kell to
come over. She draws her satchel out and stars to examine
         the arm wound.

Caladan moves westward to join the others.

Kiet grins that his ropes work. Now his true skills come in
hand and he draws a dagger. Approaching to the side and
rear he draws the dagger to the warrior's neck and slices the
critical neck area. Blood pouts outward a few inches near
Will himself. The Vong gasps but the creature seems eager
         to live only on fumes.

Will growls that his nice skins might be tainted by the gush of
blood draws his blade and pierces the front of the warrior's
neck killing the warrior. The stubborn Vong falls to the ground.

The shaper dazed looks down to air. She doesn't wear a snake
head but is confused by the sudden attack. This must be a foul
human magic trick. They do so fight unfairly and with no
honor! Upset she drops the remains of the orb and draws her
coufee. She swings wildly at the air but fails to even get
near Arawn in fact missing him but a good foot.

           Strie'bog moves westward as well.

Zhou notices the ropes still tight against the Vong's hands.
He turns to Kiet and grins. "Nice trick. There is one girl
         I could use-"

Fremea has been in sewers and the smell is bad but she has
to act. She steps through the threshold and turns to face
a long winding rock tunnel going about 30 feet north. There
is a couple of light torches but it is mostly dark. She draws
up her dagger and moves fast but cautiously.

                                -----------

         [Time: 12:56:35 pm]

Raban's eyes grow wide as he sees Fremea disappear without
support. He is tempted to fly but runs as fast as he can.

Unali charges the Shaper and steps to the left of her drawing
both daggers. The magical dagger fails to hit but the normal
damage does light damage to her lower left chest.

Farseeker charges toward Warrior #D who is moving his way and
ends up to the flank of Unali.

Chion looks around and notices the sights at the north. Things
look good with only one Vong seen. Warrior #D he can't see due
         to the dim light.

Ben'dar moves westward eager to kill something.

Arawn's mind reels at the death of the human. He could do
something he hopes. But now anger directs his actions rather
than reason. He draws back and swings his sword at the Shaper.
For giving the order to kill the humans she must die. The
blade thrusts at her middle left chest and dives deep in between
ribs. This is enough damage to kill her instantly.

Kell sits down on the ground and waits for Z'leyra to do her
healing thing. Too bad there isn't time to get a full nude
         body healing massage.

Captain Lin steps forward after Fremea and heads down the
dim tunnel. Then a foot or two behind Fremea he notices a
glint of something move behind her. He lunges forward. He
grabs onto her shoulder and shoves her to the left then
turns around to place his back to the right wall while moving
Fremea to the other side. Fremea is shoves away and Lin
does a back kick with his left foot toward the shadow form.
Lin strikes the Vong but is light only to startle him. But
figures that she would've died from a certain death strike.
But what was that strange thing on her back he felt? She
must be wearing padded fluff clothing or something? He
draws back up in order to strike at the hidden Vong to the
right in hopes he isn't hit first. The Vong seemed to have
just fled around the corner only 5-6 feet from the door.

The hidden Vong swings his amphistaff toward Captain Lin's
back and hits squarely in his back. But the blow is light
since he is recovering from being startled. The amphistaff
does only very light damage barely doing a bleeding wound.

Vong #D turns around to notice the Shaper killed. He then
realized he is outnumbered. His duty is done so he considers
his next option. The gods demand a honorable life through
duty and sacrifice. If it means his death to kill these vile
humans so be it! He charges forward toward Farseeker with
his amphistaff at waist level. He slices the staff toward
Farseeker but fails to hit the warrior.

Z'leyra inspects the wound and find Kell's arm is in serious
shape. There is massive tissue and even some bone chipping
involved. She is amazed its in one piece except for a chunk
of muscle meat that is hanging dangerously limp. She figures
it will take a high level healing. But first it isn't life
critical so she tends to do normal treating of the wound first.

Kiet checks the dead Vong to ensure he is dead and then uses
his fingers to unwrap the wrists of the warrior.

Will turns to the north for the first time and looks to the
distance. He can barely see the outline of one warrior but
doesn't seem to see anyone else left.

           Strie'bog continues westward.

Fremea shrugs off Captain Lin's gesture and moves his hands
away from her hidden wings. A slight growl is heard but it
is very low. She can't believe she got snuck up on. She
shoves Lin aside and charges toward the Vong with her dagger
in already in hand. The dagger stabs the Vong on the upper
left shoulder doing a minor wound.

         Actions? Comments?

         Next Update....Monday...

GM: This encounter should be over next update. With one
Vong that fled in the hallway to deal with and the
one fighting Farseeker should be easy to do in one
update. Likely it will be Fremea/Lin to deal with
the first Vong. Maybe Raban could help if get there
in time. Farseeker, Arawn, Unali should be able to
deal with second Vong easily. This leaves others
to do minor cleanup and rally. Healing will be done
likely next phase as well. Actually I assume Arawn
by default will check the humans out rather than attack
the Vong but I could be wrong. While this isn't a
perfect situation with the mistake done there is
some reason to it all. I tried to cover the logic
above, I hope. Experience will be updated in the
             next update for tonight's update.

GM: As to saving the humans. I did come up with only 1 possible
solution. But as GM I shouldn't give hints as it might be
needed next time. :) Let's just say Chion has used it a
             few times over the years.

         GM: Spells active:
               Arawn - Invisibility
