So with this device we can listen and learn a language with out ever having
to speak thus gaining the benefit of knowing it with out  having to grant
more power to the force or deity that created it?

I have always been a believer that being forewarned is forearmed and that
heaving knowlage especially if your opponent does not expect you to know it
is a significant advantage.

This as I said earlier would be an advantage even for a non mage but If I
remember correctly isn't a banishment spoken in the toung of the
supernatural force being banished more effective?
