     [Recap]

        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
Ben'Dar frowns at the idea of having a spell cast on him. He
shakes his head and in his usual brusque manner says, "If the
creature will talk, fine, if not, we kill it. It has seen us and
it would not be wise to leave it to ambush us later."

Ben'Dar mutters irritably at being left behind by the
spellcasters. It isn't in his nature to stand back while others
charge the enemy. He shakes his head angrily and charges through
the mist toward where he last saw the chimera. He forgoes his
usual battle cry so that the chimera will not hear him coming.
        GM: Ack.

                             --------------------

        From Raban: [Re: Actions]
<Rabans actions here can only be reactions to the creature getting
close since he cant see. So the usual, grab or punch, since they
said it was not intelligent capture should not be an issue. Did
you want a post relative to doing the blessing? You have moved
past it and implied it was already done, note bless is always at
max El and would have been for DCV boost in this case. >

<Computer is almost back to full operation finally, power supply
also failed which was odd. I wonder if its related to the other
          failures.>
GM: Ack. Glad computer is working again.

                             --------------------

        From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
OOC: Sorry about the confusion. I forgot about Z'leyra's action
and only remembered Bend'dar and Caladan mention Arawn moving
ahead so went with that. Apologies for not posting earlier. For
now, as we've already moved things forward, I say fight:-)

As for Sensory Powers, thanks for not casting them. I didn't
know that we could still see the creature through the mist but it
          all works out.

Arawn, realizing the potential danger the creature's poison
represents decides to forgo melee in lieu of a spell, as things
could go poorly if the two party members capable of dealing with
          poison went down together.

Phase 1: Arawn will cast Dispersion at EL 2.
Phase 2: A) If the Chimaera looks badly wounded Arawn will move
in, invisibly, and strike at the creature. B) If it is still
looking healthy and someone is in trouble Arawn will help them.
          C) If the creature looks healthy and no one is in trouble Arawn
will cast Fist of Battle on himself, using the Tongue of Morrigan,
and move in to attack the creature invisibly and, hopefully,
flanking it. Weapon EL will be offensive.
GM: Ack. No problem on the confusion. It happens on both sides. :)
Sometimes the best laid plans don't always work in these
fast combats in terms of the bigger picture events then those
            plans can be made.

                             --------------------

        From Fremea: [Re: Actions]
Fremea will cast Cold Arrow (EL 0) at the creature (if she can
see the goat head, she will go for that), moving in a little
closer. She will also put her bow away.
GM: Ack. Just noticed the last line. Fire arrow but put bow away? :)

                             --------------------

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
Z'leyra continues fighting the Chimeara. Using her greatsword
offensively she relies upon her clairvoyance, armor and magic
items to keep her safe as she continues to attack the body,
          hoping to finish it quickly.

While attacking the chimeara, Z'leyra will circle around the beast
so that if it uses it's breathe weapon against her the other
members of the party will not be struck by the breathe weapon.
        GM: Ack.

                             --------------------

        From Chion: [Re: Actions]
          ...fools rush in...?

Chion will hang back a little bit and use his sai defensively,
hopeful to block any wild swings n such. First the terror, now his
vision being affected by magic... he's starting to not like this.
        GM: Ack.

                             --------------------

        From Raban: [Re: Actions]
<backtime post: I believe the bless (el3) was for DCV, small but
significant boost. Pretty sure the previous blesses have expired?>
[Raban reaches deep within his heart for his connection to his
Goddess and feels the warmth spread. This is the proper use of
such power, to directly help others and not yourself.

Raban (to Frema): "Open yourself to receive the Glory of Miryan,
so that she can Bless you using my hands..."

<Cast max el, repeat if required and time allows.>
GM: Ack. Yes your DCV blessing is still active till tomorrow
            [Ma 3].

     -----------------------------------------------------------------
     [New Stuff]

        [Ma 2nd, 1633TH. 5th Day of Adventure #4.
[Location: Chaos domain, Dark Lands, 9 Miles up, Flying Island]

        [Time: 9:45am]

[After the combat with the Beasts and before the Chimeara attack...]

[Raban offers to Bless Fremea to aid her in her future actions. The
towering giant stands over the short faerry like a distorted view
of parent-child to outsiders. He begins to lean down to get
closer to the small Sidh. He speaks to her about his intent.]

Raban: "Open yourself to receive the Glory of Miryan, so that she
can Bless you using my hands..."

[Raban's large gauntleted arms stretch out like tree limbs toward
Fremea. A flash of memory hits Fremea as she recalls being beat
by a slave-master long ago. Instinctively she reflexes back
a step and raises a hand while the other to her dagger. In years
past she was so beat down and trained that even touch would cause
her only emotionless attention and no reaction. Now that she is
free her instincts for self-preservation comes forward. Raban
sees the defensive measure and slinks back slightly. A frown
comes to his face and he stops his movement. Fremea realizes
what she does and lowers her hand from the dagger in her belt and
the other arm down. She looks up at the handsome human in the
mists and gives a somewhat forced smile and nods. Raban looks
back concerned but ponders if he should respond verbally. With
delicate touch he places one hand on her shoulder. Fremea wonders
how such a large man could touch so softly without bruising the
simple being like herself. This bard seems to have learned how
to touch women well. Raban concentrates and begins to feel the
power of his goddess flow through him as if satisfied by his new
path. Magical energy flows from him and into Fremea. She notices
the soft blue aura around her she figures to be his blessing and
nods back to the tall man in thanks.]

GM: I don't recall seeing disagreement from Fremea on taking the
            blessing so did it.

                        -----------------------

        [Time: 9:50am]

[Seconds before Z'leyra charges and the combat begins...]

[Ben'dar frowns at the thought of being used as a spell target
without some thought before hand. But he finds himself relieved
when Arawn disappears and forgets to cast the spell on him or touch
him. Of course since Ben'dar was going to guard Arawn it makes
things a bit difficult. At the thought of talking to the wild
         creature he shakes his head.]

Ben'dar: "If the creature will talk, fine, if not, we kill it. It
has seen us and it would not be wise to leave it to ambush us
          later."

[Then foot-dust is seen in the mists in front of Ben'dar as Arawn
charges after Z'leyra. He grumbles and mutters irritably at being
left behind by the two spellcasters. It is not his nature to stand
by and let others fight for him. But Z'leyra did request she guard
the others. She wouldn't have said such a thing without worrying
about his safety along with the others. Torn between protecting
Arawn and the others like Caladan, Ben'dar runs forward without
a battle cry, toward the position of the creature.]

        [Presently...]

        [Turn 1: Phase 4]

[Fremea allocates energy through her right hand on for a cold arrow
         spell to be used.]

[Arawn collects energy for a priestly spell.]

[Fremea grabs an arrow from her quiver and readies it in her
bow and aims at the creature below.]

[Fremea casts her spell onto the arrow and sees the blue energy
upon it and fires at the goat head and hits the neck of the goat
head. The arrow penetrates deep into the flesh doing 9 points
just from the arrow. On impact the cold energy splashes onto the
goat head and does an additional 6 points of damage by the cold
energy. The blue cold rakes up the goat head and almost freezes
it completely sending up cold wafts of steam into the air. The
goat head gives a roar of pain in a freaky goat howl. Fremea
smiles to herself knowing that last time the spell failed.]

[Arawn being able to see the creature some distance off in the
normal mists through its body shape and shadows looks upon it with
contempt for trying to hill him. His Sidh nature allows him to
ignore the concealing mist all together. He speaks the dispersion
priestly words and raises both arms toward it. The brown energy
of the spell shoots from his hand and hits the creature in
a blur of energy. Brown energy that only Fremea and Arawn can
see spikes send sparkles like electricity against the creature's
snake head, frozen goat head, lion head and body. The creature
twitches to the damage to his body and energy life force and
then collapses to the ground, without a sound.]

[Z'leyra frowns at the collapsed creature and hesitates for a
second. She finds it dazed but still breathing from its lion head.
Pausing in case its a trap she circles around to the front of the
creature with ease. Then with one final blow she bashed the
creature with the flat edge of her sword (so not to taint it) and
crushes the neck bone of the primary head. The creature stops
breathing dead. She sighs not even able to use her new sword for
more than one hit. She saw the cold magic blue wave hit and the
arrow but that surely didn't kill it. She wonders what else
happened but pays it little mind.]

[Z'leyra double checks the beast to ensure its dead then calls to
         the others to tell them.]

Caladan: "That's nice. All I see is mist. Couldn't let us lowly
barbarians see the fun huh?" [In a tone of jest]

[In the 21 seconds it took to spot the creature flying over it
only took 12 to kill it, a fast battle for such a beast. But
         the team did well together.]

[Fremea lands near the party as they exit back into the normal
clouds/mist to see. Z'leyra stands near the beast knowing that
her spell could last for a good 5-6 more minutes and making
         movement for the party difficult.]

[The party checks in with each other to verify all are safe.
But Corona doesn't acknowledge Z'leyra's call. Panic begins
to creep into her as she can't seem to see or hear Corona.]

                --------------------------------------

[Meanwhile 9 miles down in the forest...]

[A being flies through the trees south toward a clearing where
a lone man and many horses are. It lands on a tree limb and
         stares into the clearing.]

[Sven twirls his battle axe in a morning exercise that all have
seen several times. The axe twirls so fast it is almost a blur
to the naked eye. Hands and arms deftly toss the axe up, down
side to side and hand to hand. A practice some of the party
recall Farseeker doing with his great sword that builds up arm
         muscles and hand-eye coordination.]

[The being turns to the large and centuries old tree. Suddenly
a tap-tap-tap is heard in the quiet forest. Sven jumps up a few
inches and the axe flies from his left hand toward his right
into the bushes 7 feet away. Sven turns around and looks up
to see a red-breasted woodpecker in the tree. Sven sighs and
goes to collect his axe. Tef'wo snorts as if laughing at the man.]

Sven: "Don't you dare say anything."

[He stops in mid-step shaking his head. It has come to talking to
horses like that Z'leyra did. He continues toward his axe
and exhales from his intense work out. He thinks of all the fun
the party must be having while he is down here watching the horses
         like some servant.]

Sven: "Should be that acrobat fellow." [He grumbles under his
          breath in frustration.]

[As he leans down to pick up the axe a thunderclap is heard in the
         distance indicating a storm approaching.]

Sven: "Sounds like a storm coming. Better get this camp a bit
           more organized."

[He heads toward the horses and shoulders sheathes his axe. He
begins to secure ropes and ensure the horses are safe.]

                --------------------------------------

[Meanwhile 9 miles up in the clouds....]

[Z'leyra continues to speak loudly rather than yelling, so not to
draw more attention, for Corona. Seconds pass that seems like
an eternity. Then a familiar squawk is heard in the mists and
Corona lands near Z'leyra. He indicates he has found a solid
wall to a structure. It could be the castle or something else.
It is some distance away to the west. He didn't stay long enough
to explore in case there are dangers. Z'leyra listens to his
report and is relieved to see him back.]

[Unali directs Raban from the Concealing Mist and smiles as if
needing to show him. Raban straightens his tunic and smiles back
happy to get a response from this women. But of course up here
in the clouds it isn't quite the best place to entertain.]

Unali: "Here Raban, I have some fine wine saved for the right
occasion. We might better use it now to make some of those
potions of you and get some new wine to celebrate once we are
          out of here."

[As she speaks she puts her bag on the ground and digs around it
for a Skin. She pulls out a Skin III sized 5 quarter leather
container that must hold the wine and hands it to Raban.]

[At the sound of wine Ben'dar turns and perks up. Caladan comes
         forward.]

Caladan: "Going to make those potions Raban?"

[Caladan looks around and the wind seems to have picked up around
the party blowing the clouds and mists around faster. In the
distance thunderclaps are heard. Fremea turns and listens to the
thunder and recalls the storm way off in the distance she saw
this morning, maybe half an hour ago, before the teleport. It
          must be approaching.]

Caladan: "Sounds like a storm in the distance. Better hurry if
you make those potions. I believe you'll need a quart skin
for potions? I have some ale in a skin I could let Ben'dar
finish off and you can use it."

[Ben'dar perks up again. Wine and now Ale? This morning could
turn out half-way decent after all.]

Caladan: "Should we find the edge so Arawn can do his Elf thing
for the spirits and stop the magic? Of course I fear stopping
the magic could drop this island and prevent air from this
height. But I'm sure he knows what he is doing."

        [Caladan smiles a sly smirk.]

        Actions? Comments?

        Next Update....Friday...

GM: Dispersion - I read the spell and it seems to be a bit vague
on the idea of 'evil'. Most priest spells use 'evil' as the
enemy alingment (law vs chaos, elder vs kototh, etc.). But the
ritual only deals with this part not the combat form so for this
case I'll allow it was 'evil' being what Arawn interprets. I
wouldn't mind other GMs reading the spell and see what they say
on it, for future use. :) Last time it was used was Giants and
Kotothi so that was clear. In this case its Elder vs Balance
            and not quite the 'enemy'.

        GM: Combat - Time - 12 Seconds

            Item Use - Fremea - -2 Arrows [1 Elf-Shot]

            Experience:

               Player MEP CEP Expertise Notes
               Arawn 28 - 28 EL2 Dispersion
               Fremea - 91 28 Bow - 2 Hits
               Fremea 28 - 28 EL0 Cold Arrow
               Raban 5 - 2 EL3 Bless
               Z'leyra - 77 14 Great Sword - 1 Hit

            Congratulations -

            1) Fremea - +1 OCV, +2 Cold Arrow EL!
            2) Z'leyra - +1 Great Sword EL

Note: Fremea/Arawn - Spells for Invisibility not recorded
above since did them live but recorded on sheets. Arawn
same for the Communicate failure (1 expertise).

GM: Z'leyra you can inform the party of Corona's report. Raban
looks like 8 doses are made with 1 quart. I'm not sure how
many would want a potion drink. They will have to indicate
they want one or not to make it worth it. One plant will
make 8 doses in 1 quart after being grounded leaving you still
one plant left. Arawn if you wish to pursue your earlier plan
to speak to wind spirits or find the edge and investigate
those things let me know. Otherwise we can move west toward
the structure. Z'leyra keep in mind you probably have 4-6
minutes left on your spell (unless you dispel it). You can't
travel well with the party unless you travel back 50 feet.
Let me know how you want to handle this spell (wait, end, or
go on with it still active, etc.).

GM: Short update. Dang. Beast didn't even get chance to fight
back. Same with the Hate Beasts. I'll have to make things
more complicated for this experienced group. Time to go
into thinking mode. (Evil GM laugh). :) This one came out
early due to early posts. Thanks!

(My proof-reader - Alex isn't here - off partying so hope update is good and not messy). :)
