[PnP] pnp Digest, Vol 119, Issue 1

Several of the things he complained about actually drew me to the game. Back when I purchased P&P, I was wanting an alternative to D&D. P&P fit the bill. I loved the detailed character creation. When I finished I felt like I had a real person, not just some stats on a piece of paper. I liked that going up in an experience level didn’t make you better at everything.

Sure, managing everything during a game could get clunky but it eventually got fairly streamlined the more you did it. With today’s technologies running a game could be even easier. Especially when I’m finished with my P&P iOS app! Will there be a big market for it? No. Am I having a ball working on it? YES!

Thanks!
Floyd

Beyond that, it was my first fantasy roleplaying game, so I had no point of reference for what a good game was or wasn't. Now, I've seen games come and go since then, and there are a few other systems I now prefer to that of P&P, but in the moment, in the 80s, I loved P&P for what it was. In this vein, it did not fail - agreeing with Scott's opinion. It provided a lifetime of memories and great fun. Who didn't love rolling on the Special Events table?!
>> That said, I read the review and thought it quite funny - and to be perfectly honest, I think I found it funny because I?definitely sympathized with many of the authors sentiments.
