From Raban: [Re: Actions]
Raban growls a little to himself over all the missed chances,
but now this UFO will feel his wrath. All his skill is focused
on killing his enemy, but once the shot is off he will take
evasive action. If it survives he will continue to shoot it
again as it passes him.
[Assuming Raban survives too, LOL Likely not the best idea he
has had. But the UFO will definitely feel it, especially if the
Dice decide to be friendly.
GM: Ack.
From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra will try to hit the UFO from above and slightly behind
at short range with a sling bullet or two. When she falls behind
she will pause to cast Luck at max EL (in Tongue of the Sidh).
then she will cast Teleport EL0 to get ahead of it so that she
can repeat hitting the UFO with sling bullets.
[If the UFO has crashed she will head over/teleport towards the
barn.]

[Julis 26th, 1634TH]
[Location: Middle Katai Plains, Shantou Province]
[ 20 Miles south of Shantou City ]

[Time: 2:27:33pm]
Arawn concentrates and gathers mana around his center of gravity
ready to drive it through him in the form of a magic spell.
Kiet realizes this is it. The time for the UFO to hit him is
here. It tried once or rather was this close. It is now or
never to cast his own attack spell against the UFO so he prepares
for the spell and begins allocating magical energy.
Whitney also glances to the right seeing the flyer do its final
attack run. The thoughts of Will continue to flood through his
telepathic connection. He tries to shake it off and concentrate
himself on his own magic plans for the UFO.
Invisible but now solid Will glances toward the swarm of insects.
They seem to go down and then back up from the hole. Now they
seem to be shifting toward him. Will gathers energy for another
spell of his own.
Ben'dar growls in pain, shock and anger and reloads his bow.
He aims and fires at the Flyer about 150 odd feet away at
long range. The arrow flies true and fast passing about 20
feet left of Fremea. As the arrow aims dead for the rear of
the flyer suddenly the grey spot shivers a bit and the arrow
is sucked inside.
Fremea frowns at the arrow being eaten or destroyed by the
grey spot on the flyer. But she is only about 30 feet from
the flyer's rear and fires her own elven bow at it. The arrow
with a blue hue around its arrowtip hits above the grey spot
even after it shivered and tried to eat it. But it must've
been too high. The arrow explodes into blue ice crystals and
freezes the rock around it. But a bunch of coral-rock like
pebbles fall off the rear as the flyer seems to have taken some
physical damage.
At the same time as Fremea and Ben'dar from the rear, Raban
lets his enhanced arrow fly at the flyer. He is only about 10
feet from the flyer and a bit lower in level. The arrow
immediately copies itself and six arrow flies at the flyer. One
is sucked into the forward grey spot. But five hit above the
grey spot. Two of the magical arrows hit but bounce off the
hard rock surface. Three do hit and chip minor chunks of rock
but not as great as Fremea's did. The three magical arrows do
some minor physical damage however.
Z'leyra raises her simple sling sad she had to leave her magical
sling back at the dark lands. She aims and fires her sling but
the projectile goes wild and to the left of the flyer missing
it entirely.
Arawn casts his levitation spell but he senses no magic
aura come about. Then he suddenly remembers a memory of his
master who told of these shadow warriors. So as long as one
is being controlled only shadow magic can be done. Since
levitation is not a shadow magic spell the spell automatically
fails. Arawn realizes this and curses privately. Turning his
head to the right he sends his powerful shadow warrior toward
the east Vong Warrior.
A skilled wagon driver, Kiet knows that driving one handed
even on a straight road at calm speeds is tricky. But doing
it on rough grass with a team going at full speed with one
hand is dangerous. he wishes Z'leyra would have reminds so
she could take the reigns. But he knows if the fire hits the
wagon that they could lose all their gear, wagon, himself,
Whitney and oh yeah Zhou too. He prays silently and grabs the
reigns with his left hand to try to control the wild team.
With his right hand he begins to gesture and speaks the spell
words to cast the spell which will take a bit of time.
Levitating over the barn roof Will casts a spell to make
him insubstantial. As he completes the process however his
body remains solid. It is only the fact that his own magical
defenses help to save from a bigger failure.
The flyer moves straight ahead right at Raban. It dips slightly
to the right then back up as a shark dives down and up to it's
prey. The impact is hard but the object is only going about 20
miles per hour. Still it is quite a severe blow. Only for the
large frame and body mass of Raban does it diminish the damage.
He takes a severe left rib cage blow enough to take damage
but not enough to wind him or crack ribs. Lucky for Raban
the bow in his hand isn't broken. Raban can feel his left boot
dangle below near the grey spot and a pull is felt. Raban
realizes in horror if this thing eats him and the worm didn't
it would be ironic to die from stone-rock thing rather than
from a stone eating earth eater! But the force of the slam
throws Raban upwards. With his free hand Raban tries to grab
out to grab the stone antlers but it goes by so fast and rough
Raban doesn't even come close. Raban is thrown up over the
top rear of the flyer and then tossed by the friction to the
rear. The flyer continues south-west and flies over Whitney
only about 8 feet up. If it could have fired it would most
certainly have. Kiet watches and ducks as it passes over and
flies over the party members riding in front of the wagon.
Kiet feels relieved that it must have limited firing ability
but likely will be able to fire next pass.
Tef'wo takes Ben'dar forward toward the party south-west.
Raban tries to recover from slamming into the flyer. the
force, direction and drag forced by the flyer causes Raban
to dive toward the ground. Tumbling he tries to recover but
his flight is so fast he skids on the ground and his left
arm takes 2 points of damage as skin is shredded in the grass
swipe. Raban rolls and then gets to his knees and feet in one
swift graceful move. He growls now upset that his elbow is
dirty. he takes a running leap and flies to the air going
after the flyer.
Caladan, Chion, Unali, Strie'bog and Farseeker ride their
horses still toward the barn. They all glance up and duck
instinctively as the flyer passes some of them only about 10
feet off the ground.
Fremea gives chase as well and flies toward the flyer.
Above the barn the Vong Swarm buzzes and gets louder for
some reason. Then they seem to lurch forward toward Will
and surround his invisible form. They begin to home and circle
in around him closing the gap. Of the swarm 42 bugs begin to
nibble at Will as they find his body. The other part of the
swam doesn't seem to find him thank the gods. As the
small insects pelt all around Will's body they bore into skin
and his leather armor. Of the 42 insects 11 actually get through
and do 1 point of damage per for minor bite wounds but the
damage is devastating to him.
Arawn glances up to see the view of the swarm move away from
his view. He isn't sure if the insubstantial or his mana shield
might have saved him. But he wonders where the swarm suddenly
went to?
The Vong who fired the "ball" that formed the swarm looks
up as he watches the Swarm. It surrounds Will and begins to
pelt the invisible human. The Vong gives a lipless smile and
watches as they do their work.
The Vong under Will and closest to him stops swinging his Staff.
Standing up now he glances to the east and watches the party.
The Vong on the second floor move toward Arawn and the other
one moves toward the black-gray form of the shadow warrior.
The Shadow Warrior slinks toward the eastern Vong warrior
on the second floor. It silently swings at the Vong but
fails to make contact.
Will tries to swipe at the insects and growls and curses to
himself as the spell failed he wouldn't be in this situation. He
tries to grab and throw some of the insects away. As he grabs
a couple he notices they aren't moving in his cupped hands. In
his wild swings he kills a few of them.
Whitney yells at Kiet, "Move!" But Kiet shakes his head a bit
too late to warn him now!
The wagon moves forward passing to the left of the flyer.

Kiet finishes his mana allocation for his spell.
Whitney begins to finish his own spell energy gathering.
Will knows he must cast this spell or he will likely die
from the swarm and no one will see it to help him in time. So
he quickly gathers more magical energy.
Z'leyra gathers some of her own magical energy for a spell.
Ben'dar aims his bow at the flyer but sees Chion is under
it and could be hit. There is too much a risk though the
big man could take a arrow as long as its not in his head.
Fremea has a better angle with height and fires her bow at
the side of the object. The arrow impacts near where Ben'dar
did the first drawing of its rock surface and made the small
hole. The shot is very good and does a massive 12 points to
the rock surface itself. But when the cold arrow impacts it
explodes into a massive additional 9 point freezing blast that
shreds and causes a bucket amount of pebbles and rocks to fall
off. Fremea can now see numerous holes in the side of the rock
going deep maybe a half dozen or so of them and cracks up and
down in various directions all around in a web like structure.
While Raban is back up in the air he is east of Fremea and the
flyer. From his angle he doesn't see the impact but he can
see numerous hand size to marble sized pebbles fall of the flyer
and a flash of blue as something hits the side of the flyer. He
draws his own bow and aims but he realizes he could hit
Caladan with 6 arrows and likely kill him. He grumbles and
does not fire due to the risk.
Whitney casts his paralysis spell upon the Flyer. But he
forgets the warning Kiet and others told him of the high
magic resistance. As he stares at the flyer his vision suddenly
blacks out and he becomes blinded as the spell fails very badly.
Levitating Z'leyra casts Luck upon herself and feels a tad
lucky as a bee misses her cheek by a inch as it flies past her.
Will recasts his spell to save his life. He is thankful to
find his body loses immediate mass and solid form.
Kiet turns in his seat and leans to the right a bit to point
his hand and gestures at the Flyer. He knows if he fails here
he will likely die. He casts his smokeless flame upon the flyer
and suddenly all around the skin of the flyer a fire bursts. It
ranges across the flyer. The grey spots on both ends take and
engulf much of the fire. But the damage is so severe it does
over 36 points of damage to the skin. The already heavily
damaged left side thanks to Ben'dar and Fremea crumbles completely
and explodes outward. Large gaps and holes form in the front
where Raban damaged it. Then Kiet watches in horror as he realizes
the flyer is almost over Chion and Caladan. If it decides to
crash it could hit them. But instead the flyer tumbles upward and
then almost straight up. As if a giant lumbering drunk it then
veers right to the north east and slams onto the ground. The
forward gray spot slams into the ground. The flyer remains at
about 45 degrees with its rear to the south-east. It then begins
to tilt under its weight and slams its rear onto the ground. Flames
continue to rage and seem to melt much of the rock into slag. Fremea
sees holes the size of bowling balls in the front. From the
east Raban can see the left side now facing the east is open and
shows a empty structure inside. The hole on the left is about 4
feet by 4 feet. Caladan is pelted as it impacts on the ground
with hot scolding pebbles but his quilted and leather armor
helps to protect him. But his horse takes a minor few points
of bruises. Kiet grins that the many archers and spell casters
couldn't take it down but after almost a full minute the
driver of the wagon takes it down.
Tef'wo rides forward and ends up about 40 feet from where
the flyer crashed onto the ground.
Raban flies forward and with a skid of dirt that slams into
the side of the flyer he lands onto the ground a couple of feet
from the open side. He peers inside but he sun is to his right
and above and blinds him a bit. It may take a second or two to
adjust to the light of the dark interior.
Fremea flies forward and lands to the other side of the flyer.
She notices that side is virtually 100% in tact but the fire
damage is severe.
The Vong Swarm dives through and by Will but as he has no
mass does no damage.
The Vong on the roof watch the swarm but the other one watches
the flyer crash. He turns and barks orders to the second one
in a language Will has no idea what he is saying.
On the second floor the west Vong charges Arawn and swings his
amphistaff at the Alfar but it completely goes through him as
he has no mass. The eastern Vong swings on the shadow warrior
but fails to hit it by a half inch.
Z'leyra flies via levitation toward the Flyer. She moves
slightly south to an angle to watch the flyer.
The Shadow warrior claws again at the Vong but fails to hit.
Kiet turns around in his seat and takes the other reigns
into both hands.
Will slowly levitates upwards away from the swarm below him.
Whitney claws at his eyes, "I can't see!" He yells out.
Zhou glances out the window to the rear to the dust cloud that
was once the flying UFO. He raises an eyebrow. "About time!"
Actions? Comments?
Next Update...Monday...
GM: Congrats on the downing of the craft. OF course it could
still try to take off. But at this time it is down. It
was a good team effort lasting about a minute?
GM: Bottom Map. Shows current locations but will shift it over
to center things in next update (ie move ufo to the right
and shift all things so you guys have a perspective).
Caladan and Farseeker are slowing and may remain to
help investigate the flyer. The flyer is facing north
so the flame antlers are that direction (top of map).
Ran out of time to clean up the bottom map so it should
do for now. I'll redo the "off map" section later.
But those on the map are accurate.
GM: Arawn - I read the shadow spell again and can't do any other
magic while controlling the warrior. I figured you
didn't want to give up the warrior so it failed. :<
Fremea - I put you on the other side but if you want to
be with Raban on same side that's fine. Figures you
would wand to be on the ground? BTW you notice
the blue hue of the Cold arrow spell has ended.
Kell - You sort of hear an impact far behind you but
don't see it as its far behind you. You do notice
the Vong on the roof and the swarm cloud or
something?
Kiet - So if that failed you'd have 36 damage if it back
fired? hmm...nice risk.
Raban - Got real lucky on the crash. I rolled well. I
figured a landing was ok? The height of the flyer
is only about 5 feet or so. It might be taller
inside but its hard to tell the thickness of the
rock. So you may have to duck if you enter. The
multi arrow spell will end next phase. So only
one more shot.
Whitney - Did say to cast the paralysis spell before he left
too bad it was a bad failure. :<
Will - Sorry rolled real bad. Your MDV saved you from a aby.
I figured you would want to recast insub rather than
the teleport as planned. Sorry for the damage but
it was just bad dice. Blame Arawn for not wanting
to deal with the bugs!
