     Game Update #97a in sequence (file #344)

     Admin notes: Email issues should be fixed.  But as always if you
     don't get email you sent me Acked I never got it.  I also tried
     to solve the issue of Tabs in the emails mis-aligning the maps
     and other things.  Problem wasn't fixed.  The problem goes in
     each person's email client fonts.  Everyone's settings will be
     separate so can't fix.  Best thing ot do is always check the
     website for a good version of the map.  HOWEVER, if the map
     doesn't show up in your browser it could be your font or
     other settings.  Let me know and i can attach the map as a
     text file to everyone's email.  That might work.  Wow.  Only
     one map mistake.  A sentry was duplicated in position.  But
     fixed now.  Figured there might be more.  But all map positions
     are accurate including animals.  Horses aren't mapped but
     they are denoted by H's.

          the edge of the center area (avoiding being trampled, of
          course).
        GM: Ack.  Ok.  So your moving toward the center area.  Not the
          SE area.  Gotcha.  Will move you over there then.

     [New Stuff]

        Octaqi 21, in the 163rd Year [TH]
        [Meanwhile somewhere on the plains]
         [Day 51 of Trip] [Near Enemy camp]
         Time: Roughly 2:05am

     Turn 1 - Phase 2

        [Mana Allocation]

           [Strie'bog allocates some magical energy.]

        [Missile Fire]

           [Thig having flown up to avoid the now converging 3 eagles
            on him tries to frantically fire at another eagle.  He
            fires at one coming up in front of him a unwounded one.
            his magical repeating crossbow hits at point blank
            range and hits doing 12 points.  The bird squaks in
            pain but continues forward.]

           [Bowmen/Sentry #1 turns from the corral and aims right
            at Chion.  He fires and hits but the chainmail bounces
            the arrow back onto the ground.]

           [Sentry/Bowmen #4 having stabbed Praelux places his
            weapon on the sling in his belt and strings his bow
            quickly.  He fires eastward over the body of Praelux
            and the other sentry taken down by Z'leyra.  He doesn't
            see Z'leyra but hears Ben'dar in the corral 22 feet
            away.  He fires and hits doing 6 but the Dragon hide
            bounces the arrow to the ground and Ben'dar takes no
            damage at all.]

           [Zen'da #12 holds off his bow and shoulders it.  Seeing
            a horse he can run to for mounted archery.]

           [Zen'da #16 raises his bow.  He aims it due north
            toward Balrog on his horse.  He could hit the dog
            and the other Zen'da but since Balrog is on the
            horse there is less of a chance.  He fires and
            hits but the arrow bounces off the leather and
            falls to Balrog's left side.]

           [Zen'da #18 fires toward Balrog hearing orders from
            one of his superiors only feet away.  The arrow
            misses Balrog by inches.]

           [Zen'da #19 fires NE toward Balrog as well.  But
            he misses entirely.]

           [Zen'da/Sentry #23 sees no target to fire on.]

           [Zen'd1 #26 aimes Eastward but has no target for
            fearing of hitting others.  He turns back east
            and stands his ground.]

           [Zen'da #29 also fire son Balrog but misses even
            further than the others.]

        [Magic Effect]

           [Strie'bog tries again to cast Sonata but nothing happens.
            He curses mentally that another spell has failed.]
           GM: Sorry bad rolls :<

        [Melee & Movement]

           [Some horses move but will do in just a second..]

           [Corona dives toward Eagle I.  He feels bad about
            attacking on of his kind.  But if left alone the
            eagles could take out Thig and any others on the
            ground.  Corona has no choice but to protect the
            others.  It dives from 100 feet down straight for
            Eagle #1 at 81 feet off the ground.  Red crimson
            bolts of energy shoot out of Corona's eyes and
            hit the eagle.  Now that everyone knows Corona is a
            bit more special than most he fears not using his
            powers.  The bolts and claw attacks do a total of
            14 points.  The eagle goes limp and begins to spiral
            down to the ground.  At this point its not dead
            but the impact scores an additional 8 points from
            81 feet up and kills the bird.  The Eagle falls
            Row 28 and column 80.  At least 10 feet east of
            the corral safe from impacting on anyone.]

           [One Eagle turns and attacks Corona but Corona dodges
            at the last instant.  The other one still in the
            air comes at Thig.  Rolling Random positions Thig
            is facing 303 degrees.  Eagle comes in at 33 degrees.
            Which means the bird hits Thig on the back.  Fournately
            Thig has his buckler on his back.  The Eagle does 7
            points (shield hit).  The shield blocks 5 and his leather
            1 so Thig does take one point as a claw barely hits skin.]

           [The Horses move...Going North to South...
            Three horses nearby Strie'bog flee.  One continues NW
            and nears by Strie'bog by 8 feet the other 2 continue
            due north.  Another horse exits the map NW.   The
            Cow in the Corral continues to smack and look at the
            dumb humans running around like crazy.  Horse 8 feet
            West of Praelux stands still.  One horse near the
            Northern tents scares from Lodd's clanking weapons and
            flees northward off the map.  One horse due East of
            Caladan doesn't scare but it heads south toward the
            south railing.  One horse about 6 feet SE of Caladan
            stands still.  One horse near sentry #26 decides to
            break free as well and heads NW off the map.   One
            horse from the Corral, a riding horse, goes between
            the fights of Balrog and Farseeker and continues west
            past sentry #26.  One horse at 12,32 decides to stay
            put.  One horse near this one at the west railing stays
            put being a warhorse its not scared.  But to the east
            of that horse a riding horse flees SW away from the
            noise toward the south railing.  The animals and horses
            south of the last south gate stays in place.  That's
            it for the free horses.]
           GM: I know.  Warhorses would not flee in battle.  I know
            this but they are still pack animals.  They work as
            a pack at times.  If one flees (say their leader horse)
            they will follow him.  Also by removing them off the
            map its less clutter for you guys :)  There are riding
            horses in the mix and they would panic far more.

           [At the same time the Zen'da on horses move at once and
            as one.  Rider #5 heads NE toward Balrog and finishes
            a circle around Balrog.  He charges full blast with
            his lance straight for Balrog and hits.  The lance
            impales Balrog doing 4 more points to him.  He is now
            in trouble being surrounded.]

           [At the same time #5 moves #9 turns with scimitar in
            hands and moves the 3 feet toward Jordi.  Too close
            for a charge he swings at Jordi but misses.]

           [Rider #14 on the NE sector stays put standing guard so
            no one from that side enters the camp.]

           [A rider heds north then NE toward Balrog.  But feet away
            he stops his horse and holds his mace.  He looks at
            Kasha, Lodd, Balrog and Farseeker.  This tall warrior
            is huge over 200 pounds and grins as his muscles ripple
            in his arms.]
           GM: So noted Big Warrior for his title.

           [Rider #S2 sits on his horse near the south end of the
            campfire and gives hand signals to the warriors with
            one free hand.  He suddenly goes quiet after issuing some
            orders to the troops.]

           [Dog near Kasha leaps but Kasha is just able to move
            out of the way at the last second and the dog misses.]

           [Two dogs leaves a NW tent and hears a order to join
            the sentries in the NW.  A dog exits the tent right
            next to Kasha and attacks him but misses.  Another
            dog leaves the four man tent but stands nearby as if
            guarding the sleeping villagers.]

           [Another dog exits the tent near Kasha.  Kasha sighs
            wondering if there are more.  Luckilly it heads south
            toward and stops near the Big Warrior.  Another dog
            exits the tent north of the campfire and stands to
            watch what's going on.  This one to the right of the
            Big Warrior. One dog exits a tent and looks eastward
            at the corral and nears a horse to figure out what's
            goign on.]

           [Farseeker glances to the east.  He sees the mass of
            people and hopes reinforcements come soon.  He sees
            Kasha holding his own but Balrog could be in trouble.
            Lodd should be able to take care of himself.  Farseeker
            sees the big warrior just sitting there.  What is he
            there for?  Farseeker gets back to the battle with back
            to the Tipi he thrusts his great sword at #21 and hits
            doing 9 points of damage.]

           [Unali looks south sees one Zen'da and a bunch to the
            north.  She glances west and can barely see one in
            the distance.  She heads the 16 feet toward the
            bowmen.  She swings both daggers at the back of the
            man's head (who is facing west to guard that area).
            One dagger misses but the other hits right on the
            back of the head.  Before the guard can react the
            9 point blow takes him down knocked out.]

           [Ben'dar mvoes westward straight out the corral.  He
            goes into the Tipi near Z'leyra and as soon as entering
            the flap runs into a warrior carrying a bow.  The
            young warrior who can't be much older than 17 brings
            up his short sword and drops his bow.  Both are standing
            in the tent feet away.  Ben'dar swings his flat side
            of the magical pike at the warrior #25 and hits doing 9
            points of subdual damage.  with a 90% chance to knock
            out and roll a 90 he swings back a bit then drops to his
            knees and collapses on the ground.  Ben'dar hasn't had
            time to use his pike so far and the feel is great!  He
            looks around and sees no one else in the tent.]

           [A short man wearing leather armor and a leather cape
            exits the four man tent.  He stands under 5 feet and
            is rather thin.  He heads NW and mounts one of the
            tied up horses already with a saddle on it.  He rounds
            the horse south and heads to 24,20 between 6 of the
            sleeping villagers.  he looks around to figure out what
            is going on.]

           [Balrog knows he has one warrior behind him.  Two to the
            side and arrows flying at him.  With a stupid dog
            in front of his horse.  Yet why can't he get that
            stupid cow out of his head.  "I can't believe it
            spit at me!" - he thinks.  He could try to try to break
            out of being surrounded and flee.  He is more than
            half alive at this point with 2 big wounds.  Yet he
            is desperate.  What would the famous Til'amon Guildmaster
            do in a situation like this?  Well he'd have his body
            guards save him.  But he'd do something stupid.  So why
            not do something stupid?  He turns to the right.  With
            one hand on his short sword and his free hand he pushes
            himself up.  The horse has no saddle so its harder to do.
            At the same time a boot spur hits the horse and angers it.
            At that isntant Balrog leaps right for warrior #7!
            Both men go flying to the NW.  Balrog hopes he can use
            the body as cushion for his fall.  It works.  Balrog tries
            a wild grapple for damage but misses.  Warrior #7 would
            take damage of a point if he wasn't wearing leather from
            the floor impact.  At least now he isn't surrounded!
            "That stupid cow!"]

           fBalrog was lucky to choose #7 as he reacts next.  The
            warriro tries to get up at the same time he can't
            reach his sword.  He tries to throw a fist at Balrog
            but misses in the chaos.]

           [Caladan exits the corral and heads SW.  He turns and
            joins the group near Balrog and Farseeker.  Hoping
            to help out in the melee.  Doesn't end up near anyone
            to fight though.]

           [Z'leyra moves westward 4 feet to attack #4 who just
            fired on Ben'dar.  She can't get behind or in front
            due to bodies (praelux including).  She used her
            dagger to the side of the head while she is invisible.
            She hits doing 5 points.  The man goes down knocked
            out.  Luckilly he falls southward not on Praelux.]

           [Warrior #21 swings on Farseeker but fails to hit.]

           [Rider/Sentry #14 issues orders to the dogs to stay.]

           [Having taken out a sentry near Lodd, Rin steps southward
            near Balro nad attacks the dog nearby.  He stabs it
            with his scimitar and kills it.]

           [Jordi thrusts his sword at Zen'da #16 and hits.  The
            blade does massive points past the banded armor killing
            the guard.]
           GM: Never got orders from Sergi if KO or Kill.  So going
             on past actions.  Sword takes damage.

           [Chion moves.  Annoyed at being attacked by bowmen #1
            he moves toward him. He swings his magical staff.  The
            staff impacts so hard it does 6 points.  The head sways
            and the man falls knocked out.  One more point would've
            killed him.]

           [Kasha swings his mace at Zen'da #14 avoiding the dogs.
            The mace hits and does 7 points to the warrior.]

           [Another dog exits a tent and stops near the NE corner
            of the campfire.]

           [Warrior #29 stays near the campfire guarding the bowmen
            there from melee attack.]

           [Another warriro quickly leaves a NW tipi and belts
            a dagger and holds his short sword.  He runs out
            and looks around.]

           [Sentry #15 tries to swing on Balrog but the horse is
            blocking his view.]

           [Warrior #13 swings on Kasha and hits but his Ring mail
            protects the blow.]

           [Sentry #26 pets the nearby dog waiting for action.]

           [Lodd goes to join and help Kasha attacking one of the
            dogs but fails to hit.]

           [Zen'da #22 exits the tent near the Big warrior.  He
            spots the fight with Kasha, Lodd and Balrog.  He
            looks around for targets next phase.]

           [Another man exits a tent near the four man tent.
            The short man orders him to stand guard near him
            and the villagers.]

           [Warrior #17 thrusts at Farseeker but Farseeker is
            able to dodge the blow just in time.]

           [Warrior #27 swings on Corr but with 2 wounds on his
            body his strength fades and he misses the blow.]

           [Warrior #30 decides to stay in place to guard the
            south passage among the tents.]
