        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
          Realizing he has no burn ointment or even bandaging to help
          Tef'wo, Ben'Dar leaves his horse near the campfire for now.
          Picking up his pike, he goes over to the cabin and examines
          the strange sap dripping down the sides.  He wants to know
          why these logs are still dripping sap.  It doesn't seem
          normal.

          After he examines the sap, he'll go inside the cabin to either
          warn the others (if the strange sap appears to be a threat) or
          to investigate what's going on inside (if the sap looks normal).
        GM: Ack. 

             ------------------------------------

        From Chion: [Re: Actions]
          Chion will continue, apparently having to completely cast a
          spell (at a level he can't do yet), despite it being -in- his
          staff (and theoretically needing just a command word), and
          totally ignore anything the redhead has said.

          He'll wait for the arrows to start hitting him before he
          realizes "duh, you're an idiot, you knew that spell takes way
          to long to cast from your staff" and then goes insubstantial
          again and teleports home out of frustration. (joke)
        GM: Ack.  Yeah the EL is high for casting.  But that will make
            sense in next adventure.  I explained the rest of the info
            in email.  It all depends on the design of the item.

        From Z'leyra: [Re: Actions]
          By holding her hands palm outwards at shoulder level and
          backing towards the wall Z'leyra signals to the female that
          she is not attacking and will give her time to 'discuss' the
          situation with the party. [Meanwhile hopefully keeping the
          redhead's attention from other things happening.]
        GM: Ack. 

             ------------------------------------

        From Arawn: [Re: Actions]
          It is immediately apparent that the woman is willing to act
          out of desperation and will kill the Bard and possibly his
          mother before she goes down. Seeing that the party's actions
          are only serving to escalate the danger of the situation Arawn
          tries once again to calm things down. He speaks to the woman in
          Vassa, his sword sheathed and his hands open and empty.

          "Please, the others cannot understand you. Give me a chance to
           talk to them. They are upset but let try to calm them down."

          Turning around to face the others Arawn quickly translates the
          red- haired womans message.

          "Again, she is asking us for the last time to stop. If we don't
           Strie'bog will die and possibly his mother, with far reaching
           consequences."

           Taking a gamble that the woman will not be able to understand
           Marentian he adds,

          "Also, there is more than meets the eye here. Farseeker, please,
           for now, stop swinging at the man. I've noticed a few things
           that you might have missed and I'll need all of you to help me
           piece things together.

          First, a ward on the ceiling is growing in power at a tremendous
          rate. Secondly, there is a patch of mana  on the floor, about 5'
          by 4', glowing right around where Farseeker and his opponent are
          standing. It is nearly as strong as Z'leyra's aura and I have
          to wonder if it might be the Green Lady. Fourth, has anyone
          noticed that every time Farseeker swings at the man he misses,
          and then the moans and creaks increase in intensity. I'm
          wondering if somehow his attacks are hurting her, or if she is
          standing in the spot, unseen to our eyes. The last might be
          completely off base but I'd rather not find out the hard way.

          There are Wards everywhere, from magics that reveal deceptions
          to concealing thoughts. Still, I cast magics just for a situation
          like this before we entered to force truths to the surface.
          Give me a chance to find out what I can.

          Also, if any of you have any questions tell me and I will
          translate."

          He spoke quickly, almost frantically, his hands moving
          dramatically as he tries to persuade them. He also takes those
          few precious seconds while his back is turned to the woman to
          mutter a few secret words quietly under his breath...
        GM: Ack. 

     -----------------------------------------------------------------
     [New Stuff]

         [Decalis 16th, 107th day since left Marentia, 42nd day of
          Adventure #3 of the 1633rd year [TH].]
          [Location: Pavassa Forest - Eastern Edge/On Plains]
          [Time - 10:09am]

          Turn 3: Phase 4

             [Mana Allocation] -

                [Chion continues pulling magical power for the staff.]
                [Thig allocates magical power for a new spell.]

             [Missile Fire   ] - None

             [Magic Effect   ] -

                [Since Arawn is blocking the door to the room Thig
                 raises a hand to the ceiling and casts a spell.
                 Having sensed a Mind Shield Spell, which he would
                 know since he uses the spell, he tries to dispel
                 the ward on the room.  After a second burst of
                 sidh words he casts the spell in hopes of ending
                 the ward.]

                [Suddenly another ward which was activated previously
                 and now coming into its powering up phase continues.
                 The temperature in the main room and the room
                 the redhead is in seems to increase a good 30 degrees.
                 Everyone can feel the heat that seems to drop down
                 from the ceiling.  The magical heat makes the tree
                 sap melt even further and drops begin to fall all
                 around the cabin in the various rooms.  Xian gives
                 a yelp as the heat seems to sting his skin but in the
                 party no one else is affected.  Of the party guard
                 #2 and #3 also give a yelp and suddenly move as they
                 reach and move their arms to the stinging magical
                 heat.  The redhead also reacts to the same magic it
                 seems and lowers the dagger hand as her arm is singed
                 by the magical heat effect.]

             [Melee & Movement]-

                [Corona by the front door of the cabin stares at the
                 room as many drops of sap seem to fall to the cabin
                 floor at the same time.  He is unsure what is going on
                 but wary of the situation.]

                [Boyzdar lowers his head to the ground and begins to
                 sniff the floor for any scent of Strie'bog's mother.]

                [The redhead lowers her hand as the heat distracts her.
                 She rubs her arm up against Strie'bog's tunic to cool
                 it down as she stares at Z'leyra and then darts her
                 Having heard Chion, Z'leyra and Arawn speak she is
                 wary of the situation but keeps a darting eye.  She
                 darts her eyes to the ceiling and floor at one point
                 considering her next option knowing time is running out.]

                [Z'leyra raises her palms up and steps back the 4 feet
                 to the wall where the small shelf is.  As she does
                 she can feel a warm drip of sap on her arm fall on
                 her.  She is surprised to hear two of the guards yelp
                 to the sudden pain and guesses they are now loose from
                 her Astral web spell.  She stops talking to calm the
                 redhead down.]

                [Farseeker is startled by the sudden movement of #2
                 which has been seemingly immobile for 5-6 seconds.
                 He swings his great sword and hits the man in the
                 right shoulder and cuts down.  The blade cuts
                 deep and does 11 points of damage killing the guard
                 instantly.]

                [Meanwhile outside Unali has dismounted the last
                 few seconds and noticed the ground outside seems
                 to be devoid of grass in one part.  Just a lump
                 of sand and dirt. She finds a discarded shovel lying
                 on the ground against the north wall.  At almost
                 5 feet behind the redhead against the other side
                 of the wall she begins to dig in the dirt ever
                 so cautiously.  As she does she notices the wall
                 seems to be warm and radiate heat.  She notices
                 the sap is also running in some spots.]

                [Meanwhile on the south side of the cabin Ben'dar has
                 approached the wall to examine it closely.  With
                 a gloved hand he touches the wall to examine the
                 sap.  His bare skin on his arm feels heat radiate
                 from the wall which is strange as the temperature
                 outside must be in the 40s? He doesn't know
                 cabin construction but something is not right here.]

                [Trembyl also blocked by Arawn gives up and turns
                 to the outer room and notices the sap falling all
                 around him.  He is unsure what is going on but
                 stares at Thig as he seems to look at the ceiling.]

                [Arawn realizes the party is making the redhead nervous
                 and they don't understand her making things even more
                 difficult.  Just now Farseeker killing a man in front
                 of her is bound to upset her.  He sighs inward and
                 hopes he has time to explain to Farseeker to stop.
                 Now the heat and the spell Thig cast behind him and the
                 sap seem to add to the difficult situation.  He faces
                 Arawn and speaks in Vassa.]

                Arawn: "Please, the others cannot understand you. Give
                   me a chance to talk to them. They are upset but let
                   try to calm them down."

                [Man #3 free from the Astral Web spell now moves the
                 few feet toward Farseeker and swings his sword at
                 him but fails to strike anything.]

                [Seeing the man Farseeker killed and now the other
                 guard moving and what Chion, Z'leyra and Arawn
                 are attempting to do or say Strie'bog determines
                 his options.  He knows all this will make the
                 redhead desperate.  He also suspects where his
                 mother may now be.  As the redhead lowers her arm
                 with the dagger from the heat sting he sees his
                 chance.  With his right hand he grabs the arm
                 holding the dagger and pulls down and out.  With
                 his left hand he pulls right and grabs the redhead's
                 shoulder tunic area and twists.  With a skill of
                 a dancer doing a twist he turns around and pushes
                 the dagger upwards.  The redhead struggles strength
                 to strength. For a second both struggle now with
                 both hands on the dagger trying to stab each other
                 in the neck.  At the last second the redhead gains
                 strength and pushes it away from her toward
                 Strie'bog's right cheek half an inch away.]

                [Suddenly a thump is heard somewhere in the cabin...]


                        -------------------------


          Turn 4: Phase 1

             [Mana Allocation] -

                [Chion continues pulling magical power for the staff.]
                [Thig allocates magical power for a new spell.]

             [Missile Fire   ] - None

             [Magic Effect   ] -

                [Chion completes the staff spell and waves it toward
                 the redhead and 2 other guards.  He hopes it works
                 but it should at such a high spell effect.]

                [Thig now uses a Mind Search to locate Strie'bog's
                 mother hoping the mind shield ward is now gone.
                 As he completes the spell words he moves his head
                 about 140 degrees in a scan of the room where
                 the redhead is.  He detects all the minds inside
                 the room and their intelligence in relative
                 levels and who has magical power.  Interesting
                 he detects two minds less than he counted before
                 Arawn blocked his view.  Maybe they have died.
                 He finally detects a mind of great power.]

                [The magical heat increases and the temperature
                 again seems to increase another 10? degrees. Now
                 the temperature inside the cabin seems to be in the
                 60s or 70s.  This time the spell stings Farseeker
                 through his magical defense and burns skin doing
                 damage.  He gives a growl of pain.  Of the enemy
                 guard #2 who is on the floor gets welts from the
                 heat pain as well but no one else is affected.]

             [Melee & Movement]-

                [Corona is ruffled by the heat and turns to the
                 door and flies outside of the cabin.]
                 
                [Boyzdar begins to walk south sniffing the ground
                 moving toward #3 and Farseeker oblivious to
                 the redhead and Strie'bog fighting.  Maybe he's
                 too engrossed to notice.  He continues to sniff
                 the wooden planks and moves south.  He walks the
                 6 feet and ends up just behind the #3 guard but
                 doesn't attack him.  He sniffs the ground and
                 begins to paw at the area.  He suddenly jerks
                 his head up and gives a playful sounding yelp toward
                 Strie'bog.]

                [The redhead who knows her strength seems better
                 than this Vassa scum of a singing idiot so smiles
                 inwardly at the soon death of both him and his
                 mother in the same room within seconds of each other.
                 She moves his arm toward Strie'bog ...she moves...
                 she...tries...she begins to curse mentally as her
                 muscles don't seem to comply.  She is frozen in
                 place.  She looks over the shoulder of Strie'bog
                 to the one with the staff.  He must've done this!
                 The shaman stopped whatever she was saying.  The
                 Elf is clearly not doing magic.  So this is how
                 it ends.  They promised they would be here to help
                 but they lied.  Idiots the whole lot.  Well at
                 least she has set into motion the death of all
                 these people!  Yet they don't know it yet.  Now
                 to speak the word to her friend and kill the forest
                 creature of this bard's mother.  But she screams
                 inside as her mouth muscles do not seem to move....]

                [Chion knows the redhead would've surely moved by
                 now but doesn't.  His staff spell must've worked.
                 He looks around the room to see 2 guards left
                 and the wolf sniffing the ground?]

                [Z'leyra watches as the Redhead seems to be
                 frozen in place her struggle seemingly to fade
                 completely.  She brings up her buckler to avoid
                 more dripping sap.]

                [Farseeker thrusts his sword at #3 hitting the man
                 in the left arm slicing off tissue and slicing
                 through the man's chest doing 13 points of damage
                 killing the guard instantly.]

                [Unali continues to dig and she notices that the
                 mound of sand was piled here from somewhere else.
                 Could there be a hole?  A outhouse? A well? A
                 pit? A basement to this place?]

                [Ben'dar runs past Corona and heads into the
                 cabin to warn the others.  He ends up at the
                 wall next to Arawn and the door to the inner
                 room to the redhead.]

                [Trembyl sees Ben'dar rush in and raises an
                 eyebrow as Ben'dar pants.  Trembyl wonders if
                 there is a new threat outside?]

                [Arawn sees Farseeker down another guard and rolls
                 his eyes.  He also sees Strie'bog take his chance
                 and struggle against the redhead.  Arawn translated
                 to the party what the redhead says as he watches
                 the struggle and then at the end turns around to
                 face Thig and glance at Ben'dar.  Now his back
                 turned to the inner room.]

                Arawn: "Again, she is asking us for the last time to stop.
                  If we don't Strie'bog will die and possibly his mother,
                  with far reaching consequences."

                [Arawn knows it may be too late as the two struggle for
                 control over the dagger.  He prepares to add more to
                 tell the party...]

                [Strie'bog feels the redhead's arm become like stones
                 that don't move.  With ease he raises the dagger to
                 the female's neck pulling free of her hands which
                 remain in place.  He is unsure why she is not moving
                 at all but takes the blessing.  A second passes as
                 he pauses just long enough to consider the result
                 of the next second.  While taking life is against all
                 his father taught him not to mention the Druids and
                 Bards but this woman did kidnap his mother.  Though
                 she wasn't in his vision that man with the bow
                 Z'leyra took out with a Oblivion was in charge it
                 seems.  These females were not seen.  Should he
                 kill the female?  She certainly has threatened his
                 mother and himself.  If she lives she could say or
                 invoke that one thing to kill his mother.  One life
                 over a forest.  Over a culture like the Vassa and
                 all the creatures inside the forest.  Its worth it.
                 All this goes through his mind in a split second and
                 he forces the dagger up into the bottom of the redhead's
                 neck stabbing her.  The blade breaks through
                 with force piercing her mouth and jaw.  Blood
                 splatters to the floor and onto Strie'bog's hands.
                 She is now broken by the astral web spell by damage
                 and begins to gurgle and attempt to speak but her
                 tongue and voicebox doesn't seem to cooperate.  All
                 she does is spit out teeth and blood.  She reaches
                 up to her neck and tries to stop the bleeding.  But
                 it gushes out.  She chokes on blood and staggers
                 back against the warm wall.  She reaches her right
                 hand out toward Strie'bog and with bloody fingers
                 tries to grab him but fails to her in now weakened
                 state.  With sad eyes she slumps to the wall and
                 slides down it.  Her knees give way and her butt
                 lands on the ground.  With a final gasp she gurgles
                 a word but nothing is understood only blood seeping
                 from her mouth and nose.  With her green eyes looking
                 at Strie'bog she closes her eyes and slumps to the
                 ground...]

                [Suddenly the cabin roof begins to shake as the heat
                 of the ward magic makes the hard logs softer and
                 the sap begins to separate with the mud used to
                 reinforce the logs like cement.  As the heat separates
                 the logs from its sap some logs begin to shake and
                 fall.  Suddenly all around the cabin in all the rooms
                 pieces of logs and in some cases entire logs are
                 starting to fall to the ground with loud thumps.
                 The walls also begin to shake as the sap that keeps
                 the logs together with the mud and grass separate.
                 To the party its clear the cabin may be about to
                 collapse!  In the outer room 3 logs fall to the
                 ground one onto the kitchen table cracking it making
                 holes in the ceiling.  In the room with the redhead
                 2 logs have fallen but not as of yet hit anyone.
                 Much more sap, grass, now liquefied mud and pieces
                 of log and trees are falling all over the place
                 onto various party members...]

               Thig: "Bohusra's in the room! I sense her."

          Actions? Comments?

          Next update Friday...

          GM: Now the fun begins!

              Arawn - You'll notice you didn't have time to speak
                 the full speech as warned in ICQ.  The above
                 was only spoken.  So the party doesn't know
                 what else you wanted to say unless you speak it
                 next update.  If so let me know if not et
                 me know as well :)  With back turned you won't
                 know she's down till you turn around again.

              Ben'dar - Into danger we tread! :)

              Chion - Staff spell is complete.  Actions? :)
                I still have what you said after the spell for
                next update unless you want to change it.  

              Strie'bog - Actions completed based on email.
                  When you turn around you'll see where the
                  Wolf is.  Let me know of any actions.

              Unali - Heat is coming from the walls outside as well.

          GM: If you haven't figured the Heat damage acts like
              intense sunburn but sores causing more physical
              damage.  

          GM: Next phase I'll be doing random Log Fall :)  Trees
              landing on folks should be interesting to see the
              results for those who are already damaged huh?
              If a tree falls in a cabin does anyone hear it?

          GM: Enemy only #1 is still alive and up standing but
              frozen again.  He was free but recaptured by
              the Chion's staff before he could react.

          GM: On a personal issue.  After 7 years I have changed
              my work "schedule".  I'm the boss and set my own
              hours per se.  But on programming contracts I am
              obligated on some restrictions.  I dunno.  Something
              about services done them they expect X hours and
              I get Y dollars.  Go figure that odd scheme.  For
              seven years I've selected my days off as Thursday
              and friday.  i liked those days off for various
              reasons.  Now how does this affect you?  Well now
              my days off due to the contract changes for testing
              and such is Tuesday/Wednesday.  As John and Alex
              knows in ICQ I tend to stay up till 3am on the nights
              I don't have to work.  I'm a night owl :).  On day's
              I do work I tend to stay up only to 1am max.  But
              since I'm now going into work at 9:30 instead of 7am
              I can also sleep later.  This means on day's off
              I might be able to extend it to 2am but that's
              pushing it.  But 1am is likely the comfy time.  Now
              this means Monday night I'm up late.  Like tonight.
              I can work on the update late.  But thursday compared
              to previously being up late I'm bed early.  So its
              switched around.  How this affects you is I'll likely
              be able to work on Monday's update (though we all
              know it comes out Tuesday :)) around 10pm-3am.  Then
              on Thursday 10pm-1am.  Then means for the Thursday
              (really Friday update) I should get actions before
              10pm on Thursday to help speed things up.  In fact
              I would probably work on it that afternoon so anytime
              after 3pm EST would be great but not required.  I
              will still likely wait till 10pm 95% of the time
              to work on it.  So just a note to you guys on
              my new schedule.  If I get back logged its possible
              a Friday update will be delayed till even Saturday
              if I get busy Friday night (Scifi channel shows so
              sue me! :)).  Just a head's up!
