        From Kell: [Re: Actions]
          If Kell manages to ever wake up, and if he makes it to the deck
          before spotting intruders to web them he will use Spider Web.
          Kell will fight any mermen he sees below deck.

          If it is 15 mermen to 5 of us, he'll web.  15 mermen to 8 of us
          Kell will join the fight.  If there is an obvious group of mermen
          that he can spider web all at once, he will, then go kill them.
          If not, he'll just go fight.

          Ah, the sweet dreams. He's hopping around trying to make that
          big deal...Good thing he doesn't have to hop anywhere or up
          stairs.  :)

          Hast thou been pun-ishing us again?  I’d bet a hopper of frogs
          on it, or a school of fishes.  J
        GM: Ack. All these puns are making my dwarf employees upset
            as they are the jesters.  :<  But its fun. 

        From Raban: [Re: Actions]
          <Raban's choice of actions appear to be limited to what he is
          doing. The mist will make that more difficult and may force him
          to move. If he cannot fight then it may be a good time to cast a
          spell? Bless for Defense on himself or possibly Healing on the
          sailor if he was badly hurt? The bless could be cast for single
          day duration (I think that is an option), though not sure if
          Raban would think of that ;)

          <We will miss the pretty story format but its hard enough for
          you to track this many things.

          Will grabs just enough clothing to hold his Junk (ie daggers,
          quiver etc) in his hast to hop to it.

          OOC  Hopefully he does not injure himself with something sharp
          tucked in a loin cloth maybe a belt would be advisable.

          What is a hast??  He hast to hop to it?  A Hast-been?  J Judging
          by the lack of proper attire it may have to be a hast though no
          shame.

     [New Stuff]

        [Junaqa 24th, 1634TH]
        [Winds: Good, Speed 14]
        [Weather: Clear/Sunny, Fog]

        [Time: 3:55:15am]

          Arawn begins to concentrate and gather magical energy again.

          Fremea smiles at the five mermen all in one clump and fires
        toward them knowing it is too easy.  The first and third arrow
        hit but the other 3 fail to hit targets.  The first hits merman
        #12 and second #13 each for 5 points of damage in the upper
        right chest and middle right chest regions respectively.

          Corona dives toward the same group and another fire lance leaves
        his eyes.  But again the attack fails missing one by inches only.

          Squirt below perks up hearing the bells he started to rouse up.
        But now he feels the urge to drink more of that ale the sailor
        spilt in the messhall.  He jumps onto the bed and begins to
        walk over Kell to get him to open the door.  

          Raban turns to face Merman #8 and punches him hard into his
        ribs crushing ribs and breaking most of the others near it and
        forcing them into his lung.  The merman takes massive internal
        damage and falls dead. With his other hand he taps his chest three
        times.  

          Unali continues to dress in her black outfit. 

          Farseeker grips his great sword and heads out into the hall to
        head to the nearest ladder. He starts to ascend upwards at the
        ladder at N11. As he reaches the top he glances right then left and
        notices there are four merman there in both directions.  Two are
        to his left and two to his right.  He knows four could overwhelm
        him and fighting on a ladder one handed is suicide.  He slips down
        a bit hoping he hasn't been seen and waits for the two on the left
        to continue down the hall.  

          Chion soon follows out the door and belts one Sai and heads toward
        the nearest ladder.  He gets to the same ladder that Farseeker is
        on but can't climb it due to him blocking it.  Farseeker signs
        "four" and mouths the words intruders to Chion below. 
      
          Ben'dar soon follows out into the hall and joins the other 2 in
       the hallway.  But soon takes the north ladder [H11] and climbs it
       fast.  As he does he doesn't take the time to look and when he
       lands onto the deck he stares at one merman 8 feet away [D11] near
       the crew quarters.  He draws his spear and gets in a battle crouch.
       As he does he doesn't notice the other 4 behind him at 8 and 14
       feet at the other ladder area.  

          Arawn points the sailor next to him in Raban's general direction.
        He pushes him then states "Go!"

          With claws on his chest Kell wakes up.  Kell doesn't know of
        the bell yet but can tell Squirt needs out to relieve himself or
        in need of a rat chase.  Kell wipes his eyes and sits up in
        bed and pushes Squirt away who rushes to the door.  Kell stands
        slowly and heads toward the door. 

          Z'leyra continues to grab gear.

          At hearing the First Mate banging a second ago on his wall the
        Captain wakes up.  He rouses up and yells.  "What is it?"

          First mate finishes dressing in pants and grabs his sword. "Alarm!
        Sounded like trouble!" He yells toward the wall where the Captain
        is on the other side.

          The Captain rolls out of bed onto his feet and grabs his sword.
        Slightly tipsy from last night he didn't undress so is already
        dressed having slept fast.  He heads toward the door.  

          Caladan continues to dress and then finally grabs his staff.

          Shu continues to sleep.

          Dressed Kiet places dagger in his belt and heads to the small
        stand nearby and grabs four rope lengths.  Then moves quickly to
        the door and enters the hallway.

          Will continues to dress and get roused up.

          Strie'bog continues to dress as well.

          As the first sailor in their berths get up they quickly wake up
        others.  Most already sleep in their work pants and simply grab
        their personal weapon either a dagger or sword.

          All sailors move at the same time with slightly varying speed
        depending on their arousal after sleep. Sailor #4 rushes to the
        door and opens it and bumps right into the merman a foot away.  He
        backs up and realizes this is no passenger and does a wild swing
        at the merman with his dagger.  The long blade slices through the
        man's chest doing 3 points of damage. Behind him the other sailors
        rush to help.  One yells, "intruders!"  Sailor #5 and #6 help their
        friend and attack the merman.  One misses but the other hits the
        merman doing 1 more point of damage.

          The four other sailors in the crew cabin leave and rush past the
        other three heading down the hall toward two other mermen they see.
        They pass to either side of Ben'dar in a blur.  One bangs on the
        door of the captain cabin and continues starboard side. 

          At the same time as the other sailors move below sailor #3 nods
        at Arawn.  He walks a few feet through the mist and waves his
        sword around as a guide.  As he exits the mist he spots Raban being
        attacked by two.  He charges toward merman #20 and thrusts at him
        with his sword doing 4 points of damage in his left arm.

          Now the merman react to their own attacks.  The 5 on top
        deck stare at the mist but notice movement to the far right. One
        waves a hand as two pull arrows out from their body.  Another
        raises a hand giving conflicting orders it seems.  One in the
        middle notices something in the distance and raises another
        hand to silence and stop the others.

          Merman #19 thrusts his trident at Raban using a under the arms
        thrust but fails to make contact.  Merman #20 turns to thrust
        his own trident at the sailor who just attacked him.  The trident
        slices through his lower right abdomen but does only
        minor 1 point damage.

          Merman #1 turns to Sailor #4 and thrusts his trident and does
        a heavy 10 point wound to the man's right shoulder from a upper
        thrust.  The sailor falls to the deck.

          At the same time Merman #2 and #3 turn to the sound of the
        sailors leaving their room and charge back to the four coming their
        way. Merman #2 engages #7 and #3 charges #9.  Merman #2 fails to
        hit but merman #3 hits sailor #9 the right shoulder doing 4 points
        of damage to the sailor.

          At the same time Merman #4 and #5 turn and charge the distance
        back down the hall to join their other two friends.  Merman #4
        thrusts at sailor #8 but fails to strike.  Merman #5 is blocked
        by his friends in the tiny hallway.

          Merman #6 and #9 moves quickly through the horse hold avoiding
        the sleeping mounts.  They don't kill any of them as don't feel
        they are a threat.  Seconds before they entered the hallway and
        headed forward toward the storerooms.  But when the sailors wake
        up they hear the fight.  Near the rigging column supports by the
        hold wall they turn and head back toward the stairs then left
        going aft to help their comrades out.  They get halfway down the
        hallway.

          Merman #16 and #17 don't hear the fighting and are between both
        storerooms on the hold deck forward area.  They enter the port
        side storeroom and quickly search it.  Finding no one there they
        exit back into the hallway.

          Merman #18 is in the starboard storeroom in the forward hold deck
        area.  He also explores the room but finds no one so exits out the
        aft door and heads down the starboard hallway back to the aft
        section of the ship.

          Silently like a shark in the deep Merman #21 climbs rung by
        rung of the ropes up the forward rigging.  With trident hooked
        to belt the large merman eyes the dark sky as he climbs.  He had
        seen someone up in the basket thing firing arrows down to two
        of his men and decided to climb it.  As the physically fit merman
        gets the crow's nest he listens and hears movement.  He unbelts his
        trident and stalks upward.  Using another rung of rope as footing
        he thrusts up and reaches with left arm up and over the edge of
        the basket. At the same time as he comes over the edge at shoulder
        level he thrusts his right hand with trident at Fremea.  Her ears
        do pick up the movement at the last instant.  She twirls around
        to react but is just a half second too late.  As she turns right
        with bow in hand the trident impales her on the right upper
        shoulder doing 7 points of damage past her magical armor.  The
        impact of the blow is so powerful it turns her completely around
        to have her facing the head and shoulders of the merman.  As she
        looks she detects a magical aura in the general direction of the
        attacker.  But the glance is only a half second as she loses her
        footing in the basket  and begins to fall backwards.  She doesn't
        notice the basket is being pushed back tilting it by his weight.
        Fremea begins to fall backwards out the basket toward the deck
        below.

          Two decks and 30 odd feet below, Whitney jumps out of bed naked
        and decides dressing isn't important.  Not sure what is going on
        he grabs his belt and places it around his bare waist.  Then grabs
        his axe and shield as he heads toward the door. 

          Zhou oblivious to the situation wipes his eyes to wake up.  He
        lights up the lantern on his bedside table to brighten the room.
        He wonders why he is so sleepy for it being morning.  He quickly
        figures out his day's agenda starting with some boot cleaning
        and clothes washing by Kiet and then maybe talking to Whitney.
        He stands up in his night clothes a simple silk pants and no shirt
        and walks to the door.  He opens it and looks out.  He notices
        Chion near one ladder looking up.  "Tell Kiet I'm ready for my
        morning tea!"



        [Time: 3:55:18am]

          Inside the concealing magical mist, Arawn speaks the words of
        the ancient sidh to enhance his magic.  As he does he pushes his
        magical concentration to completion and a spell activates literally
        from his mouth.  Instantly the mist on the deck disappears. But
        out from his mouth emits a loud sonic noise like a trumpet but
        slightly higher pitch.  The sound waves fly forward in a cone
        area toward the 5 merman on the raised rear.  The noise is
        a shock to those who don't expect it.  Merman #11, #13 and #14
        are hit by the sound waves.  The sonic disruption hits their body
        hard and shakes them doing 3, 5 and 6 points of damage to them with
        some of them already being wounded by arrows.  All three fall to the
        deck stunned but writhing from the assault.  Merman #12 and #15
        look down at their companions confused then turn to the noise maker
        of Arawn.  

          Corona circles back up and then completes another roll and dives
        toward the group of five mermen in the back of the ship.  A lance
        of fire energy fires from his eyes toward Merman #14 and impacts
        him in the right shoulder burning a deep hole doing 4 points of
        damage almost down to the bone.  The merman yells in pain but
        doesn't fall.

          Fremea feels dazed but feels gravity leave her.  Oddly as the
        pain in her shoulder seems to fade away a strange memory comes
        back to her.  All faerry like birds must learn to fly.  Even
        at a very age she can recall being on a tall tree and falling
        down - no pushed off a limb.  Who was that female Faerry near
        her who did that?  She can't recall but the image is hazy as
        if the memory is damaged or she was just too young to recall
        the details well.  She recalls falling to the ground and then
        suddenly instinct picked up and she was in the air.  A thrilling
        movement for sure.  Sure the flight was awkward figuring out
        balance and control but she did it.  As Fremea's mind flashes
        back to the present that same instinct kicks in.  She flaps her
        wings and rolls her body to the side.  All this happens in half
        a second and as she turns around she is only 4 feet off the deck.
        She flaps her wings hard and then skims the deck by 1 foot almost
        hitting a provision locker.  She gains speed and flies into the
        air.  As she does she reaches behind her to feel the wound while
        holding her bow in the other hand.  She curses at the ambush
        but the guy was obviously skilled in stealth.  She realizes then
        that some of her arrows also hit the deck from her quiver but
        some remained maybe a tenth fell out.  Still enough to work
        with.  As she gains height she regains her senses and examines
        the scene below.  Her shoulder aches from the pain but realizes
        she isn't dead but wounded.

          Squirt scratches the door and looks up at Kell waiting for him
        to open the door.

          Raban facing aft notices a form drop tot he deck and seem to
        skim the deck and go out of his side vision.  He realizes that
        it must be Fremea as she is the only one that can fly.  Unless
        it was Corona?  No he figures it was too large.  Anger boils
        through him and in the second it took to figure who it was
        he pulls back with a fist and punches Merman #19 right in the
        right center ribs just below where his heart should be.  Raban
        can hear ribs crack and pop.  As the force of the blow fueled
        by his anger releases the merman goes flying backwards off his
        feet 4 feet.  As he flies the lung is punctured by pieces of
        ribs but the merman is instantly killed by the 40 plus damage
        before the merman hits the deck.

          Unali continues to don her black clothing and then grabs her
        daggers.  she heads toward the door.

          Farseeker sees the merman rush toward the port side and climbs
        up the ladder onto the hold deck.  Drawing great sword he rushes
        right toward Merman #5, his sword slicing through back muscle and
        tissue doing 5 points of damage.

          Chion climbs up the ladder behind Farseeker and runs down the
        hall to join Farseeker.  He thrusts his sai at the back of Merman
        #3 doing 7 points to the right shoulder doing a deep wound.

          Ben'dar rushes to the port side and joins the other sailors
        attacking Merman #1.  He thrusts his spear but the merman is
        starting to know 4 against 1 is bad odds so starts to dodge
        and the spear misses the merman by half a inch.

          Arawn sees the effect of his spell upon the three mermen.  Then
        decides to run toward Raban.  As he does he notices Raban is
        not engaged and only the sailor Arawn was with is fighting the
        last merman it seems standing.  As Arawn gets closer he turns
        knowing the two could handle the last one.  He looks for the
        down sailor and finds him face down on the hold ramp.  His feet
        are going forward and head aft at the awful angle of the ramp.
        Arawn quickly checks the body and finds a lot of blood on the
        ramp but it appears to be a stab wound to the chest.  Figuring
        and hoping no spinal damage he gently rolls the body over to
        get a better look.  As he does he notices the man's eyes are
        closed but a check of his pulse indicates he is still alive.
        His wound made by three sharp points is where his stomach is
        and deep.  It continues to pour blood.  Arawn knows Z'leyra
        is better at these things but he has been spending time with
        her over the last few weeks.  He judges him to be in heavy
        damage but not critical so far.  But that could change in
        just a few seconds.  

          Kell hears the odd trumpet noise and wonders which entertainer
        is playing music this early in the morning.  Then he realizes
        that no one has such a instrument as far as he knows.  He opens
        the door to let Squirt out and glances into the dark hallway.
        Hearing metal clinks and feet shuffling in the directions of the
        ladders and upper deck, Kell finally realizes something is up.
        He closes the door and heads for his weapons and armor.  

          Z'leyra in her night gown grabs her great sword and pullts it
        out of sheath.  Then dons her helmet and grabs her staff.  

          The Captain opens his cabin door with sword in hand and is
        immediately halted by the sight of four merman right outside
        his door.  He thrusts his sword at the surrounded merman and
        slices through the merman's right arm and into his right side
        doing 5 points in total to arm and ribs.  

          The First Mate also exists his cabin and glances right seeing
        four sailors attacking four muscular shirtless human looking
        people.  To his left he sees three other sailors and Ben'dar
        fighting another.  But the cramped hallway is too narrow to
        get any other room for him to help out so he just stands and
        waits for a chance to move into position.

          Caladan exits his cabin and heads up the ladder hearing the
        strange noise top side.  Reaching the hold deck he suddenly notices
        two mermen nearby in the forward hall between the storerooms.
        EH charges Merman #16 who only has a dagger and swings his war
        staff hitting him in the right shoulder for a bone cracking 5
        points of damage.

          Shu bolts up in bed when she hears the noise.  Confused
        she climbs out of bed and grabs a robe.  She heads to the
        door to see what is going on.

          Kiet hears the strange noise two decks up but it is muffled
        he knows something is wrong.  He can hear the muffled grunts
        and clinks of metal as he nears the aft side ladders.  As he
        gets to the first he drops one rope segment.  As he gets to
        the starboard rear ladder he drops another.  Then he runs back
        to port side and waits around the corner.  He knows the other
        ladder is harder to get to in this section.  He waits and pulls
        out his dagger ready in case some enemy comes below.  

          Will finishes dressing and grabs his bow and arrows along with
        his dagger.  

          Strie'bog gets his pants on and grabs his axe, bow and arrows
        and heads to the door.

          Now the sailors all move as one unit.

          Sailor #3 thrusts at Merman #20 but misses by a half inch.
        Sailor #4 thrusts at Merman #1 and hits in the lower right
        back for 2 points.  Sailor #5 and #6 also thrust their sword and
        dagger at the same time as #3.  Sailor #4 hits for 5 more points
        in the right side of the merman just above his hip.  Sailor #6
        fails to make contact with his dagger.

          Sailor #7 thrusts his dagger at Merman #2 but fails to make any
        contact.  Sailor #8 thrusts sword at Merman #4 but fails to hit the
        man as he ducks just in time.  Sailor #9 thrusts his dagger at
        Merman #3 but fails to hit as well as the merman shifts just in
        time to miss the blade.

          Sailor #10 waits for his chance to act in the blocked hallway.

          Now the merman act at the same time.  

          Merman #1 thrusts his trident at the one he feels the most
        threat from, Ben'dar but fails to hit the barbarian.

          Merman #2 turns away from the sailor in front of him to stand
        facing the Captain.  he thrusts his trident straight up and impales
        the captain in the upper right chest and shoulder doing 10 points
        of damage.

          Merman #3 at the same time turns around to stab toward Chion's
        large form but his dagger fails to hit the fast moving man.

          Merman #4 thrusts his trident at Sailor #8 and stabs deeply
        into the man's upper left chest doing 5 points of damage.  

          Merman #5 tries to kick Chion up against the fall wall but
        his leg fails to hit as he does this he throws the small net
        on his back toward the nimble man to capture him but the net
        slams behind Chion against the wall missing entirely.

          Merman #6 and #9 run down the port side hall to join their
        pal Merman #1 in the fight.  Merman #9 misses with his dagger
        at Sailor #6 but Merman #6 does hit with his trident on Sailor
        #6 doing 6 points of damage in the center left chest doing a
        deep wound.  The sailor drops to the deck not moving. 

          Top side Merman #12 who is already hurt nods forward and
        tells Merman #15 to go and kill as he protects his stunned
        friends.  With dagger in hand Merman #15 runs down the two
        steps and forward toward Raban's general direction.

          Merman #16 stabs forward with his dagger and hits Caladan
        in the mid left chest just under the arm points doing a painful
        6 points of damage to the man.  Merman #17 blocked by #16 waits
        for his chance to attack in the tiny hall.

          Merman #18 rounds the starboard hallway's corner and charges
        toward Farseeker's rear.  With Trident raised, Farseeker hears
        the movement and weaves just in time to miss a backstab.

          At the same time Merman #20 glances to his left and sees
        Raban finish off another of his friends.  Now alone he glances
        right and sees one merman from the rear finally come to help
        him.  He knows he can't take the giant but if he can even
        the odds and kill the sailor two on one is better odds even
        for a giant.  he thrusts his trident at Sailor #3 and hits
        his left arm as the three blends grind deep into his upper arm
        they hit bone and crack it doing 7 points to the one arm.  The
        sailor gives a yell of pain.

          Merman #21 seeing Fremea exit the crows nest with his help
        climbs nimbly over the rim and stands up with trident in hand.
        he glances over the edge to see a quick tactical situation and
        notices no Fremea.  He then glances up at the night sky for her.

          Whitney leaves his cabin and climbs the forward ladder up.  As
        he gets to the hold deck he notices Caladan fighting one Merman
        and another one is behind him.  Whitney glances left down the
        hallway to the brig/stairs and sees no other enemy.  But upon
        seeing the Merman and Caladan fighting it must indicate a boarding
        party.  The cramped forward corridor between the two storerooms
        is just too tight for 2 men to stand side by side.  It would
        require Caladan moving away to fight so Whitney waits for
        his chance to help out.

          Zhou steps outside his cabin a foot in the dim hallway and
        notice a nude man exit one cabin nearby and run to the ladder.
        Zhou gets a full view of Whitney in his glory as he climbs the
        ladder trying to carry a shield and axe as he climbs.  Zhou
        shakes his head?  "Someone must be drinking again," he thinks
        to himself.  Shrugging he then realizes that loud noise a second
        or two ago was rather odd.  His slow to wake brain finally
        makes the connection and a red flag finally is raised.  Zhou
        rushes into his room and closes the door.  Heart pounding he
        wonders what to do now.

        Actions? Comments?

        Next Update...Friday...next 2 phases...

        GM: I made folks dress at least pants and quick shirt for some.
            Not knowing the exact danger most would just dress first
            by common sense.  Unless stated otherwise.  I don't know
            who sleeps in gowns, nothing or full clothes.  So I have
            to assume needs dressing.

        GM: Language file updates.  Only TWO slots left.  Get them
            while they last!  Deadline is 9/1/09. 

        GM: Delay was due to storms and time.  But its finally out.
            I may have yet another new player.  I know our group is
            already rather large.  I would ask for a vote to see
            if you guys want to open the game.  I feel bad to say
            no as I personally would feel bad if I couldn't play
            in a game like this.  But if there is someone who does
            NOT want to have a new player let me know in the list
            or private email (so can not be seen).  Don't have to
            vote yes just let me know if no.  So I can get a feel for
            the group.

        GM: Final notes.

            In case the map is confusing to read. 

            Arawn - Your on the ramp.  Not on map.  Your over the wounded
                    sailor.  No armor.  No weapons.

            Ben'dar-Your in the hallway hold deck with spear, no armor.
                    Your facing 3 Merman and have First mate and two
                    sailor allies nearby with 1 sailor on deck.

            Chion  -Hold deck, left side hallway.  No armor, Sais.
                    Your fighting four mermen with another nearby for 5
                    in the immediate area.  You have Farseeker, 4 sailors
                    and the Captain nearby.

            Fremea -Still have bow/Arrows.  Wounded though.  Your spell
                    is still active for another 4-5 phases. Your in mid
                    air over the deck port side.  See map for position.

            Kell   - Waking up late your now getting active.  If you
                     get dressed in at least pants let me know.  I
                     don't know how you sleep.  It may be 1-2 phases
                     more before you exit the cabin though due to delay.

            Kiet   - No armor, daggers, ropes.  So far the Merman haven't
                     had time to simply go down to the cabin level. At
                     least two ropes are in place to the aft side
                     ladders. Any change of plans?

            Raban  - Armor. Dagger is still in one merman.  There is
                     still one merman next to you and one coming up.
                     With four others in the rear of ship.  Arawn is
                     over the downed sailor.  If you cast bless or
                     healing let me know.  But Arawn plans to maybe
                     heal as well.

            Unali  - Due to dressing took time.  Been only 18 seconds
                     or so but you will leave the cabin next phase.
                     I've randomized your cabin and you will be nearest
                     the ladder forward.  

            Whitney- As requested only one who didn't wear clothes.
                     No armor but has axe/shield.  You will need to
                     have Caladan move or die before you can act in
                     this area.  Otherwise you can move to the stairs
                     to go up top side or help the others in the aft
                     hallway.

            Will    -Should leave next phase your cabin.  Your nearest
                     ladder is H11.  But you could try the one on the
                     starboard side N11.  Assuming you go up to join fight.

            Z'leyra -Still gathering gear.  Should leave in 1-2 phases.
                     You will be nearest the aft starboard ladder [M10].
                     But you'll be in the midst of enemy one right
                     there at the ladder.

        GM: I hope all the map data is correct.  One reason I delayed
            this is my staff goofed and I had 2 phantom Merman walking
            about.  So had to go and backtrack.  But all should be good.
            Will work on update a bit Wednesday night if get enough actions.
            As always look at map on website if it messes up in email.
