     Game Update #96 in sequence (file #342]

     Admin notes: I'm having some minor email issues.  I'm working on
     it.  But if you send a email and don't see it on the game website
     in the form of a public post or later in the update or a Ack
     if its in private email then i never got it.  Resend it!  We
     are winding down things once the combat is over the adventure will
     be practically over.

     [Recap]

        From Ben'dar: [Re: Actions]
          Ben'Dar will continue with his battle plan.  He continues
          chasing the horses toward the NW gate, following Farseeker
          out of the corral.  If some horses stay in the corral, he
          won't bother with them.  The ambush has been sprung so his
          top priority is moving out of the corral and joining the
          fight now.

          Once out of the corral, he will move SW and enter the first
          big tipi, looking for leaders and/or the theif to take out.
        GM: Ack.  Is that Tipi at 2,28 the NE corner one?

        [Meanwhile somewhere on the plains]
         [Day 51 of Trip] [Near Enemy camp]
         Time: Roughly 2:05am

        [Battle Positions - My Reminder]
           [North - ]  Kasha, Lodd, Rin, Strie'bog, Z'leyra, Praelux
           [South - ]  Unali, Corr, Jordi, Chion, Cetric

     Turn 1 - Phase 1

        [Mana Allocation]

           [Strie'bog allocates some magical energy.]

        [Missile Fire]

           [Thig sees the Eagle coming straight for him.  He didn't
            see them on their first recon.  Maybe they were away.
            But this time he spotted them at the last minute.  All
            3 eagles were on top of tipis.  Likely as more sentries.
            He should've looked harder.  He raises his crossbow at
            oen coming straight for him.  He aims and the dart hits
            the magical repeating crossbow enhances the damage and
            does 6 points to the eagle.  But the eagle stays in the
            sky.]

           [Sentry #1 in the SE corner loads his bow.  He raises
            it toward the corral toward the general area where Caladan
            is making noise.  But its too far.  Even if he could
            see him in the dark the range is too far.]

           [Zen'da #12 near campfire loads his bow but doesn't see
            a target.  He waits for orders.]

           [Zen'da #16 does the same as #12 but can't find a target.]
           [Zen'da #18 does the same as #12 both near the campfire
            but have no clear tgrgets or sees anyone with the bow.]
           [As with #12, 16 and 18 Zen'da #19 near campfire has
            no target with his bow.]

           [Sentry #23 on horseback sits with his bow ready for
            targets as he sits guard in the SW sector.]

           [Sentry #26 in the NW corner sees the noise and horses
            fleeing in the NE but the tents cover his field of
            fire so doesn't have a good bow attack.]

           [Zen'da #29 lowers his bow looking for targets with the
            others near the campfire but doesn't have any.]

        [Magic Effect]

           [Strie'bog plays his balalika and casts his Sonata
            spell.  If he had cast his spores he could affect
            the others in that area.  As he plays he doesn't
            see an aura around his instrument.  Something is
            wrong, he figures the spell has failed.]

        [Melee & Movement]

           [Corona sees Thig is being attacked by not one but 3
            other eagles.  He dives from his high position. Tucking
            his wings in to gain speed he dives down through the
            darkness.  At the last instant he spreads out his claws
            and digs in on one eagle.  He is able to scratch
            badly one eagle doing 5 points of damage.]

           [The Horses move now...all at roughly equal times..
            Two far from the corral feel safe and stop in the
            NW and north sections of the map. The horse right
            next to Z'leyra flees NW and exits the map.  One
            horse turns back north and goes between two sentries.
            then past Z'leyra it charges NE into the darkness and
            eoff the map. One horse near north tents feels safe
            and remains in place.   One horse just had exited the
            Corral heads NW into the darkness and almost hits
            Strie'bog by 2 feet and heads off the map. The Mule
            in the gate now decides to wander SW and ends up near
            the SE corner of the campfire.]

           [The horse in the center north area of the corral decides
            to take off.  Seeking freedom and to run with the other
            horses it heads out and then south.  It then turns
            right (west) and in between the tents and tipis.  The
            cow not even affected by the noise contines to smack its
            grass and watches the silly horese run.  The draft horse
            isn't one of the pack of war horses.  Its a manual labor
            horse.  it feels safe still in the corral.  It decides
            to head south to the SE corner of the corral.  The horse
            near Farseeker exits the corral.  It turns SW and heads
            around the Tipi, almost hitting Balrog.  it continues
            west past the others and ends up near the sentries.
            Horse behind Farseeker passes him and exits the corral.
            It chargest West almost hitting Praelux but turns at
            the last second and continues westward north of the
            tents.  Another horse near Farseeker exits the Corral
            and heads NW.  It almost hits Strie'bog as well by 2
            feet and continues off the map.]

           [One horse in the northern section remains in place
            feeling safe or bold.  One horse south of Farseeker
            remains in place.  But two horses nearby Ben'dar do
            fleet from his growls.  One exits and continues westard.
            This one however does hit Praelux and throws him right
            up against the sentry.  The horse scared continues on
            and turns northward past Z'leyra.  The other horse near
            Ben'dar exits and turns right northward.]

           [Two horses near Caladan one at the West railing stays
            in place.  The other to Caladan's right stays in place
            as well feeling safe.  Two horses, the goat and other
            mule remain in the southern portion of the corral but
            in place.  The horses outside and south of the tents
            remain in place feeling safe for the time being.]

           [Two dogs move north.  One from the south sentry area.
            It continues past the campfire and heads north.  It
            spots Kasha in the shadows and charges him.  Figuring
            it to be a intruder.  It tries to leap at him but
            misses.  The other dog heads northeast ending at 7,19.
            It realizes it didn't get a order from his master and
            stops.  it begins to bark out loud enough to wake
            everyone in the camp.  it looks to the NE section where
            the horses and Z'leyra are fighting.]

           [Farseeker exits the Corral.  He turns left toward the
            SW.  He runs past Balrog and grins at him.  He ends
            up near the two man tent entrnace spotting the men
            at the campfire and readies his great sword for a fight.]

           [Unali saw the sentry leave his position and charge
            north past the tipi.  She senses a problem as the
            sentry nears the sleeping villagers only 4 feet away.
            Maybe he means them harm or as prisoners.  She bolts
            forward north and from behind uses both daggers to
            hit the guard.  Both daggers hit their target.  The
            head is crunched back and the guard drops his short
            sword and drops to the ground knocked out.]

           [Ben'dar moves west toward that horse.  He gives a
            final growl to it and heads north.  He is still 12
            feet from the gate opening though.]

           [A tall Zen'da leaves the Tipi 28,11 and finds his
            horse has fled a few feet away.  Where Unali had
            cut its rope.  He doesn't seem to notice Unali nearby.
            But instead chases the horse down and mounts it.  With
            his spear he turns the horse north and turns toward
            the center campfire to issue some orders.]

           [Balrog runs west.  He sees the horse that fled the
            corral at 7,23.  Though it has no saddle.  He quickly
            grabs it and mounts the horse.  The horse seems to
            understand being a warhorse and remains still.  Balrog
            now kicks the horse forward straight at the dog nearby.
            He turns the horse and slices down at the barking dog.
            He hits for a minor 2 points at the dog.]

           [Zen'da #11 exits the NE Tipi.  he looks right to the
            corral then left and sees Praelux attacking one
            sentry.  He draws up his scimitar and charges to the
            back of Praelux.  but amazingly he misses his attack.]

           [Zen'da #7 exits the 3rd North tent wearing leather.
            He draws up his short sword and approaches Balrog
            on his horse.  He thrusts and nicks Balrog in the
            leg doing 1 point of damage.]

           [Caladan continues NW toward the gate and ends up
            about 6 feet from it.  He taps with his staff one
            horse nearby to startle it.]

           [Z'leyra sees Zen'da #11 exit the Tipi and attack
            Praelux.  She steps back a couple of feed and with
            her dagger tries to knock out the Zen'da.  She
            does with a 9 point blow to the back of the head.]

           [Zen'da #21 leaves the campfire area and heads north.
            With Scimitar in hand he sees Balrog on the horse
            nearby being attacked by another.  He glances to
            the right and spots Farseeker.  Obviously not a person
            that looks like a Zen'da he turns and charges Farseeker.
            He swings but misses in his attack.]

           [Zen'da Sentry #1 holds his bow and waits for orders and
            enemies nearby.]

           [A tall zen'da exits the four man tent and wraps a cloak
            around him from the cold.  He walks west to figure out
            what is going on.]

           [Sentry Rider #14 remains in place with his horse.]

           [Rin leaves the dead sentry he just killed and turns
            and charges south.  He joines Lodd in attacking #28.
            He hits with his scimitar and impales the guard in
            the chest for 6 points.]

           [Zen'da #16 remains in place with his bow.]

           [Jordi comes up on the south SW sentry #3 and tries
            to swing his sword but misses his attack.]

           [Chion leaves the side of the Tipi and charges with
            his staff toward the rider nearby.  He swings his
            staff hoping to hit the man in the shoulder to
            knock him down and out.  He swings on Sentry #2
            and hits.  The tall staff knocks the guy off his
            saddle and smacks into his head.   The sentry drops
            his scimitar and his bow goes flying.  He falls to
            the ground and doesn't move.]
           GM: Since no direct actions assumed this to be the
             best random act.

           [Kasha sees the dog in front of him.  He knows there
            is another Zen'da nearby the tent.  But he knows if
            he turns to fight him the dog will attack.  He swings
            his mace at the dog and hits him in the side and the
            dog goes down knocked out after a 10 point hit.]

           [Wounded #28 Zen'da turns to swing his scimitar at
            Rin and misses his attack.]

           [Another man exits the four man tent.  He belts his
            mace and quickly mounts a tied up horse.  He turns
            the horse and heads to the campfire south end.  He
            begins to look the battle over.]

           [Cetric invisible quietly sneaks northward and nears
            the sleeping villagers.  He inspects them to see
            if they are ok.]

           [Dog near Balrog nips at Balrog but misses.]

           [Strie'bog remains in place.]
           GM: Since no updated actions unsure if your going to move.
             If not I'll go with previous actions and recast the
             Sonata spell.

           [A man ina  flowing cape exits the four man tent and
            turns right.  With speed he moves south.  At the point
            where the sleeping villagers are he carefully steps
            among them and gets in the center of the group and
            examines his surroundsings.  No one sees him do this
            but Ghig out of the corner of his eye.]

           [Sentry #3 turns to Jordi and backs up a foot or two.
            Then charges with hsi lance.  He hits Jordi but
            his armor protects against the blow.]

           [Sentry #23 turns to the noise behind and readies his
            bow for Jordi.]

           [One Zen'da #24 wakes in his Tipi and gets his gear.]

           [Now with his banded armor on Zen'da #15 exits the 3rd
            tent and immediately sees Balrog.  Another Zen'da is
            attacking him so he helps out.  He thrusts his scimitar
            at Balrog's back and hits doing 4 points of damage
            in the thrust to the lower back.]

           [Zen'da #13 having exited the second tent turns and
            rushes the 3 feet to Kasha.  He swings his scimitar
            but misses the strike.]

           [Sentry #26 remains in place.]

           [Lodd thrusts at the side of Zen'da #28 attacking
            Rin and hits for 6 points of damage.  The Zen'da
            falls dead to the ground.]

           [Sentry #4 thrusts his weapon at Praelux and gets
            a lucky understrike.  The blade impales Praelux
            who yelps in pain.  Blood flies and he falls to
            the ground.  Z'leyra sees this only feet away.]

           [Zen'da #5 hears the orders and leaves the campfire
            area.  He turns and finds one of the tied up horses
            nearby.  He mounts and with lance in hand heads north.]

           [Corr follows Chion and heads toward #27.  He swings
            his mace and hits doing 4 points to the non-armored
            Sentry.]

           [Two Zen'da don armor in their Tents after waking up.]

           [Zen'da #17 leaves the campfire and heads to help the
            Zen'da fighting Farseeker.  He thrusts his scimitar
            and hits doing a big 9 point hit wounding Farseeker.]

           [Zen'da #27 turns to Corr and hits but his leather
            armor protects against the blow.]

           [Lastly Zen'da #30 exits a tent and with scimitar
            in hands looks for where to go.  Ends up at 32,17]


        Next update Friday....

        Actions? Comments?

        GM: Quick Comments.
          Only 1 phase tonight.  Ran out of time.  Happy 4th of
          July for those in the US.  Need updated actions for
          Strie'bog and Chion.  Otherwise will continue as above
          based on some random actions.

          Farseeker is hurt but Praelux is down.  At least 6
          Zen'da are down (about 20% of the enemy warriors)

          I made a couple mistakes on positions adn duplicates.
          Later this week will fix it.  Would it be better to
          remove those folks marked as Down off the list to
          prevent clutter?  If so I can remove them off the map.

          Because of email problems I'm sending this email from
          a different program.  It strips Tabs it seems.  PLEASE
          consult the map on the website for proper alignment
          of the map.  Otherwise it will be garbage.  I should
          be able to fix this by end of week I hope.

    Ugh!...yep.  Netscape blew the tabs.  I'll have format it.  So look 
at the game website
 please.

         Phase 2 and maybe 3 on Friday.
