Strie'bog hesitates when he realizes what the spider could do.  Seeing Z'leyra casting, he waits a moment before acting.  He hears Chion, and will get his mother if Z'leyra can deal with the spider.  Otherwise, pulling off his cloak, he will wrap his hand in it and try to capture the spider (putting his hand between the spider and his mother).  Then get his mother out and over to Chion.
