     [Recap]

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra tries to stab/slice the bandit on the ground in the neck,
while telling her horse to buck off and trample the stranger
          /enemy.
        GM: Ack.

        From Whitney: [Re: Actions]
From the posts above, I gather that axe and bow are qually time
consuming to prep. IF Whitney has any sort of height in his spot
on the wagon rear, bow would likely be the best bet. Random
taargets are fine, although try and protect the horse to the
rear if it comes under threat. If he's too low, and with in
easy reach of someone on the ground, then axe and random/self
defense. And grab his shield if he has a chance.
GM: Ack. Well like I say it takes time to unhook ropes, stand
            and grab yes.

        From Kell: [Re: Actions]
Grunting and standing, Kell charges (if possible) the monk that
swung at him, impaling him through the neck.

After the four bandits close to Ben'Dar and Kell are dispatched,
he may mount his horse and ride back to help those in the wagon.
[Wait and see since there are only 2 phases next update.]
        GM: Ack.

        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
Ben'Dar, now fighting on foot, is no longer excited about the
fight. Instead, he is furious at the monks for using caltrops.
His tactics change slightly - he is now trying to knock the monks
out rather than kill them. He is planning to use the caltrops
after the battle ends to crucify any survivors to the nearest
          tree.
GM: Ack. Trees around here are scarce and dinky. :)

        From Fremea: [Re: Actions]
She will shot out the right side and shot the closest target
to her. She is not getting out just yet.
GM: Ack. Sadly due to time crunch I thought I had I did the
right not left side. It worked out well. As I type this
doing the second phase. Will correct it to the right
side but the targets are less easy to hit due to point
blank and risk of losing bow if they simply decide to
strike. :< So hope you like my attempt. :)

     [New Stuff]

         [Julis 8th, 1634TH]
         [Location: Jiuquo, Katai]
[Location: 14 miles west of Jinquo]
         [Weather: Partly Cloudy, Temperature: 66-83]

         [Time: 5:08:03pm]

Standing on the rear plank of the wagon Whitney grabs his
bow. Right now no one is threatening him but he can do some
good with his bow. Many monks are in melee range of others
and too dangerous to fire on. But he grabs and arrow and loads
it. In the time it took to stand he did notice two targets
behind him one near Chion only 3 feet from him and another bandit
between Farseeker and Will at 10 feet from them. He chooses that
target since it has less danger of hitting party members. The
arrow hits monk #28 but goes low and hits him in the upper right
         leg doing a minor wound.

Arawn loads his Elven bow and aims it at the wagon to select
a target. his first target to the right of the wagon is good
but could hit the horses so he moves to the one monk to the
left side where the arrow will fly further on. He fires and
the arrow flies true and fast but fails to hit monk #7.

Strie'bog at the same time loads and fires his bow at the best
target one of the monks near Raban. The arrow flies fast and
true and hits monk #18 hitting him in the left side under his
arms bud doing only a minor wound.

Fremea loads her own Elven bow and then opens the window
curtain where she is sitting. She aims quickly at Monk #22
and fires. The arrow hits the man in the shoulder doing a heavy
         wound but he remains standing.

Tef'wo wounded is a battle veteran and as such knows pain is
part of it. This pain was minor compared to the damage he took
in the Vassa forest by the Vong sneak attack. That was
devastating this is annoying. But the wounds are on his most
sensitive body parts his forward hooves. Grunting he moves
to the side and notices the man who just got into melee attack
with Kell. While a trample might be bad he still has some
ability. He shoves with all his might with his right shoulder
and head. This catches the man off guard and he goes flying
forward past Kell into Kell's own horse. Hitting Kell's horse
the monk rocks back a foot and then collapses onto the ground
         onto his behind.

Other horses remain in place not having the initiative to
do anything but wait for orders. The draft horses wounded
continue to stomp the ground shifting their wounded forward
hooves off and on the ground.

Raban now holding the hapless monk who tried to lasso him
off his horse by both arms looks around. He notices there
are at least four others around him trying to gang up on him.
Aside from the startled monk he is holding the others seem not
the best least scared of the giant which seems odd. He growls
and then using his full force lifts up the monk up off the
ground and then over his head. The Monk begins to shake wildly
and mutter foul language. Raban then turns 90 degrees and hurls
the monk into the nearest set of monks. The monk (#18) he
throws toward Monk #20 and #24 hits monk #20 full force but
barely misses #24. Monk #18 slams into #20 and both men go
flying to the ground in a tumble of bodies. Monk #18 hits
with enough force he is knocked out instantly. Monk #20 takes
minor damage from the body but remains conscious.

Unali frustrated at being attacked knows sitting inside is
useless. She grabs both daggers and opens the left side door
and exits. Within half a second she finds a monk only 3 feet
away attacking Kiet's position. She charges forward and swings
her magical dagger but fails to hit. Knowing the amount of
enemy around she will hold the other dagger for defense.

Farseeker feints left and then lowers his arms and then thrusts
upwards at the monk #10 in front of him. His great sword impales
the guard doing a major wound just below his heart but the man
         still remains standing.

Ben'dar furious now wishes to take prisoners so they can feel
how their own devices feel on their feet, arms, eyes and other
sensitive areas. He charges Monk #1 and swings the shaft of
his spear at the man who tries to pull up his sword to block
but the shaft hits his right shoulder and ends at his neck. The
blow impacts the nerve in the neck enough to immediately knock
out the man and he collapses to the ground.

Chion turns to Monk #29 and stabs forward with his sword and
impales him in the lower left chest at no major organs but does
         a massive wound regardless.

Kell gets to his feet and sees his chance thanks to Tef'wo
stepping close to the monk he stands over the monk and raises
his spear and thrusts downward. Aiming for the center of the
chest at top the spear actually goes high and impales the monk
in the neck. Kell feels hot blood hit him on his arms as the
spear digs deep into the neck and crushes his throat. Before
Kell pulls out the sound of blood and crunching bone is heard
         and the man dies.

Z'leyra now with two attacking her one from ground and one
from her own stolen horse yells out in Marentian, "Gust!" She
speaks the name of the horse so it can identify her and also
that neighing it in a horse tongue is near impossible. Then
as roughly as she can even though her human vocal cords aren't
as good as a horses she neighs "Buck stranger!" At the same
time she thrusts her dagger down onto the man on the ground.
The dagger hits the man between the left shoulder and just
above the heart but does a severe hit to the monk who remains
         standing.

Monk #20 throws his dead weight friend off him and rolls
to the side gasping for air. He grabs his sword a foot away
but only staggers to his feet slowly dazed at Raban's attack.

Caladan turns to Monk #21 and swings his war staff hitting the
man in the right shoulder breaking some bones doing a massive
wound but the man remains standing.

Shu closes the door behind Unali not being an expert fighter.

Monk #6 just stabbed by Z'leyra thrusts in one last ditch
effort at Z'leyra and the short sword hits slicing down the
length of her right arm doing 5 points of damage.

Monk #21 swings at Caladan but fails to strike him.

Monk #12 thrusts at Kiet in his driver's seat but fails to
         strike by a half inch.

In reaction Kiet sets the wagon break and with his other
hand he grabs his dagger. He slides off and steps onto the
small step that helps drivers climb to their seat. But
instead of climbing off he steps back up onto the driver's
platform. Standing tall he bends his knees and spreads his
arms. Then with acrobatic ease he thrusts himself off the
wagon over the heads of the two bandits. With the grace of
an acrobat he lands in the dirt of the road with a puff of
dust. Standing he looks around to take in another view of
         the scene.

Monk #26 thrusts at the dismounted Will but fails to hit.

Monk #9 on Z'leyra's horse swings his sword at Z'leyra's head
but Gust seems to shift just slightly and the sword misses her.

Will thrusts his own sword at Monk #26 but fails to make any
contact with the one who just swung on him.

Monk #15 hits Caladan with his sword but does only a very
minor wound to him not even noticeable on his right arm.

Monk #7 charges Kiet and thrusts his sword but the agile
         acrobat fails to be hit.

Monk #11 now with his full weight to help pulls on the wagon
door and opens it. He enters the wagon half way in and says
         in Katai, "Surrender or die!"

Monk #29 swings his blade and hits Chion right into the
side of the head causing a wound on his ear and skull. But
it is then that Chion realizes the man is trying to knock him
out not kill him. But Chion grins when his thick skull does
little to cause him to lose consciousness.

Monk #30 tries to hit Farseeker but the warrior is just too
fast and the blade misses entirely.

Monk #8 thrusts at Chion but the large man is able to miss
the blade by a half inch.

Monk #17 swings on Caladan but fails to hit the barbarian.

Monk #23 swings at Chion and hits him in the left side of
the chest just below the ribs doing a minor wound.

At the same instant #23 attacks Monk #28 pulls the arrow from
his leg and throws it to the ground. He limps forward and charges
Farseeker. He thrusts but weakened he misses.

Monk #22 pulls the arrow out of his shoulder and remains in
place putting pressure on his wound to stop the bleeding but
raising his sword in case of another attack.

Monk #27 thrusts at Chion and hits in the lower right chest
         doing a minor wound.

Monk #13 helps his friend by leaning into the window and
opening the curtain. While the other threatens those inside
he looks mean to show his support for them to surrender.

Monk #24 swings at Will but fails to strike the woodsman.

Monk #3 suddenly sees his other three friends go down by
Ben'dar and Kell. He realizes he is outnumbered 2 to 1
and so decides his action quickly. In a nano second he
charges forward past the caltrops and leaps onto Kell's horse.
he turns the horse around ready to head off.

Monk #5 on the front right side of the wagon sees the right
side is well under control. Glancing to the left side he
seems to think it is going well. So he turns and decides to
         charge Strie'bog's horse.

Monk #14 turns to Unali now that Kiet is gone and swings
his sword at this female who dared attacked him. But his
sword goes wild and misses entirely.

Monk #16 thrusts his sword at Raban but the sudden
distraction of Kiet over his head, Unali appearing and
the giant throwing bodies around unnerves him. The sword
goes wild and misses the giant entirely.

Monk #19 slaps Caladan on the right arm and does a severe wound
and the final subdual damage to knock Caladan out. The
         wizard falls to the ground.

Zhou looks at the Monk who just opened the wagon door and
threatened him. He raises his arms in surprise and notices
that Caladan behind the Monk suddenly falls to the ground.
Not knowing how the battle goes around him he sighs. "Okay!
Just don't kill my daughter!" Then he glances over to Fremea
who is holding a bow in her hand looking tough. He sighs
at the thought of a innocent daughter using a bow. Then
turns back to the monk shrugs and gives a half grin.

                        ------------------------

         [Time: 5:08:06pm]

Whitney turns this time to Monk #22 which Fremea just
fired on as the only good target. Though near Raban, Whitney
knows an arrow wouldn't kill the giant. Though his anger
might kill Whitney. He aims and fires anyway and the arrow
hits the man in the in the middle right chest just below the
heart doing massive damage. The Monk who just pulled the arrow
out of his shoulder looks down and begins to speak a curse word
but can't as he falls down dead.

Arawn aims at Monk #5 charging Strie'bog and fires his arrow.
It is true and fast and this time hits the monk in the right
leg doing a massive severe wound. The man falls to his knees.

Strie'bog also draws and fires at the same Monk Arawn just did
and fires at the same time. The arrow hits the man in the left
shoulder doing a minor wound but is enough to finish off the
monk and he completes his fall to the ground dead.

Inside the wagon Fremea sighs at Zhou's comments. But she
wonders if it is a stall tactic? With back turned to the two
monks who are looking inside the wagon she silently reaches
down to her quiver on the floor. Glad that it isn't on her
back or it would be seen. She pulls an arrow and quickly
loads it onto the bow. Not knowing if the men have bows as
well she quickly spins around as if in shock. In that split
second she realizes they only have swords. She raises the
bow and fires at the man in the door at point blank range.
At the same time Zhou sees this and moves to stop her not
wanting blood in the wagon as it would be difficult to remove.
But amazingly the arrow misses the man in the door and passes
over his back as he leans in. The arrow flies out toward where
Caladan was just standing and hits Monk #19 in the lower right
chest doing a minor wound. Fremea shrugs and looks surprised
         that the arrow accidentally fired?

Kell's riding horse not being combat trained only resorts to
a new rider. She urges the horse around and rides fast toward
the wagon to join his friends.

Z'leyra's horse named Gust listens to his owner. Though he
is not a war horse he knows the basic instinct of bucking
a rider. To him it is assumed all are friends unless they
hurt him. But when Z'leyra mentions this rider on his back
is a stranger, he reacts. He immediately begins to walk a few
feet forward and away from the wagon. The rider spurs the
horse and tries to pull it back to no avail. Then suddenly the
horse begins to buck. The first two attempts fail. The
third is so forceful it throws the rider off the saddle and
his legs fall to the back of the horse. Holding for dear life
to the reins the horse whines in pain to the new pressures. Then
the horse rears up on his rear legs and man continues to slide
to the ground. The horse tries to a rear kick and the first
strike fails but the second hits the man forcing him to release
the ropes and the man falls to the ground.

Raban watches as Monk #20 gets to his feet dazed and shattered
by the fellow monk who just landed on him. As the Monk looks
down to check his body, Raban taps him on the shoulder. The
man looks up and sees Raban grin. then with his other hand
he reaches up and pounds down onto the top of the Monk's skull.
The man already damaged rolls his eyes up and collapses onto the
         ground yet again.

Unali hears the threat from inside and wonders if exiting
the wagon was smart. But she knows sitting around doing
nothing like Zhou won't get anywhere. She swings her dagger
again at Monk #14 but sadly fails to hit.

Farseeker turns and thrusts at Monk #30 and hits the man
in the middle of the chest doing massive damage to kill the
         man instantly.

Ben'dar sees the coward bandit ride off and yells a Fel'ora
roar. He rushes to Tef'wo and wonders if he is willing to be
rode or not. Tef'wo stares back at Ben'dar and just nods his
head as if reading Ben'dar's thoughts.

Kell runs a few feet after his horse but realizes he isn't
fast enough. Angry he turns to rejoin Ben'dar.

Z'leyra grins at her horse though not quite a graceful bucking
attempt at least he is off her horse as well as some of her
personal saddle gear though. Pulling her attention back to the
man on the ground she just hit seconds ago she stabs down again
at him. The dagger impales the man in the neck though a minor
wound is enough to finish off the man. He falls to the ground
dead as blood squirts all over the front of the wagon and
         onto Z'leyra's clothing.

Inside the wagon Shu has her dagger past her leg out of view
of those looking inside. She could try to attack one but the
other could easily attack in reaction. She glances over at
Zhou who seems to be stalling. She sees Fremea holding a now
empty bow and Unali gone. If she could take one out Fremea
might be able to fire in time before the other reacts. She
weighs her chances in a heartbeat that seems to take forever.
For the past few hours she has been quiet and sad of leaving
the sailor she liked on ship. She had wanted to sail more
with him but knew it might not happen. But on the trip she
did learn dagger fighting a bit from him even though she had
become good with her own master. She may not be as skilled
as Unali but she can defend herself though not a master of
any other weapon. She suddenly speaks up, "we surrender!"
She then quickly stands up as best she can and off the seat.
With the dagger in hand she turns as if to head to the door
but then pretends to stumble forward toward the man in the
door. Instead she shifts her body toward the window where
the other man is just outside the curtain. The man has his
chest to the wagon and sword tip just inside the window
frame. As she stumbles forward she pulls her dagger up and
outward. The dagger impales deep almost half to the hilt into
the man's left breast bone and piercing his left lung. Blood
sprays into the wagon and the man falls off the side step
that allows folks to stand up and then enter the wagon.
He falls to the ground dead before he hits the ground with
         her dagger still in him.

Monk #21 sees Caladan on the ground and rushes toward the
wagon to join his friend at the door. He comes to the rear
right side window and pulls the curtain back to stand just
like the other man was but on the opposite window.

Monk #12 sees Kiet flip over him and leave the driver's seat.
He climbs up the small step and hops onto the driver's seat.
With a loud shaking thud he sits onto the driver's seat. Then
with a grin he whirls his right hand with sword in hand toward
the side of Z'leyra's skull as she is looking down to the right
side. The sword smacks her just above her left ear and does
instantly a five point wound to her head. But that is the
least of the damage. With her previous arm cut and the subdual
damage just added she is knocked instantly out. The force
of the blow slams her into the back of the driver's platform
         and splayed out.

Kiet initially was hoping to get to the front blocking
group and move them and the caltrops. That would allow the
wagon to move. But when he hoped off this one monk suddenly
charged him. Glancing out in the distance he notices Ben'dar
and Kell half a mile away standing. It looks like one man
is on a horse riding this way. He sees Arawn and Strie'bog
on horses with bows ready. But now there are none in front
of the wagon blocking since their purpose is over. Sadly
he doesn't see Z'leyra knocked out as it is slightly out
of his side vision facing north west. If only he can get
to the front and move those objects the wagon can leave.
With only one obstacle in his way this man. He dodges and
weaves the man's fist but also tries a stab of his own with
his dagger. Kiet does a sidestep and gets to the right
side of the man and as he does the man twists and raises his
own sword to block but the dagger stabs the man in the left
arm doing a minor wound. But his true intent was done. Instead
of a killing blow the monk had to shift his feet and when the
stab came through he had to step back a bit. Now the monk
is only a couple feet away from the left front side of the wagon
where he left the wood of nails and caltrops, weapons that Kiet
         can use to his advantage.

Monk #26 continues to thrust at Will but fails to hit the
         man with sword and shield.

Monk #9 who just fell off Z'leyra's horse rolls to the
right away from the horse and then reaches for his sword.
dazed he gets to his knees and staggers to feet. He growls
         and turns to Z'leyra's horse.

Will tired of fighting just this one guy thrusts his own
bastard sword and stabs the man in the upper left chest doing
a massive wound. But the man remains standing.

Monk #15 charges forward and joins the other two at the wagon.
Stepping over the dead man Shu just killed this one joins
the front right window and opens the curtain standing on the
         side rail to look inside.

Having been just cut by Kiet and moved back, Monk #7 swings his
sword and hits Kiet in the right side of the neck doing minor
damage but lucky remains conscious. Only the acrobat's defense
keeps the blow from a much more severe one.

Monk #11 inside the right side wagon door leans in and swings
his sword at Shu wildly but fails to hit her body at all.

Monk #29 slices at Chion but fails to hit only cutting his
shirt sleeve but not touching skin.

Chion's luck holds yet again as Monk #8 swings at him but
the sword only cuts the side of his tunic missing skin by
         a very small distance.

Monk #17 leaves the fallen body of Caladan and rushes to
help his friends on Chion. he swings but fails to hit entirely.

Monk #23 stabs toward Chion and hits doing a minor wound
         in his left side ribs.

Monk #28 thrusts at Farseeker and hits in the lower right
abdomen below his ribs doing a minor wound.

Monk #27 thrusts at Chion but fails to hit.

Monk #10 thrusts at Farseeker but fails to hit him at all.

Monk #24 swings at Will but fails to hit as well

Monk #14 swings on Unali but she deftly blocks with her dagger
         and no contact is made.

Monk #16 swings and slices a very minor cut down the back of
         Raban barely noticeable by Raban.

Monk #19 runs to join his friends to finish surrounding
Chion and thrusts his sword hitting him in the rear left
kidney region of the back but doing a very light cut only.

Zhou not knowing still what is going on outside if all are
dead or the party is winning sits back in his seat. He
lowers his hands in frustration. Now that blood is in the
wagon it will be hard to get off if inspection is done. Hoping
that others can resolve this new turn of events he tries to
continue stalling. he asks the man in the door. "Is this
         a robbery or ransom?"

         Next Update...Monday...

GM: Ok. three phases complete. Some interesting turn of
events have happened. I had thought I'd be working Friday
so would need to get this done so worked on the first
phase Wednesday night and rest Thursday. Since 1st
took 3 hours and 2nd 3 hours. But looks like will be
not working due to a party Friday.

GM: Arawn - I don't see any good targets without maybe hitting
others at this point. So may want to help melee.
Would help to know Sunday night or as early as Monday
9pm. May work on some of it Sunday night if have
time but should have time for both phases Monday
                     after 9.

Ben'dar - Options I see are grab bow fire from ground.
Give chase on Tef'wo and take Kell with you
or go fetch his horse and return. Tef'wo would
be in pain if a chase happened but you feel he
would take it like a soldier would if required.

Fremea - Sorry. I got your email when the first phase
was done. At THAT time there was no good
target on the right side without hitting
Caladan. You could've tried point blank for
those at the windows but being close enough
to do so would've put your bow at risk of being
destroyed. So went to the other side and fired.
For the second phase switched to the right as
I did above. Hope it is satisfactory. It
was a gamble shot and sorta worked. :)

Kell - Horse stealing a serious crime! :) Simply too
fast to catch by foot. But he is only about
70-80 feet away. You could try to throw the
spear at him. Actually as I type this could've
done that above but the missile segment was
over so couldn't for the melee segment. But
if you throw it could hit the horse. Also
it is at the very edge of the spear range. Will
only have one chance to do so as once he
moves he is out of range. Missile before movement
so you could do it if wanted. It will take
him a few minutes to get to the wagon due to
half a mile away. If my math is right he might
get to the wagon at the end of the combat. :)

Kiet - For the second phase assumed you would defend
but might as well solve two problems by getting
the monk killed by the caltrops and then moving
them away if I assume your plan is that. If
it changes let me know a new plan.

Raban - Sorry couldn't help the Princess bride scene
"jog his memory". But it worked to get rid
                       of two of them.

Whitney - No good targets without hitting others. Though
could lean over the right side and fire at the
three along the right side of the wagon at
the windows and doors. Hope that no one
pops their head out. It will be point blank
range just about. Otherwise if melee let me know.

Z'leyra - Sorry! Rolled a 1 deadly hit and the damage was
so massive was an instant KO.

GM: Status - Players - Caladan, Z'leyra knocked out.
Tef'wo, Draft horses minor hoove damage.
Chion, Farseeker, Kiet, Raban - Minor wounds

Six surround Chion. Two on Will
Two on Farseeker Two on Raban
One on Kiet One on Unali
             Three against wagon

             Enemy - Knocked out - 3
                     Dead - 8
                     Alive -19
                     Wounded -11

So roughly 1/3rd of enemy out/down. Of those still standing
1/3rd are wounded and could be out by next update.
Remember if map messes up in email view it on the game
site. The sequence of movement above is pretty much the
order so you can plan moves that way. Of course if you
fire bows or something then you will move in that segment
             rather than melee.
