Greg,

I usually keep pretty quiet here on the list, though I have put my 2cc in at times. I am glad to know you have such passion for your friend. He will be missed. I can only hope that there is a friend of mine with as much as passion about my life and would do the same thing for me.

Thank you for letting us know, it was always a great day to hear from him and his knowledge.

Tobie

P.S. Thank for the link to post about him.

Subject: [PnP] About Richard and Apologies

Look, I want to
apologize for some of my 'snarky' posts. Especially to Phineas Cromwell and Tom
Kelly. I hate being the bearer of such bad new and, well frankly it is tough,
still after a few months am still trying to come to grips with it all. I
sincerely apologize for being rather abrasive in some of my replies to folks and
ask kindly for forgiveness.

The news is terrible, I am sorry to have had
to be the messenger, but I felt you all deserved to know. I am the person who
directed Richard here after finding the Site and Wout, and I could not just...
NOT let you all know what was going on.

I really have appreciated the
messages and tributes from Paul Ming, Alex Koponen, Floyd Resler, Fbrobertson,
and Scott Adams. I spoke with a lot of you way back when, before having come
rather 'deactive' and having my own life issues to deal with. It is folks like
you and the rest on the list who are all united by the wonderful game and world
Richard created, that I felt should know what was going on.

I am not
going to bog down message here with a bunch of personal reflection or anticdotes
since there is far too much to tell, but for the records....

This site
and all you people were a total joy for him. Richard was exceedingly modest,
never ever took praise well. I can tell you, he felt deeply honored by the
site, and everyones passion for the game. He directed the praise into just
trying to improve and develop more 'goodies' for everyone who loved the game.
Richard did not have an easy life, but one of the major highlights was this
place and the people. Finding that his lifes work was not simply lost and cast
aside. I know many of you had reached out to him, and he appreciated that, as
well as his contact with you all.

I am sure this site and group will be
around for a long time, doing what it always has. Enjoying the game, enjoying
Richards lifes work, enjoying growing the basic game far beyond what it once was
and enjoying the passion for it. Richard would want nothing more then to see it
all keep going.

Fondly
Greg Ranocchia
