Personally, I avoid random treasure.  If doing all the rolls, I would omit items that don't fit and not replace them.  For example, if the troll found to have an expensive furnature set, and was away from home, the party would never even know about it (unless hey saught the lair for other reasons).  I also consider how much coinage they would carry on them.  On the hunt, most creatures should carry little "treasure", but probably have some.
