OOC: J/Raban, I agree with you on point costs between Energy and Spirit Blessing. Spirit Blessing does have the advantage of being able to affect multiple targets (whether you want to or not) and the liability of not being able to be used on yourself while Energy (Priest) can only affect one person at a time but can be used on the caster.
The big problem is that I don't feel that Energy is cost efficient. Aside from the fact that Spirit Blessing is a BMC of 2 vs. Energy with a BMC of 6, Energy heals 2d6 + EL vs Spirit Blessings 2d10 + (EL x 2). Energy at EL0 heals an average of 7pts of energy for 6 mana and each additional EL heals 1 extra point for 2 Mana. As one rises in EL the energy healed is not commensurate with mana spent, I can cast one EL6 Energy spell to heal 2d6 + 6 EnL (average of 13 EnL) for 18 Mana or use the same mana to cast 3 EL0 Energy spells to heal 6d6 + 0 EnL (average of 21 EnL) for the same 18 Mana (6 Mana per casting). This doesn't really make much sense to me as it is a waste of power.
On top of that Spirit Blessing is much more cost efficient. At EL0 it heals 2d10 + 0, with an average of 11 EnL, for 2 Mana (as opposed to Energy at an average of 7 EnL for 6 Mana). At higher levels the energy restored outpaces Energy and for a lesser Mana Cost. If one were to replace the EL6 Energy above with EL6 Spirit Blessing then it would heal 2d10 + 12 (average of 23 EnL, vs Energy at 13) for 14 Mana (vs 14 Mana for Energy).
This energy/mana discrepancy is one I'd mentioned before and would love to see changed (maybe by posting on the main PnP site for suggestions to update it) but for now that's how it stands. Hopefully when Arawn has the spell at a high enough level he can 'tinker' with it (not sure how though).
For now though he has been casting Energy as that is what he has seen during his initiation. If he senses (through Mana Sense or something else) the benefit to Spirit Blessing he'll likely start casting that instead, alternating between the two spells (especially as he has ideas for Energy type spells in mind for later study) unless he can 'tinker' with Energy to make it more efficient/useful. Scott's call on whether Arawn would sense or know the difference for now (and, yes, I wasn't aware of Spirit Blessing until now either, so thanks for mentioning it:-)

<Metagame: Spells Raban will be casting on Frema: Blessing(DCV),
Blessing(Will), Blessing(Con) cast at maximum from Mana. 'Spirit
Blessing' cast at minimum from Enl as many times as needed. Note: Spirit
Blessing will yield double because the Enl loss was from a Kotohi
creature. Raban intends for Frema to have a significant increase in Enl
for a few days. Arawn, Spirit Blessing is also about 6 times cheaper to
use than Energy in this case, but Raban does not know that.>
<As player I am a bit confused as to why the spells have not yet been
cast, but likely its timing and consent related. So the casting should
be shortly after the chat with Frema, once any desired privacy could be
arranged or even cast in the open as little ceremony is needed. I don't
think there was any mention of not allowing spell casting, but there
could be some cultural restrictions or curiosity involved.>

[Raban mentally prepares himself to perform the Blessings, he reaches
deep within his heart for his connection to his Goddess and feels the
warmth spread. She has never refused his blessing of a women, especially
when they are at risk of injury. Raban wonders briefly if his connection
to his Goddess can truly be seen by others or whether the glow reported
by some of those he has blessed was from something entirely different...]
Raban to Frema, "Open yourself to receive the Glory of Miryan, so that
she can Bless you using my hands..."
<insert casting of Blesses here, hopefully no nasty surprises>

<Assuming no problems or events to change things.>
Raban to Frema, "You may need a little time to adjust but the effects
vary with the type of Blessing done. You are now better defended from
your enemies and will have a little boost in magical capability and
series increase in potential life force. The latter you will feel much
more once I channel more life into you. I have another Blessing, one of
the Spirit, that will greatly restore what you have lost. This blessing
is one that prefers to be shared when possible, but I know only of Unali
or Chion who may still benefit from it."
Raban to Unali and Chion, "If you are still feeling a bit weak from the
poison, you are welcome to share in my healing of Frema. If so, you must
gather close to her."
[Raban worries for a moment, including a man is not something he has
done often, but this one is also one protecting these women and he feels
no reaction forbidding it in his heart.]

Raban: "Open yourself to receive the Glory of Miryan, so that she can
restore your Spirit to its former glory using my hands..."
<insert casting of Spirit Blessings here, hopefully no nasty surprises.
Goal once more is filling Frema to capacity which could need a few
castings ;) >
<To those who can see magic this spell is fun as many many times the
energy Raban is using flows from him. The Mages may react to the
fountain of Divine power?>

<The next day practice etc seems to be fine as is. But he definitely
will keep an eye out for trouble.>
